looking for suggestions August 13, 2005 3:56 PM

Hello, my name is Lindsey.  I found out two days ago that I am 8 weeks pregnant:o)  I've been having some lower back pain and vVERRY tender breasts.  Does anyone have any suggestions for me??  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

I know that this might seem a bit hokey.... August 14, 2005 5:22 PM

but try some yoga stretches - just make sure you find ones that won't cut off your breathing or you could even go to the chiropractor's office...try to find one that has some experience with moms to be and won't snap you in two! Another thing that might help the back pain is to keep in mind proper posture, both feet on the floor, chin up and back straight....we tend to forget and end up slouching which KILLS the back!  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Congrats on your pregnacy!!! On the sore breast, I would suggest a larger bra... no underwire...

Lower back, if you are in a relationship, see if your honey will rub your back some... but I also second the Chiropracter... It is wonderful to vist the chiropracter while pregnant...

Can't do the hot baths now that you are pregant... but what about shower... hot that just flows on the painful area?

Good luck hon

Thanks!  I'm really excited!  I think I will go to the chiro..  I'm just so nervous to do ANYTHING that could potentially harm my baby.  I happen to know a women who has been practicing for a while.  I'll talk to her.

I have started doing Yoga just in the past couple days.  It seems to help.  I've ordered a yoga video just for mommies to be!

Thanks again!

I only had major lower back ache at he end my pregnancies. At the 3rd one I finally went to a gentle chiropractor, recommended by my midwife. It did wonders!

In general: drink some Raspberry leaf tea, do yoga and/or swimming.

Good luck...
Esther
