The Rising of Kundalini Fire for Conscious Evolution May 04, 2006 11:07 AM
I am borrowing this from a post by Elizabeth in the Dreamspell group which is related to the Mayan Calendar. I am born under the sign of 13 -"Chichan", cosmic red serpent, reptilian brain aka kundalini...
Crystal Moon day 9 Year of the Red Solar Moon
kin 65: Red Cosmic Serpent I Endure in order to Survive Transcending Instinct I seal the Store of Life Force With the Cosmic tone of Presence I am guided by the power of Universal Water
I feel this applies to this group because kundalini is called the Mother Power in Hinduism and therefore, critical (I believe) in humanities next step of evolution which I believe will be consciously induced by a certain percentage of the population until 'critical mass' has been reached and then it could affect the DNA of others on the planet which is prophecised by the ancient maya to occur around Dec. 21, 2012.
Anyway, this is for our reading and discussion pleasure and is a big part of my life so I wanted to share it here, from:
It's a feeling unlike any other. Many ofthose who have experienced it have been fascinated and terrified all at the same time. The sensation often begins as a sudden surge of energy that starts at the base of the spine and rapidly moves upward, giving an individual the clear experience of being plugged into the wall and lit up like a Christmas tree.
The rise of "Kundalini Energy" is as ancient as history itself. It is also called "The Serpentine Fire" as it makes its way up the spinal canal (also called the sushumna) in an alternating spiral that would resemble a pair of intertwining snakes if it were seen clearly for any length of time.
Ageless symbols of healing speak louder about this energy than any description I could give.We see the rise of the Kundalini portrayed very aptly in the design of the Staff of Hermes, also known as the Caduceus. The modern medical profession has adopted this symbol as their standard---two snakes intertwined around a pole that is lifted high for all to see.
In Biblical Literature, we see reference to a staff that was utilized by the Hebrew Prophet, Moses, and the healing power it was purported to have.Around the pole was wrapped a serpent and it was held high above the people.Whoever looked upon that staff with faith could be healed of any affliction.Later, in the gospels, Jesus said of Himself:"As Moses lifted up the staff in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up…."In this, Jesus was apparently making some incredible claims.First, He was equating Himself with the Serpentine Power on the pole.By all appearances, He was saying that the intertwining of that vital life force was, in fact, the very essence of who He was.Millions of people, those currently incarnate and also those who have transitioned in death, could testify of the healing power of that image of Jesus on the cross.
The Reconnections now come to us and offer the viewpoint that the intertwining power of that Kundalini Rise is, in fact, the very essence of who we *all* are.It is a dance of energy that involves both the active and passive elements within the physical universe. As we become balanced, within our physical body, the whole essence of our person (and our perceptual universe) begins to change. We somehow get "turned on," and nothing is ever the same again.
WHAT CAUSES THE KUNDALINI TO RISE ?
The power that comes through the lower part of the body is what energy healers call "Earth Energy."It is the primal self, the physical self, as it connects to the elements: the tides, the winds, the animals, the soil, and the very rhythm of life upon our planet.
The human body is, quite literally, designed to be a *channel* for this energy. In a sense, each of us is a fragment of the total Planetary Soul which is reaching towards the sky. This process of reaching, however, is not without its perils or its fears.Since time began, there has been a certain sense of dread and apprehension about our connections with what's "up there."As we work, as we play, we also *wonder.*We reach for the heavens, but we also shrink back at the same time.
From the moment the body begins to move on its own, the muscular and nervous system begin to compensate for this conflict between curiosity and fear.A child begins to run with complete trust and abandon. He reaches for everything, and nearly drives his parents crazy! However, there are those times when his reaching produces painful results instead of pleasant ones.Perhaps his hand inadvertently touches a flame, or maybe a careless turn causes him to take a nasty tumble that breaks an arm or bruises a leg.
When the child encounters difficulty as a result of his exploration, he can learn to respond in a number of ways.Certainly, he can choose to shrink back and never explore again. Many people have learned to become very passive because of some trauma they suffered within their early childhood. On the other hand, resistance or hardship encountered in his exploration can make a child become very *determined* as well.Like a caterpillar pushing its way out of a cocoon, many children learn to become tenacious about getting what they want and doing whatever they desire, no matter what the consequences!
The balance between determination and hesitancy sets a "tone" in the life of each person. Each of us exists as a crystallization of matter which portrays this tug-o-war between two opposing forces. Some of us embody complete courage and almost foolhardy bravado.Others represent the other end of the spectrum, rarely leaving our houses for fear that something awful will happen to us.Most, however, exist somewhere in between.
FINDING NEUTRALITY
When a soul transitions into the Reconnection Universe, the context of reality where Oneness resides, he brings with him all of the lessons that have been learned within his Soul Group across the ages.He has, at that point, explored every nook and cranny of creation that he cares to, and he is now willing and ready to move out of polarity and return to the state of total Oneness.
When a person's physical and emotional body--during a specific time of meditation, repose, or focused repetitive action--suddenly releases all cares and concerns about "stuff" in his life involving polarization and conflict, that body experiences a remarkable energy shift. It drops all of its compensations and energy blockages and becomes the channel for spirit that many of us have always wanted it to be.In that moment, the Soul of the Earth merges with that individual and sends a tone upward from the base of the spine towards the top of his head (which is also referred to as the "crown chakra.")
The tone of this planet is distinctive, just as the tone which is sent out from a computer modem can be identified by those machines which are designed to receive its messages and form a network of communication. In a real sense, the Kundalini Rising is a kind of "handshake tone" that is sent up from a soul that has prepared itself (perhaps for many lifetimes) to become open to secret knowledge and to truly experience the rest of All That Is.
When this tone moves through the "crown chakra" and out into the cosmos, a correspondent tone hears it and answers back. The recent movie "Contact" is a wonderful portrayal of how all of this works. In the movie, a scientist (portrayed by Jodie Foster) spends her life listening for responses to messages that have been sent from Earth into outer space, hoping for evidence that would provide signs of life "elsewhere."
Truly it is *we* who dwell upon this planet that are the best signs of life elsewhere. In the opening verse of the eleventh chapter of the Book of Hebrews, in the New Testament, the writer says that:"Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."If this be true, then the very fact that scientists and philosophers look up into the heavens, hoping for signs of visitors from other dimensions, is the best "evidence" that they are surely there!
Answering the question of whether or not we see them or talk with them (the alien visitors, that is) is not predicated upon whether or not they are *there.*After all, in the Multiverse, *everything is there.*
The Reconnections tell us that if we can visualize or theorize about something, then it *has to be* real........somewhere.If it weren't, we wouldn't be thinking about it.This principle is as true for an actual Father God and a Mother Goddess, as it is for Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, or for the Devil.
The Kundalini Rise, therefore, is a sign and a signal to the rest of All That Is that we have reached a place of *neutrality* about all the strange and wonderful things that can and do exist. We have made peace with the incredible diversity of the Multiverse, and we are ready to *play!*At that point, the Oneness begins downloading huge amounts of *complimentary shareware* onto the hard drive of our subconscious. This is in preparation for the time when we will actually be able to *log on* to the Inner Net and explore throughout the Multiverse.
Have you been experiencing a strange "humming" or "buzzing" sound in your ears of late? That, I am told, is the download as it is occurring. It may be a bit irritating or distracting, but it has a purpose. And, when the process is complete, we will all be very grateful that we contacted Data Central to get our personal files updated!
SPIRITUAL GROWTH CRISIS
There are some who live on Planet Earth who are currently experiencing a crisis of spiritual growth. Many are not able to achieve the state of neutrality that is mentioned above. They enter an Energy Gate (known as a Trans-Portal), and they begin to move into a whole new reality. However, instead of letting go, and moving quickly into transformation--they hold a part of themselves back. This produces a whole host of diseases, which are currently being classified and dealt with by the medical establishment.
I once heard a gifted channel say: "If you can't learn to follow your spirit without hesitation, then you'll eventually end up following your hesitation without spirit."
I have spoken at length about the symptoms of spiritually-based dis-ease in my articles dealing with "Global Acceleration Syndrome" . The Guides now add some new information, dealing specifically with conditions arising from rapid and unpredicted Kundalini Rise. There are many who are reporting extreme weakness, almost as though the life force is being drained from their body. Some have even contemplated suicide, reporting that they feel there is no further reason for them to live.
In order to live in 3D, we each have to adopt a unique energy "signature," which vibrates according to a certain "stance" or energy attitude. This signature represents a "position" that we take, concerning how we see the planet, ourselves, and life in general. For every polarity configuration (duality dance), we set the "dial" of our consciousness to reflect our attitude towards that subject. It is as though our soul becomes a huge equalizer, like we might find on a stereo sound system, with bass tones, treble tones, and many tones in between.
When Kundalini is activated, a vortex begins to spin--moving upward through each chakra of the body. This energy--which I sometimes call "The Inquisitor"-- will challenge and thoroughly examine each of the "settings" on that Attitudinal Equalizer, to see if they truly fit the essence of who and what a person is. In a sense, it is like death and rebirth, all rolled into one vibratory flow. And it can happy very, very quickly.
DEPRESSION AND FATIGUE
When "The Inquisitor" begins to move, everything comes alive. There is a quickening that occurs, in all parts of a person's body and soul. Shadows are illumined, and covert motives may be revealed. This is not just a mental process. It is a bio-energetic one--dealing with all aspects of human personality at the same time. That is why the movement can be so rapid.
If a Kundalini Rise brings great insight and opens up fresh desire, there may be a sudden and unexpected change in a person's behavior and/or lifestyle. If, instead, it mandates some life change that it totally unacceptable to a person's core self---the resulting backlash can blow the circuits of his or her nervous system.
The Reconnections tell us that a huge percentage of depression and fatigue cases that exist in the world today are the result of Kundalini Activations that were suddenly aborted, due to system incompatibility and energy overload. A certain energy comes knocking, an inner door will slam, and the whole internal power grid goes dark. (For more info on this, see the Recon Transmission called "Conscious Creation" )
Each time "The Inquisitor" comes, there is a new confrontation of opposites. What once was is continually being challenged by what now wants to be. The Guides recently spoke with one woman about her experiences of extreme malaise and feelings of despondency. They told her:
"What you perceive as life force, ebbing from your body, is really the last remnant of a resistance factor that has been present within your family line for generations. It has been built into your character in a number of ways, some of which are still hidden from your view. You might say that what you are feeling (as disease) was downloaded into you, as a virus is injected into a laboratory animal, so that observations can be drawn about its effects (virulence) in the presence of gradually increasing vibratory frequencies.
You must not separate yourself, the patient, from the other parts of you that are the researchers and students of this grand experiment. You are ALL ONE in this process--neither a victim, nor a perpetrator. You are all of it. At your core, there is a desire to KNOW (gnosis) above all other things. The efforts and pains, however pervasive they seem, are considered of small consequence to the deep inner desire you have to KNOW, and UNDERSTAND what humanity is now facing. You wish this knowledge to be personal, intense, graphic, and very real."
FEELING VERSUS INTELLECT
A good deal of the Kundalini Activations that are happening on the planet at this time involve moving a person away from a hyper-masculine (overly rational) orientation to life, and re-installing a respect for emotion, intuition, and the nurturing of self. In other words, they are busy about the task of giving "type A" personalities a kick in the backside to move them more into the "being" part of themselves, rather than doing, doing, doing all of the time.
But in the case illustrated above, the exact opposite was true. Upon examining the root vibration of this person's character, it was discovered that she is tenaciously clinging to her upset emotions and distressed feelings as a deflection away from an intellectual giftedness which could, under the right circumstances, blossom into personal genius. The Guides continue:
"The arousal of that certain element known as "Kundalini".......is, in essence, an awakening of a part of the brain and nervous system that is most denied within the life of that particular 3D human. It is this element which the body interprets as "disease." It is a decision that has been made, a portal that has been entered, which produces certain effects. If a person moves easily through the portal, the effects of the dis-ease are minimal. However, if a soul lingers....hesitates....the effects can be excruciating.
For those who have been trained (for many generations) to deny their innate intelligence, a Kundalini Rise could mean an opening into a deeply intellectual part of themselves that connects directly into the global brain, and hence into the Collective Unconscious. These folks are not afraid of deep feeling. For them, intense emotions are a haven.........a distraction away from what lies buried deep within.
Many family lines have noticed this giftedness (transcendent, focused thought) for several generations........but have blocked access to it because of an innate fear of madness. The madness of which we speak would not be a hysterical craziness--but cold, calculating, and detached awareness...........like Dr. Frankenstein might have, as he assembles his monster from body parts, found in a cemetery. Not a romantic picture, eh? And it is this picture (seen on a subconscious level) that has predisposed your ancestors to lock up these gifts..........and keep them hidden from view, lest you all revert to something that they intuitively felt would be shameful and excessive...........and, most of all.........INHUMAN." <snip>
DJ: I believe it was Marianne Williamson who said: "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us."
Humanity's current collection of rattled emotions, physical symptoms, and runaway feelings are a distraction away from who many of us really are. But they are safe, and in a strange and unusual way.........they feel "normal" to us........familiar. The Guides continue:
FROM BELIEVING TO PERFECT KNOWING
"The dormant traits that lie hidden in your internal strong box shall not turn you into Dr. Frankenstein. Far from it! The fears and anxieties that once persuaded your ancestors to push these gifts of intellect away sprang from an inadequate view of their ultimate power and purpose. They made a judgment call, about your collective soul essence--afraid of what you would become if your genius were to be born out of season.
Now is your season. Now is the time of your (collective) soul's awakening. Before now, and before YOU........it would have been too soon. Now is your time of Spiritual Emergence. Do not be afraid. The Guardian Spirit will protect you! Move forward! Move on into your rightful place, as Conscious Creator and Steward of your domain!
Your frequent impulses to do away with yourself are knee-jerk reactions that spring from an ancient fear that, if this unbridled intellect were allowed to escape and become realized--the being you would become might pose a threat to all those around you, whom you love and cherish. But it will not! It will blend with them, and adapt to those connections...........like an E.T. who has come to Earth to assist humanity during this fateful opening into fullness of life and purpose. This is also true of the gloom and doom prophecies that now hang over the heads of collective humanity. They are nothing more than a suicide threat that is being offered by the whole of the human race!
The "foggy battling" that many of you are experiencing is the last bastion of resistance before the GLOBAL BRAIN awakens. Enjoy this time of hesitation. When it is past, a new dawn awaits! Others who have come before you were lost through their needs to suppress this marvelous faculty of perception and reasoning. Their lives, which were voluntarily terminated with perfect intention and resolve, were kindling for a bonfire of realization that is soon to spread over the whole of Planet Earth. They are not gone, nor was their sacrifice wasted.
We draw to your attention a poem, written by the physical channel, which perfectly exemplifies this process you are in. It is called PASSION, and it rides the waves of Kundalini Excitation, all the way to shore. Enjoy. And then, after you have integrated this material, we encourage you to respond, with any additional questions or insights you may have." <end transmission>

I wanted to post a little info about kundalini from a maya perspective here. This is my reading on the above link but it really applies to everyone. I am only a channel for the info. Apparantly the maya had a similiar word to 'kundalini' (which is Sanskrit)...
and speaking of synchronicities--it seems to be going around with a lot of people -- excerpt from the reading "Olin, the Mayan goddess of movement, asks you to surrender to the perfection of the larger pattern of your Essence Self. From the perspective of surrender and trust, what movement is being called for? Pay attention to synchronicities and seeming coincidences that jump into your awareness. "
DYNAMIC MEDITATION Recommended to be done in the morning, this hour-long method is a powerful way to kick-start your day. It provides an outlet for tension and withheld emotions as well as being a great energy-booster!
KUNDALINI MEDITATION Known as the “sister meditation” to Dynamic, with four stages of fifteen minutes each this method is a gentle yet effective way to release all the accumulated stress of your day.
Yes, I know this post is an old one, but with so much comeing out with the 'end of the world' coming (at least to all the whoevers talking about the Mayan calender) I just had to.
Just some info, so maybe you will understand WHY this whole subject is close to my heart....my date of birth is 12/21/1964...and no, it doesn't seem like anything...until you see that whatever is supposed to happen, happens on 12/21/2012. Now, I don't know what it all means. Honestly, I am planning on just watching. BUT, my drivers license ends that day (lucky me). So, I get to spend the day at the local DMV (or do I???).
I followed those links...and found out I am a Blue Electric Hand. I have seen that before, on another site I belong to, but until now had no clue what it ment. Thanks Donna! You start the best discussions!
We are already in the process of mass "kundalini rising." Consciousness has risen DRAMATICALLY in the past 20 years and is continuing to do so as I write.
Currently, more than 2 million groups throughout the world, the largest number ever in existence, are joined in a sacred effort to raise consciousness and the quality of LIFE of all beings on Earth. This level of commitment to rising consciousness is without historical precedent.
We are already there...time now, natural time now. Kundalini rising for all!
"One often hears and reads about the dangers of Yoga, particularly of the ill-reputed Kundalini Yoga. The deliberately induced psychotic state, which in certain unstable individuals might easily lead to a real psychosis, is a danger that needs to be taken very seriously indeed. These things really are dangerous and ought not to be meddled with in our typically Western way. It is a meddling with Fate, which strikes at the very roots of human existence and can let loose a flood of sufferings of which no sane person ever dreamed. These sufferings correspond to the hellish torments of the chönyid state..." C. G. Jung, Introduction to The Tibetan book of the Dead *

Someone contacted me offline and told me they were feeling a "tendancy toward self-annihilation". I wanted to address that here as I am sure others are feeling the same. There is actually a good explanation for this and hopefully we can turn this around.
This is a fairly common feeling for shamanic people to have in our days of modern novelty and shallowness that seem to be the status quo on the planet. The role of shaman has been lost but the lineage of the shaman lives on. If you have a history of 'mental illness' or suicide in your family then you are probably in that lineage.
You could be feeling the pull of the archetype of death and rebirth and may need to create some sort of ritual and ask this archetype to guide you and help you to understand. This is a motif in mythology that we are all familiar with. Please don't take this call to 'death' so seriously. I would suggest studying some of the death/rebirth goddesses and asking them to guide you on this journey into yourself if you understand what I am saying.
A shamanic initiation is a sort of death to the person you are now and a rebirth into a new way of being. Perhaps you are being called into an initiation as a pioneer into hyperspace?
I want to recommend this video which may answer some questions and make you smile:
"During awakening, ones' collection of personal karma has to
be burned away, at one point or another. Doing that involves suffering by the
individual. The karma is stored in the body tissues somehow, and when kundalini
goes through and purges out all the nadis, this karma is released either as a
side effect, or direct action (I can't tell which) and it causes the suffering
when released. Some people may have "Happy" karma in there that causes them Joy,
or the opposite of suffering. As far as I could tell, 99% of mine was
soot-black. On a small number of occasions (far too few) I had experiences of
spontaneous joy. But mostly it ranges from very stressful, wired, and
unpleasant, to dark and despondent. Along with everything else I got a replay of
every disease symptom and injury pain I've ever had or was scheduled to
have.
In general, the faster the awakening proceeds, the more
intense the suffering, since the same amount of karma has to be dealt with over
a shorter time. And the stress on the organism would be proportionately greater.
Should the suffering become too intense, the person could easily become
suicidal. If a person took too large a dose, perhaps you can see that the effect
would begin to approximate an internal explosion of energy and karma, and could
exceed what the human body and spirit can withstand and still remain connected
together.
But I don't want to over state the situation either: it was
bad, but it wasn't *that* bad. It wasn't undoable; I would say even a frail
person could do it with care and prudence. I cannot imagine a better method than
WPG to accomplish this, to bring the opportunity for awakening to the people at
large.
There are also some built-in safety checks at work: (1)
Kundalini is a *supremely intelligent force*; she knows *exactly* what she is
doing. You will be amazed at how hard it works for you and for your benefit when
you see it in action fighting disease, or healing an injury. The ultimate
physician to have on your side during an awakening. (2) Having control of the
dosage (or pranayama intensity in my case) allows you to back off when things
get too tough. You can go at your own rate. (3) The higher self watches the
whole thing like a hawk. Success is not guaranteed, but you should not be
discouraged just because it is not roses all the way either. Just know what
you're getting into before you start. Its a one-way ride.
The Dark Night of the Soul that Dave's friend is, or was,
going through is how it is while this is going on. Ego death is the culmination
of it. Lets all hope that he came through it, and is ok now. My hat is off to
him. I would have *loved* to have been alone in the desert."
*Folks interested in information about Sarvo's points on what he calls "Ojas Shakti", please refer to this thread...
perhaps the writings of Krishnamurti on "kundalini rising," may help clarify as well as abate fears about "reactions." he appears to believe as i do...it is different for all...am quite humbled by this fact.
Glad it was so simple for you. I have been doing kundalini work for over ten years at a slow pace because I have had to work and earn a living. I can say that the dark night of the soul has taught me just as much as the light. I think the problem for some folks is that they get stuck there in the dark without understanding that there really is no such thing as darkness. Every atom in the universe is emitting light, luminescent darkness is what I call it. I first saw it when I was in the Northride quake tring to run down a flight of stairs that were moving. I saw light eminating from the darkness which led me safely down the stairs.
I look at the dark night of the soul as a sort of test or karma burning process. It is the last chance to get certain lessons, a commitment to do so. A lot of folks in my pagan community are talking about it and experiencing it right now. Some say it is unavoidable but I am not so certain.
I think there are some people who have different spiritual jobs. Some of us lead a more shamanic path and we travel to the dark realms to help people. For those, I believe it is unavoidable. For others who work in different realms, I cannot say. I hear there is a tendancy for folks to have moments of 'enlightenment' they think they are there. Dr. Wayne Dyer warns of not confusing the signposts with the destination. I believe I will continue to do this work until 2012 or until I start levitating, whichever comes first...
I am vaguely familiar with Krishnamurti but have not felt drawn to read any of his teachings. I studied the teachings of Yogananda and Gopi Krishna from that line of thought. Now I am just following my inner guidance system...
I agree that this work has to be done with due care and attention and like others I have concentrated on 'basics' before bonfires... I had a weird experience, it just about made me fall on the floor, I feel it was a burst of Kundalini energy as it started in my root chakra and exploded right through the top of my head. I lost my vision for a moment and my eyes rolled into the back of my head. Thankfully I was standing at a counter (I was in a tire shop) and when I felt my knees go out from under me I grabbed for the counter and leaned. That happened last spring... many, many things have happened since then.
And just for the fun of it, this is 'me':
Planetary Moon day 22 Year of the Blue Spectral Storm
kin 232: Yellow Spectral Human I Dissolve in order to Influence Releasing Wisdom I seal the Process of Free Will With the Spectral tone of Liberation I am guided by my own power doubled
I believe I get a similar sensation sometimes. I have gotten it from doing the Breath of Fire exercise. Here is a video...
I count my breaths in increments of 108, 54, or 27. At the end when the breath is released, I then inhale deeply and do a root lock pulling the energy up my spine and out the top of my head and hold as long as I can. SWEET SENSATION!
Kundalini is a pool of energy that lies dormant at the base of the spine and which can be and often is, accessed, allowing the student/victim to use the energy for health, spirituality and creating their life as they were meant to live it.
It's my belief that many people have had full or even partial awakenings of their kundalini energy and honestly don't recognize it.
Many of these people go through life seemingly unaffected, some seek higher spiritual planes and others suffer from epilepsy, schizophrenia or worse.
Lately Kundalini has become a fad in certain parts of the metaphysical community and in some ways has become the ultimate New Age ego trip, although I feel that many of those folks are completely missing the point.
A persons Kundalini can be awakened through an emotional trauma, a near death experience, a sharp blow to the coccyx or purposefully through meditation and study.
Those who seek to purposefully access their Kundalini can choose several methods, including Kundalini Yoga (extremely safe and takes upwards of 10-20 years to accomplish) and Hoshin Roshi Ryu (a "Martial Art" form created to specifically awaken the kundalini through meditation and physical training).
I don't believe that there is a 'wrong' or a 'right' way to awaken your kundalini and there are benefits to most any path chosen.

I've been experiencing a kundalini energy for a few years now, and it can be quite disorienting. It's been helpful to find people of like-mind to discuss it with. Anne, this discussion is quite the synchronicity for me. Thanks for leading me here. There are so many resources that I will absorb as I have time.
I expect with this new energy coming that we will be finding more and more people who are beginning this process. And, it can be both exhilerating and intimidating. My hope is that they will find comfort here, and that I will be able to lead them to it!
Thanks everyone for your contributions. They're a gift
I'm glad other people are starting to feel it. As you can see this topic was introduced a while back and the interest has really picked up of late.
My guides have told me to only give the information if it is asked for and the activity here is indicating that now people are asking.
My intention in going into the dark night of the soul is not to scare people away just to let folks know that it can be difficult work at times but extremely rewarding. I have actually been in the darkest part of my descent to the underworld in the past 6 months although it actually started ten years ago. I doubt it will take that long for others but I have to say I went pretty deep and in the past 3 months of it I have received some of the deepest and most profound truths of my life. Ultimately, that is what it is about.
She will give you whatever you need to open yourself up if you ask for it or invoke it, so no worries...
I am grateful for this wealth of information here. I have had so many interesting & also tramatizing experiences in my life yet I have only just begun to awaken to the process of enlightenment. Since this last year I have been wanting to get into Yoga yet I felt so stuck. When I was a preteen I remember trying a karate kick like my brothers to see how high we could kick & falling on my ass so hard it slid my L-5 vertibrea almost off my sacrum. I didn't realize it unil I was 24 & by then it was affixiated & the guy taking the x-ray was supprised I could walk at all. In my early 40's I could no longer walk up the stairs without sciatic pain & polymyalgia which made me so depressed that I had to move from my townhouse. I told myself if I'm going to move I want to live as close to Yosemite National Park as I could, got a map & saw Mariposa & I just love butterflies so a year later I was here. Since I've been here in here I have been truely going through a metamorphisis. I took a massage therapy class & half my pain went away with the help of kenesiology ... went to a chiropractor & it helped too. Yet the real transformation came when I saw an accupunturist & he told me we hold our emotions in our kidneys & liver & gave me Chinese herbs which took all the pain away. Now I can really dance!... just need more disipline, lol
I really want to do yoga especially after reading Anne's info & straiten up my spine even more & perhaps get my Kundalini Fire to rise or just a few inches taller, lol Donna, I would really like to meet with you when I'm in the bay area Easter weekend or sometime soon.
As scync would have it I happened to be visiting my parents in the Bay Area one day last year & so bored I called Alan, my butterfly friend & met his friends that are into the 13 moon calandar. As John did my chart he was suprised I was the same sign as him! They invited to A Day Out of Time last summer in SF which was so fun & I've been learning more about the Mayans everyday which I find so fasinating.

Here's an article I'd like to share. The serpent at the base of the spine is a metaphor for the energy which is at the base of every atom in the universe... The Cosmic Serpent
by Jeremy Narby
The Cosmic Serpent by Jeremy Narby takes a serious look at how neurogenetic consciousness informs awareness, knowledge, symbolism and culture. His comparison of the ancient cosmic serpent myths to the genetic situation in every living cell reveals the immortal biomolecular wizard behind the curtain of everyday life. His anthropological study, ayahuasca experience and scientific speculations weave a tale of shamans who bring their consciousness down to molecular levels with sophisticated neurotransmitter potions in order to perceive information contained in the coherent visible light emitted by DNA.
Some excerpts from this important book:
Some biologists describe DNA as an "ancient high biotechnology," containing "over a hundred trillion times as much information by volume as our most sophisticated information storage devices." Could one still speak of technology in these circumstances? Yes, because there is no other word to qualify this duplicable, information-storing molecule. DNA is only ten atoms wide and as such constitutes a sort of ultimate technology: It is organic and so miniturized that it approaches the limits of material existence.
Shamans, meanwhile, claim that the vital principle that animates all living creatures comes from the cosmos and is minded.
As ayahuasquero Pablo Amaringo says: "A plant may not talk, but there is a spirit in it that is conscious, that sees everything, which is the soul of the plant, its essence, what makes it alive." According to Amaringo these spirits are veritable beings, and humans are also filled with them: "Even the hair, the eyes, the ears are full of beings. You see all this when ayahuasca is strong."
In their visions, shamans take their consciousness down to the molecular level and gain access to information related to DNA, which they call "animate essences" or "spirits." This is where they see double helixes, twisted ladders, and chromosome shapes. This is how shamanic cultures have known for millennia that the vital principle is the same for all living beings, and is shaped like two entwined serpents (or a vine, a rope, ladder...). DNA is the source of their astonishing botanical and medicinal knowledge, which can be attained only in defocalized and "nonrational" states of consciousness, though its results are empirically verifiable. The myths of these cultures are filled with biological imagery, and the shamans metaphoric explanations correspond quite precisely to the descriptions that biologists are starting to provide.
DNA and the cell-based life it codes for are an extremely sophisticated technology that far surpasses our present-day understanding and that was initially developed elsewhere than on earth?which it radically transformed on its arrival some four billion years ago.
If one stretches out the DNA contained in the nucleus of a human cell, one obtains a two-yard long thread that is only ten atoms wide (and the two ribbons that make up this filament wrap around each other several hundred million times). This thread is a billion times longer than its own width. Relatively speaking, it is as if your little finger stretched from Paris to Los Angeles.
A thread of DNA is much smaller than the visible light humans perceive. Even the most powerful optical microscopes can not reveal it, because DNA is approximately 120 times narrower than the smallest wavelength of visible light.
The nucleus of a cell is equivalent in volume to 2-millionths of a pinhead. The two-yard thread of DNA packs into this minute volume by coiling up endlessly on itself, thereby reconciling extreme length and infinitesimal smallness, like mythical serpents.
In the early 1980s, thanks to the development of a sophisticated measurement device, a team of scientists demonstrated that the cells of all living beings emit photons at a rate of up to approximately 100 units per second and per square centimeter of surface area. They also showed that DNA was the source of this photon emission.
The wavelength at which DNA emits these photons corresponds exactly to the narrow band of visible light: "Its spectral distribution ranges at least from infrared (at about 900 nanometers) to ultraviolet (up to about 200 nanometers)"...DNA emits photons with such regularity that researchers compare the phenomenon to an "ultra-weak laser." (see History of Biophotonics)
Inside the nucleus, DNA coils and uncoils, writhes and wriggles. Scientists often compare the form and movements of this long molecule to those of a snake.
Inside the nucleus, DNA coils and uncoils, writhes and wriggles. Scientists often compare the form and movements of this long molecule to those of a snake.
There...is the source of knowledge: DNA, living in water and emitting photons, like an aquatic dragon spitting fire.

Calling on Chichan, Kundalini, Cosmic Red Serpent March 13, 2008 2:51 PM
Red Serpent is your Conscious Self - who you are and who you are becoming.
"I am the flint and tinder of the sacred fire," reads the meditation for Red Serpent. In the Great Mystery, flint and tinder represent the instinctive combustion that initiates movement in the physical body toward union with Spirit. When flint and tinder are brought together, the spark of divinity awakens and ignites the fire of your essence. Red Serpent invites the purifying spark of the sacred fire, the kundalini, to align and integrate your body, mind and spirit. Red Serpent can help you uncover apparent blockages in specific chakras to clear an align them. If you are working on a process of purification, invite Red Serpent to assist you. Red Serpent's symbol is the serpent, representing healing and wholeness.
This Mayan medicine can remove toxins, rejuvenate and transform dis-ease. Red Serpent is also known by the Maya as the kultanlilni, or kundalini, the energy that moves up from the base of the spine and out through the crown chakra. There are two aspects of this force, the ida and the pingala, representing its male and female polarities. One of the ancient secrets of Red Serpent is the activation of higher states of consciousness through balancing these two polarities so that they dance within us as one. Another metaphor for this serpent energy comes from the Mayan words luk umen tun ben can, or "those absorbed by the serpent of the sacred knowledge." When the seven chakras are fully activated, one experiences an enlightened state.
Red Serpent represents the basic structural apparatus of your motivations, instincts, desires, and your innate movement toward wholeness. Red Serpent asks you to shed the skin of your past and step into the fires of alchemical transmutation. In this, rebirth is revealed. This desire is an innate response encoded in the depths of your being.
With the energy of Red Serpent, you learn to use the innate intelligence of the body. In this culture you may have become separated from this wisdom. It works like this: when you suppress and ignore your issues, your body receives and retains the unconscious metaphors of that which is ignored. This may be expressed through physical symptoms that bring your unconscious issues to conscious awareness. When this happens, work toward a more conscious relatonship with your body - and work with the physical metaphors in order to heal yourself on all levels.
The body has a specific kind of consciousness through which messages are clearly delivered. In fact, the body itself is a living metaphor that mirrors your mind, emotions and spirit. However, the body also remembers all it has experienced, and consequently holds the consciousness of the past within it, including past wounds and traumas. In healing these, remember the innocence of your body. Treat it with love and respect. Open yourself to be aware of its messages and metaphors rather than storing them. Be willing to look at the positive intent beneath any symptoms or physical process your body is using to communicate. Explore whatever it may be asking you to see.
In this alignment process, you can use images or energies that come to you in meditation or dreams. Journey through your body to catalyze and explore any sensations, colors, shapes, or images. In these times we have a profound opportunity to transcend both our physical and our spiritual genetics. The body's integration provides an unparalleled opportunity for personal evolution. Learn to expand and utilize your senses to access your body's wisdom and vitality. Don't 'think' about it; simply allow your body to sense intuitively the solutions necessary for change and growth.
Red Serpent also represents the connection between powerful physical/ecstatic experiences and the light of higher consciousness. This is an initiation of awakening through the body and senses, rather than in negation of them. As Jose Arguelles says in The Mayan Factor, "Like the Maya, we shall understand that the path to the stars is through the senses." Within the body are held the keys to fully awakening our consciousness. This deeper understanding is expressed in tantric practices, where spirituality and sexuality are integrated and honoured as a means to enlightenment. Red Serpent represents the integration of mind, body and spirit.
Use the body as a tool for transformation. Learn how to use passion and the senses as a means of access and alignment to higher consciousness. Follow your gut-level intuitions and instincts to make choices in the moment.
Be willing to look at issues you have concerning intimacy and sexuality. Make sure that you are not separated from the dance of passion that is in union with your divine nature. Sense your deeper desire for union and intimacy. Red Serpent calls on you to awaken your vitality, body wisdom, and passion for life.
Red Serpent is associated with the sacred tools of the drum and the rattle. Drums and rattles can break down old patterns or bring energy into alignment.

i just start to meditate to open my chakra and feel the energe in a group follow shri mataji's teaching. Anyone heard about her? It said when the base chakra awaken, i will be automatic ground and centered, and always know if my action right or not. That appeal to me a lot for i just healing from love others too much. Havn't feel big effect yet any guidance will be highly welcome
hi cherry, i'm not familiar with shri mataji. the base/root chakra is very important. i will post some videos soon on chakra meditations on this thread:
It is good to be able to control the opening and closing of the chakras with your minds eye so they are strong and harmonized, not closed and not wide open. It is normal for them to get out of balance and need a 'tune up'. The root chakra will allow you to connect to the core of the Earth to help you remain grounded during kundalini episodes so you can maintain control here on Earth and not get to 'airy'. As a gemini I have to constantly ground myself by doing a base chakra connection and a variety of other things to help me stay grounded. If you ever do leave your body your connection with Mother Earth will bring you back by a silver umbilical cord. Keep up the good work Cherry.

The entire second half of the book deals extensively with kundalini. It
also includes the original Sanskrit and photographs of all the asanas.
Kundalini Signs & Symptoms
- Many individuals whose Kundalini has been unexpectedly unleashed DO
NOT KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING, and the prevailing social ignorance about
this multidimensional transformative process makes it hard to find
medical or alternative health practitioners or spiritual advisors who
recognize the symptoms, particularly when they are strongly physical.

O Devi! Thou art the mind, the sky, the air, the fire, the water, and the earth.
Nothing is outside Thee on Thy transformation. Thou hast become Sivas consecrated
queen to alter Thy own blissful conscious Form in the shape of the world.
Kundalini, the serpent power or mystic fire, is the primordial energy or Sakti that
lies dormant or sleeping in the Muladhara Chakra, the centre of the body. It is called the
serpentine or annular power on account of serpentine form. It is an electric fiery occult
power, the great pristine force which underlies all organic and inorganic matter.
Kundalini is the cosmic power in individual bodies. It is not a material force like
electricity, magnetism, centripetal or centrifugal force. It is a spiritual potential
Sakti or cosmic power. In reality it has no form. The Sthula Buddhi and mind have to
follow a particular form in the beginning stage. From this gross form, one can easily,
understand the subtle formless Kundalini. Prana, Ahamkara, Buddhi, Indriyas, mind, five
gross elements, nerves are all the products of Kundalini.
It is the coiled-up, sleeping Divine Sakti that lies dormant in all beings. You have
seen in the Muladhara Chakra that there is Svayambhu Linga. The head of the Linga is the
space where Sushumna Nadi is attached to the Kanda. This mysterious Kundalini lies face
downwards at the mouth of Sushumna Nadi on the head of Svayambhu Linga. It has three and a
half coils like a serpent. When it is awakened, it makes a hissing sound like that of a
serpent beaten with a stick, and proceeds to the other Chakra through the Brahma Nadi,
which is also called Chitra Nadi within Sushumna. Hence Kundalini is also called
Bhujangini, serpent power. The three coils represent the three Gunas of Prakriti: Sattva,
Rajas and Tamas, and the half represents the Vikritis, the modification of Prakriti.
Kundalini is the Goddess of speech and is praised by all. She Herself, when awakened by
the Yogin, achieves for him the illumination. It is She who gives Mukti and Jnana for She
is Herself that. She is also called Sarasvati, as She is the form of Sabda Brahman. She is
the source of all Knowledge and Bliss. She is pure consciousness itself. She is Brahman.
She is Prana Sakti, the Supreme Force, the Mother of Prana, Agni, Bindu, and Nada. It is
by this Sakti that the world exists. Creation, preservation and dissolution are in Her.
Only by her Sakti the world is kept up. It is through Her Sakti on subtle Prana, Nada is
produced. While you utter a continuous sound or chant Dirgha Pranava !
(OM), you will distinctly feel that the real
vibration starts from the Muladhara Chakra. Through the vibration of this Nada, all the
parts of the body function. She maintains the individual soul through the subtle Prana. In
every kind of Sadhana the Goddess Kundalini is the object of worship in some form or the
other.
Kundalini has connection with subtle Prana. Subtle Prana has connection with the subtle
Nadis and Chakras. Subtle Nadis have connection with the mind. Mind has connection all
through the body. You have heard that there is mind in every cell of the body. Prana is
the working force of the body. It is dynamic. This static Sakti is affected by Pranayama
and other Yogic practices and becomes dynamic. These two functions, static and dynamic,
are termed sleeping and awakening of the Kundalini.

According to the philosophy of Tantra, the entire universe is a
manifestation of pure consciousness. In manifesting the universe, this
pure consciousness seems to become divided into two poles or aspects,
neither of which can exist without the other.
One aspect,
Shiva, is masculine, retains a static quality and remains identified
with unmanifested consciousness. Shiva has the power to be but not the
power to become or change.
The other aspect, Shakti, is
feminine, dynamic, energetic and creative. Shakti is the Great Mother
of the universe, for it is from her that all form is born.
All
that is found in the cosmos can be found within each individual, and
the same principles that apply to the universe apply in the case of the
individual being. Kundalini Shakti is a sexual energy; Kundalini
Shakti is conceived as a goddess, then, when it rises to the head, it
unites itself with the Supreme Being, Lord Shiva.
The aspirant
becomes engrossed in deep meditation and infinite bliss. This raw
energy is the secret tool, which, when awakened, has the power to
transform an individual from ordinary to exceptional.
Kundalini (kuṇḍalinī कुण्डलिनी Sanskrit, literally "coiled". In
Indian yoga, a "corporeal energy"[1] - an unconscious, instinctive or
libidinal force or Shakti, envisioned either as a goddess or else as a
sleeping serpent coiled at the base of the spine,[2][3][4] hence a
number of English renderings of the term such as 'serpent power'.
Kundalini is considered a part of the subtle body along with chakras
(energy centres) and nadis (channels). The overall concept has many
points in common with Chinese acupuncture.
Yoga and Tantra
propose that this energy may be "awakened" by such means as
austerities, breath and other physical exercises, visualization and
chanting. It may then rise up a subtle channel at the spine (called
Sushumna) to the head, bringing psychological illumination. Each chakra
is said to contain special characteristics.[5] Yogis tend to attempt
this alone, Tantrics in couples, both usually under the instruction of
a guru.
Kundalini Shakti is conceived as a goddess, then,
when it rises to the head, it unites itself with the Supreme Being
(Lord Shiva). The aspirant becomes engrossed in deep meditation and
infinite bliss.[ A number of models of this esoteric subtle anatomy
occur in the class of texts known as Āgamas or Tantras, a large body of
scriptures, rejected by many orthodox brahmins.[8] In early texts there
are various systems of chakras and nadis, with varying connections
between them. Over time a system of six or seven chakras up the spine
was adopted by most schools. This particular system, which may have
originated in about the 11th century AD, rapidly became widely
popular.[9] This is the conventional arrangement cited by
Monier-Williams, where the chakras are defined as "6 in number, one
above the other".[10]
The most famous of the Yoga Upanishads,
the Yogatattva, mentions four kinds of yoga, one of which, laya-yoga,
involves Kundalini.[11] Another source text for the concept is the
Hatha Yoga Pradipika written by Swami Svatmarama (English translation,
1992) somewhere between the twelfth and fifteenth centuries
