please support our livestock production reduction petition for the animals! March 13, 2009 5:12 PM
Hi all!
The University of California, San Diego student organization: VEG
(Vegetarian Environmentalist Group) is happy to present an online
petition which aims to reduce the livestock industry via means of
removal of governmental subsidies for livestock farmers as well as
implementation of tax for livestock products for their detrimental
external social burden on the environment. Here is our petition link:
Yesterday, a Japanese man had died in Bucharest (Romania) because of bite injuries. Nobody knows how exactly this incident happened (it is belived that it was a breed dog and it was actually in a yard), but media blames the stray dogs and is encouraging a histerical massive KILLING campaign !!!
The authorities are now thinking about KILLING THEM ALL after a 72 hours truce!
A Romanian TV channel is asking for our opinion, please, express yours at:
Update on Idaho Wanting Wolves Hunted! January 12, 2006 1:28 AM
Update on Idaho Wanting Wolves Hunted!
As already documented here (http://www.heartofthewolf.org/IdahoTurnover.htm) Gale Norton has turned over management of Wolves over to Idaho. Idaho as already documented here also is already interested in hunting Wolves and is trying to get approval to hunt Wolves from her.
It is revealed that the Idaho Fish and Game now wants to get approval to hunt 51 Wolves. They claim that hunting them will 'help' elk herds.
This is nothing more than Idaho's resolve to destroy Wolves and the persistant hatred of Wolves. Wolves will not annihilate their primary food source. This is simply about those who hunt elk (which are hunted for fun by people) don't want Wolves to have their food. Greed by those who support the sadistic hunting of elk who don't want to see 'their' precious supply depleted by Wolves who actually need their fraction of the elk population for food.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
1) Contact Gale Norton (gale_norton@ios.doi.gov) and tell her not allow hunting of Wolves in Idaho. This is because with this new proposal, the threat to the Wolves in Idaho is more threatening than before.
2) Contact Idaho Fish and Game (http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/inc/contact.cfm) and tell them to stop this madness. Wolves do not need to be hunted. It is illogical and not proven that Wolves solely decimate their food supplies. This plan is the culmination of people who hunt Elk for fun and don't want Wolves to be able to feed on what they need to. They regard any loss of 'their' elk as a problem. Elk shouldn't be hunted by people and Wolves shouldn't be 'reduced.'
3) Contact Idaho Senators today and please get them to listen to reason. Get them to support the idea that these Wolves shouldn't be killed for the reasons above.
Wolf Murdered in Montana! January 10, 2006 11:37 PM
Wolf Murdered in Montana!
Recently a Wolf was murdered in Montana by a ranch manager. This is the seventh murder since rules were loosened last year allowing Wolves to be murdered in livestock depredation incidents.
1)Jon Trapp: Statewolf Managament Specialist (john_trapp@mail.fws.gov) who thinks that murdering Wolves is good for them as a whole and that punishing Wolves in livestock incidents is ok. Although he claims to use non lethal methods, most are outdated and useless, like rubber bullets. He is one of the players who doesn't use actual non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching.
He needs to be contacted about how murdering Wolves isn't good for Wolves since it just creates more hatred of them. Pure co-existence is not in promoting fear and hatred of a species, but peaceful co-existence. Use this link: http://www.heartofthewolf.org/source.html and the information in it to show that Predator Friendly Ranching and actual non lethal methods do work.
2)Carolyn Sime (casime@state.mt.us): She is a successor to the Mass Murderer Ed Bangs and is the head the Wolf Program for FWP. She callously believes that murdering Wolves is a right for people to do and gave that 'right' when those who wanted them dead asked for it.
She must be contacted and shown that Wolves being murdered isn't a 'right', but an atrocity that must be stopped. Non lethal methods and PF Ranching can be used for peaceful co-existence between Humans and Wolves.
3)Steve Pilcher (steve@mtbeef.org), executive vice-president Montana Stockgrowers Association thinks that murdering Wolves is small doses is ok since Wolves aren't being annihilated outright. Of course he is going to be fine with murdering Wolves now since rules against murdering them is gutted.
He needs to be contacted too, since murder of any kind is wrong. And that humans can live with Wolves peacefully. Non lethal methods and PF Ranching do work.
Use the link and info above.
4)Dominic Domenici (Dominic_Domenici@fws.gov): Agent for the USFWS who thinks that murdering Wolves is ok, and because it's legal it's acceptable. He too needs to see the reality that murder is wrong, and that non lethal methods and PF Ranching work and should be promoted.
First Finland is trying to get the Eurpoean Commission to allow the murdering of Wolves. They think that Wolves should be hunted and submitted in December a proposal to this effect.
This proposal claims to give hunters the right to murder Wolves in the clause of Wolves being a threat to Humans, the Environment, and Wolves. Which all are bogus reasons.
Write letters to: Mr Soren NIELSEN soren.nielsen@eea.eu.int
This isn't the first time that they have attempted something like this.
Last September they were taken to court by the European Commission because they handed out too many hunting permits. Wolves in the European Union are classified as Endangered, so they have protection.
Helsinki is also fighting the Wolves protection status. Please contact the same people they are, the EC Court of Justice. And have them please uphold the Endangered Status on Wolves in the European Union.
Miss Estella CIGNA Information Service estella.cigna@curia.eu.int
And in Finland, fear and hate of Wolves is goading the Presidential Elections to make hunting Wolves a focus. Finnish citizens consider where they live with Wolves as being 'haunted.' Many consider them a threat solely to livestock, children, and hunting dogs.
"People fear what they don't understand." -- Storm from X-Men 90s show "They fight us because they fear us. Because they don't yet understand.. They must see that we are not a threat to mankind, but are a part of it." -- Beast from X-Men 90s show
Contacting the Finnish Ministry and the Capital about Wolves and what they truly are are a must.
In particular, use these links.
1) Use this Wolf FAQ to show that Wolves are not monsters, and that they are living beings that deserve to live as much as humans do.
3) Show proof that Wolves attacking Livestock is rare and can be prevented without lethal means. And also mention that hunting is a barbaric practice. No animal deserves to be hunted and eradicated.
Write letters under the category of suggestions. Writing to the Finnish Government is also a top priority since the elections are taking place around January 15th.
If that wasn't bad enough, she plans to allow hunting of Wolves in both Idaho and Montana. She is going to sign allowing this to be done, sometime next week.
Haggis Hunt Promoted at Scotsman.com! January 03, 2006 11:43 PM
Haggis Hunt Promoted at Scotsman.com!
Here is something really disgusting. No being should have the right to be hunted for human amusement and gratification. It is a hunting ritual even promoted on webcam. Note: Not all Scotsmen and women support this.
Urgent Wolf Dog Pups Need Rescue from Kill State January 02, 2006 9:55 PM
I live in Southern Indiana, I was hoping you may know of some rescues in this area that would be willing to take some wolf mix pups. I was contacted by a shelter in Kentucky this morning that has 11- 6 week old pups that were just dropped off. In KY they have to euthanize the pups. They do not want to put these pups down. If we can get them out of there they will let me pick them up and take them to another rescue. PLEASE HELP SAVE THESE PUPS!!!
Norton and Kempthorne Will Authorize Murdering of Wolves! January 01, 2006 11:56 AM
Norton and Kempthorne Will Authorize Murdering of Wolves!
It has been made official. Gale Norton, the so-called conservationist will be making an agreement to allow Wolves to be murdered in livestock depredation issues.
This is very bad for the Wolves, for it is not protecting the Wolves, nor Humans in the end, but feeding the fire as predicted for racism against Wolves. Already, Ron Gillett, of the Idaho Anti-Wolf Coalition wants all Wolves annihilated. And Carter Niemeyer of course endorses them in spite of even admitting that livestock depredation incidents are low.
We must get the word out to all parties here that Wolves do not have to be murdered in livestock depredation issues. And that education and non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching practives can be used to prevent such conflicts without violence or atrocity (http://www.heartofthewolf.org/source.html)
AMOC Proposing Murdering Wolves in Livestock Issues! January 01, 2006 11:56 AM
AMOC Proposing Murdering Wolves in Livestock Issues!
AMOC is Adaptive Management Oversight Committee. It is a group that is specializing in the 'reintroduction' of Mexican Wolves in Blue Range (in Arizona and New Mexico). It is a huge project which of course consists of the consortium of the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Wildlife Services, APHIS, and more.
Already, they are proposing outdated and ineffective means of non lethal methods: cracker shells and rubber bullets. And once again, this 'recovery' effort is going to allow the murder of Wolves in livestock issues in the words of the euphemism called control. Although these 'recommendations' won't even be ratified until 2007, we don't need to wait until Wolves die to take action.

Black Mountain's Full Moon Farm connected with Gentle Jungle! December 27, 2005 8:45 PM
Black Mountain's Full Moon Farm connected with Gentle Jungle!
Thanks to a tip, it has been revealed that Maverick from Black Mountain's Full Moon Farm was sent to a place called Gentle Jungle to be used in the film. As it turns out, Gentle Jungle has a notorious history of using and abusing animals for Television and Movies. Below is the correspondence and the individual who kindly revealed another wheel in the conspiracy in Narnia.
From: **********@*****.com Date: Tue, 27 Dec 2005 00:06:03 EST Subject: Chronicles of Narnia To: mike@heartofthewolf.org Dear Mr. Wagner:
While looking for facts on the way Wolves are portrayed in Narnia, I happened to find your website. I too wrote to Miss Brown, and recieved roughly the same letter as you did in return. But, I did some searching and found all the other wolves were supplied by a place known as "Gentle Jungle" (this is also where Maverick the wolf dog has been sent) I also wrote an email to them saying how wolves should not be potrayed as evil, becuase they are gentle ,intelligent creatures. I have just recieved a response, and was appalled at what they wrote! Their reply is exactly as follows:
"You obviously have never watched three or four wolves eat something while it was still alive. Do you think Anthony Hopkins is a mean person. It is a movie!"
I looked into this "Gentle Jungle" a bit and found a few articles about them being involved with animal abuse. Including the following from here:
"Clyde the orangutan died a few months after filming Any Which Way You Can in 1980.
During a federal hearing alleging animal mistreatment against the training company, Gentle Jungle, an assistant claimed a trainer beat Clyde with a cane and an ax handle.
Gentle Jungle was fined for other abuses, but not for harming Clyde -- at the time abusing primates was not illegal."
I noticed a few other articles talking about their animal abuse, and saw animals in small concrete cages on their website. I would like to inform as many people as possible about "Gentle Jungle" and their cruelty to animals... And I believe maybe Miss Brown would like to know the facts on where her wolf dog was sent.
I just wanted to inform you of this, since your website was a good source of information. I figured you, and other people who want to help wolves would like to know about "gentle jungle"
It is an article which the author gradually becomes one who abhorrs murdering of animals, to one who finally accepts it. It is an article where, Sherry Simpson doesn't mind the destruction of Wolves. She also is present in vivid detail of the skinning and defiling of a Wolf that was murdered by a trapper.
It's rather morbid considering that this article is from a site called Creative Nonfiction. Is Creative Nonfiction the murder of a Wolf, skinned and used as property? It is it Creative when the author of this article willingly watches all this happen while doing nothing about it?
No!
An aticle from a site that is called Creative Nonfiction must be one that promotes something philanthropic in nature. We cannot let a site that is supposed to be creative think that articles like this constitute creativeness.
Lengthy replies with really ethical thinking behind them is needed here. We need to show the illogicalness and unethicalness of what is going on here. Creative articles on this site shouldn't have opinions that support murder.
ALSO CHECK THIS OUT: I discovered a really disturbing product that claims to support Wolves but in the end supports the hideous regime of the USFWS/USDA/DNR.
Field And Stream Wolf Hunt Poll--Vote No! December 22, 2005 11:58 PM
Field And Stream Wolf Hunt Poll--Vote No!
The recent disaster in Canada where Wolves were blamed for the death of a man and as a result two were killed in spite of them not doing anything wrong (see http://www.heartofthewolf.org/CanadaWolves.htm for a complete breakdown of the situation) has come to a climax.
Field and Stream, the magazine that loves hunting, of course wants to use this to start hunting them.
Please drop by and vote no for hunt on Wolves. If anything this whole situation is the pinnacle of human atrocity.
In the first fatal attack by a healthy, wild wolf ever documented in North America, an ecology student in Northern Saskatchewan was killed and eaten in early November. << and Eaten >>?? So we want to know, do you think it's time to start hunting wolves? Yes No
They also have their own version of events which of course blames the Wolves for the incident and want them hunted. They also have their own insidious archive of propaganda making them look bad.
It is even more disturbing since the contact information for Park County Predatory Animal Control Board and Craig Acres, district supervisor for the federal government’s Wildlife Services agency, cannot be found, at least on the web. One thus cannot contact both these parties and tell them that what is going on here is wrong. That non lethal methods can prevent these conflicts and that the murder of Wolves is not the answer. Which of course flags conspiracy.
All parties here including the murderous Rod Krischke, state director of Wildlife Services have a role in this.
Non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching (http://www.heartofthewolf.org/source.html) are being denied and not used to peacefully prevent livestock depredations by Wolves. All these parties know what is going on here, that they refuse to prevent conflicts and incite more by using murder to solves this issue where it has time and time again.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
1) First contact Commissioners Marie Fontaine (mfontaine@parkcounty.us) and Tim French (tfrench@parkcounty.us). They need to know that continued Wolf Murders are unacceptable. Non Lethal Methods and Predator Friendly Ranching practices work and that their implementation and education to the ranching populace would stop this situation peacefully. Since contact information with Craig Acres of APHIS/USDA/WS cannot be reaches along with the Park County Predatory Animal Control Board, they are the ones who have to hear this.
2) Rod Krischke had a hand in this considering he and the murderous Mike Jimenez of the USFWS in Wyoming work together and slaughter Wolves. He isn't concerned with the success of Wolves. If he did he wouldn't have participated in the 37 Wolf Murders in Wyoming that occured this year whcih 13 are in Park County!
He needs to be contacted at (rodney.f.krischke@aphis.usda.gov) and told that the handling of this situation should have never reached this point. Non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching has been proven time and time again. The lack of implementing such measures has created this conflict. He needs to stop participating in this business of murder and start promoting these peaceful methods to successfully live with Wolves.
Mike Jimenez Murders 3 Wolves and Plans to Murder Entire Pack! December 13, 2005 11:01 AM
Mike Jimenez Murders 3 Wolves and Plans to Murder Entire Pack!
Mike Jimenez, who continually ignores the use of non lethal methods and refuses to promote them and Predator Friendly Ranching, has struck again. He has murdered 3 Wolves already of the Daniel Pack and plans to murder the rest.
In the meantime, it should be known that the notorious Wolf Murderer Carter Niemeyer is ending his reign of terror in January of next year. Althought the USFWS thanks him (obviously since they as a whole have been involved in the thousands of Wolves murdered in the states of MT, WY, and ID), there will be a permanent article that will always remember these victims who fell to him.
Of course his email address, to for those interested is: carter_niemeyer@fws.gov
talks about a museum that opened up in July of this year.
It is called the Sheets Wildlife Museum. And want to know how many animals are in this museum that he has murdered for the fun of it to put on display?
97 animals and 87 types of fish. In this article the founder Summer Sheets tries to say he loves animals but he just loves to murder them. And Teresa Daniels, the museum director thinks it's great that kids can see murdered animals from hunting and thinks it's ok.
One of the most disturbing parts is that this newspaper was promoting this horrible museum and it's owner in this article as well.
And tell why you think that this is horrible and that animals should not be murdered for the entertainment of people and placed in musuems. And that this didn't not have to be promoted in this newspaper.
In particular, it has been revealed that the Wolf's name is Maverick and that he came from a Black Mountain's Full Moon Farm.
The founder Nancy Brown decided to use the Wolf in the film, despite knowing that the Wolf would be portrayed as evil. In this new article that has surfaced, she has pulled a tactic known as greenwashing. Greenwashing is when someone who commits and atrocity against the wild and tries to cover it up by claiming to do something ethical.
In this article 'Screen wolf', she actually believes that although the Wolves were portrayed as evil in the film, that the big myth of the big bad wolf will be dispelled because he was a higly trained Wolf.
Millions will see this film and see the Wolves as monsters. And since when did Wolves become dogs? I know most Wolf Sanctuaries out there, like Wolf Mountain Sanctuary thrive on educating the public and treating the Ambassador Wolves with respect, rather than making them like pets and saying it's a good Wolf so its okay to use it in a film as evil.
This is greenwashing at its finest, and it is a shame that real Wolves have to be involved in this scheme. It is also hypocrisy. She didn't have to use the Wolf known as Maverick in the film. She could have educated the populace about Wolves without having him in the film as an evil monster.

Colorado Sanctuary Faces Closing - Possible Euthanasia
The following is a heart wrenching story of an animal sanctuary similar to Big Cat Rescue in Colorado facing closing and possible euthanasia of some or all of its animals. Please read through the story.http://cbs4denver.com/pets/local_story_339170918.html
Please visit their web site - www.wildlife-sanctuary.org - and make a donation. As one of the volunteers has said, any little bit will help put a dent in their crisis.

The center should in addition not euthanize these animals, but find safe places for them to go as well. Animals shouldn't be protected from atrocity, just to be murdered. Please donate now to slow down the process of the closure of this Sanctuary.

New Wolf and Goat story!
Arashi no Yoruni (On the Night of a Storm)
A very cool story about a Wolf (Gabu) and a Goat (Mei).
It has captivated readers from children to adults. Hopefully it will come out in English soon! And the author Kimura Yuichi is really fond of Wolves and has written alot about them.
Here is an interview with Kimura for more information.
Switzerland, a country with only two or three wolves, is trying to
downgrade the animal's conservation status and allow it to be hunted
across Europe.
The Swiss proposal, which was submitted to the Council of Europe, will be voted upon at a meeting next week.
Switzerland should immediately withdraw its proposal and instead work to maintain the wolf's protected status in Europe.
Got this from Planet of Animal Fanatics at Care 2.

Don't See Film Version of Chronicles of Narnia!
Wolves falsely portrayed in film version of Chronicles of Narnia Film!
As you readers are most likely aware of, the film Chronicles of Narnia, made by Disney, will be out in theaters on Christmas Day. I am sure due to the current population of the U.S., many drones will see it and it will make millions of dollars.
However, I for one will be one of those who will not be seeing the film. Why you ask? Check this out. In the film, there is a scene that is not in the books that will be defacing the Wolves.
It is a scene where Wolves are chasing the main protagonists to a chunk of ice where they are trapped. Then one of the children uses the staff he was given to help him and the others escape.
It's rather sad considering the film's creators decided to import them from New Zealand just to be portrayed as 'evil animals.' Not to mention this is going to leave the impression on children for years that Wolves are evil.
Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that you also get to fight Wolves in the home game based on the film?
As one critic describes:
GamePro The between-level load times are also slow, but the greatest concern is the unhelpful and idiotic friendly A.I. that leaves you alone, fending off hordes of attacking wolves while your siblings stand stupidly by.
Don't blame C.S. Lewis for the fact that his movie has been altered severely. He was a lover of animals and humans alike. In fact, he said this once.
"If we cut up beasts simply because they cannot prevent us and because we are backing our own side in the struggle for existence, it is only logical to cut up imbeciles, criminals, enemies, or capitalists for the same reasons." -- C. S. Lewis
So I think he would have a beef with not just the movie but the game as well. And I am sure he is also rolling in his grave right now.
So thanks once again to Disney (who once did this in the animation adaptation of Beauty and the Beast), Director Andrew Adamson (The Creator of Shrek) and his staff for making a film that perpetuates Wolves as being monsters and evil.
You won't be getting my 9 dollars. And I hope those who love animals and respect life won't see this movie or recommend it to children for the same reasons above. So pass this on, if you could.

Canada 'Conservation ' Officers Promote Fear and Violence Against Wolves! Part 2.
Recent horrific events have continued in Wollaston Lake area,
Saskatchewan, Canada. At first it was Wolves who were framed for the
death of a man. And Tim Trottier had made it legal for Humans to murder
Wolves in 'self defense'.
Fear leads to hate and hate leads to suffering. Now the cycle of murder of innocents has truly begun. Two Wolves were murdered as a result of this whole incident. Whether Trottier was involved, is unknown. http://www.cbc.ca/sask/story/wolves-tested051116.html?ref=rss
What Can You Do? 1) First contact Tim Trottier. His invovlement in this incident is highly likely. Please contact him at ttrottier@serm.gov.sk.ca
And ask him to stop the Wolves from being murdered. The last two
should be peacefully relocated from the area of this whole disaster. 2) Contact the Minister of Saskatchewan, David Forbes Minister of Saskatchewan dforbes@mla.legassembly.sk.ca, DForbes@serm.gov.sk.ca And tell him about the situation and have him help save the last two Wolves of Wollaston Lake area
3) Contact Dave Phillips of the Resource and Environmental Stewardship Division at DPhillips@serm.gov.sk.ca and tell him the same.

Canadian Government Wants Wolves Murdered for Science Experiment! November 18, 2005 12:45 PM
Canadian Government Wants Wolves Murdered for Science Experiment!
"Humans are capable of the most wonderful and the most terrifying things with the power of science. As a scientist, it makes me shiver just thinking about it." -- Ciel, from Megaman Zero 4
Canada's government is doing a full scale attack on the Wolves. It first started with the Canadian Government allowing humans to murder Wolves in 'self defense' after a false news reports in print were saying Wolves recently killed a man.
Now scientists from the Ministry of Natural Resources want to have Wolves murdered for 'research.' They want to find out population of information of Wolves. Numbers, gender and species. This can be done without violence or oppressive means. The Canadian Government is just using this as an excuse to mass murder Wolves. The MNR is using hunters and trappers, who are more than eager to murder Wolves, to do this.
1) First contact the 'scientist' Lisa Harvey, who is organizing this effort. Her address is:
Attn: Lisa Harvey Ministry of Natural Resources 479 Government Road P. O. Box 730 Dryden, Ontario P8N 2Z4 Tel: 807-223-3341 Fax: 807-223-2824
You need to tell her that violent or oppressive means do not have to be used in determining Wolf population numbers. By hiring hunters and trappers to murder Wolves for research, she herself is a murderer and helping the Canadian Government's agenda to murder Wolves. This is unacceptable and should not be done.
2) Contact other Canadian Officials
Here is other contact information for various officials that you need to contact about this issue.

Thank you for taking action on this. The Wolves need your help now more than ever since Humans are once again waging war against Wolves in Canada!
I know this group is based on Animals Helping Humans, and maybe I should not post this here, but I have to get the word out FAST!
As I mentioned before I am adopting a new horse and I just recieved a Cry for Help from his foster Mom. Here is the email I recieved and what I sent out to my network.!
I just recieved the following email from Stormy's Foster Mom - Please Read, and pass on through your groups. This horse only has until tomorrow or she goes to slaughter!
There is something you could do for me. We came across a mare that is going to the NH meat auction tomorrow if she doesn't have a home by then. We've offered to pay her "ransome" of $200 if AC4H can find sponsor's for her transportation to us and Christy at AC4H's is trying. I don't know if you pray or not, but if you do, please pray that this mare can find a way to us. You can see her at http://www.ac4h.com/ - she's the Palomino Paint mare. The look in her eyes says she's given up. I think she needs us as much as we need her right now - we miss our Frosty so much. When going to the website above it took me some doing to find the Mares listing - so I decided to post it here as well:
Palomino Paint mare 2 blue eyes - aprox 14 hands smooth mouth top teeth are short eats grain and hay she is a been there done that mount rides alone responds to leg cues walk, trot and is quiet.
Here is the link to here photo: http://www.ac4h.com/DSC05209.jpg I would take her in, but my barn is full, and my new adopted horse Stormy comes home Sunday!
Anyone interested in helping please contact me, and I can pass the information on to the BITS coordinator - which is who sent me the original email above.
Thanks! Please Make Adoption your First Option Mary E
Instead he decided to side with USDA Wildlife Services (under the direction of Rod Krischke) who wants Wolves murdered. They both have been involved before in several Wolf murders. In fact, it was a murder of an Alpha Female and her pups!
1) First contact Mike Jimenez (mike_jimenez@fws.gov), and tell him that this outrageous form of violence and oppression is not acceptable. He needs to stop his murderous rampages and start promoting non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching.
2) Also contact Rod Krischke (rodney.f.krischke@aphis.usda.gov) the director of USDA Wildlife Services. And tell him that Wildlife Services should not be about murdering Wolves in livestock depredation issues, but promoting non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching methods that allow co-existing with them without violent or oppressive means.
3) Contact Jim Magagna (wsgajim@uswest.net) of Wyoming Stock Growers Association. This man who represents ranchers, needs to stop his pathological hatred of Wolves, murdering them and start promoting peaceful means to prevent livestock depredations.

An incident has broken out in Canada. A man was killed in a forest at Points North Landing. The true cause of death is unknown. However, the Canada media as well as the Canada Environmental Department have automatically blamed it on Wolves. Although it is know that the Wolves predated on the corpse of the individual, these sources are acting on fear, claiming that the Wolves killed the man.
Because of this fear of Wolves, they have issued an order to destroy any Wolves that, 'attack' a human. Thus as fear leads to hate, hate leads to suffering. Even the 'scientist', Tim Trottier wildlife biologist with the Canadian Environmental Department knows that there has not been a Wolf attack on a human in 100 years! And animal attacks on humans are extremely rare. And they don't attack humans for the selfish reasons that humans do each other. Usually it is in self-defense, or someone violating their territory, or mistaking them for food.

Please act now! The lives of Wolves depend on you!
Why did this all occur? Because they failed to use non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching methods. And these two failed once again to educate ranchers about these methods. Of course Sime 'claims' to feel remorse but we know the true goal of the USFWS.
As Ed Bangs said it himself in this article: He isn't concerned with the number of wolves that have been ordered killed.
So once again Carolyn Sime and Ed Bangs ignore the lives of Wolves and murder them without a second thought.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
First you can send off emails to Ed Bangs and Carolyn Sime
Both need to be first held accountable for these murders since they shouldn't have happened. Second, they need to be told to start using Non Lethal Methods and Predator Friendly Ranching Practices instead of murdering Wolves. The information that proves it is here: http://www.heartofthewolf.org/source.html
And they need to also be told to start respecting wildlife, not treating Wolves like garbage to just murder and do with as they please. Only through promoting non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching will peace between Humans and Wolves happen.
And write letters to the Billings Gazette.
By mail to: P.O. Box 36300 Billings, MT 59107-6300
Write letters to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.
What you should have the focus of your letters be:
1) Althought compensation programs are helpful, what actually needs to be done is further education and implementation of Non Lethal Methods and Predator Friendly Ranching Practices. Wolves should not be murdered, period.
2) Livestock owners should not murder Wolves and should not be allowed to have permits to murder Wolves in livestock issues since it will most likely lead to slaughter. Peaceful means and living with Wolves without violent or oppressive means is the only way Humans can co-exist with them truly.
Written comments may be submitted to: ODFW Information and Education Division 3406 Cherry Avenue NE Salem, OR 97303-4924
F: 503-947-6009 E: Odfw.Comments@state.or.us
Questions regarding the rulemaking process or the draft plan may be directed to ODFW by calling Craig Ely at 541-963-2138 or Anne Pressentin Young at 503-657-2000, Ext. 285.
Mike Jimenez has recently shown his true colors once again. In an interview, he made a statement denying the constructive nature of Non Lethal methods.
A permit to murder two Wolves on a rancher's property since he won't take the time or effort to educate these same ranchers about Non Lethal Methods and Predator Friendly Ranching Practices.
1) First write to Mike Jimenez, the USFWS 'Wolf Recovery' Coordinator at mike_jimenez@fws.gov and tell him that murder is unacceptable in livestock issues. In fact the whole reason this problem is continuing is because he won't employ non lethal methods or Predator Friendly Ranching, so tell him this.
2) Write a letter to the editor for the Sublette Examiner and tell that non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching do work and are effective and the lack of responsibility for them being used not only causes the deaths of Wolves, but continues to create the rift that stifles peace between Humans and Wolves without violence or oppressive means.
USFWS and DNR Want to Delist Wolves! Stop it now! October 28, 2005 2:38 PM
USFWS and DNR Want to Delist Wolves! Stop it now!
It started with an article that has the mass murderer Adrian Wydeven wanting to bypass the recent ruling of Federal Judge Ellen Segal Huvelle of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia who prevented the murder of Wolves in livestock depredations.
The USFWS is the one’s that Wydeven sent the idea to get a permit to murder more Wolves and delist them in three states: Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota.
And the USFWS apparently supports the idea in the Northern Rockies.
Wolves don’t have to be murdered, period. Non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching proves that they don’t have to die. http://www.heartofthewolf.org/source.html
And delisting would be a death sentence for many Wolves.
What can you do?
First phone Judge Ellen Segal Huvelle and let her know of Adrian’s and the USFWS’ intent to defy her authority on this issue.
Her contact info is: Chambers: (202) 354-3230
Courtroom Deputy: Gwen Franklin (202) 354-3145
Court Reporter: Lisa Griffith (202) 898-0168
Second, call the U.S. District Court Judge Robert Jones of Oregon who has defended Wolves time and time again by not allowing them to be delisted to alert them of the danger to Wolves. (503)-326-8340
It isn’t ranchers (who don’t support non lethal methods or Predator Friendly Ranching) or the USFWS or the DNR in this article, it is hunters and outfitters that are also a driving force of hate and violence.
In particular, it is the Anti Wolf Coalition led by Ron Gillett and Jack Oyler (Email: Nowolves@centralidahowolfcoalition.com Homepage: http://www.usa4id.com/ciwc/) and their sponsors, the Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife (led by Nate Helm) Email: USA4ID@USA4ID.com Homepage:http://www.usa4id.com/ciwc/) who are a threat to the Wolves as well.
The USFWS and DNRs (those who murder within these organizations) oppress Wolves because they can and they are soulless murderers who believe Wolves must be enslaved by Humanity. They don’t care about ethics; they just want to get ‘the job done.’
The Anti Wolf Coalition and the Sportsmen believe that Wolves are a threat to hunting interests and hate their presence in Idaho. Fueled by pure hatred, and fear of something that is different than them, they want to eradicate Wolves completely in their state. The AWC has been around for many years, since 1999. They know that the USFWS already murders Wolves, and by showing their murderous hatred and crowds, they want the USFWS to murder more Wolves.
One of the worst parts is as this article points out is that they have their own ‘scientists’ to prove their racist and murderous ideals. The worst part is that this movement is growing. Of course them being totally insane doesn’t help either.
What can one do? Contacting these groups about their hatred and racism and getting them to stop it is one manner. Telling them that Wolves aren’t monsters, they rarely attack people and on top of that, if they did eradicate their own prey which was elk, there would be no food for them. This whole situation is because of hunters being selfish and not wanting to share with fellow beings who live with them. Hating them because Wolves are different and because they fear what they don’t understand.
Or as one quote that I remember that is quite accurate:
“It is an historical fact, sharing has never been humanity's defining attribute.” -- Professor X from X2: X-Men United
Another is warning your Senators and Congress people about it. Although most states don’t have the problem of pure hating gun toting hunters, it could arise in the future.
We have to let these racist men know that we are not going to tolerate racism, prejudice and unjust violence. Just as the Neo Nazi’s were stopped from marching in Germany recently (http://sf.indymedia.org/news/2005/10/1720450.php), we need to stand up to these people. Just because they are a big organization doesn’t make them right or justified. We have to take a stand now before they gain more ground and Wolves lives will be in danger.
What can you do? First contact the Judge of the recent activities. Thank her for her support last month on the ruling and ask her help in stopping this recent attempt at more violence by the Wydeven and the WFB.
In fact, torture and the murder of Wolves on the Turkish TV networks is the epitome of what they think of them. As a result the European Union, if they admit Turkey needs to begin an active effort to preserve and protect the Wolves in Turkey.
Education, in addition to proliferation of non lethal Methods and Predator Friendly Ranching practices in Livestock interactions with Wolves can create hopefully a lasting peace. This is our opportunity to get peace in Turkey between Wolves and humans. A peace without violence or oppression.
Write letters now via email to the European Union. Here is the url for contacts.
As a result, he is going to Gale Norton and wanting her to delist them.
We know this claim is ridiculous. Since Wolves rarely attack cattle, this is one reason. Another, ecosystems with Wolves have finally started to recover. Even studies in Yellowstone have proved this.
This is nothing more than fear and lies being generated as an excuse to delist Wolves so more can be murdered.
This is to oppose his decision to have Wolves delisted. Explain that Wolves are not decimating wildlife, and that Wolves haven't been decimating livestock and that there are peaceful means available to live with Wolves, rather than murdering them.
Then please contact Gale Norton and tell her the same. She doesn't need to delist Wolves in Wyoming, and she already has allowed more Wolves to get slaughtered in Idaho and Montana. Wolves do not need to be murdered for co-existence.
Please contact Gale Norton at :E-mail: gale_norton@ios.doi.gov

USFWS continues to murder Wolves! Stop it. October 17, 2005 3:12 PM
USFWS continues to murder Wolves! Stop it. 10/13/2005
Graham McDougal of Montana Wildlife Services murders Wolf! This new murderer has murdered one Wolf of the Battlefield Pack and seeks to murder 2 more.
Him and Ed Bangs (who contributed to the report about this), continually ignore non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching and also don't educate others about it as a solution to livestock interactions with Wolves. This is what they ignore. http://www.heartofthewolf.org/source.htm
Email them both today in opposition to their murderous ways and tell them to stop murdering Wolves and start using non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching practices to prevent this. They know the Ranchers they murder for, so these issues can be prevented without violence. Their emails are the following.
graham_mcdougal@fws.gov and ed_bangs@fws.gov
Carter Niemeyer wants to murder more Wolves!
Niemeyer wants to murder a Wolf from the Moyer Basin Pack. One has been murdered already. And it is being 'donated' for research to a David Carrier of the University of Utah (carrier@biology.utah.edu) who will be harvesting the poor dead Wolf's organs for another project in Illinois.
As a result, he wants to murder another Wolf. And he continues to ignore non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching as solutions to peaceful existence in the issues of livestock interactions with Wolves. And as always Ed Bangs is the knowing bystander who refuses to do anything about it and tries to unsuccessfully hide the identities in this report of the murderers and collaborators involved.
Contact them both at:
carter_niemeyer@fws.gov and ed_bangs@fws.gov
And contact Carrier about his unethicalness for participating in dealing with murderers for the sake of 'science.'
Instead of showing that non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching can be used to prevent livestock depredations without violence, Carter Niemeyer is once again ignoring these methods and engaging in murder.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
1) First contact Niemeyer and voice your outrage against his continual denial of non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching. If he educated the rancher Tom Beale and helped getting him to use non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching Practices, this would have never happened. Murder is not a solution for co-existence.
2) In the letter to Niemeyer, use the links from here: http://www.heartofthewolf.org/source.html This is because all here is proof and that which he continues to deny.
3)Carter Niemeyer's email is: carter_niemeyer@fws.gov
4) Spread the word, for the more people that oppose this, the more it shows that many more folks refuse to have creatures that deserve to live oppressed.
One of the best-kept secrets in Missouri September 30, 2005 11:17 AM
One of the best-kept secrets in Missouri Becky Beckwith, bbeckwith@theintelligencer.com 09/30/2005
Although Darwin's theory of Natural Selection states that the fittest of all species survive the test of time, today even the strongest of them all cannot always escape screeching tires, gunshots, traps and land clearing.
The Wild Canid Center is working to reverse the trend to extinction for multiple species of canids through captive breeding, research and education. And this captivating mission is going on right under our nose. Open since 1971, the Wild Canid Center is a silent destination. With little funding, this facility seems to fly under the radar, although it is the premier breeding canid facility in the country. A trip to the Wild Canid Center is an eye-opening, beautiful experience and the perfect place to take the family or any animal lover.
Commonly known as "the wolf sanctuary," the Wild Canid Center doesn't have the bells and whistles of the zoo, and you can't cuddle with the little pups. But this facility touches visitors in a real way, connecting humans with nature and their canine earthmates. On Oct. 2, visitors have the opportunity to watch the wolves in action from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the facility's annual open house, "Rendezvous with the Wolves." The open house is one of three major yearly fund-raisers for the non-profit organization and the only time throughout the year that visitors may tour the facility without prior reservations.
Located near Eureka, Mo., the Wild Canid Center is on 65 acres of land within Washington University's Tyson Research Center. Here, the organization works to carry out their mission of repopulating multiple dying species of wolves. Mexican Gray Wolves, Red Wolves, Maned Wolves and African Wild Dogs can be seen from viewing platforms or from the walkways between fenced enclosures. The Center consists of 12 to 15 enclosures that range from one to three acres, each equipped with the landscape and topography native to the wolf.
The Mexican Gray Wolf and the Red Wolf seem to be the center's current primary focus of attention. These species hinge on the reintroduction of multi-generational packs into the wild, and the Wild Canid Center leads the country in getting this done. When Assistant Director Kim Scott started working at the Wild Canid Center in 1994, there were only 62 Mexican Gray Wolves in existence. Now there are 250 to 300 due to the efforts of the center's work along with other similar organizations within the Fish and Wildlife Service. During a traditional tour, visitors will view the wolves' behavior while a docent tells them about the species, their origin and interesting behaviors. Visitors can compare these wolves to their descendants, man's best domesticated friend.
However, unlike the common household pet, these dogs do not receive loving human interaction. Wolves naturally fear humans, and it is necessary for them to have this fear when reintroduced into the wild, according to Scott. Some of the wolves at the center came from zoos, and therefore must be broken of their human tolerant behavior. E mployees and volunteers at the Canid Center work hard to have as little contact with the wolves as possible to promote their future success in the wild. She said it can be most difficult to avoid a "cutesy" relationship with the wolves, but it is necessary for their well-being. One of the hardest times, Scott said is when the staff must bottle feed a pup, yet not get emotionally close. "It's hard when you're bottle feeding them to keep from saying, 'Oh, you're so cute' and snuggle up to them," Scott said. "You have to show restraint."
But all of this work pays off. It is fair to say that the Wild Canid Center has single-handedly saved the Mexican Gray Wolf population from extinction, and that is just one step in their efforts to put an end to canid extinction. "I would love someday to close this place because we wouldn't need it anymore. They're such majestic, beautiful creatures," Scott said. Before that day comes, the Wild Canid Center would like to purchase their own land and build a more suitable facility to breed and observe the canids. The new enclosures they build will include rounded corners to avoid wolf injuries, visual barriers between the different species to avoid "fence fighting" (verbal scuffles between wolf neighbors) and the facility expects to be open to the public daily.
But this will only happen after the Center raises a few million dollars to facilitate the move. This weekend's open house is one of few fund-raisers to help the Wild Canid Center meet its goal. At the open house visitors will not only have the opportunity to view and photograph the wolves, but will also enjoy Native American dancing of the Kahok Dancers and demonstrations by St. Louis Metropolitan Police Canine Division, Gateway Sled Dog Club, Gateway Search Dogs and Missouri Disc Dogs. Children's activities, games and face painting are also on the agenda for the day's festivities. Admission for the open house is $15 per carload.
In addition to the open house, the Wild Canid Center offers two fall evening programs on Fridays and Saturdays from September through December. The Wolf Programs begin with the "Discovery Box" which allows visitors to touch wolf pelts and other unique wolf related items, view a slide show about wolf communication and join the wolves in a howl.
The Camp Fire Program is conducted around a campfire where guests will listen to "good" wolf stories and later take a walk to howl along with the wolves. Program fees are $10 a person, regardless of age. Children under 5 are asked not to attend. Campfire programs for Halloween

URGENT: Help Stop Bill from gutting Endangered Species Act!
Here is the info below. Please act now!
Mike Wagner -- Freelance Wolf Activist-- and Co-Host
of Wolf Tracks
http://www.heartofthewolf.org
http://www.care2.com/c2c/group/TRACKS
A bill to eviscerate the Endangered Species Act was passed
by the House
Resources Committee last week and will be voted on by the full House of
Representatives tomorrow, Thursday, September 29.
With a big enough outpouring of phone calls, we can defeat this bill in the
House and send a strong message to the Senate not to mess with America's
safety net for wildlife and native plants on the brink of extinction.
Please call your congressional Representative this morning and ask him or
her to oppose Representative Richard Pombo's extinction bill, H.R. 3824,
that would render the Endangered Species Act toothless. Calls are much more
effective than emails at this time.
To find your Representative's name and contact info, go to: http://actionnetwork.org/BIODIVERSITY/home.html .
(You can also use this
address to sign on to the Center for Biological Diversity's Biodiversity
Activist email alert system.)
Tell your Representative's office who you are and that you live in their
district. Tell them that you support the Endangered Species Act and want
your member of Congress to support the Act also. Ask them to vote NO on
HR
3824.
This bill would be a terrible blow to endangered species. Among other
consequences, it would remove all requirements to protect endangered species
habitat.
HR 3824 would:
* Completely repeal protections for endangered
species critical
habitat;
* Allow political appointees - such as Secretary of
Interior Gale
Norton - instead of scientists, determine what constitutes the best
available science;
* Assure that recovery efforts are not implemented,
by making recovery
plans voluntary;
* Exempt federal actions from having to go through
independent review
to ensure that they do not jeopardize endangered species;
* Bankrupt the endangered species program by forcing
the Fish and
Wildlife Service to pay developers not to violate the law.
HR 3824 passed out of the House Resources Committee last Thursday on a 26-12
vote. It now heads to the full House for a vote. If it passes the House, it
then heads to the Senate.
Your call now could make a huge difference for endangered species and the
special places they call home.

Carter Niemeyer and Todd Grimm Murdered Two Wolves! September 26, 2005 11:12 AM
Carter Niemeyer and Todd Grimm Murdered Two Wolves!
Carter Niemeyer, a notorious Wolf murderer has struck again. This time he
joined forces with Todd Grimm of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Wildlife
Services Agency in Idaho.
They specifically targetted two Wolves.
As usual, non lethal methods, and Predator Friendly Ranching practices
were ignored and not used.
To even further the horrible news is the fact that Carter Niemeyer
further supports the weakening of Endandered Status on Wolves
so Idaho can hunt them to reduce their numbers.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
First, Carter Niemeyer should not have done this. For years he has
known about non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching practices.
He continues to ignore methods that have been proven to work along
with information that backs it up.
So email him and tell him that he needs to stop murdering Wolves.
And use links that are here.
Second, email Todd Grimm and let him know that murder and oppression of Wolves is not a solution
for co-existence with Humans. Equality, respect, and using non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching
is the only way for co-existence.
Gale Norton has authorized the murder of more Wolves! September 23, 2005 11:47 AM
Gale Norton has authorized more Wolves to be murdered!
Gale Norton, so-called Conservationist,(http://www.whitehouse.gov/government/norton-bio.html) has taken the lie of Wolves being successfully reintroduced and has ran with it. She now is allowing Wolves to be killed in all livestock depredations in Idaho and Montana.
On top of that, culling is also approved, if populations get too big.
She doesn’t care much about Wolves like much of the USFWS and DNRs and is continuing their work of murder and mayhem in the guise of peace and success.
She needs to be contacted immediately at: E-mail: gale_norton@ios.doi.gov Phone: (202) 208-3100 Department of the Interior 1849 C St., NW Washington, DC 20240
And told what she is doing is wrong, and that non-lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching practices are the only way that things are going to change for the better. For a future of peace between humans and Wolves.

Stop Slaughter of Cape Fur Seals! August 22, 2005 3:52 PM
Stop Slaughter of Cape Fur Seals!
Earl Bingley (a comrade of mine) of Canadian Voice for Animals is heading a campaign to stop the slaughter of Cape Fur Seals in South Africa. The slaughter is being done by the South African Government.
How can you help?
1)First you should watch this slide show about the issue:
There are approximately 5,000 elephants in Thailand; the majority of them are in private hands. It is imperative that the torture revealed by PETA not be allowed to continue.
PETA is urging the government of Thailand to immediately enact laws to prohibit the cruel treatment, confinement, and training of elephants and ban the use of elephants for commercial or entertainment purposes. The purpose of the laws is to protect these sensitive, intelligent, and highly endangered animals from future abuse. If passed and enforced by the government of Thailand, Phaajaan, as we know it today, would cease to exist.
With the numbers of elephants in the world dwindling, Thailand should be a role model for other countries in establishing and promoting elephant protection at home and abroad. Tourists would flock to Thailand to observe herds of elephants from a distance roaming freely in sanctuaries instead of performing circus tricks on command. Please watch the video showing how these elephants are broken, and contact the following individuals to demand an end to this cruel, barbaric, and disgraceful practice that should have been stopped long ago:

If you live in the U.K., please contact:

Please let the tourism authority know that you won’t travel to Thailand until laws are enacted to protect elephants:

Representative Paul Gillmor United States House of Representatives 1203 Longworth House Office Building Washington, DC 20515-0001
Dear Representative Gillmor,
As a concerned constituent, I am writing to urge you to support and cosponsor H.R. 2669/S. 1139, The Pet Animal Welfare Statute (PAWS). This important legislation would amend the Animal Welfare Act to strengthen the licensure requirements for commercial dog and cat breeders.
Under the current law, any commercial dog or cat breeder who sells dogs or cats directly to the public is exempt from licensure pursuant to the Animal Welfare Act. The PAWS legislation would amend the Animal Welfare Act to require licensure for any person who 1) sells more than 25 dogs or cats at wholesale or to the public; or 2) breeds more than six litters of dogs or cats, and sells dogs or cats which were bred or raised on the premises at retail. The effect of the amendment would be to bring many currently unregulated commercial breeders under the regulation of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the agency charged with ensuring that commercial breeding facilities meet the minimum standards set forth in the Animal Welfare Act. This measure would close a problematic loophole that has weakened effectiveness of the Animal Welfare Act since its passage in 1966.
Additionally, PAWS would require licensure for any retail pet store that sells animals imported from outside the United States. Animals imported into the United States from foreign countries may pose a health risk to humans as well as other animals. As there is no United States oversight of the conditions under which imported puppies are bred and raised, this regulation is critical to ensure that no health risks are present upon the sale of these puppies to the United States public. PAWS would also require all retail pet stores to keep detailed records on the source of dogs offered for sale.
PAWS would also extend the suspension period permitted when a violation of the Animal Welfare Act occurs. Currently, the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture is only authorized to suspend a licensee's license for 21 days to stop the licensee from doing business until he/she comes into compliance with the law. PAWS would extend that suspension period to 60 days if the secretary determines that the violation will place the health of any animal in serious danger in violation of the Animal Welfare Act. This, in turn, will protect both the health and safety of the animals and the public at large.
Lastly, PAWS will give the Secretary of the USDA the authority to apply directly to the courts for injunctions when the Animal Welfare Act is violated. Currently, the Secretary must first ask the Attorney General to apply to the court for an injunction.
Ultimately, the PAWS legislation will strengthen the Animal Welfare Act and will thereby help achieve the objectives of the original legislation and the Congressional intent. Therefore I respectfully urge you to support and cosponsor the Pet Animal Welfare Statute. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Thanks Lilith, letters sent and I added a list for my state, Ohio
Below is a copy of letterfor hunting of animals with the use of a computer.
Aug 9, 2005
Representative Paul Gillmor United States House of Representatives 1203 Longworth House Office Building Washington, DC 20515-0001
Dear Representative Gillmor,
As a concerned constituent, I am writing to urge you to support and cosponsor H.R. 1558, the Computer-Assisted Remote Hunting Act. This important legislation would prohibit computer-assisted hunting, in which a "hunter" remotely aims and fires a weapon to kill an animal. In remote hunting, a rifle and camera mounted on a platform are controlled by a person via computer from any location in the world. With the click of a mouse, a person can aim and fire a weapon to kill a live animal across the globe. This "point, click, and kill" method of hunting is not even supported by hunters, who feel that it lacks any notion of a fair chase inherent in the sport of hunting.
The hunting of animals with the use of a computer is cruel and unfair. Therefore, I respectfully urge you to support and cosponsor H.R. 1558 to help put an end to this practice. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Mike, thanks 4 the update. I hate 2 admit it but I've done the same thing once or twice (OK maybe more LOL) No problem. So, what did they do with the letters that were e-mailed 2 them?? Do U know?? I never rec'd a response from mine.
As said before, Earthroots supported the limited hunting because it was a ruse in order to get the actual goal of preventing hunting altogether.
So, it was actually me who misinterpreted the first line of the announcement originally.
Earthroots whole plan wasn't clear until I actually spoke with Melissa Tkachyk personally. And confusion rose throughout the whole talks during that originally.
Sorry for the confusion. No one is infalliable.

USFWS in Sublette not using Non Lethal Methods and Predator Friendly Ranching!
Mike Jimenez (a big time Wolf Murderer) is not using non lethal methods, nor Predator Friendly Ranching.
As a result, the same exact situation that occurred last year. This resulted in the murder of the Daniel Pack by the USFWS and Mike Jimenez.
He needs to wake up to the fact that his continued ignoring of non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching is creating more violence and hatred. That which he is responsible for in the murder of Wolves, including the Daniel Pack.
His email is:

Please take action now! Tell him to start using non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching that actually work!
Carter Niemeyer Wants to Murder Two Chesimia Pack Members! July 31, 2005 8:20 PM
Carter Niemeyer Wants to Murder Two Chesimia Pack Members!
Once again the USFWS ignore non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching.
Instead of using peaceful methods to prevent conflict, they allowed things once again to become a big problem.
As a result, the USFWS in Idaho under the command of mass murderer Carter Niemeyer have decided to murder two members of the Chesimia Wolf Pack.
The continued denial of non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching is going to continue to deal more murder and violence.
Please contact Niemeyer to first voice your outrage at this. Second, tell him that these methods prove that murder is not a solution and continuing to ignore them makes him an obvious part of the problem.

Mexican Wolf Dies to Irresponsible USFWS!
Hi everyone,
About 5 days ago, it was reported by the Center of Biological Diversity that
one of the most famous Mexican Gray Wolves, a member of the Fransisco Pack
(http://www.heartofthewolf.org/Fransisco.html and
http://www.heartofthewolf.org/Fransisco2.html) recently died. She died because
of stress and exhaustion in captivity.
This is the firect result of her mate being killed and her being relocated. It
is also due to the fact that non-lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching,
listed here: http://www.heartofthewolf.org/source.html are continually ignored.
The USFWS constantly deals in murder and suffering rather than protecting the
creatures they claim to.
Contact John Morgart, USFWS Mexican Gray Wolf 'Recovery' Coordinator at:
John_Morgart@fws.gov
And voice your outrage at this atrocity and tell him to start using non lethal
methods and Predator Friendly Ranching so no lives have to suffer and so
co-existence can once more be possible.

Earthroots has taken a step that fits hypocrisy. They abhor hunting in the past and the decimation that it did to Wolves. Now in a recent plan created by the Ministry in Canada, they support limited hunting.
In the guise of representing Wolves, they say that limited hunts are the best thing for them.
So, hunting is bad in Alaska, but not in Canada, or anywhere else? The obvious implications are that to preserve peace, more organizations like Earthroots don't mind animals being hunted for sadistic fun and skinned and placed on walls.
How would they like it if they were hunted and skinned? Probably not at all. But since they are human, this doesn't mean anything.
How many more groups will stop doing the right thing and endorse violence and oppression in the guise of peace?
Earthroots wants people to support the limited hunts and other items listed below. To show that you still know what is right for Wolves, please do not support hunting of Wolves in Canada.
Contact Melissa Tkachyk of Earthroots at info@wolvesontario.org and or (416) 599-0152 x12 (office), (416) 819-7424 (cell) to tell her to stop supporting hunting in the guise of conservation.
Second, decry the hunting plans that the Ministry and Earthroots want by contacting these individuals below.

Carter Niemeyer Murders Copper Basin Pack!
Carter Niemeyer, the 'Wolf Recovery' coordinator for Idaho, has murdered another Wolf pack. Not only that but another one was murdered by him previously. He continuously ignores non lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching. Like much of the USFWS he prefers bullets than peaceful co-existence.
As a result, you need to contact him and voice your outrage against this atrocity. And to promote methods that work and promote peace and education, rather than murder.
Carter Niemeyer's email is: carter_niemeyer@fws.gov
Please include links from this url in your letter as proof that murder and oppression of Wolves is not only unethical but shouldn't be used thanks to methods that actually works.
A wolf pack that has been preying on livestock in central Idaho has been killed by government agents. Officials confirmed that six wolves of the Copper Basin pack were killed Wednesday after repeated depredations on cattle. “We are hopeful that this control action will deter any future livestock depredations in this area,” said Carter Niemeyer, wolf recovery coordinator. “If the depredations continue, the rest of the pack will be removed.” Idaho Department of Fish and Game personnel were present observing the control action. The wolves killed two calves this past week on grazing allotments in the Challis National Forest between Mackay and Sun Valley. Last year the pack was responsible for killing four cattle, and livestock producers reported a large number of missing cattle in this area. So far in 2005, the government agency has ordered the lethal control of two wolves preying on livestock in Idaho. There are about 450 wolves living in the state.

Stop ESA rollback!
Congressman Richard Pambo has decided to introduce a bill to make rollbacks of protection on Endangered Species possible.
He wants more rigorous standards which would mean less species protected. He also wants clear absolute distinctions between threatened and endangered species. And reducing certain parts of it to be more 'effective'.
A huge report on what he plans to do (87 pages!), is available here:
This threatens all current Endangered and Threatened Species on the Act. Sudden changes now will make it prey to sinister forces that threaten the survival of Wolves and many other species.
To stop this, please contact your local House of Representatives and tell them to oppose this:

The USDA Wildlife Services in Wyoming recently murdered a Wolf mother and her pups.
This is not only heinous because a Wolf was murdered, but her pups were also slain.
The livestock interaction with the sheep could have been prevented.
The methods listed here would have prevented the sheep from dying. And in addition to that, there was no reason to kill this Wolf and her pups.

Officials shoot wolves for killing sheep Associated Press
LANDER - A female wolf and four pups were shot by federal wildlife officials after the wolves killed 13 pregnant ewes owned by an official with the Wyoming Stock Growers Association.
The wolves were shot last week in the foothills of the Wind River Mountains, according to Mike Jimenez, Wyoming wolf recovery coordinator for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
The ewes were killed over two days earlier this month - seven on one night and six the following night, said sheep owner Jim Magagna, who is the executive vice president of the Wyoming Stock Growers Association.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Wildlife Services initially planned to trap and collar the wolves when the agency received the first report.
But when word of the second night's losses was received, the decision was made to kill whatever wolves were in the area. Jimenez said.
A male wolf and two other pups, also seen in the area in April, were not found, he said.
Magagna did not know the estimated value of the lost livestock.
"These were ewes that were pregnant and just ready to lamb, so it's going to be fairly high," he said.
Magagna said he is "a little bit nervous" knowing the male and two pups were not caught.
"Hopefully, we're through with this one until wolves move into this area again," he said.
The wolves were first seen in the area in April. In May, Gov. Dave Freudenthal asked Fish and Wildlife to remove the wolves before problems started.
The agency said it agreed to trap and collar the wolves but was unable to do so because of bad weather.
Wolves are expected to be removed from federal protection as early as next year, but the federal government has not approved a Wyoming state management plan. The state has filed a lawsuit against the federal government seeking the authority to kill wolves on sight if they stray outside the two national parks and surrounding wilderness areas.
Defenders of Wildlife and USFWS want Wolves hunted! July 03, 2005 9:50 AM
Defenders of Wildlife and USFWS want Wolves hunted!
"Yestrday's good might be tomorrow's evil."-- The Boss from Metal Gear Solid 3
'Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.' -- H.L. Mencken
Wolves in Wyoming are being pushed to be listed as trophy species so they can be hunted for sport. Suzanne Stone of Defenders of Wildlife thinks that it would limit disease there among Wolves. This is of course a lie, since no epidemics or disease have come up at all. Even then, hunting Wolves is unethical. And the USFWS is interested in supporting this.
This is not surprising for both groups since Defenders supported lethal methods in livestock interactions for the plan in Oregon, yet cries foul on hunting in Alaska.
And the USFWS, including Ed Bangs have murdered hundreds of Wolves while being in control of the Wolves.
As a result, you need to email both parties your opposition to hunting of Wolves. I don't think both of these agencies would like it if their kin were hunted and had their heads put up on a wall. Not to mention, it is hypocritical for Defenders to support such heinous activity when it claims to be a conservation organization.
Sticking to its guns to classify wolves as trophy animals and predators, the state of Wyoming will petition the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to delist wolves as a threatened species.
Federal standards call for maintaining at least 10 packs of wolves in each of the states where they have been reintroduced - Wyoming, Idaho and Montana - as a condition for removing them from the endangered species list.
Wyoming's dual classification was rejected last year by federal officials who said a plan that includes unregulated killing of wolves is not acceptable. Wyoming's challenge of that decision is still in court.
Eric Kefzler, Wyoming Game and Fish Department spokesman, said the petition, signed by the governor and drafted by the state attorney general, will be considered by the state wildlife commission on July 13.
The management plan, which is one consideration in the petition to delist, will remain intact, he said. It would guarantee at least 15 wolf packs in northwestern Wyoming, including those in Yellowstone National Park.
Wolves that leave the park would be considered trophy animals south to Pinedale and east to Cody, meaning they would be protected by a hunting season with limited licenses issued.
Any wolf that goes beyond those boundaries, however, would be considered a predator, like a coyote, that could be shot on sight.
Suzanne Stone, of the Defenders of Wildlife, said the number of wolves in Yellowstone National Park fluctuates and that there are a lot of illegal wolf kills, as well as disease, making it impossible to maintain populations without broader controls.
"We'll be very interested in what Wyoming has to offer," said Ed Bangs, U.S. Fish and Wildlife wolf recovery coordinator for the northern Rockies.
He said the key to accepting Wyoming's management plan always has been how large the "trophy" area would be outside Yellowstone Park.
"Once they cross into the 'predator' area, Wyoming law doesn't allow game officials to prohibit people from shooting them, even if the number of packs drops below acceptable levels," Bangs said.
Was re-reading the posts 2 make sure I didn't miss anything and isn't that so sad what Arlene wrote. I wish it wasn't this way but I can't help to think that it is.

This petition is being circulated to make others aware of what and who Oprah supports. This is concerning Dr. Oz...who is one of her "star" authorities on stress. She didn't mention the fact that he tortures animals...mainly dogs and puppies in lab experiments. The story not only outraged me but brought tears to my eyes when I read what they did to a new litter of puppies born to one of the "lab experiments". It is HORRIFIC!!! I ask all of you to take a stand as I did...to stop celebrities like Oprah and J-Lo from blatently supporting animal torture. I will turn off my TV and forgo the Oprah show if she allows this to continue...she unfortunately needs me...or at least she will when her ratings hit the dirt. I no longer listen to J-Lo or watch her movies...and if there were more that would commit to taking this stand, I know their attention will be gotten...especially when they went to the bank. Thank you all in advance...listen with your heart and not your ears...without us celebrities wouldn't be celebrities. And without us, more dogs and puppies are going to be tortured and made to endure unspeakable acts all in the name of science.

In
June 2000 the International Whaling Commission voted to not support the
South Pacific Whale Sanctuary. In 1998 over 1100 whales were killed for
profit, despite the worldwide moratorium on commercial whaling.
Some species are still on the brink of extinction. By 1990 the Blue

time to put a stop to commercial whaling and find a permanent solution

Help Stop the Needless Slaughter of Millions of Sharks
Dear DEN Activist:
Each year 100 million sharks are killed, largely as a result of shark finning. Shark finning is a cruel and remarkably wasteful practice that involves cutting off the dorsal, pectoral and tail fins and dumping the rest of the shark back into the water. Often the mutilated sharks are thrown overboard while still alive, only to die a slow and painful death. This practice has become the method of choice to feed the global demand for shark fin soup, a popular delicacy in Asian cuisine.
Widespread shark finning is decimating the world's shark populations, resulting in declines of 90 percent or more in vast regions of the oceans. Much of this massive shark mortality could be avoided with an international ban on shark finning.
WHAT'S AT STAKE:
Last year, the international community banned shark finning in the Atlantic Ocean, but the practice is still rampant in the Pacific Ocean. Now is the time to ban shark finning in the Pacific as well. This June, governments will vote on a proposal to ban finning in the Pacific at an international fisheries meeting. The U.S. government's position on this issue could help sway the outcome of the meeting and the fate of these remarkable creatures.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
Your support is urgently needed to stop the needless slaughter of millions of sharks for their fins. Please visit www.savesharks.org and send an e-mail urging the U.S. government to actively promote a ban on shark finning in the Pacific Ocean. With your support, we can secure a brighter future for the lords of the sea.

Thanks to all of you who took the survey to rename our online newsletter. And the winner is (drum roll please)…Defenders Wildlife eNews. We'd also like to extend a special thanks to our long-time supporters who voted to keep our current name, DENlines. We liked the name too, but our research showed that it didn't resonate with the majority of our readers. Our goal in renaming and redesigning the current newsletter is to make the name more recognizable and make the content even better--more readable and more relevant to each and every one of you. Our new action center will be called Defenders Wildlife Action Center and our action alerts, Defenders Wildlife Alerts. We will be rolling out the new names and designs this summer, so stay tuned. For those of you who signed up for our prize drawing, the winner is Kim from Yuma, Arizona. Congrats Kim, and thanks to all who participated.
2.Defenders Speaks at Senate Hearing on Endangered Species Act
Jamie Rappaport Clark, Defenders' executive vice president, spoke last week at a hearing in the U.S. Senate about the Endangered Species Act. Clark, a former head of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service--the agency that oversees endangered species--explained to the senators how those critics who claim the act has failed because only a small percentage of species have been removed from the endangered species list have it backward. In fact, the original purpose of the act was to be a final safety net for species driven to the brink of extinction. And, on that count, it has been very successful--saving 99 percent of the more than 1,800 species that have been under the act's protection. Ten world-renowned scientists also sent a letter to the Senate last week with a similar message. Visit www.saveesa.org to learn what you can do to save endangered species and the act that protects them.

The endangered species debate continues to heat up in Washington, D.C. this week. Rep. Richard Pombo (R-CA), Chair of the powerful House Resources Committee, is preparing efforts to undercut important protections for our wolves, bald eagles, sea otters, and other endangered animals. If you haven't taken action already, please go to http://www.saveesa.org and send a message to Congress today.
As promised, I'm sending you this email to update you on our campaign to protect the Endangered Species Act. Last week, we were on the front lines on Capitol Hill warning the Senate subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife and Water that this landmark law should not be weakened. Jamie Rappaport Clark, Defenders' Executive Vice President and the former head of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, never backed down as she went toe to toe with Bush administration officials and industry lobbyists.
Jamie underscored that the Endangered Species Act is a very effective alarm system that has already prevented the extinction of hundreds of species. I'm glad to report that her comments were picked up by hundreds of media outlets. You can read her entire testimony at: http://www.saveesa.org/2005/testimony.pdf
Endangered species are also getting key support from a group of well-known scientists led by Harvard professor E.O. Wilson. These scientists cautioned U.S. Senators that the nation's web of life – from micro-organisms to large mammals – could be in serious jeopardy if Congress undermines the Endangered Species Act. To read the scientists' letter, go to: http://www.saveesa.org/letter.pdf
Lastly, Rep. Richard Pombo (R-CA), Chair of the powerful House Resources Committee, released an unfounded report criticizing the effectiveness of the Endangered Species Act. It is the most troubling sign yet that Pombo intends to push harmful legislation through his Committee.
Sincerely,
Rodger Schlickeisen
P.S. We need all the help we can get in our efforts to protect endangered species. If you haven't already, please go to http://www.saveesa.org and take action today.
If you've already taken action, please help by going to http://www.saveesa.org/tellafriend.html and encouraging your friends and family to take action, too. With your help, we can protect the Endangered Species Act.
As many of you have indicated, your emails to your congressional Representatives sent from www.saveesa.org between Tuesday afternoon and 5:00 pm EST on Wednesday were not transmitted. We here at Defenders apologize. This resulted from a glitch in our email communications systems and has now been fixed. Please take a moment now to let your Representative know that you want to protect our vanishing wildlife, and stop the Cardoza bill that would remove protections for our endangered species. You can now take action at http://www.saveesa.org.
Our apologies again for the glitch. Thank you for your patience and dedication to our cause.
The stakes couldn't be higher.
The cornerstone for the protection of America's plants, wildlife and habitat – the Endangered Species Act – is under direct attack in the Congress.
Rep. Dennis Cardoza (CA-18) has reintroduced harmful legislation – bill number H.R. 1299 – that would give the federal agencies license to ignore the habitat provisions of this landmark law. As you know, without habitat species can't survive.
Cardoza's bill is being actively supported and encouraged by Gale Norton's Interior Department which has testified in support of the bill and has launched its own systematic administrative assault on the Act.
Please email your Representative now and urge a vote against the Cardoza bill at http://www.saveesa.org.
The Endangered Species Act is the safety net for so many species on the brink of extinction. It has been a remarkably effective alarm system providing a way to save and restore wildlife like bald eagles, gray wolves, manatees, sea otters and countless other species.
But there are powerful corporate special interests - drilling, mining and development companies – that see the Endangered Species Act as an obstacle to greater profits. They've made massive political contributions to members of Congress and are now pressing to collect a pay-off.
Contact your Representative today at http://www.saveesa.org. The Cardoza bill could be on the floor of the House of Representatives soon.
To safeguard the Endangered Species Act, Defenders of Wildlife is mounting one of the largest advocacy campaigns in our history. We've already launched extensive media, expanded field organizing, joined in coalition with other groups, and stepped up our direct lobbying on Capitol Hill.
You are a key part of our program. It is critical that your Representative hear from you as a constituent. Please send your email today at http://www.saveesa.org. </
