Immunizations October 17, 2006 9:43 AM

Hi, I'm new to the site. I have a lot of questions on immunizations and my three month old boy. I've had no problem finding information on the risks and such. From what I've read I would like to find an alternative approach. The problem is finding info on what to do after you decide that you would rather not put your child at risk. I would love a resource that can direct me to doctors in my area that support my decision and give info on how to handle school enrollment and other related topics. I've also seen references to delaying immunizations...I'd like to see a suggested protocol somewhere. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Hi Misty,

Here's a link I bookmarked when my son was a baby.  It's been awhile since I looked at it, but it appears to have info on legal rights and links to other websites dealing with vaccinations.

Hope it's somewhat helpful...or at least a start in the right direction

Thanks Stephanie,

A friend of mine also sent me this great website http://www.vaccineinfo.net/ run by PROVE, an organization here in Texas that helped pass laws that protect parents rights to make their own vaccination decisions. I've learned that the state of Texas in law grants and acknowledges the right of parents to exempt their children from vaccination requirements for day care, school, and college for reasons of conscience. I was very happy to learn this. The more I read about vaccinations the more I regret having my older children immunized. The info just wasn't so readily available pre-internet. I'm glad I know now.
