Links to Peace

Here are a few links to my resources for PEACE.  The first link relates to Dr. Albert Schweitzer and if you are not familiar with his lectures, his Nobel speech lecture, his sermons etc......I deeply encourage you to take time to read them.  Schweitzer changed my life many years ago and his words are my inspiration each day.  His lessons have helped me to find a peaceful solution to every challenge that I face each day.  I am committed to spreading his messages to the world.

The other links are related to the Quaker resources on Peace.  Quakers, like myself ( I'm a relatively new Quaker) , are pacifists and although we are activists we always find a peaceful solution through Truth and Love.  Even if you are not Quaker, if you visit any Quaker website, they always have links that relate to PEACE.  I've only included a few links but the links below will certainly provide even more links.  Check them all out!

Peace & Love,

Elizabeth

The Bruderhof Peacemakers Guide was created to inspire and empower you to work for peace, and to arm you with living proof of the power of nonviolence to effect change and resolve conflicts. http://www.peacemakersguide.org/ Peaceful Tomorrows is an organization founded by family members of those killed on September 11th who have united to turn our grief into action for peace. By developing and advocating nonviolent options and actions in the pursuit of justice, we hope to break the cycles of violence engendered by war and terrorism. Acknowledging our common experience with all people affected by violence throughout the world, we work to create a safer and more peaceful world for everyone. http://peacefultomorrows.org/index.php Treaties are negotiated by government. Peace is made by people. Seeds for Peace is doing what no government can. It is sowing the seeds of peace among the next generation of leaders. http://www.seedsofpeace.org/ Karuna Center for Peacebuilding envisions a world in which communities transform enmity and conflict through collaborative dialogue and cooperative problem solving. It provides education and training to transform conflict by promoting dialogue and reconciliation. http://www.karunacenter.org/ Fellowship of Reconciliation seeks to replace violence, war, racism, and economic injustice with nonviolence, peace, and justice. We are an interfaith organization committed to active nonviolence as a transforming way of life and as a means of radical change. We educate, train, build coalitions, and engage in nonviolent and compassionate actions locally, nationally, and globally. http://www.forusa.org/ United for Peace and Justice is a coalition of more than 1300 local and national groups throughout the United States who have joined together to oppose our government's policy of permanent warfare and empire-building. http://www.unitedforpeace.org/ Believing war to be a crime against humanity, the War Resisters League, founded in 1923, advocates Gandhian nonviolence as the method for creating a democratic society free of war, racism, sexism, and human exploitation. http://www.warresisters.org/ The Nuclear Age Peace Foundation initiates and supports worldwide efforts to abolish nuclear weapons, to strengthen international law and institutions, to use technology responsibly and sustainably, and to empower youth to create a more peaceful world. http://www.wagingpeace.org/ The International Peace Bureau is the world´s oldest and most comprehensive international peace federation, bringing together people working for peace in many different sectors: not only pacifists but also women's, youth, labour, religious and professional bodies. http://www.ipb.org/web/index.php Friends Committee on National Legislation: We seek a world free of war and the threat of war We seek a society with equity and justice for all We seek a community in which every person's potential may be fulfilled We seek an earth restored http://www.fcnl.org/ World Peace Prayer Society: People all over the world are joining together to bring peace to our hearts and our planet through the prayer May Peace Prevail on Earth. This prayer for world peace carries a message of great hope and healing. It transcends barriers of nationality, race and religion to unite humanity in a call for the common good of all life on Earth. http://www.worldpeace.org/ there's some more on my Peace page at a website I started after 9/11: http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/spiritsong/NewPeace.html and more on this page: http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/spiritsong/IraqOneYearLater.html I've probably forgotten a few.. I've had a rather severe case of menopause-mind-fog for a few years...uh, for the guys..that's like a senior moment on steroids .. for the women around my age...you know what I'm talking about
World Peace and Earth Healing

http://www.care2.com/c2c/group/PeaceandHealing

We are a dualistic action orientated group focusing on both Peace and Healing. The one day a year awareness for both Peace groups and environmental awareness is no longer good enough. As we work on healing that around us we also heal part of ourselves in the process moving us closer to an inner peace.

Peace, love, and beauty

Please take a moment ..pop over and sign up for peace.  It's that simple.

We are NOT political and see benefits in every political system and we believe that not only can they co-exist peacefully but that diversity is a neccessity to balance power. We would like all governments to respect their citizens and become non-violent but that is as close as we will come to being political. We don't believe our purpose requires revolution, violence or pre-emptive war. We believe firmly that the vast majority of the people on this earth want to live in a non-violent safe environment and we believe that they ALL have an equal right to experience safety every day. We are from ALL walks of life throughout the globe.

Ten Million Clicks for Peace
Banner

Dear All,

Please click on the above image.  Ten million clicks for peace spreads peace throughout the world be helping people in need and that are suffering from extreme poverty and conflict in their region.  They are also associated with www.wetheworld.org and work with organizations like Mercy Corps.  I think it is worth the investment (yes, giving them money would help) and time to check out especially if you have a few extra dollars to give to them whether it is a one time deal or on a monthly basis.  Please check out and help this cause.  Thanks.

We are a coalition of faith-based organizations and individuals who work together to educate around justice issues, take collaborative action and do public witness.
We address local, national and international concerns focusing on economic justice, women's issues, human rights, racial equality, peace and the environment.

Founded in 1985, our goals continue to be: to deepen awareness of justice as integral, not optional, to our faith response. to network participating organizations and to collaborate with other concerned groups for stronger public witness and impact on justice and peace issues. to plan and carry out programs of education and action which affect structural injustice.
