I know we all have the tendency to think of our dec'd loved ones as being perfect, even if they were just human beings... Surely, they had some bad traits (faults) too, didn't they? Should we share them?
Surely, from the way I describe him, you must either think that Tony was a "Saint" or that "I'm out of my mind" because I am depicting him as such! No, there was nothing supernatural about him... and even my psychiatrist agrees that I'm NOT insane. Tony and I were compatible and simply loved each other, despite our respective faults.
Of course, it took us a little effort to get used to each other's ways... and it could not have been otherwise because we met late in life... I guess, initially, he found my behavior a little puzzling... In fact, I have an unusual sense of humour and can be very funny sometimes... Also, I ALWAYS speak my mind, which is often at my disadvantage... Anyway, what I found out rather quickly was that I should be more careful with my jokes AND statements! Tony was VERY peevish and TOO serious! He'd be easily hurt and bear a grudge. Then I learned to watch my words and he learned to have fun! That's how we became a "perfect couple!"
Its interesting, I have avoided this thread. I saw it and didn't even want to come in. Which of course got me thinking about why didn't I want to read it. So it is a very theraputic topic, at least for me Giuliana, thank you. Of course Rudy was far from perfect, he was just "becoming." In many ways he was very typical of a teenager, though in other ways he was not. But he did suck his teeth (you know that annoying noise that people make at you when you tell them something that they don't want to hear.)at me when I made him take out the garbage lol. He wasn't very good at cleaning up after himself, and he would kill even the best dinner with hot sauce. As I am writing this and thinking, I realize that most of his bad traits though I think, had not yet developed. Most of what I would think of as his "bad traits" were simply things that we move through as we learn what works for us and what doesn't, what and how we want to be or not be. Growing up. Though the sucking of the teeth definately didn't work for him, he hadn't figured out that he needed to dump that trait LOL.
