Pagan Health Ministries Survey October 13, 2009 7:40 PM
I am conducting a study. I have been a Pagan for ages (since 1997) and have since learned quite a lot about Christianity too. The one thing I see that Christianity has going is it's charity base. Pagans seem to lack a huge charity base. Now I agree, there are so many social issues that need dealt with ...that Pagans need a huge charity base NOW.
But there was one thing that Bugged me to no end, Christians even have their own health charity. I know a ton of people literally dying slowly from infections because they don't have the money to go to the doctor (about 50 dollars) and to get medicine (about 30 dollars U. Even though they are poor, they either make too much for Medicaid or are not "accepted" by the local Christian Conservative Social Workers.
These people potentially have no where to turn except a Christian Health Ministry. I do not think ANYONE should ever be put in this situation, but absent a government solution...something must be done. I have devised a survey. It is anonymous, so you never give truly identifying information... not even an email address. It asks basic questions about what you will and will not want in a Pagan Health Ministry and what behaviors you would or would not accept to get a cheaper membership. Some survey takers have likened the idea to a co-op. Memmebrs would get to vote on all choices about future insurance once it does (IF it does) get started.
Here's the catch, we need at least 100 people to take the survey. It is only open through Samahin. If 100 people take the survey and show genuine interest, this project has a chance. Other wise it does not. So please take the survey and ask your friends to do the same. Take our Online Survey
