I got this idea from Barb over on the Night Owls group (thanks Barb!). But over here we will play it German style! Someone will post a simple German word and everyone will go a find a picture of that word. This way we can have visuals to easily remember what word is what! I'll go first as an example.
You don't have to post the plural version as well, I may go through and do that in some cases if you don't know what the plural version is. Lets continue with:
das Blatt, according to my German text book is a leaf? Let me look up snake...hmmm, I can't find snake in any of my books... anyone know?

Just for the sake of proper learning and not me being picky - the nouns are always capatilized no matter where they are in a sentence. So it would be "die Katze" or "der Hund".

Hah, I could have used das Bild before tonights Deutschklasse, I had to skip a whole section because I could not for the life of my figure out what it meant.

Should we try to continue the thread? March 27, 2007 4:05 AM
Last thing was... "Der Apfel ist vom Baum gefallen", right? There is a german saying "Der Apfel fällt nicht weit vom Stamm" meaning that kids are similar to their parents. May i suggest to continue with "Baum"? "Sie sieht den Wald vor lauter Bäumen nicht"...
