Every year approximately TWO MILLION dogs are inhumanely caged, tortured, and eaten in South Korea! IDA is focusing worldwide attention on the plight of dogs and cats tortured for human consumption. South Korean bus with IDA logoOne of our South Korean partners, Korean Animal Rights Advocates (KARA), will commemorate the Bok days (dog-eating days) riding a striking blue bus, bearing IDA's logo, and the slogan that reads: "Tears of Boknal: Dogs are the same. There is no dog for meat," attracting attention everywhere it goes. Activists will make stops at Insadong, Myeong-dong, and Gangnam station to hand out leaflets and educate these communities about the horrors of the dog and cat meat trade. Our other partner, Coexistence for Animal Rights on Earth (CARE), very recently came to the aid of a dog who, tied to a pole, was being beaten mercilessly by an elderly couple, until a woman who used to feed him saved his life and brought him to CARE. He was then rushed to the nearest veterinary hospital. With a cracked skull and broken jaw, he underwent numerous surgeries and now, fully recovered, Jang su (meaning "long live") has been adopted by the hospital. CARE is pursuing legal action against this couple and gathering signatures from supporters to Korean Dog credit: CAREsubmit to the government to request an amendment of the Animal Protection Law. This practice of killing and eating dogs is not because of some long-standing cultural tradition. In fact, most Koreans find the cruelty and killing appalling. Yet it continues because it is backed by government indifference and because profit-driven industry forces aggressively promote the superstition that the more the dog suffered in death, the more virility a man will experience when he eats the flesh. Please join IDA and our South Korean colleagues by signing this petition urging the South Korean government to strengthen and enforce animal protection laws so that these cruelties can be brought to an end! https://secure2.convio.net/ida/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=1533

In the petition group web there is a message of a massacre to take place in Romania in 48 hours..- Back to EU! Animals are protected now! We need to ask for the exercise of this protection! But not only to Rom govt but to EU Council & Parliament both at the same time! We also have to talk about Ukraine. Why supporting a country that thinks the oppositt of the majority of citizens in the union? That is a Democracy! - The will of the majority should has weight.
Thanks for the invitacion to this group Nancy C!!! Thanks for receiving me!
Excuse the errors please!
I get the wrong thread in my first participation, excuse me! The cause is the same: Cruelty.
With thread about dogs see that two million dogs would be much more than what people would eat if we see the limited places where this meat is consumed. Same happens with China and Viet Nam. It is not that they do not eat them but they would be eating dog in all meals! That is for fur! I would love to know what would they say about what they do with fur from dogs killed for meat. Fur is a heavy business. And EU & Australia huge markets. In EU can enter as misidentified ,unidentified and as a good imitation of what they really are.We cannot doubt seal fur from canada may enter EU in one of those ways also.
