WSWS is seeking Volunteers! March 29, 2005 2:20 PM
Hello Fellow Wolf Supporters!
Our mission at Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary is to provide permanent, safe sanctuary for abused and abandoned captive-bred wolves and wolf dogs. To educate the public about wolves in the wild, the complexities of wolf-dog ownership, the excellent care and treatment of all animals domestic or wild.
We are currently seeking energetic, motivated, committed and reliable adult staff volunteers to assist in the caretaking of the animals at WSWS. Volunteer’s duties include; assisting with caretaking of our wolves and wolf-dogs, projects at the Sanctuary, education programs and potential office work. The program we offer at Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary is two-tiered.
For volunteers that commit on a short-term basis (up to three months). We provide food and a campsite. Volunteers can pitch a tent or bring an RV. Houses not being used by Residential Volunteers can be made available to Short-term volunteers on a case-by-case basis.
Residential Volunteers who commit to WSWS on a longer-term basis (six months or more). With this long-term commitment, volunteers train in safe animal capture and simple medical procedures, graduate to interact and work with some of our more difficult animals, learn to run tours of the Sanctuary and participate in educational and fundraising programs, working in the office and learning some of the aspects of running a non-profit organization. Residential Volunteers receive a simple house to live in and food.
WSWS offers a unique opportunity for men and women to learn about and interact with wolves and wolf dogs; an opportunity to actively participate in providing quality care to animals in a sanctuary setting; and an opportunity to grow in awareness and connect with one of nature's great Teachers - the Wolf.
If you are interested in our volunteer opportunities, the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary’s website will provide you with our volunteer information packet and application.
