Welcome, and please say Hello here first October 27, 2009 11:12 AM
In the photo is my cat Shadow.
Hello everyone, to our cat lovers group. I am the group owner and Host Screamingbelle, and your coHosts for this group are as follows: Sandrea and Deb.
We are all here to help you with any problems that you might have. If you would like to talk to someone in particular, please just click under their profile Pic, at the top of the home page.
Now, as for your posting to show off your kitties, you may start a new topic, and name it My kitties, or whatever topic you like best, and your kitties will get plenty of attention.HOWEVER. We do have a thread for the kitties you are proud of too.
We also have a wild bird thread too, for bird fanciers, and those who just enjoy nice photos of them. Please keep them in this thread.
If you are hungry, stop at Cat Lovers kitchen. We have the comfort food there to enjoy, and boy is there some good food there. You can also share your favorite recipes there.
If you have a question about your kitties health, start a new topic for it, and you are all welcomed to get to know everyone in the chit chat thread, where we choot the chit.
Last of all, I would like to ask you to please read the announcements here. We do not want any animal cruelty stories or pictures, and no blogs, shares or petitions, as very often it is all about sad stuff. I think we have enough of that in our every day life to deal with. I know I do. My head is NOT in the sand either. My life is dedicated to the care of MANY cats, and other critters as well, PLUS the neighbor's chickens that won't go home. Please let us know you are here, and we would like to meet you. If you think declawing a cat is ok, please leave the group now, otherwise.
Hi Y'all; I'm from deep South Texas. Six miles from Mexico. We've had an awful Summer. It started in May & I hope it is over. Temps in the 100's every day!! My pets didn't mind. They stay in with the A/C. I have 3 dogs & 9 cats. I love them dearly, especially those kitties. They range in age from 6 months to 8 years. Just had the kitten Iggy neutered. When my vet gave him to me 5 months ago he said it was a girl. Boy was he wrong!! This is the second time he was wrong. I was hoping for a boy because it's cheaper to nueter a boy. It cost me $155.00 for Iggy. I almost fainted! Last time I had a cat neutered it cost$85.00. I'm awfully glad to be a member of this group. Can anyone tell me who started the subject on the STPR? I would love to chit chat with her or him. I have plenty to say on that group. Thanks for listening!!
to our cat lovers group. Your profile is hidden so I could not send you the message about why the one post was removed. You accidentally clicked twice when posting, and I just deleted one of the doubles.
I always thought Texas was out West. I get so confused with geography.
I am very pleased to hear that all of your kitties seem to be happy and spoiled in the nice cool house. Our air-conditioner was not working during the worst part of the heat.
You sound about like me - 3 dogs and 8 cats here How wonderful that you keep them all inside with that awful heat!! Feel free to jump on in at any of the threads ... get to know everyone ... have some fun. This group really does have some of the best members at care 2!!!
Hello. I joined the group a little while ago, but I forgot to say hello. So, hi. I only have one cat. She's soft, fluffy, VERY furry, and a little bit fat, but she's the best thing in the world to come home to, because she's always so excited to see me.
We don't care if you have just one beautiful kitty The only requirement to belong here is to LOVE kitties!! And it sure sounds like you will fit right in Glad you joined us!!
Hi to ALL You Kitty-Lovers!!
I'm excited to be a part of this group...to Learn...To Share my experiences and to introduce you to "My Girls". I have Flora (7 yrs.) and my new Baby, Fauna (4 mon.). On 10/01/09, I lost my beautiful Lizzie. She was 12 yrs. My heart still aches for her!
I look forward to meeting and making some new Friends! Karen
Hello, Karen! I looked at your photo album and what a precious group
of girls you have. They are all so adorable. I hope you will post
them in the threads for all of us to see. We'd love to hear all about them. If you need any help posting pics....just ask! I'm so sorry for your loss of Lizzie
We are delighted to have you and your furbabies join us
It's nice to see you here with your beautiful darlings! It must be great sharing your home with them, they look such a friendly bunch. I'm sorry to hear about Lizzie though, I understand that feeling very well.
Hello. I was just told by a cat it is time to take a walk. Please tell me how to put a picture in. I put a picture in the album, put in URL, but nothing happened. Thanks.
I'm new to the this group. I adopted two siamese kittens this past summer. Their names are Miyachi and Millan. Miyachi is a girl and Millan is a boy. They are so loving and playful that I have grown very fond of them as if they were my very own children. So when I saw this site, I thought this would be an opportunity to learn some new things about cats and get a chance to chat with other cat lovers.
Hello Ira Hello Danielle Ira I sure hope you have figured out how to post those photos. If not, try going through the thread in the link below, and then if you are still having problems, just contact any of us and we'll try to walk you through:
I finally got the picture done. This is a quite old picture but it is so cute I decided to post it. He is bigger than his mother now, but he is a gentleman and lets her eat first. They are Birmans and there is an oddity about their names. In a given year all Birmans have to have the same first letter. The breeders go nuts in the Q and X years. The mother was born in the X year and her name is XancyPants. I got to name the kitten who was born in the Z year. Zen. I didn't even have to think about it. Buddhist monastery gardens are full of cats, and if any animal attains satori, it is a cat.
How sweet those kitties are! We have all kinds of threads to post them
in other than the welcome thread though, but very nice to see them here
I was wondering how the name Xancy came about. I
can see how Zen was a natural for a name when it was "Z" day, according
to your beliefs. I'm always happy to see kitties that are content as
I'm sure your kitties are I have a cat that is a gentleman too; to all lady kitties that join our household. I agree to that being a wonderful thing
Ira, I am so glad you were able to get the photo to post!! They are beautiful!! I love their names, too. Adorable picture! I sure hope we see lots of pictures of them at the different threads ... and don't forget, you can also start your own thread if you have lots of pictures you'd like to share all in one place

The problem in posting was that I was using FireFox. When I went to IE it worked fine. I'll post some others in a new thread when I get them all together. I'm glad you like them. She is now about 11 years old and he is about 9. My first cat made it to 17 and I hope these make it at least that long. My first cat converted me. I didn't like cats and was allergic to them. One day I got a call from my wife that our daughter brought home a stray kitten that she found on the way home from school. It was too cold to just dump a kitten outside and I did not know that there were no-kill shelters. I said we'd get some kitten food on the way home and then she could check the area to see if anybody claimed her. She didn't find anyone and by the third day I was hooked. After a year I got over all my allergies and we found out that there was a lie. The kitten was from a litter at one of her friends houses. I'll try to dig up a picture.
Ahhhhh, Ira. You got taken in by the "lost kitten conspiracy" I'm so glad you gave the kitty a chance, and I know you are too. My cousin had allergies to cats but he loved them and always wanted to have them living with his family. So, one day he just told the doc to load him up with whatever he could to help with the allergy symptoms and he got 2 littermates. After 2 years, he no longer had any allergies - he has 6 cats, now What a neat story - thanks for sharing that. Warms my heart to hear about people like you.
Hello, My name is Amber. I am new to this group and really like all the positivity I am reading from all the members. We have a wonderful, energetic cat named Marseek (Russian for Mars). He makes us laugh every single day. I am trying to figure out how to add a photo of him sunbathing...
Hi Amber and Marseek! Is that Marseek sunbathing there? What a sweet kitty. So great to have you join us. We have lots of threads that you're welcome to participate in
Hi Kay. Your kitties sound wonderful. I love their names Enjoy the group, and feel free to post your kittie's pictures in the threads we have for that.

Thanks for having me in the group and I look forward to getting to know everyone.
Tammy, that is a wonderful project that you are starting.
Ira, I brought home a cat from an abandoned property , and told my husband she was found out back behind a bush. I had just brought a few home, so I felt the need to lie this time.
Hi Tammy! Wow, what great names you have for your kitties I have multiple names for all of mine too....then they have nicknames on top of that. Good for you for adopting and taking in rescues. I'm excited about your feral program...I wish you success, and I can relate to that passion We are please to have you join us, and hope you enjoy yourself with us!

Hello, fellow feline fanciers. I live in Brighton UK (previously from Seattle USA) with my partner and kitty Kali (previously from next door - she moved herself in). I'm fairly new to Care 2 and newer still to this group, so still finding my way around. I'm looking forward to weaving my way through the Cat Lovers' myriad of threads and becoming part of its tapestry.
I'm new here and while I currently don't have any feline friends at home, I grew up with cats since birth. I was always bringing home strays and making friends with the ones who showed up on my doorstep. I had a cat named RazMaTaz, Taz for short, who often followed me to the bus stop and made me late for school. Another cat was named Geronimo, he had such a strong spirit and pride. His favorite spot was the highest point in our house, often the top of the fridge where he could perch there and watch the rest of us below. He also like to chase me from room to room, batting at my ankles and "trapping" me on the bed where he would sit and wait me out. I enjoyed all my cats, as each one of them had their own personalities and unique characteristics. I miss having their company and for now I'm spoiling my sister's kitty, Aziza. A diva with an attitude and we love her for it! Hopefully I can find a photo to share soon, but I'm enjoying everybody elses' for now. Thanks!
My name is Heidi I live in Thomaston, Maine. I have one female cat that is a american short haired , she is black and white with some gray in her. She is 8 years old and her name is mickie , She means the world to me. I find this group very warm and loving and I look forward to joining it.
Hello and happy holidays to everyone. All the cat pictures are adorable.Although I am not allowed to have a cat do to allergys I think they are adorable. My daughter has 3 of them and my granddaughter name one of them scooby lol.The other twos names are mystic, and angel. They are very cute.I can only be around them for a short period of time wish though I could own one.
Hi Cindy to the group! My cousin was extremely allergic to cats but he, too, loved them very much, so he got himself all sorts of allergy medications (prescriptions) and adopted two kitties into his home. 3 years later, he was no longer allergic to cats and now he has, I think, 5 living with him! Enjoy yourself at the group ... glad you joined us!
Its almost as if I am a complete newcomer! Even the site has changed ! But, thought I should drop in and say hello...or, "long time no see".....before I start with a NEW TOPIC already. (yes, I am back to also get some help for my sick kitty.) Hope my NJ buddy remembers me !
Cindy, not all cats are created equal when it comes to allergies. I had a friend a long time ago who was allergic to their cat, but the next cat they got, there was no allergic reactions. Also, some people tend to be allergic to long haired cats, while the short haired cats had no effect .
PS, you don't have to worry about not owning a cat, as none of us here own cats. They own us. A cat will only stay if he gets lots of love, attention, grooming, and good food, plus a comfortable place to sleep. Other than that, if they can get that good living somewhere else, and can't get it at home, they will leave if the front door opens.
This is the beauty of having a cat. You KNOW that they are with you because they are pleasing themselves, and are truly happy with you. There is no moral sense of obligation with the cat. I like that part too, as it is nice to know when you are truly loved.

to our cat lovers group. Amanda, you never really own a cat. The cat is there because of choice. (Theirs) Be sure to read the the threads, and also look into the archives. When a thread is idle for 30 days, it goes into the archives.
Hi Ruth Hi Amanda Bless you, Amanda, for opening up your heart and home to those two older kitties If you have any questions, we will be glad to try and answer them for you Ruth, your kitties sound wonderful! I hope you can both post some pictures soon. We love pictures!!
