Thanks for posting Madras.
I am an Alley Cats Advocate and the new website is awesome. They are soon going to be adding some new features that we can participate in including the street teams.
BTW, wanted to let Chrissy know that I contacted Alley Cats this weekend and got the plans for 2 different cat shelters to make, one plan is like yours and the other is a very simple one you can make with 2 different sizes of Sterlite plastic containers and rubber tubing. Both the plans are on the Alley Cats Allies website. Hubby is going to start on some this weekend.
There are also some places listed that sell these online from 40.00- 70.00, but the shipping is high because of the weight of the shelters.
Can't wait to get mine done!

Alley Cat Allies - Changing The World For Feral Cats
July 9, 2008
Thanks to the support of loyal donors like you, we've been very busy this month protecting feral cats around the country. Here are just a few of our current projects and successes:
Supporting Local Efforts
This
past month, Richmond's Fox affiliate, WRLH-TV, contracted with a pest
control company to eradicate a colony of feral cats who made their home
on station property. Before they could be stopped, three cats were
trapped and killed, and many more remained in harms way when the
company brought bulldozers on site to eliminate the cats homes. Alley
Cat Allies quickly offered our help to the Richmond SPCA to negotiate
with the pest control company. A community of rescuers came together to
protect the rest of the cats, who are now safe from danger and will be
trapped, spayed or neutered, and returned. And now the operator of the pest control company is facing up to a year in jail on charges of unnecessarily killing feral cats. Click here to read the Alley Cat Allies' press release.
Opposing Cruel Policies
The
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service ( FWS ) has proposed a plan to kill the
cats of San Nicholas Island using cruel leghold traps and hunters with
dogs. In response to the plan, Alley Cat Allies encouraged
advocates take action and over 5,000 emails were sent to FWS opposing
the plan. In addition, Alley Cat Allies has issued
formal comments criticizing FWS for failing to provide any evidence
that such killing is necessary or even beneficial, and for rejecting
Trap-Neuter-Return.

Counting the Lives of our Nation's Cats
Alley
Cat Allies is proud to announce the launch of our Lives Count, Secrets
Kill Campaign. This campaign will expose the animal control pound and
shelter system's failures. Not only are millions of cats continuing to
be killed, but this killing is done in secret, away from the public
eye, and off the record. While a few facilities keep track of their
intake and kill rates, only a few states require record keeping or
reporting. The public needs to know that their tax dollars and
donations are being spent irresponsibly. Through the Lives Count,
Secrets Kill Campaign, Alley Cat Allies will urge state governments to
pass laws requiring these facilities to keep track of every cat who
enters their care. These are not just numbers, they are lives, and we
demand humane care.

Coming Soon: Better Tools for Educating Citizens
Alley Cat Allies is hard
at work developing a new website that will be a central resource for
concerned citizens, caregivers, and advocates in our movement to stop
the killing cats. Highlights of the new website will include: easy
sign-up forms to help new advocates join the movement, step-by-step
instructions for proper feral cat care, and countless opportunities for
citizens to take action to oppose the killing of cats. The website
will be launched later this month so be on the lookout for this
exciting development.
