Here are some words I continuously look up as I do readings and assignments for class:

genau: exact(ly)

etwas: something

vielleicht: perhaps

dazu: in addition (I'm not sure of this one though)

And many, many verbs!  Espeically the un/trennbar (un/seperable) verbs with a prefix.

ankommen: to arrive

besuchen: to visit

bleiben: to remain, stayu

brauchen: to need

gefallen: to be pleasing

passen: to fit, to be suitable

Anyway, there are a few select verbs I have a hard time remembering.  If you have a hard time remembering what different verbs mean, I recommend "Barron's German Verbs," it is only $7.95 at Barnes and Noble and it is wonderful!!
