What's your GPSr? February 23, 2005 6:49 AM

What GPSr do you use? I have a Garmin eMap that I bought used. It is bulkier than the eTrex series but the bigger screen makes up for the form factor. It has removable mem chips that store maps you load onto it from MapSource. I use 2 rechargable Energiser NiMH AA in it.

If I were to buy a new GPSr, I would probably go for the Garmin Legend. Though the Vista has more memory, the Legend is more than sufficient and $100 cheaper.

Check here for a comparison of the eTrex line:

I have a Garmin Geko 2001.

I haven't really tried to use it yet. We triend in the city but had a difficult time getting satellitte connection. I think we will try again this weekend in Gatineau Park.

eTrex Legend September 03, 2005 5:45 AM

I have a Garmin eTrex Legend. I don't know too much about GPSrs, but this one does me quite well (and it's waterproof! hehe).

I couldn't believe the range in products when I went shopping! Everything from basic $150 CDN models to $850+...But I did without the colour screen and USB connection. I have a friend who just got a new one (can't remember what kind...better than mine!) with a colour screen, built-in barometer and a compass which works without you having to move. The luxury!

Yeah features may or may not help in the hunt. I didn't pick the plain yellow eTrex because I wanted maps...and my eMap (though it is bulkier) has a bigger display.  [ send green star]

Garmin GPSMAP 60C October 08, 2005 6:41 AM

We use a Garmin GPSMAP 60C. I like the size, shape, and the color display. I do wish it had more memory, because when i go on a trip, I'd like to be able to store more detailed mapping data and more waypoints. Perhaps the next update will boost capacity....  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

I agree with that Etrex Legend are enough but I have the CX after.

Color Screen and more memory for maps.

I love it
