Hurrah! Internet's back on! 'Someone'(no names but a female teenager was involved) tinkered with the settings on our computer and managed to 'lose' the IP address in the computer however you do that, it took a couple days of being put on hold on the computer helpline and lots of recriminations before it could finally be retrieved, eventually she managed to retrieve it herself, though she hasn't a clue how.
Hope your mum is feeling better Tasha.
Mmm something smells nice, what's cooking?
LOL! I was sitting here going, "antibiotics? what the..." and then I got it. Duh! lol
I don't think we're moving. They asked Steve to move to Miami and open the new office, and he is probably going to go for a month or two to get them started and then come home. They are just not offering enough money to move that far away from our families- plus we couldn't sell our house for anything like what we paid, plus Miami is more expensive to live in, so I'd probably have to find a job (NO).
So once we get a firm date on when this will all be happening, he can start looking for a new job here in Colorado. It's not ideal, but it could be a lot worse!
It wouldn't be one of those monkey brain pies would it?
Hey Maria! Are you still moving? I hope you'll be taking the toilet? A lot of work/sweat went into that.
Well, I'm halfway there from where I was. I'm in TN again. Let's see now... * starts flipping through the calendar pages * Maria, looks like I'll be heading out in your direction sometime around the later part of June. Can you meet me somewhere around Nebraska, Kansas, or South Dakota? The pies should still be good and even have a bit of natural antibiotics as a surprise ingredient by then.
Kettle's just boiled, now where's our Rhonda? Not still on the roof I hope.
Awww I bet your little girl's pic was lovely, I don't know why they have to make everything so competitive.
Hope you're feeling better Tasha, I don't think sitting out on the lodge roof in all weathers helps, come down and I'll make us a nice cup of tea.

Hello. Maybe the font is acting up cos the Monkeys are playing with them? I dunno.
I'm still sick.
I'm pissed off too. The 2nd graders had to "disguise" their turkey pictures so people wouldn't eat them (a stupid idea to begin with!) but then the teachers had the kids vote on who's disguise was "best." Now my daughter is in tears because her picture wasn't chosen. Why do they do these kinds of things?????
Tasha
Hellllllooo! Still here just about, the computer is going stupidly slow at the moment, need to get 'computer man' out again, will have to wait 'til after Christmas now, I don't think the Sims games are helping much.
We've had so much rain here, rain and wind every day for ages, some parts of the country have been badly flooded, but we're okay where we are.(Why has my font changed?) The monkeys have been moping around because they can't go out so I bought them down to the lodge to let off a bit of steam.
Hi Ravi
pleased to meet you![]()
Fran
Hello Everybody,
I just wanted to introduce myself to all the members here.
I am from Mauritius and been to the US for some times.
I just wanted to express you all that I am interested in your culture and wish to learn the ojibwe language too.
So I would really appreciate if anyone of you here could help.
Boozhoo!
Ravi
Sorry to hear the news about Oneida's dad.
My crayon's working properly but not my font.
Awwww hope you feel better soon Tasha, out on the roof is probably not the best place to be, make sure you wrap up.
Rhonda I really don't think you should be dangling off the guttering, it can't be safe.
Hey the roof looks a bit worn here, I'll just jump up and down a bit to test it...
(Disturbing splintering noise)

Thanks Rhonda, that's better.
Oh the view's amazing I can see all the other trashed lodges and the monkeys, pigs and chickens roaming wild.
Mariaaaaaa! Up here!(Throws banana skin at Maria to attract attention)She can't see us. Ooooh she looks really angry now.
All those years in the circus weren't wasted Rhonda.
Oooh I can have a tipi if I get on the roof? Why didn't you say earlier? Here I come...are you really sure this is safe? Given the track record of the other lodges I'm not too convinced...
Hey! It wasn't MY bright idea being on the roof. Don't go complaining to me! Personally, I've never seen such a thing. And if someone did, I'm sure it was a Twinkie. Perhaps they were told they'd get a genuine ndn tipi if they climbed on someone else's roof? There does seem to be no limit they will go to for such things.
But this being a Longhouse Lodge, it makes much more sense. Don't worry. Rhonda will come down when she's ready.
Meanwhile, you'll never find where I'm hiding.
Tasha
Make it quick then here I come....
loser has to empty the bins.
I bet that's Rhonda I can hear scuttling about on the roof...
.....99......100.
Coming ready or not!

Helloooo
still here, I thought I posted a message on saturday morning but it must be lost in cyberspace somewhere.
How are you Tasha? Hope you're feeling better.
Usual stuff here, monkeys have been playing up, other toilet flooded but under control now. Wall paper in hall from previous toilet leakage peeling off nicely. Anyone know how Maria's getting on with her wobbly wrist?
MY EARS! MY EARS!
Aghhhh!
Its not a good sign when the monkeys go quiet they must be up to something REALLY bad.
Glad to hear the package arrived okay Tasha, just thought I'd spread the happiness around. British monkeys like tinkering around with electrical appliances so the TV and computer will probably be next (keep an eye on your pets as they're also very carnivorous.)
Rob has mended the toilet, something was leaking, so we now have damp down the hall wall, paper peeling off, he can't think how it happened but I know...
The monekys aren't listening because they're too busy trashing toilets. Our upstairs toilet has broken too today, keeps flushing continually, I'm sure Bubba is implicated.
Hope you get your wrist sorted out Maria, I'm scared to ask how it happened.
Stupid font thingy still giving me grief.
Okay, first of all- there are currently no toilets in my living room! Yay!!
On the bummer side, there is also no toilet in my upstairs bathroom.
The monkeys broke it, and it got hauled out, but then never replaced. Not sure why this keeps happening to me... bad toilet karma somewhere in my past, clearly.
Currently we're dealing with a possible move- Steve's job is moving out of state, and we're having to decide if we'll go with it, or what we'll live on if we don't. Very upsetting actually. Also I think I broke my wrist AGAIN this afternoon, which was poorly timed- haven't made it to a doctor, but maybe tomorrow! Oy.
Hope everybody else's pet monkeys are behaving better than mine!
And lets not forget the invalueble ' don't **** on your own doorstep,' but try explaining that to the monkeys.
Don't let let Oneida hear you rattling those pots and pans Rhonda she's quite attatched to her monkeys for some reason. I haven't tried the Borneo ones, sound yummy.
Tasha, you asked what I was afraid to...I wonder if Rhonda's plants are still growing in it?
Yes Maria, it's good to have you back.
And Bubba is a fickle one. Watch out. He tries to bribe you with bananas.
MocTel history notes that the very first Lodge did not yet have monkeys, although there was assorted talk of cats, dogs, chicks and the fiercest of all things . . . toilets.

Hurrah! Glad your computer's working again Maria. Still having probs with the font, I'm sure its Bob's monkeys. Watch out for Bubba, he's particularly unpleasent.
Kids gone back to school here. Lilly got her exam results a few days ago, she did really well, she'll start college in a few days.
Just out of interest has there ever been a lodge that hasn't been smashed up/vandalised/infested with monkeys/pigs etc?
Hurray! My tech-support-department/daddy spent several hours yesterday exorcising the laptop and today here I am! (he claims it didn't actually involve a priest, but I don't believe him- I have been fighting with this p.o.s. for months, and it took him 3 hours. He cheated somehow.) After 2 hard-drive wipes and restores, I lost all my favorites and all my files are on a thumb-drive no one can find, BUT I can get onto Care2! I can even sign petitions again!
I see the monkeys have been even worse than usual while I was gone. How have you all managed to survive the constant barrage of banana poo??
Hmm, actually I find it annoying when rez "skins" decide I must not know anything because my family did not reside on rez land for the last six centuries, and even more insultingly, that I have no actual concerns about native issues because I am not a rez skin.
Now, there are Heavy Breathing People who don't have a clue, no doubt about it, but falling asleep while they are talking does nothing to further relations between rez ndns and urban ndns. We have enough trouble with non-Native people that we don't need to make things more complex (or worse) by tomahawking each other. Maybe that should be one of the important issues he should think about while playing solitare.

I just love reading what this guy writes.

Hurrah! You're back Bob!
I just KNEW there were monkeys about, first my font thingy broke(still not working) and now Maria's computer.
Yes please, I'd love one of those native plastic cat nativity sets if you stumble across them in one of your boxes, I've scoured the shops for them here, but no luck.
Please tell me I didn't just sit in monkey poop...
Well of all the vile things...Here I go and leave for a little while and someone tries to get rid of my monkeys ?.... Just for that I am sending a new box of them that just came in from Borneo....( Watch out for little Bubba, he's been throwing certain "things" at people since he got here.)...Finally got our date for the big move....April....By then EVERYTHING will finally fall in place....(Actually we have things cleared up in Dec. but, we don't want to try a move in Winter )...So....Since we are going to be here this Winter, I told Richard we might as well go ahead and re-hook the computer back up.... And you know what that means....You guys have to get on here more and talk to me....You KNOW what happens when you leave me on here by myself....Sorry about any missed B-days and other things....I'll make up for it when I get back on....( Tasha, Little One WILL have a box on the way..)..Oh, before I forget...It's ARIZONA that we will be moving to...Can't wait to get back on here ALL THE TIME...We are in the process of moving into another rental while we are stuck here..( need move room...need to scale down on stuff. anyone need anything...??...I bet I have it somewhere in a box..)..So..before I jump off here...Don't forget I'll be back...and I am bringing MONKEYS with me...( Hear that Fran, Rhonda, Maria, Tasha, ...and the rest of you Monkey bashing people...????)...I have to go hunt down dinner now...I've got coupons and a credit card , poor Richard....
Hello everyone
What have you all been up to? Hope you had a nice birthday Tasha.
Got back from camping on monday, glad thats out of the way for another year. Still wading through all the washing and ironing, insect bites healing nicely.
Are you sure there are no monkeys in here? Maybe they got in when the thread was reversed. My font doodah isn't working properly, keeps turning itself off.
Have a nice birthday week Tasha! Stay away from the bookshops in the meantime, I'll find out.
Won't be here for a few days, we're going camping in Yorkshire, the good news is its meant to be hot in the middle of next week, the bad news is its meant to be pouring the day we arrive and put the tent up, but hey! damp clothes and stress is all part of the camping experience. I'm going to have to try and sneak out the lodge now without any of the monkeys seeing,
have a good week everyone,
Fran.
Hi Tasha and all you lovely friends... Hey you don't have to twiddle your thumbs we are all here... Soooooooo glad the old thread was closed, it took me ages to get there and I thought I was going to miss my bus... i am back in South Africa after a stint up in Tennessee... have spent two consecutive summers together, missed the South African winter. Wow was Tennessee hot and humid, my hair looked like a birdies nest, swopped the coffee jobs for Dr Peppers and masses of ice... have arrived home to a lovely spring day.. the trees are showing off their new leaves and the sun is high up in the sky... My PURR pals are on the bed and were pleased to have me home... Well my dear friends have an amazing week... take care Hugs Chazy

Hi Tasha
hurrah! A nice clean sparkly new lodge.Sorry I'm late, got locked in the old lodge had to climb out the lavy window, its teeming with monkeys over there now.
How did your trip go? We will probably be going camping on monday for a few days the weather is a bit better here now.
It was mentioned that the old Lodge was getting too long and since there was a Monkey Slaughter there. Rhonda I hope you at least performed all necessary ceremonies before the hunt.
So here's the NEW and IMPROVED Monkeyless Lodge.
Since you asked, Ria is in Montana helping her sister who just had a baby. Bob is in the process of moving to Arizona (I think it was Arizona . . . might have been New Mexico?) -- I'll call her tomorrow and see how it goes in the Long Trek.
Hope all is well.
Tasha
