I would love to have one of each of the other language testies please. And, thanks for correcting my very poor German there, Schaft... oops, forgot how to spell your name. Forgive me please.
<font size="2">if you're looking for German TESTIES to be sent to you, this is, hopefully, a good starting place.<br /><br />If you're offering German language TESTIES, I'd like one please.<br /><br />You can also make TESTIES in any language for people to request and use. We call these PREFABIOS and though they haven't been used much recently they're what this group got started with.</font><br /><br />
btw...I'll also take a TURKISH TESTY if you're offering.

Merci.
=== translation:
Those who have asked for French testimonials, please check your testimonials now. I had to shorten the original, but it is still ok, I think.
Anyone else want this French testimonial? May I have one in French, too, please? Thank you.

Bienvenue, Liane Camille.
==
==
OK...I see someone would want a translation
I'm new here....I come from Paris, France and maybe someone could write me a testie in French? I see Uniino wants one in French too...I can write you a testie in French!!!
He...do you use to count the "i":s in Anniina, or do you only put the key some times..?? haha..
Hmm...something like this...:
"Marty is completely insane!!! Only an equal madman can understand what´s going on in his brain. The madness has created more laughs than any other person on care2. May he not burn in hell!! "
...ya know, much as I pretend that it doesn't matter what they say...I am curious and I would like a translation not that it matters.

Thank you Sappho. Now who's next??? I know there's a few people left who haven't sent me a foreign language, "It means nothing" testy...

Hey, I see a whole bunch of new translations to my "It means nothing." testy...but none of them have been sent to me. Now I want everybody here to pick a translation, and send it...Pretty please???
[report anonymous abuse]
I've tried to translate it as directly as possible, including the syntactical mistakes.
The sun is raising: do what I see? An enormous yellow creature brought forth before me. I bow my head and close my eyes but what it was to my surprise: Their big fat donkeyto willing as me kiss it.
Creature and kreatur sounds very much the same, but the meaning is slightly different. Kreatur is rarely used and it sounds kind of mysterious, like an unidentified living being taken out of a Lovecraft novel..at least in this context.
Stenge mine øyne/ close my eyes - this is a sentence that works in english but not in Norwegian. In norwegian you can close (stenger) a shop or a door, but not your eyes...
Esel = donkey å = to Does'nt make any sense when put together in one word.
Shhht, dont tell it to anyone, but I'm running the most unambigious art gallery in Oslo, doing everything from curating to washing floors. The pay is practically non-existent though, as it's all based on volunteering and DIY etichs. Officially I'm just a single mom paid by the goverment for being just that, a single mom. Hip Hurray for the social-democratic society of Norway..or what's left of it !!
...I'm a typical blunderer. Well again. I'm going to go check on a testimonial to see if it's what I hope it is. What kind of work do you do when you're unemployed..and more importantly is the pay okay?
[send green star]
Sounds like the typical blunders I regularly commit.
btw Sorry I'm a bit late in responding. Have'nt been as much online as normal the past few days. Too much work to do...and this is what they call 'to be unemployd'
Amber/Sappho - What can I say, that piece of norwegian text is just INSANE...both in the way the sentences are put togheter AND content-wise. I wonder if you would recognize it if I tranlate it back to English? What is it btw? Sappho poetry?
Schlaftie - !
Janey - Yup, thats what I ment! Thanks...And who knows, maybe we find ourself getting all slipperty-jipper together 15 years from now. Mmmh, never say never...
I love your metaphor of Hebrew letters! I'll remember that. And I wrote you that testy for your profile... is that what you meant? You have some far-out pics in your albums. I can tell that you're someone I would've loved to get all slipperty-jipper with about 15 years ago!
Bons temps..

...just because I was testing the system doesn't mean that I don't think you should be getting those TESTIES. Anarchistic, eh?

Schlaftablette March 31, 2005 2:01 PM
for the testie!! I love seeing them all in all those different languages, and all of them say the same thing!! But is it possible that you left off the last line??? The one that says, "In fact, Mona wrote this herself. I just translated it." or something like that?

Anniina March 31, 2005 1:51 PM
Go to the 2nd ethics question thread. I posted something there specifically intended for you, and I'd like to know your thoughts...it's all about, well...ethics (Yours and mine seem to be similar, while Marty is a bit more anarchist)
Sclaftie - That's the funny thing about internet, You can be in regular contact with a person for years without getting to know basic facts like that. So when are you going to put up a picture of yourself? Damnit, my curiousity is gonna kill me...
Siannan. Did'nt work cause it does'nt translate to any scandinavian language. But it translates t o french so it should be pretty easy for you to chech out it's veracity.
Milissa. I'm waiting with the scottish testie, at least until someone has posted a testie after the norwegian one I posted....ok?Or am I being...err..milky again.
Can someone do me a favour and find me a better word??????
[send green star]
Maybe we can find out how accurate it is by translating something from f.ex norwegian to english. I'll give it a try if you post the link.
[send green star]
Hmmm.... I wonder how accurate these translations are
Unfortunately, the translator failed on the apparent absence of a Russian word for 'testimonial', which is pretty vital, I guess, LOL
Maybe you can ask Schlaftablette to translate it into german or turkish...
Schlaftablette Good to see you here. Did'nt know you could speak Turkish How come?

It means nothing. March 31, 2005 1:00 PM
I'm cool with anybody taking my idea for that one...it was kind of the point to have an official "Testy, Moany Al" testy for all...and nobody knows what it says but us!
[report anonymous abuse]
anonymous
YES!! March 31, 2005 12:57 PM
I want it in Scottish too!!
And in Spanish if anyone knows Spanish...
I'm not accepting any other testy's until I've got that one in 4 different languages on my profile page for at least 2 days!!!
Awwww I love hebrew letters.*hearsmile* They look like the footsteps of a dancing bird inprinted in snow. I'll take it..if you want to give it to me, that is.
I've decided to hold on to a personal rule when it comes to posting the same testy to more than one person. I dont do it, unless it's a part of the prank to do it. Sorry for being so milky.
....and yes I know that 'milky' does'nt make any sense at all in this context, but I just could'nt find the word I were looking for.
Hey Milissa, What about a scottish version as well? That must be as close to a forreign language you can come while still keeping it inside the borders of the english language...at least in my ears. Okey then Marty, this is your chance. If you're fast you can claim the scottie one before Milissa does.He-he. Life is rough, I know. Thes testimonial was aquired ben th' wonderful crew testy moany al,
haur oan care2. it means naethin'. in fact, mona wrote it herself, Ah
jist translated it.
Siannan. Thanks for the link....I still return there from time to time just to have a laugh.
Could I have this in a foriegn language? Perhaps more than one foreign language...could be very cool:
This testimonial was aquired through the wonderful group Testy Moany Al, here on Care2. It means nothing. In fact, Mona wrote it herself, I just translated it.
Thanks!!
Feel free to post the translations to be picked up by anyone else who might want it...
Translation: You are a sincere joy. No lie.*hearsmile*

Thank you so very much...even though I had to read the whole English translation again to make any sense out of it...oh well, that's kind of the point of the whole thing now isn't it?
I like Anne's testie in plain old English!! Can I have it??? Huh??? Please? Maybe with one or two foreign language words in it...but not too many, my brain can't handle much more
Just forgive me about my poor language March 28, 2005 4:20 AM
If you`ve had luck to meet ________ on your way on this planet, then you also know how it`s possible that one person can make you laugh and cry concurrently. She/he is the first rain in the springtime and the snow in May. Yes, correct - she/he can make you disturbed, damned, hectic and lost at one time without knowing it herself/himself. But she/he is also the only one who can do it on this planet!

March 27, 2005 3:33 PM
Carl. That was pure poetry.
And to all you non-swedes; I can highly recommand this testie.Dont bother asking for a translation, just order it!.. Before someone else does.

i did it... and manage to put in quite a lot å,ä and ö... hope that it stays so the c2c dont take away the little dots...
Hey Carl, Anniina and anyone else out there who speaks another language besides English!?
How about some TESTIES in Swedish, Norwegian, Latin, Spanish...any other language besides English?
We monolinguals in the USA would probably have little to no idea what you're saying, so you could say anything.
How that might add to the elements of fun, mystery, chance, snarkiness, sincerity and tomfoolery I can only begin to speculate. But I for one would be happy to rceive TESTIES I don't understand in languages I don't understand. I already don't understand some of the TESTIES written in a language I do understand.*hearsmile*
