Introduce Yourself, Welcome!
Introduce yourself here. Describe your experience with petitions. Tell your story of changing the world to make it a better place. Share your needs Share your success story. Share what you have to offer others.
Thanks
I had once put up a petition had some signatures and then it was taken down with no notice. I had put up one for a stricter more legal jail time instead of what they give now for animal abuse. Its not fair for the animals to be suffering when we can try our hardest to stop this. If we get it to more then 2 years maybe it will tell these people that hurting an animal is not worth thier time of being locked up without family or friends.I had wrote to Care 2 but got no response to why they took it down.
Thank you!
Thank you for hosting this group. I find it informative and to the point!

If a petition hasn't got a certain amount of signatures within a certain period of time,care2 reserve the right to take it down. Hope this helps!
hi everyone, well, I actually wrote my first petition about 5 mths ago that deal with getting Puppy Mills outlawed. I got so sick of seeing the images of what goes on in those places, I had to do something.

Mike

hi yall'! i'm C.C....i guess i'm what u'd call an 'activist~in~training' of sorts...i have yet to write my own petition, but, i'm here to learn...and i have certainly signed many...and supported many causes in other ways since coming to C2 last spring!

may love & harmony fill all your days and you enjoy complete inner~peace!

Peace & Prayers, C.C.

Hi all and to CC for the invitation.  I've only written one petition so far...for testing on cats at the University of Kentucky.
Hello
I have not written Petitions but willing to learn to help the voiceless one's. I Love animals and so soft hearted and breaks easy and sometimes upset and I can step it on up.
I just want to thak Dave for the invite.  I just submitted a story on a Woman who cut off a baby Parrots leg to get the tag off so she could steal it.  Her court appearance has been postponed.  I just need some help to get a petition started on this story.  They say she could serve some jail time.

Love Peace Blessings Hugs and Prayers to all
Thanks for the invite!
I can be summed up pretty much by the fact that I have more respect for animals than most people.  I've been vegetarian for 15 years and I'm mostly vegan at this point - working on going 100% vegan.  I've been writing and signing petitions for about the same amount of time, as I went vegetarian when I first discovered the tortures of animal cruelty.  Since then I've been advocating for animals every chance I get!  So, thanks for inviting me - I look forward to making even more of a difference!
Hi I'm Dorothy
Thanks for the invite.I too have more time for animals than others. It will be good to be able to navigate the site better.Look forward to seeing what is going on in the world.

Thanks so much for the invite!
I hope to learn a lot from this group and hope to start to start
posting petitions soon. I am still kind of new to all of this, but
my desire is there!  I am glad to be here and any help would
be great. I can not even figure out how to work some of these
things to send to someone's page or my own. oh well all that does not matter so much,as what we are here for to help.
the power of uniting...
Petitions are very important. By yourself, you are only one voice, one person with one little stone... together united, with every personal little stone, we can build mountains.

I have started many petitions regarding sadistic traditions, e.g.  torturing animals till death during fiestas in Spain - villages chasing and throwing darts at the animals, hanging of the dogs - the piano death.... For me it was also a way to spread the word. Very little people know what is happening here in Spain. The word is still spreading after many years...

This month I have been working hard to get as many votes for FoST. This small organziation (Foundation of Sustainable Technologies) is one of the finalists in the World Challenge 2007. Their work is very important for the environment and they are also helping, educating and empowering poor communties, women, handicapped, orphans... For more info please visit my personal site: www.gorpproductions.com
Thank you for the invitation Eric. I have always signed petitions, but I must admit I have never made a petition, so I can really going to learn plenty from everybody. Here to learn definitely. lol.

Michelle

Eric for the invitation. Looking forward to learning and participating in the group.
THANKS!

Thansk Eric, for inviting me here. One thing I know about petitions that it is very hard to get them signed. If you get a lot of publicity it might start rolling like a snowball, but most of the time publicity costs tons of money.

Getting free publicity is one thing, but that is even harder to get.I mean getting your ad on a welvisited site.Like a giant.

Or being famous .That is the one reason I would like to be famous.Because they listen to you then and I am sure I could change the world then.

Thank you Eric
everyone,
Im Sharon and im new to all of this.I have signed petitions but have not set up a petition myself.
I am a member of IFAW and i receive information and alerts to sign petitions, which i do quite regulary.I have just signed a petition for them to help save the whales.
I am here to learn and hopefully to be able to make a difference.
Eric for inviting me.
Sharon.

Thanks for the invite, David.
Thank you for inviting me to this group, Eric!!
Thanks Eric for the Invitation
Boy can I use a group like this I look forward to learning from all of you and sharing what I can.

I currently have three petitions going. They pick up momentum for awhile and then stall for weeks.

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/2/its-time-to-fire-blackwater

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/fema-executives-should-face-criminal-charges-for-distributing-toxic-trailers

and

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/us-justice-dept-owes-a-formal-apology-to-falsely-imprisoned-tortured-canadian-citizen

One technique that I've tried is posting a link to petition when I comment to articles and news sites and videos on YouTube that address the same topics.

Thanks again for the invite.
thankx for the invite,Dave O

Self Introduction - DAN 1

Greetings to everybody in this fine group.

I am a 62 year old Narbarian, (unborn American sub-culture), that is currently working on a helping America, political type project called "Third Parties Coalition".

I have sent out an invitation, (see below), to 49 "third parties" and so far, have received replies from two of them. The Pot Party and the American Reform Party have both expressed interest in this project and Al Gore and JFK Jr for Presidential Candidates in the upcoming elections next year.

Because of the wide spectrum of positions and ideologies of all the Third Parties, it is going to be tricky to get them all to work together and cooperate in denying another victory to the Democrats and Republicans.

At the very least, this is a learning experience for me. But wouldn't it be wonderful if We The People actually could pull this project off successfully...and begin a new era for a Better America.

If anyone is interested, I would post a topic string for the purpose of keeping all here apprised of developments about this stuff.

Thank you Eric for inviting me here. It is an honor to be a member of such a well motivated group. All good things to our host Care 2 too.

See yall soon.  Respectfully,  DAN 1

Welcome everyone! Great projects in the pipeline; this is democracy at work.. Great energy and excellent ideas all around.

Hello,

I know this is off topic, but I just had a question I thought someone might be able to answer.  Last night I went to "my page" on care2 and everytime I do I get the "internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to send error report" and it closes my page!  I have already gone to care2 help and notified them but no response yet!  I read under possible problems that "your care2 account may have been disabled"? I am able to view OTHER peoples profiles just not mine!  Help!  Does anyone know why or what I can do?

Thanks Eric!

Thanks to Eric for the invite! I hope that i will be able to contribute to the group.I have a BIG CAT Conservation group and previously 10 others all Big Cat related ,and I have been known to write the odd petition!
Iain..

Thanks!

For the invite Eric. Mike M.

Help

Hi I am Michael.

I'm fairly new to care2.  I do sign most every petition that comes my way.  I'm more concerned about helping humans first, for then I think humans will take care of all of nature.  At least the TV or MEDIA-RIGHT STORM I call it often, has brought awareness to Nature's problems, though not enough.

My activism started in 1994 when I heard of the Workwer Owenrship of the Mondragon Cooperative, of the Basque in Northern Spain.  As  Union Electrician with all my benefits being sent back to my home local, when working out of town, I saw right away how Unions could make it work here in America.  So I proceeded to sedn it out to Union Halls, politicians, Churches Clubs/bars, and any other address I had.

I have not got very far yet, but it has been hard work getting here.  There has been a few people in my travels, since losing my Abbey Road Condo in what I call Lemon-minister Massatack, who have heard of me.  My only real success has been getting someone's attention who put 2 Comercials on CMT addressed to #9 in writing, with witnesses to both.

Any help in putting togather a petition would be greatly appreciated

Hi Everyone,

My name is Stuart and I just joined this group. Thank you, Eric, for inviting me.

While I have limited experience with petitions, I have signed a number of them. I admit, however, I am reluctant to ask my friends to sign them too.

Regarding my telling my story about changing the world to make it a better place, I actually have had a life-changing experience which led me to try to create more peace and human harmony in our world. (I think I may have written about it on my Care 2 profile.)

Currently, I produce and host a local television program (which can also be seen online) meant to create more peace and human harmony in our world. It is called "World Harmony: Can It Happen?"

Also, I am serving as president of the Tucson Peace Center; a member of Democracy For America - Tucson, including its Steering Committee; Peace Group Leader of the church to which I belong and a member of its Economic Justice Group; and a Democratic Party Precinct Committeeperson.

Regarding my needs, I would like to expand my TV program to reach many more people either by television or over the radio.( My experience includes twelve years hosting and occasionally co-hosting television programs and over two years hosting and occasionally co-hosting radio shows.)

As to what do I have to offer to others, I have the opportunity to offer to help others "get their word out" to other people.

Hello All, I found out about this group by visiting the profile page of my new friend Bergstromjoy (Songbird) and with great thanks it is.  This looks like a very informative group regarding things I could use some help with.  I am putting my focus on ending puppy mills.  I have begun researching every aspect from the actual mill, to the web dog registries that cropped up to lend an air of authenticity to the puppy so that the last leg of the journey and the partner in crime to the puppy mill (actually the last leg of the journey oftimes is euthansia ya know killing the dog at a local shelter where it is dropped off because of personality quirks or health conditions due to poor breeding) and to end the whale slaughter.  I know I can accomplish these things, there is no doubt in my mind and I will fight every day in every way I can.  I do need some help.  I need addresses and emails of every single country and company that has ANYTHING to do with whale slaughter.  Please send me any information that you might have or run across. I am starting a personal massive letter, phone call, email campaign.  I will make it my personal goal to have the people that deal with whaling know me by name.  The same with puppy mills, I plan on picketing outside of live sale pet stores, writing, calling contacting legislators I plan an all out attack.  So help me if you have any information--I need contacts and lots of them I plan on cranking out minimum of 4-5 letters every day and that's minimum.  Thank you all.

Should have completed a thought there:  the last leg of the initial journey of the puppy is the live sale pet store and they know that they are selling puppy mill dogs.--Thanks-got carried away by passion.

Hi Everyone
I'm C.C. I have been a Care2 Charter member for 3 years now, but have recently created a new profile. I have been active on and off here (depending on my health) and am becoming more involved in my community now, so I am especially interested in going thru the "how-to" section and learn more about contacting representatives, petitions, etc...
I am interested in doing all I can for all good causes, but am specifically becoming involved in a Resource Investigation Committee for at-risk youth and my city's Disability committee.
Look forward to getting to know you all and learning and making a difference
Peace, C.C.
