I wanted to share my good news today!
Today was crazy days sales in town. As I was searching around I stumbled upon a Snuggli sling for $6! I tried it on, carried my son arround the store for a while, and even wore it out after I bought it. After many problems finding a good sling I found one that works for me, for very little money! There were only 3 left when I got mine, my lucky day!

My son is now too heavy for a sling, he's only 8 months but he weighs about 22lbs, far too much for my poor back to lug about.
I have become pram dependent now though. I feel naked if I go for a walk without the stroller as I don't know what to do with my hands!!!!

That is a great deal!
I got my backpack baby carrier for about $6 at a consignment shop and I'm soooo glad for that "luxury" purchase. I still use it to lug DD around when we go anywhere. She gets too twisty and funny in the sling anymore. LOL..
Glad you found one that works for you!
We've actually finally looked at our stroller and asked ourselves long and hard if we're REALLY going to need it after all. Thankfully that was a consignment shop buy too so we didn't spend TOO much on it... but when we use it it's usually more for carrying OTHER things, not the baby. LOL.. took it to shopping once... used it to carry bags while I slung the baby. LOL

emma-
Have you seen carriers like the Ergo carrier?
http://www.ergobabycarrier.com/
My 'baby' is a bit over 30 lbs now, I think and I can still carry him around with ease in my ergo.
It does an awesome job at distributing the weight evenly.
You can wear it front, back, or on your hip, and with a bit of creative wiggling, you can nurse in it
It is expensive--I think $75 new, but I got mine second hand. Every once in a while they are on ebay...
We splurged on it because ds hates beingin anything with straps...

I love it when that happens! my daughter just outgrew her frontpack. We have a nice backpack i use for her that we scored at a yard sale for $7. She's 23lbs. now so it is easier having her on my back. i also do an african wrap with a large piece of fabric, baby in the back. that puts her right to sleep. she never was crazy about the otsbh sling i had so it didn't get much use, time to auction it i guess...
