Deployed Sailor and his little bro April 12, 2009 11:31 PM

I am not sure how to write this so here it goes.

My nine year old son has a big brother through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program of America. His big brother is in the United States Navy and deployed for West Pac in January. We have kept in contact with him through letters and emails.

Jonathan is his name and he is the most wonderful young man I have met in a long time. He has brought sunshine into my nine year olds life. Teaching him to catch a baseball, roller blading while the little guy rides his bike. Going to castle park to climb on their rock wall. So many things Jonathan has done for my son.

I am writing this to ask that anyone who would like to send Jonathan a letter or card please let me know. I know he would appreciate the mail. There's a few  other things he would appreciate as well. Like Scott toilet tissue (lol, it is soft and last longer) and not at all like the boat's t.p. Beef jerky, homemade cookies etc.

If you would be interested in sending this great guy a little something, a letter, anything please contact me and I will put you in touch with him directly. He doesn't come home until August and we are counting down the days to the half way mark of deployment. Please do not send money....that is not what he needs. He needs support, encouragement and the knowledge that what he does each and every day matters to someone somewhere out there.

Light and love,

Lisa
