Anyone have some favorite anime soundtracks? Some that I listen to often are Fushugi Yugi, Inuyasha, Kenshin, and Someday's Dreamers... Mononoke has a pretty nice soundtrack too.

I too like the music from Inuyasha. I have a few mp3s from it, like (don't know if these are the "official" song names) "Kagome and Inuyasha", "Crossing Time", and "Kikyo's Theme". I really enjoy almost all of the music from that show.
I also like the song from the end credits of Wolf's Rain and I have the mp3 of "A Moment's Memory", the theme from "Please Save My Earth"

Hmm that's a tough one for me.. Fushigi Yugi, Cowboy Bebop + Knocking on Heaven's door, and Hellsing are the soundtracks I listen to most often.

Just about any soundtrack that I own gets a lot of attention. Probably my most-listened to is the first Inu Yasha soundtrack because I really love the opening and ending themes.

Sailor Moon has some awesome instrumental songs in it, the last season especially. Star Locket Melody from the first season, and For The Princess from the last season.
Kiki's Delivery Service is my all time favorite soundtrack though. Without the soundtrack it has now, the movie wouldn't be as great.
Azumanga Daioh has some very interesting songs that don't make too much sense, but they are still funny as heck. The opening has some very interesting lyrics having lines such as "Tea For You", "Fairyland" and "Wonderland". The funny thing is, it is the same in japanese as english! The ending song has nothing to do with the series but has to do with "Rasberry Heaven" Chiyo Chan's "Cooking Song" is the best!

Tsukurimashou, tsukurimashou, sate sate nani ga dekiru ka na?
That cooking song? (It's been a while since I've seen any Azumanga.)

Best Anime songs have got to be Fushigi Yuugi.... August 04, 2004 5:31 AM
Hi there, I am new to this group.
I finally found an Anime group!! YAY!!
Almost every FY character has a great song or two.
I am trying to find the soundtrack to Revolutionary Girl Utena....those are such wierd songs that they're interesting. Kinda like the music of Trigun too.

I'm partial to Yui & Nuriko's songs.
However, I get the Chichiri songs stuck in my head like a brainworm. ^_^
Gotta love F.Y.!
Am I the only crazy one, or does anyone else kinda like the Trigun CDs??

Rachel- you're not the only crazy one here! I have both the first and second Trigun soudtracks, and they are really starting to grow on me.

Hey yall,
I always feel like such a novice when anime is the topic, but here goes...
I kinda like Trigun's closing title theme, though I like the music lots more than the vocal(ist).
Bebop is so great... Yoko Kanno, yeah!
I've never heard of the Seat Belts, but once I saw them listed as performing Kanno's tune for the opening theme, I've been trying to remember to look them up on the net.
I also love the closing title theme too, as well as Inuyasha's closing theme from a slightly older version than the one they show now (at least the closing music, that is).
And I really love all the music for Last Exile... does anyone know when/if it's coming back to tv?
Since that lame G4/Comcast bought-out Tech tv, I haven't followed their channel too much - the G4 website was a real let-down after using the cool ole tech tv website.
Peace,
Rob ::

Cowboy Bebop. Need I say more? Also, some of the songs from Ranma 1/2 crack me up (e.g., the Baka Song). What else is better than a whole song [and music video] about calling someone baka? ha ha ha
my favorite soundtrack is escaflowne especially the openning theme ( yakkusoku ...). i also like all fushigi yuugi's music like everlasting story, star, itooshi... too many to mention.

But still, I am not saying that this soundtrack ends with the people belonging to the 70's generation (of which I am part of...), try this newer version -
"Voltes V no Uta" - Metal version opening theme performed by ANIMETAL
I like a lot of the aforementioned soundtracks as well and add the two Wolf's Rain soundtracks as well. If nothing else the cub on the cover of OST2 is insanely cute!
My nomination for worst opening song ever is from Samurai Champloo.

There's soundtracks like Fushigi Yuugi that's just catchy and can't get out of your head. (Probably because you heard the beginning and end themes so many times) But then there are anime soundtracks that are great listening anytime. I like .hack/// series and Someday's Dreamer (especially the piano work and the salsa music!). Mononoke and Vampire Princess Miyu have good mood music too!
well, I like Ranma songs at the end of the ova's, Samurai X also has great songs, but I think that the best soundtrack ever is Saint Seiya, Love It's instrumental selection and the chorus is great!

I really love the opening theme of Ghost in the Shell (Stand Alone Complex) as well as some of the stuff from the original film;
I even like that average rock-song during the closing credits, though I'd like it better with a different vocalist.
The soundtrack from ye ole favorite Akira was amazing overall.
The music from Wolf's Rain is great.... didn't Yoko Kanno do that one as well?
Of course, her classic opening for Bebop is the shiznit
I'm glad techtv finally finished Last Exile... I really like the opening theme.
Last but not least::::::::: even tho it's technically not anime, I love the retro-funny-spoof-of-Jonny Quest-music on the Venture Brothers (late nite adult swim comedy).
They actually did a David Bowie tribute by having the Venture bros. characters speak lines from his old classic Ground Control to 'Major Tom'.
That's why I lioke the intro in ghost in the shell ( the first one ) .
Of course the intro in Cowboy bebop rocks too, besides there are a lot of music that I like (sinatra's fly me to the moon in his 9 or so versions in the Evangelion endings) but mostly that's all.
Thanks alot Andres 9_9 now I will be humming "Fly me to the moon" all day! I do like the japanese version with the female vocal and synth ^_^

I quite like the InuYasha soundtrack. I love the opening and ending themes. "Fukai Mori" or "Deep Forest" is my favourite!

hi, yeah, I agree with those........... Last nite I saw that G4 (formerly tech tv) is once again showin' Last Exile.... I loved that show AND it's music when they showed it for awhile last year.
Yeah, Ghost in the Shell has amazing music by Yoko Kanno & friends.
well, I'm glad someone mentioned Escaflowne, it was good stuff too.
and Trigun is cool, so is the opening of Full Metal Alchemist---I downloaded it awhile back, it's not the kind of music I normally listen to ((a bit too pop)) but I still like it.
I really liked the closing song to full metal alchemist. it was only played for i think three episodes. it starts with a woman singing by herself in japaneese 'even now our hearts are screaming out'. then the music starts in. I liked that one
there was one called 'big O' it's closing theam was so powerful it brought tears to my eyes. I think it is called 'maybe it's you' or 'baby,it's you'. very sweet and pensive.
someone else said the worst opening theam was from shamira shampoo,or how ever you spell it. I have to totally agree.
Mine are .hack//sign and the game ones too, Card Captor Sakura, Kingdom Hearts, FMA, Nana, Fruits Basket, Death note and Sailor Moon. But sadly I don't own most of those except .hack and Kingdom Hearts & 1 of the Sailor Moon cds lol. ^^
