Granted this group is about Quarter Horses, but when looking for a horse for yourself keep an open mind ! This is a photo of my help on Pretty Boy , a retired race horse ! He's the great grandson of Secretariat. We ride him all over the pasture with NO TACK what-so-ever ! Once we got the hot feed out of him and let him settle down there isn't anything we can't do with him. Don't let people influance you on breeds. I've sold a lot of Arabs to beginners in the past and they all still own them and won't part with them , people will tell you they are airheads and can't be trusted ! That trait can be found in ANY breed ! If interested in a horse put a deposit on it and do a few different trail rides with it at different times to find out how it responds. And don't tell the dealer when you're coming. If they don't like the idea of you doing this find another dealer !!!Connie and Pb

Nice, Stephen.  I agree with you, and have to say that most of my best horses have not been purebred anything.  But here are two of my purebred favorites:
