He was on the news being interviewed on a major network TV channel,, ABC? 

 

He was very direct... He said that the war in Afghanistan is NOT about terrorism any longer. 

 

We are over there getting involved in a civil war that has been raging for thirty years, (just like Vietnam). 

 

The majority of people there see us as occupiers, not as liberators. They want us OUT.

 

Over 80% of the country has a shadow government and is controlled by militia, not the central govt that the US supports.

 

The US general says that there are only about 500 Al Queda hardliners left in the country. 

 

So what in the heck are we doing there?
