Rick H.	LF(CMO) June 03, 2005 10:30 AM The Legion of Frontiersmen (Countess Mountbatten's Own) is a group dedicated to public service. Currently it's members serve in a wide variety of ways, almost anything can be counted as service to the LF(CMO) as any duty in uniform promotes the group. The LF(CMO) has a group of members dedicated to preserving the groups history and it's ties to the military and RCMP. These members train in historical cavalry methods and bring this into modern service by performing historical reenactments and performing mounted search and rescue operations when requested by local authorities. There is also a contingent of paratoopers who perform remote search and rescue duties, and who can be dropped into inaccessible areas. If you are interested in joining this group, please contact me. The activist work many of us do is very hard on the spirit, this is a place to recharge & revitalize. Please remember no petitions or actions here. We all need a break from time to time. Here's a sample of our inspirational posts:The Donkey in the Well One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway, and...well, it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all of his neighbors to come over and help him. They each grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well to cover the donkey. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement, he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer looked down the well, and was astonished at what he saw: as every shovel of dirt hit his back, the donkey would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would continue to shake it off and would take another step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed, as the donkey stepped up and out, over the edge of the well and trotted off. The Moral: Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of your well is to shake off that dirt and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, by never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up! Remember the five simple rules to be happy: 1. Free your heart from hatred. 2.
