Hi Everyone! December 26, 2007 7:56 PM

Stopping in to say hi and tell you how awesome it was the day I found Care2.  I love all animals like crazy, (even the slimy slippery ones, I'm just afraid of them)  and I see that this is a group I would be proud to be a part of.  I have 2 sons, a pug and a pekingese, that I love with all my heart.  I'm on dialysis, which keeps me very sleepy, so this is a great site for me to try and help as much as I can.  If I were healthy, I would be out there strangling animal abusers everywhere.  Hmmm.  Maybe that's why I'm sick, so I don't go to jail!  But then again, anything for the animals.  Thank you all for being here!

hello! January 27, 2007 5:28 PM

i have a Siberian Husky pal, Luc, whom I loved very much. he has helped me through cancer treatments since 2003, even though he was still a baby back then! as an homage and to show my appreciation to him, i started a campaign to help stop the Philippine dog meat trade. please help me, help his fellow "dawgs"... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Save Man's Best Friend from the Dog Meat Trade - Say YES to House Bill 2991 http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/879609320 Because this exceedingly brutal commercial industry provides a steady flow of income not only to the traders but to individuals in government positions acting in their own interests, the dog meat trade remains unscathed from the Animal Welfare Act. However, House Bill 2991 is currently pending in the Committee on Revision of Laws that provides a stiffer penalty to dog meat traders. Introduced by Representative Francis Escudero, the creation of the bill was based on the need to upgrade an Act that, as noble as the objectives of the law are, the traders remain elusive because the penalty is unrealistic. The penalty must be upgraded. OUR GOAL is to obtain OVER 50,000 signatures by JUNE 30, 2007. It is obvious that the only way we can ensure that dogs in the Philippines are protected is to place the Philippines government under the international spotlight.  [ send green star]

Hello everyone,

I am Armand.  I am a retired, disabled USAF E-6.  I have, and continue to take in abandoned cats to the extent my finances and space allow.  I currently only have three in my home as I am preparing to move from New Mexico to Texas.  Once I am settled in Texas I should have a much larger, and safer, lot for me, my wife and whichever of my kids want to bulid on the lot.  i should also have much more room to increase my rescue efforts.  Keep your fingers crossed, please. We all need to do as much as we can to rescue abandoned animals.  i will try to deep my eyes open for any letter, email, rally efforts around the country.  Thanks for having me and I look forward to everyone's input.

hello!!! September 25, 2006 8:30 AM

my name is sharon carlaine, and i am very into changing bsl laws & banning foie gras nationwide!

foie gras is a delicacy that is produced in one of the most horrific ways we have seen. the physical torture done to these birds (at only a few weeks old) ends in coma, death, or severe mental brain damage.

foie gras is produced by enlargening the livers of ducks & geese to roughly 10 times the size of normal. they accomplish this by sticking a metal pipe down their throats and force feeding them way too much for the bird to handle. choking on food or their own vomit is very common.

the sites that give the best info on foie gras are..
http://www.nofoiegras.org
http://www.stopforcfeeding.com

my sites are:
http://www.myspace.com/ban_foie_gras_now
(with a myspace group)
http://www.banfoiegras.blogspot.com

and i have a petition to mayor daley of chicago asking him to let the current chicago foie gras ban stand at:
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/815636066

and a group dedicated to banning foie gras on the care2 network at:

All new members.... July 22, 2006 6:49 AM

Sue, you and I have the same amout of feline family members. 4 of mine, Spooky, Mya, Noel and Sara, were adopted from the local "pound." India, one of my others, was a street kitty who I took in and Mrs. Christopher was given to us by a co-worker.

We also have a dog, Angel, who is mostly border collie. She was "dumped" as a puppy on the highway. We took her in and she guards and loves us all.

Glad to see new people!

New Here May 14, 2006 11:58 AM

Hello, this my intro to myself... I am so glad to see something like this here. I know first hand how important it is to have a safe, supportive place to land when the going gets tough! I only just returned to the AR movement a year ago after taking way too much time off as the result of burt out. I am hoping to learn from that and not let that happen again! It was the seal hunt that did it, and I still get a little freaked out with that issue because of it. I am in ground zero for that issue (Atlantic Canada), so it's a tough battle for us! Where I am is also a medical research and teaching centre, AND we boast the most fur production facilities in Canada, which I suspect makes us the fur capital of the Western world.... Yeah, I'm really glad to see groups like this out there....  [ send green star]

Welcome Linda, Janet, Mustang and Kindle!!!!

Thank you for joining us here!! I think what you do for The Animals is wonderful. Mustang, your project is very interesting and admirable and I want to check that out.

Linda, you don't have to foster to be a huge help to Animals! Those guys in shelter need someone like you to make their days better and protesting is big importance too.

Linda, thank God for people like you who see the problem and take matters into your own hands. That's great about you keeping Jake. May you guys have a long happy life together.

Kindle, venting is allowed and desired here! This is your place to come let it out among others who understand your frustration. Vent away. I've seen you around and I know you do first rate work for the Animals. Good job!

Thank you all for joining us! Please make yourselves at home!

Hi name's Mustang Beam.  I run a group called Deaf Pets of America with another from the D.C. area.  I live everywhere and always on the move but this guy in DC stays.  The group has been around for 12 years and we foster, rehome and rescue DEAF animals that are taken to shelters.

We try to get them to give them to us because they will kill them first.

I just opened one up here on  Care2.com.  I hope to help in any way in supporting the animals in this group.

Happy Trails,

M

Hi! I'm new to the group and am very glad to be here. I have animals of my own and can't foster , so I volunteer at a local no-kill shelter walking dogs and taking their pictures, write letters to judges, etc., and go to whatever rallies/protests I can go to.  Since I live in the DC area, it's quite easy to get there - assuming I can get off work!  My boss doesn't understand the whole animal thing (he doesn't have any).

Anyway, I look forward to being a part of this group!  Bless you all for everything you do for the fur babies.

My name is Linda April 19, 2006 10:22 PM

I am a animal lover also. Recently I had a neighbor who had a dog chained under the back porch of his house and he was not feeding him enough. He would leave him out there all day and his chain would get tangled up to where he could not get to water. I started feeding him and giving him water. And one of the neighbors across the street started helping me untangle the chain.

One day he broke his chain and when I got home he was on my porch, so I started taking care of him. Eventually he got to where he stayed at my house all the time. So I went and asked the neighbor could I have the dog. And to my surprise he said yes. So me and Jake are doing well now. He is in good health and happy.

Hello

Im new to this group.I dont work with animals but i love animals and i think it is wrong for anyone to mistreat them from the places that they use them for finding cures to the little boy down the road that kills one for the fun of it. I want to see in my life time a NO KILL shelter for all the animals and that the laws will see that animals have feelings to. And i like alot of people Thank GOd that their is people out there that helps them and takes them in and trys to put the people behind Bars and it needs to Stop the Killing of these Animals need to stop it is wrong but that is my opinon. Thank You

Cat killer really gets paid for it April 15, 2006 8:08 AM

Hi, I am Kathy from Central Texas and I rescue mostly cats but any other that comes along in need. I have 20 cats and one dog. Most of them have been rescued.

I have joined because my life has turned around and now I am an animal activists and have been speaking out against the crimes taking place locally.

I volunteered for a local shelter (animal control) and was appalled by the attitude and actions at this place. I thought things was bad but had no idea how bad till I looked at their report. They killed most of the cats while they would put out an effort to help the dogs by not killing most of them.

Then when I go to the city council about this they just about totally ignore me. Then I find out later that there is some cat haters on the city council. So I have been fighting a losing battle.

And I know the Deputy (he oversees the shelter) that I filed the complaint to is just as bad by his attitude and telling me things just to piss me off (like how he would shoot dogs right in front of people) and to make it worse he was more like interrogating me than taking a complaint. Then when I went to sign it I found he added his own comments into the copy. So all that was for nothing and nothing but a joke.

If you would like to help my cause by saving the innocent lives (of the cats) at stake in this city then please go to my website that has all the details/information pertaining to my cause and sign the petition. I really appreciate it and every little bit helps.

anonymous Hello February 05, 2006 5:02 PM

'Ello, all. I work for the East Bay SPCA here in scenic (sarcasm intended) Oakland, California. Since I started working there nearly a year ago, I've seen the best and worst of human nature. I'm naught but a humble kennel attendant right now. Just getting my feet wet, so to speak. Still, working in this field has been absolutely transforming for me after years of wandering aimlessly through this mad world....I'm babbling now, aren't I? Sorry. That happens far too often lately. Heh. Anyway, whoever created this group, thank you.

Lets take a stand January 16, 2006 7:27 PM

Lets all take a stand against these monsters in our world. Lets get the awareness out there, lets shut down the inhumane shelters, the gas chambers, the farms, etc. It starts with YOU! God will thank you in ways you would never imagine. Lets all come together as a family and tell this damned government what we think of the way things are going. Remember when Hurricane Katrina hit? They said any owner who left their animals behind would be charged with ANIMAL CRUELTY!!!!!!!!
Lets ask them what is so different about John Doe going to the shelter and handing the clerk $20 to ROB THE LIFE FROM THEIR USED TO BE LOVING PET, the pet you cried on, the pet you hugged to sleep, come on...lets make them guilty as charged....why is it right for them to just "drop off" the animals and NOT get charged with a criminal offense???? Something is not right here!!! And if you agree with me, e-mail me at burb3rrybl1tz@gmail.com and we will take this stand together!!!!!!! *Just remember* The only stupid question is the one not asked.

Invitation to Animal Support Group December 07, 2005 11:27 AM

Hello, I'd be delighted to join if I may.

I come from London, England and have 2 rescued moggies both aged 12, and a recycled cross GSD/Lab called Zoe, she's 10 and we got her last February.

I've been rescuing and protesting about animals ever since I was a kid, and I'm 61 now. Some days I hate everyone- not because of who they are but because of what they do or do not do (to animals). It's great to find a group of like-minded people one can let off steam to, without being made to feel like a lunatic (not that I care about that). But it does get tedious at times.

What a great Idea for a group (and such nice people)!   My name is Laura and I have been involved with animal shelters for the past several years.  I currently serve on the board of directors at my local shelter and sometimes the politics are....overwhelming.  So to release my stress I socialize and adopt out feral cats (I live in the wonderful state of Wisconsin- we're the ones that want to shoot everything).  I currently live with some very generous roommates: a pitbull, a german shepherd, five cats, a rat and a pidgeon.  All of these wonderful kids are kind enough to leave me a spot on the bed if I am very good.

Now that you all know my life history.... I think I am introduced! Glad to be here!

Laura

I'm Laura August 26, 2005 5:12 PM

Probably joined this group a while ago, but then started a couple of my own and got "caught in the web" of trying to get them going. SO my intro is late. It's great to see familiar faces though.

I have Animal petitions to try to make it easier to get through all of the recent ones. If you go here, there is a brand new link about how to sponsor a party for the Humane Society on Sept 18th.

Then one for people w/ Chronic Fatigue and a lighter take on that w/ lots of humor.

My most fun one is Favorite Profile Photos so we can all share our favorites.

Thanks for having this place, hope to participate more!!

Howdy ya'll,
This is a great site.  I have  been an animal love for years but until recently have not done alot for the animal community.  Until one day a terrible tragedity befell my household!  Our baby llama were cruely shot in the head and a pit bull was released into another pen with my adult llamas killing my very first llama Take'.  I am active with the Houston Area Doberman Rescue and foster dogs for them!
Thank you to everyon who does great deads for animals.

Thanks! July 25, 2005 2:06 PM

Thanks for the welcome!  Friendly group.  But then, I've found that people who love animals are the salt of the earth, so it shouldn't surprise me.

I'm in the Air Force, currently stationed in the UK, and do what I can to help out with rescue groups here, but I will be coming back to the states in a few weeks.  Not sure where I'm going yet.  When I find out, hopefully someone can refer me to some new places to help?  I'd hate to give it up.

It's my reason for getting up in the morning.  The AF is paying for me to finish my degree, and I'm registered to take classes with the HSUS in their HUmane Leadership program. My dream is to have my own no-kill sanctuary someday.  (Think Best Friends, only probably A LOT smaller!)

Judith, I would like to know more about your work. I have never heard of volunteer cruelty invesigators and I'd like to know more, like how someone becomes one? That is heinous about the dog being castrated like that. May whoever did it suffer all their days.

Hi, I am involved with animal welfare. I have volunteer cruelty investigators working with our organization. We are all volunteer. I have seen it all. We work to prosecute animal abusers. So far, 3 people have received jail time in the last 5 years. One person was mad at his puppy, so he took a knife and cut the dogs testicles off. The dog survived. Stitch is a dog who was chained and starved. We found him within 6 hours of his death. He now weighs 71 pounds.  [ send green star]

Hello, Hannah June 30, 2005 2:53 PM

If you are looking for friends that are your age, go to the "groups" tab and then search for teens or some specific interest that you and other teens share.

Meantime, if you do not mind being around some older fanatical animal lovers, you are in the right place

I love nature, birds and all critters. I drive everyone nutty with my passion for animals! I find beauty in every living thing!  [ send green star]

HI! June 22, 2005 7:30 PM

I joined sometime ago but never introduced myself so here goes.  As you can tell by my picture, I love dachshunds.  I have four at the moment.   My picture has not been updated since Graycee, a grey dapple, joined my family.  In the pic, Toby, my soulmate, was given to me by a friend's daughter when he was 2 (now 5), Sami in the middle is a rescue from a breeder age 9, and Ko-Ko also a rescue from a breeder, age 11 as of Monday.  Graycee is a rescue from a breeder, age 8, and I will try to include her pic soon.  I am a retired widow and these are my children.  We eat, sleep and do everything together.  I have a friend who does rescue and each time that she has an older dachshund......my phone rings.  I noted with interest that Kathy, I cannot see the post so hope I am correct, works with Dachshund Rescue.  I support them monetarily when I can and if, perhaps, any transport would be in the Northwest part of Arkansas (I live in Fayetteville) I would help.  I have done transport for other shelters when my friend who does rescue needs help.  If I go to Petsmart and if I have a dollar or two in my purse I leave broke as there are always rescues there showing their animals and I am such a sucker.  I do the same for people.  I am known as "a giver".

I love all animals and do whatever I can to give them a chance at life.  I just wish I had a magic wand to change it for all of them.

Introduce myself June 22, 2005 6:00 PM

Hi everyone! I am so glad I found this group. With fighting for the rights of animals comes the intense stress and disgust of watching the atrocities towards these wonderful beings. I can't believe some of the things I have seen. God bless those who expose themselves to that in real life in order to fight against it. Especially those that are actually doing the filming so that we "fighters for life" can see the reality of these horrific sins.  [ send green star]

Greetings Fellow Earthlings June 11, 2005 8:38 PM

My name is Ziggy Connell, I am a 43 year old teacehr's assistant in a middle school in Eastern Massachusetts.  I believe that we are all connected in a very large spider web mosiac that includes animals, plants, rocks, stars, planets, fungi, and fun girls, and I am here to support and honor all the spiritual entities that reside in every little thing.  I confess to still being unable to cease killing mosquitos, deerflies, and other insects that seem deadly determined to bleed blood from me.  I have a little more tolerance for bill collectors, foul smelling politicans("Grow your own dope, plant a Bush" is an awesome bumper sticker), and hypocritical behaviors.  I want to somehow connect myself in a more complete and spiritual way with people, animals, plants, trees, rocks, mountains, fungi, and fun girls.  My spiritual totem is a red tail hawk, when in the presence of one, I feel as though my Creator and Great Spirit is embracing me and whispering in my ear how much She loves me.  I also admit to being smitten and unwilling to resist the charms, spells, and am willing to surrender all of me to any dragonfly that winks at me, for them I am easily seduced and enslaved, such intense eyes and angel-like flight.

Well enough for now, if you would like to learn more about me and my journey here on Earth, please feel free to check our my profile page, and if you want I would be more than happy to share my story with you also.

Looking forward to this group and meeting the great members here.

Big Dawg's In Da House June 09, 2005 10:33 AM

OK, I made it in here. So nice to see so many of my friends here.

Since so many already know me I can skip the intro right? Didn't think so....it was worth a shot sheeeeesh. hehee

Alright, stop snickering up there Gayle, I'm going to attempt this in a semi-serious manner ok. LOL

Hi, I'm Terrie, I'm 44 yrs old/young (whatever) woman who is owned by 6 big dogs (1 pit bull, 1 chow, 1 goldren retriever and 3 boxers) and I have a husband lurking somewhere in this carvernous house we all live in. I see him...sometimes, I think...maybe he's a filament of my imalgamation, I dunno hehee. We are located in a wonderful hellhole called Texas...yeah, it's a whole other country alright. I used to work with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in Maximum/Medium state prisons and in the State Jail Division (criminal kiddygarten), for 10 years--enough said about that. I have also worked in other city/county law enforcement venues-enough said about that too. My last career move was a total 180--I became a Registered Massage Therapist. Now I am a housewife and semi-recluse heading toward total hermit (note to self: must make plan for removal of self and dogs, maybe hubby maybe not, to remotest part of Alaska). About the only contact I have with human beings anymore is on this wonderful invention. IRL I prefer the company of animals to humans, (which I am sure most in this group do as well). So, I am an 'Armchair Animal Activist', I write letters, do emails, sign petitions and occasionally gather information locally behind the scenes. That pretty much sums me up at this particular nanosecond in time.

As far as having a place to come to and vent or whine or p*** and moan about all of the things one sees and hears in animal rights/activism/welfare I am very grateful (thanks Terri!). I think everyone gets overwhelmed from time to time eventually. I know I do--too easily. I can take the graphic headlines but I cannot look at the pictures--I do not have to--I have an extremely graphic imagination that comes with Technicolor and Surroundsound. All it takes to start up the in-head theatre is a graphic or even not-so-graphic description--weird I know. But that's moi.

Anyhoo---thanks for the invite. I'l be lurking....if ya need an ear I'm here.

Hugs~

T

Hello!

For years I have either been involved with rescuing birds, seagulls, cows, horses and dogs ( even baby possums) from the side of the road, fairs, abusive homes and from the the road to the slaughter house. I do not have the money to physically rescue animals as I used to, but my passion for animal's rights is very strong and alive!

I look forward to getting to know everyone here!

Hi, I'm Ket June 04, 2005 12:02 PM

and I was called here from Group Hosts and Co-Hosts. I am very much like Raven - all the graphic details are just too much, and I feel bad forever more for every gory detail. I still remember every picture from the Green Cross package my sister got 25 years ago, when I was 11, and that was my first meeting with cruelty to animals... (Green Cross is a Finnish (if not International) organization working to stop animal abuse, cruelty and testing - or at least was 25 years ago) - and I remember every detail from every story after that. Every new story just gets added, and with every story some of my faith, love and trust to humanity dies. If people can be so cruel to defenseless animals, who are so beautiful, fascinating, delightful and fine, what are they not able to?

I told already in Big Cats a year ago, that I'm more than happy to sign petitions and such, just as long as I don't need to read the details - or anything that makes my imagination go... I KNOW what people can do with different things to different animals. I think it's hard to sign a petition, when I have to look other way all the time to protect myself... so too often I choose to not sign at all...

uh...

Hugs, and thank you for this group

Ket

 June 03, 2005 10:18 PM

Hey Roz, thanks for the invite.

It's so heart-warming to read everyone's stories here, to know we're all in this together, each in our own corner of the world. I, too, have a family of rescued animals and I guess I always have, now that I think about it. All the cats and dogs I had as a kid were either from the pound or saved from being drowned or adopted us one way or another. Even had a couple birds with broken wings that I nursed back to health and then released back to the wild.

Nowadays, I have 5 cats, 4 of whom are related and rescued from the local airport, and one who just showed up as a kitten and made himself right at home. They are Cleo, Edward, Twin, Orion, and Stranger (who really isn't a 'stranger' anymore).

We live way out in the country and find abandoned animals along our road way too often. A couple years ago, my girls brought home 2 kittens in the middle of a huge thunderstorm who could barely walk, they were so weak. These little ones were not well at all and pretty wild, and very, very young. We stuck them in a warm dry box for the night and I fully expected the littlest one to be dead in the morning, but miracle of miracles she pulled through! The shelter didn't want any more cats but they gave us some food. Another shelter said they would take them but changed their minds by the time we got there, althought he vet there gave us some medicine and vitamins for them. In the long run, these 2 little fur-babies made it and are thriving at my son's house to this very day.   Leo and Bast.

Glad to meet you all.

Hello

Thanks for creating this group Terri!!

I love animals, I can't imagine my life without them in it. I have always had lots of animals in my life, dogs, cats, fish, rabbit, ferrets, birds.

Right now though I only have a beautiful black kitty, can be see in my photo album or in my profile. And 2 little parakeets! Cats are by far my favorite, but I love all animals ofcourse!

Infact speaking of my little kitty, she just gave me a bunch of scratches down my leg from falling of the desk because there wasn't enough room for her to get by lol and I just couldn't catch her in time.

Its my biggest dream to start a rescue and foster orginization for animals. And hopefully when I have more money and am better situated I will be able to.

I love animals, and want to save them all, or atleast do whatever I can for them. I am also very sensitive, and so much of what evil bad people do is just so heartbreaking. The only good thing is knowing that there are so many people out there fighting to make a difference.

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for the invitation. I am new to this group.I love animals and will do what ever I can for them. Some how the cats that get left behind when someone moves around here seem to make their way to my back door.I think they are passing the word around.LOL If you lost your home and have to place to live go to this ladies back door and you can work your way into her heart and home.LOL!!I have 3 cats now and 2 of them are from being left be hind. The youngest cat is not a year old.He couldn't be over 4 to 5 weeks old when another cat that wasn't mine yet brought him to my backdoor. He wasn't her kitten either.I think they ran into each other in the woods and she started taking care of the kitten. He was so sweet. He wanted to be held like a baby when he was little. Now is a terror.LOL We named him Spike.Trying to be good but always getting in trouble.LOL

Spooky, what a great story. 22 years is a long time. Not long enough though, is it?  I firmly believe when the time is right, there's no better way to honor your beloved pet than to help out another of his or her kind. Thank you for sharing your story.  [ send green star]

Hi... June 03, 2005 7:30 PM

I'm that lady Spooky Cat. My real name is Christy. I work as a Corrections Caseworker in a men's Correctional Facility. I love my job because sometimes I am able to make a difference in peoples lives. That's one of my greatest joy's.

In 1980 I was given a little black cat who I named Samantha. In May of 2002 I held her while the vet helped her to Rainbow Bridge. Her kidney's had failed and it was time to let go. She was suffering. She was and is my soulmate. 22 years is a long time. I thought I could never put myself through the pain of loss again. I was never so wrong! I came to see that I never lost anything really. I had a wonderful 22 years with my girl. Life without a cat didn't feel "right" you know? My son, who was 12 at the time insisted we get another cat. A coworker needed to find a home for a kitten. Enter into our life Mrs. Christopher . At the same time, another friend, one who keeps large, cat hating dogs, had a kitten show up on her doorstep. Enter India . We went about a year before deciding to visit the local pound. We brought home Spooky . September 11th of 2004 we went by the pound again. We adopted Mya . We were almost not shown our girl for whatever reason . As we were leaving, the volunteer asked, "Would you mind taking a look at this one?" It was at first sight for us and Mya. After we had paid the adoption fee and were leaving, the same volunteer told us, "You are saving that one's life, her time had run out." This blows my mind every time I think of it. Mya is the most intellegent cat we share our home with. We feel lucky to have her in the family. Of our cats, last but not least is Noel . She is another pound kitty. A very sweet baby. We also have a dog named Angel. Mya and Angel are best friends. When I was home recovering from neck surgery in July 2003 a neighbor's daughter found two very young Border Collie mix puppies someone had dumped on the highway. I took in Angel, another friend took the other one. She is called Rose.

That is my experience at rescue. Different than true rescue like the rest of you do. I do what I can. I look upon my little fur family as a living testiment to the love started by one small black kitten way back in the year 1980. goes on.

  ^Samantha^

Well... June 03, 2005 7:03 PM

Although I've been with Care2 for some years, I just started with Care2Connect about a week ago, and I am not familiar with some of the rules and some of the Code of Conduct

So, I figure it's better to check...

Hi Gayle June 03, 2005 6:51 PM

Thanks for the invite . I look forward to collaborating with everyone here to save some animals.

Everyone should check out another group E.I. 17 *ACtion for Animals*.  Great group.

Now that all is said and done, is it kosher to mention the name of group in another group's thread?

If not, I apologize.

Hey! June 03, 2005 6:31 PM

Thanks for this great idea turned into reality.......

I am certain this will bloom into a wonderful haven for animal activists who will fight hard, yet wish to be slightly "sheltered" from a bit of the harsh reality of some visual or verbal atrocities.....
