Rescue between Gryfice and P³oty (Poland) . Brave firefighters saved six deers and does. The two weakest were drowned. Firefighters swam in ice water but they didn’t give up. The herd consisted of eight deers and does.
The animals entered the frozen Rejowicki lake. When the ice broke up under them the animals began to sink. The angler called the firefighters . The action was difficult, because the deers were falling into the water 20 m from the shore. The firefighters had to cut out the corridor in the ice. They worked in very difficult conditions, on the ice. They work in special suits and they were secured by rope.

What a wonderful story! Thanks for making my day a bit better!
Amazing rescue...and by firemen, not wildlife officials (who in the US seem to be more into killing than saving). Thanks for sharing Danuta.
O thank you for posting this Danuta ! These are the kind of stories that quell my misanthropic tendencies, and instill a little faith in humanity. I have read a few stories where firemen have gone out of their way for animals on a few occassions, and once saw two firemen on the corner of my street trying to help a dog stand up. The dog had escaped his backyard, and took a gleeful trot around the neighborhood, but because of his arthritis, got tired, sat down, and couldn't stand back up. So the fireman came to investigate and help, and managed to find his caretaker. So Kudos to the people in red !
Thanks Danuta! Firemen worldwide are to be honored for their life-saving rescue efforts...especially heartwarming to see them rescue animals.
Thank you, Danuta for this. So glad to see that they rescued them. The world Thanks these brave Firemen who risked their lives to save these deer. (and many others.).

Thank you very much for sharing this story of courage, and for sharing your love with the world.
I applaud all the firefighters that saved these precious animals.
I have heard of many stories like this. When you are in that field of wanting to help others, you don't think of your own life. True hero's indeed.
Thanks Danuta! We need stories like this, especially after seeing so many heartbreaking one's.
Well done!! Thanks for sharing, Danuta!
Thank you so much for sharing these stories with us Danuta. In this day and age of so much hopelessness and cruelty, stories like this help to balance the scales a bit and bring some much needed warmth to our hearts. Without a doubt, firefighters are heroes one and all. They deserve far more recognition for their selfless dedication in the service of helping others.
Great to see humans are saving animals, than killing them for change, we can call this brave men truly humans
it's so heartwarming to read and see this!!! More hope for humanity! Thanks Danuta!
Great to see that there are more people who actually care about animals, even if it's not their priority job
Kudos to the firemen, at least they saved six of them. Thanks for sharing Danuta!
Gosh, they do not have much meat of their legs. I bet they felt the waters temperatures immediately. I believe, in the upper group photo, that one of the dead deer was lying on its side in the water. The firemen probably had to move real fast in order to save the six that they were able to save.
The moose pictures are real nice, clear, and vivid. Those photos were taken with a quality camera. It surely was not a cell phone. If it was, then, I need to get a different cell phone.
How wonderful. Thank you for sharing with me Danuta.
A really great story, Danuta! Thank you for sharing!

This is just beautiful Danuta, thank you for sharing.
Oh Danuta what an awesome story!!!! I bet that poor Moose was freezing to death!! And those poor deer!! That is so sad to see animals go like that. Almost re,mids me of that story where the deer swimming in the middle of a lake here in the US swam towards the boat for help and all ended up climbing onto the boat for safety until they got them into shore. Thanks for sharing!!
Congratulations to these brave firemen! I wish they could teach the lesson to their INSANE colleagues of Holley,a town near New York, who are organizing a squirrel slaughtering contest, in which even CHILDREN should kill as many squirrels as they can to win. These US firemen should receive proper PSYCHIATRIC treatment! Sign the petition here: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/477/007/618/tell-ny-stop-squirrel-slaughter-contest/
It is gratifying to hear such news as it is hopeful to see evidence that there are people out there who are not indifferent to animals in need. I am extremely happy for the saved animals. Thank you for sharing this with us.
They are true heros.
anyone who saves animals is a hero in my book!
