Hello Everyone and Welcome!!!

You know me....feel free to start your own posts/topics and to add to others. This is "our place" not just my own!!! Everyone have fun!!!

How are you planning on spending Litha/Midsummer?

I'm still trying to figure it out. I live 1 hour from any "civilization" (one way)....out in the country. This year I'd like to find a Pagan Group or a Coven to celibrate with but I don't know of any in my area. Going to check the WitchesVoice to find out.....if nothing else I'll do a solitary ritual (well MeMe and I)......I still haven't made up my mind completely yet. LOL

Thanks everyone!!!!

Merry Meet,

I just joined the group and wanted to introduce myself. I'm Jenn and I practice solitary. So I will be doing a solitary ritual for midsummer.

Graceful Greetings, I am Suzanne & I've been a hedge/kitchen/solitaire for a few years now. I used to live in Europe where the idea of Paganism is not so threatening & much more accepted than it is here. My beliefs are not something I share with anyone I know other than my immediate family. Usually my rituals/practises are done privately. That said I am feeling a need to connect & share & learn from others. I love your group & the idea of incorporating ritual w/just plain ol' every day tasks & chores. That's what I've been doing & I'd love to know how others do their 'thing' too. One thing I am doing this week is a water & salt cleansing of my house. Since we moved back to the States last year, (after almost 20 years abroad), we've had nothing but bad luck & chaos all the way around - money-wise, house-wise, et. al. I've been incorporating fengshui & will do the salt cleanse. I'd like to know if anyone here has done a salt cleanse & what their ritual entails - would you be willing to share? Something in this house is unsettled & therefore we are unsettled. I've got to calm this environment down & rid myself & my wee family of the feeling as if we are just temporarily 'posted' in this house instead of actually living in it & enjoying it. Many thanks for opening your site to me & I look forward to hearing from you all! Go in peace - Suzanne

Hello everyone. I can't really classify myself as of yet. I'm not really sure what I am. LOL. I have always had "gifts" that have been passed down through my family that I have had to hide from some people as they don't understand. My family and friends ofcourse know about them and a few of them share similar things.

I have always had an open mind and for the past few years have grown herbs that I use in cooking and healing. I prefer natural healing remedies. I have recently been exploring religions to see if I find a niche that suites my beliefs. My "other half" is studying to become a druid priest and hopes to start a ministry here in NC. I'm very proud of him and study with him but am very open to all religions and especially feel an affinity to the more nature based religions.

I am eager to be part of a group that openly discusses topics and stays active. I hope to get to know all of you and share and learn together.

blessed be,

Krista

I'm jain ~ a hedgewitch in the city. I look forward to sharing and learning with you. For Suzanne: have you tried burning sage to cleanse your house? Sage smoke in each corner of each room chases out old negativity and leaves the house feeling fresh and new.

Dear Jane, Thanks for the 'sage advice' - ha-ha. Actually that is something I hadn't thought of. It's a super idea. Suzanne

Hello All,

May your circle give you vision, may you smell the earth around you, may your eyes see the colors and movement others don't, may you hear the sounds that make you smile, may you taste what the earth gives, may you fell the breezes others dream about.

Introducing myself

Hi, Everybody --

I'm new to the group and wanted to introduce myself.  I'm 35 and have been a Pagan for sixteen years.  I grew up in southeastern Michigan and now live in St. Paul, Minnesota.

I'm solitary but sometimes go to open public events for the major festivals.  I don't really have plans for Summer Solstice at this point.

Looking forward to getting to know some folks here!

Just wanted to introduce myself.  I'm 44, single, living in Southern California with my feisty feline (<-- that's him over there).  Years ago, I was in a wonderful coven that eventually disbanded.  Now I work solitary, although I'd like to meet others in my area for an occasional sabbat.

Is Being a Witch Genetic?

Merry Meet! I posted this message to another group entitled "To Be a Witch" and thought it might stir up some interest here. This is also my intro.

Wow! A Witch Gene? Thursday, 8:07 PM
Could it be possible?  Merry Meet everyone!

I am new to Care2 and to this wonderful group. I have really enjoyed all the postings and the debate about where our witch-ness comes from. So, I will use this post as both an introduction and a reply to the debate.

I have been a solitary witch for about 20 years and thought this would be a good way to start widening my horizons and service to others. Little did I know I would find such rich discussions!

I use several modalities in my craft, but mostly stick to the Dianic Tradition my older sister taught me years ago. So having that in my family certainly put me on the track much sooner, but I do believe I would have found the path on my own. NOT necessarily because I may or may not have a "witch gene" but because it was evolved through my own openness, curiosity, and willingness to question.

I am a pagan as well as a scientist (not by vocation -- but in the "What the Bleep" manner--by trade I am an editor and writer on sabbatical this summer). I use several modalities in my craft, including CandleMagick, astrology, Geometries of Creation Tarot-like cards (that utilizes 64 Dimensions) and I am a Human Design Analyst (which is a way to read our body's DNA via the I-Ching, astrology, the Kaballa and our chakras) whereby I can pinpoint which of the 64 gates (which corresponds to the 64 codons of our DNA) are open or closed and what channels and circuits are present...some of which could make one more "likely" to be talented in "the craft" or make someone be more "prone" to delve into the mystical world, or make one have more of a questionning nature.

Being in touch with my spiritual nature and experiencing crossing the veil between the worlds, and knowing that I have had many lives before THIS one, I am a firm believer (weighing the mystical with the scientific) that we are given this unit, this body, on this planet, for this lifetime and it has a genetic nature. Therefore, that would explain why, in previous lifetimes, one could have different genders and talents and vocations, because a different unit/body had been provided to that soul/spirit for that lifetime.

My belief system requires that I be of service to others. As we move closer and closer to the end of the Mayan Calendar (2012), I am finding it more and more essential that we heal our bodies/these units. While Human Design is very rewarding, as it helps people regenerate areas of their body that have degenerated through non-use, as we all struggle in being the non-self, Human Design helps us be our SELF and move through life with less resistence and decondition the conditioning we face from birth, but it does not help the physical nature heal itself as quickly as I believe our bodies can heal.

So, while I continue to study human design and all its intricacies, I am about to follow a more direct path to healing the body, mind, and spirit. This fall I begin acupuncture school and I am so excited because it just feels "right." It has that ring to it, my sacral says yes! and my spirit soars! It also will enable me to fulfill my pagan role of service to others and combine my thirst for the mystical and the scientific!

San Diego is beautiful today and rain is coming tomorrow. We LOVE rain here, as it does not bless us enough. So, I am happy to be part of this group and look forward to meeting many new friends.

If you want to know more about Human Design, please visit my website and don't forget to check out the Links page. There is a photo also, as I have not yet been able to upload one to this new group.

Hello my name is Brenda and MoonDolphin is my magickal name.

I have only begun to study Wicca, Witchcraft, etc...in the past two months, so I really am quite new at this.

I had become interested in Wicca when I read two hightly recommended books. I learned plenty from these two books to start my new journey, but am still wanting to learn so much more.

My two books that taught me so much is

Written by Scott Cunningham. It is actually three of his books in one volume. Wicca, Living Wicca and Incense, Oils and Brews. This is an incredibly informative book for a beginner or solitary Wiccan. I have come to purchase several other of Scott Cunningham's books since this one as he is becomming one of my favorite authors on the subject.

The other book which taught me so much is

Written by Oberon Zell Ravenheart. It is packed full of not just Wizardly knowledge and Magickal knowledge, but is also packed full of history and how history has played and still plays a role in magick. This is a great book and one I will cherish for years to come. Oberon has become almost like a professor to me. I have written to him several times and have gotten responses as well. He is a wise man and very caring!!!

I am anxiously awaiting more work by Oberon!

So, I guess that what I can tell you for now. As I said, I am still very much in the learning phase, and am hoping that everyone here can help me to gain a much broader range of knowledge, for I am a willing student!!

Blessed Be........MoonDolphin

Merry Meet, my name is Pat. I'm a solitary eclectic & have been practicing for the past 25 years. I am into shamanism, kitchen wichery, green whichery, herbal lore & animal totems. My magical name is Etukla. This is Chyenne for little gray mouse. I am a massage therapist, master herbologist, touch healer & an ordained Wiccan Clergy. What that that means is that most of the ceramonies I perform are Wiccan, but I'm ordained, so that it makes it legal for the red tape in public institutions. I'm 48 years old, the mother of 7, grandmother of 2, & soon to be stepmother of 1. I must be living my life right in some way, because after being single & alone for the past 17 years, I have a new man in my life. I live in Missouri at the moment, but after I get married (this month) that will change. I will then be living in Las Vegas. I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone & say "Hi", so having done that,

Merry Part & Merry Meet again!

Aloha! Just wanted to introduce myself....I have been an eclectic-mostly-celtic pagan for about ten years. I grew up in New England, but followed the AmeriCorps path to California after college.

My practice varies on the chaos in my life, and how much the evangelical parents in my classroom try to convert me! Glad to be here!

Hello every one I have been away for awhile and had no chance to drop in and say hi, but I am here now. Yea My personal pantheon at first seems to be a bit eclectic, but when you connect the dots I am sure that you will see the connection. Hecate is my Matron Goddess, but I also honor Persephone, Demeter, Hestia and Kernunnos. I am glad to see that this group is taking off! Faith

I am a solitary.  Mostly an animal healer.  Took a three year hiatus when I moved to Texas from Maine.  I have to be very careful here, the bible belt is a bit too tight!  So I've been flying low for a bit, but I am back!

I have been wiccan since I can remember, grew up in a hebrew/wiccan home.

I look forward to new ideas!
