What Does Art Give You? June 27, 2007 1:30 PM

My name is John and I got into art at a young age, about 6, I guess. Painting and drawing for me was never about making money, but mostly to have a place to escape to and feel good.

Today, it is also a pain killer for my multiple sclerosis.

What is art for you?

Art for me is, not only a way to make money, it is also a way to express myself. As a photographer, I use my art to witness people, historic places, objects and events, and exhibit them for the public to see. I tell viewers my accounts through the veiwfinder of my camera.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

For me, art is a way to stay sane. I find I can't function normally unless I have something creative going on.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Thank you so much for sharing. This is a great topic! Art for me is definitely therapeutic. It is a great way to express ones self. It can give pleasure to others, and give pleasure to ones self (most importantly). It's also just plain fun! Everyone can make art and, in my humble opinion, everyone should (at least every once in a while).  [ send green star]

for me an outlet from the pressures of work and family situations. I make jewelry as a hobby and love to create and then give away to friends.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

I don't know for sure when I got into art. I remember to play with pencils when I was abnout 4 years old. But from 6 years I know I was drawing each day and also with char coal already early and that has grown in my life.

Early I thought also about why do people understand each other. A question, for my grandmother who was a story teller. She died to early fore me. But when I was 7 we moved to an old city from our middle ages and I met an olf sailor captain white withj a blak suit with golden anchors on the sleeves and on his cap. He told me many stories about seas wild cold warn and silent. Also a real story teller. Found in a recreaction ground. He learned me role playing. Please don't touch that lady there she is touchy. So I don't touch strange women before they teell they want that dearly. And all women here are strange for me.

That old sailor introduced me to a group of gypsies. and then my art education come in the stream. Like a stream of water. On and on.

And now I am an artists and a storyteller in the same time.

I am Ronald with mixed genes Celtic and gypsy.

I live also in an alweather tent in nature. And I have an aquarelle set and paper to paint here. And among poor and isolated people I promote the new ERA, like others do elsewhere. We are from the open source project NNW that is already known over the world for more things.

We are now in tension from the break out of that new ERA.

We have also a long article about ideas for painting, open for everrybody. Artists will get an important job in the new ERA.

You could ask me more. I don't know what you want to hear from me.

Arts is for me also to get my pains out of me. Get rid of my pains. Also some from this care 2 site.

Have a wonderful day

What does art do for you? August 18, 2008 3:36 PM

I personally think anyone is an artist.  It depends on what you are good at.  I am so tired of hearing I can't draw and straight line - well, you certainly can use a ruler!  Art is a smile to someone passing by that just needs it or gentle laughter - listening to a friend who needs to talk-saying just the right word at the right time etc. Grandchildren are a wonderful art in themselves.  I am like some of you though - I have done it all my life and do not feel alive unless I am doing something artistic-I do polyclay sculpture right now because I love it and it also helps the R. A. I have and pain - it keeps my crippling hands moving.  Art gives me and other artists great pleasure, but it also gives others pleasure too.  I have made some money doing art and I do like that, but I would do it any how and any way.  I started drawing and making things as a child.  My friends from way back then remember a 4th grader or younger drawing and using color, which I love. ladybugblue   - Sharon

What does Art do for you? October 05, 2009 9:52 PM

For me, art is an outlet for creativity.  I get so many ideas just by looking at something.  Half of the time, when I try to start a new project, I forget what I was going to do with a specific object.   So I just wait on that until I remember and then I go to it.  I also sell my crafts to help defray the costs of my materials.  I also recycle things like light bulbs, coffee cans, toilet paper tubes, small plastic containers from drink mixes, yogurt, jello, and fruit.   I have a website where I show pics of my crafts -- :    I don't sell from my site, I just list the shows I'll be going to and show pics.  I even list other crafters and include pics if I have them.  Check it out and let me know what you think.  I'm not the greatest photographer, but I'm working on it.  Brightest Blessing everyone!
