Tv show bad December 08, 2009 9:58 AM

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/stop-man-vs-wild-jerk-from-killing-animals-for-no-reason
Hello good humans I have come to ask of you to sign my petition for animal welfare... There is a TV show called Man vs. Wild, you may have heard of it but never seen it like me at first. I watched a few minutes of it and the host chopped of the head of a snake for no reason. It disturbed me so I thought I would look into this show... It turns out he has killed many animals also for no reason, and if he does it for food he barely eats any of the sacrificed animal. Which is ridiculous in the first place because this is the 21st century and an American man does not need to kill an animal to survive these days. It is supposed to be a survival show, but I have also learned that the show is fake as the host stays in five star hotels and got one of his cronies to dress up in a bear suit and attack him. What a loser. I'm not sure if they are making new episodes, after they were exposed I think they may have stopped. But the show is still on TV and it has to be taken off the air, because promoting animal abuse is not going to fly on my TV.

anonymous Protect our animal friends from justice October 13, 2009 12:08 AM

Protect our animal friends from justice 11:56 PM We don't need a Supreme Court Judge that promotes illegal activities to represent us. Animal cruelty is illegal, but this judge says we can't control our lowest instincts...but we have to control our low instinct of killing, violating and robbing people, as it is illegal...so is animal cruelty in the US. Please, read this petition, sign and tell everyone! http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/supreme-justice-scalia-needs-to-step-down-and-not-promote-illegal-acts-of-animal-cruelty

USA: Help Make Pet Care More Affordable--Support the HAPPY Act!

Dog and Cat

H.R. 3501—Humanity and Pets Partnered Through the Years (“HAPPY” Act
Sponsor:
Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI)
ASPCA Position: Support
Action Needed: Write to your U.S. representative today to urge him or her to support and cosponsor the HAPPY Act, H.R. 3501.

U.S. Representative Thaddeus McCotter has introduced the Humanity and Pets Partnered Through the Years (“HAPPY” Act, legislation to allow individuals to claim tax deductions for qualified pet care expenses. The bill would allow any taxpayer who legally owns one or more domesticated animals to take an annual income tax deduction of up to $3,500 for pet care expenses, including veterinary care costs.

Pet care can be expensive—and in these trying economic times, families all over the country have been forced to give up their pets because of financial hardship. The HAPPY Act is important because it will help Americans provide their pets with the medical attention and quality of life they deserve, while also ensuring that more pets get to remain in their loving homes and don’t wind up on the streets or in the already overburdened shelter system.

What You Can Do
Use the letter below to email your U.S. representative now and urge him or her to support and cosponsor the HAPPY Act, H.R. 3501! Please keep in mind that personal comments strengthen the impact of your letter.

Take action and stop bullfighting

Enough is enough: help Catalonia end bullfighting

Dear WSPA Supporter

A huge public-led campaign in Catalonia, one of the largest regions of Spain, has called for an end to the bloody cruelty of bullfighting.

The Prou (‘enough’ campaign has found huge local support. It builds on a groundswell of anti-cruelty opinion that has been expressed in independent opinion polls and in 69 Catalonian towns’ decision to declaring themselves anti-bullfighting.

Will you join the call for an end to cruelty? The sheer number of campaign supporters has already forced the regional parliament to schedule a vote on banning the region’s most infamous blood sport. By taking a simple online action today you can tell Catalonian MPs that you support their citizens’ wishes and encourage them to be bold in outlawing this archaic and inhumane activity.

Let them know the world is watching

We need as many people as possible from around the world to encourage action from the Catalonian parliament. So please share this petition with as many people as possible.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Big Cat Rescue sponsored the showing of "The Tiger Next Door" to attendees of the Taking Action for Animals Conference. The documentary's creator, Camilla Calamandrei had so many people interested in knowing more about the film that after the Q&A session ended in the theater, it spilled out into the lobby where she continued to share her experiences with the crowd who gathered around her. The movie is not available for sale over the Internet yet, but to ask about how you can get a pre-release copy email Honey@BigCatRescue.org  See the trailer here:  http://thetigernextdoor.com/

The Cove is another excellent documentary that exposes the trade in dolphins here:

http://www.bigcatrescue.org/000news/0articlesbybcr/2009TheCove.htm

Lots of great things are happening around the globe to help save the tiger and the other top cats of the forests.  Please use the form at the link below to write a letter to our CITES representatives, and let them know that you support strong tiger conservation, but you insist that they protect the bobcat from being trapped and shipped to Russia to be made into coats.

Stop the Slaughters July 20, 2009 1:53 PM

After speaking to several Congressional offices by phone, I've got two petitions (for the House and Senate) to stop the canned hunt against wolves and other wildlife in Alaska and the Northern Rockies. This can really work and is the best chance - promotion is badly needed, as Change.org sends petitions to their half a million membership based on popularity - also because I think people have given up, while palin is actually accelerating the nightmare as a parting shot, right after cubs were born. They're both at Change.org: http://www.change.org/actions and both have "slaughters" in the title, as I quickly found that works better. The difference in numbers could really do it, and they've stayed in the top 10, but I stink at promoting, really need help. For all the wildlife in Safari Club International's "get a 'trophy' before they're gone", sick sights, this is such an important place to draw the line. Let's make it NO to turning the world's most powerful nation into a canned hunt, which is already done, if we don't stop it.
