It's time already for a new thread.  The old one is getting kind of long.  Here is the link to the previous.  http://www.care2.com/c2c/groups/disc.html?gpp=47&pst=1709029  Sugar

Good morning all, hope all doing well with everyone, Baby Boy went on the transport van today to be fixed. He is doing quite well now. I told my son he needed to have him neutered so he wouldnt start spraying and make his room mates mad and them throw him out or something.

I have a stray semi feral female cat outside, im goin to try to get her done on next months transport of kittys. I have no idea if she was ever done by who ever had her but im not taking any chances if i can, i dont want homeless babies out there. plus she'll get her shots too.

A friend of mine HAD about 6 cats, i kept telling them that there are organizitions that will help you fix cats for little cost, told her the kittens she had were old enough to be done. No1 wwould listen to me and 1 of the kittens started peeing and pooing on the beds and on the floor. Her boyfriend threw the almost blind cat out of the house and now is gone. Im so mad i could spit nails, it gets on my nerves so bad....And her family wouldnt just give up the kitten to me so i could fix him and get him a home....no couldnt be that simple.....sorry for the rant....he was a sweet boy....

Good morning, all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Well, I got all my plants wrapped or moved inside my storage closet so they'll be protected from the freezing weather here. Well, the lows of freezing or below. Right now it's 44F on our porch. We have 2 of those thermometers where the main part with the read-outs can stay inside while you have a wire with a lead on it that you put outside so we have have hanging by our front door with the lead out on our porch. The other is used on Ray's aquarium with the lead inside the water while the main part sits safely outside. Not much going on here, just my usual.

Sandi, loved the flowers with the hugs you posted. As Sugar, said it is a reminder of spring.

Val, sorry you're not having a good day. Hope your routine appointment with the oncologist goes well. How cool that you have a horse and that you get cuddle time with him! Your Maitland is a beauty. Of course he knows when you're not well, animals are so smart like that. Get better soon.

Sugar, sorry you're worrying about trees and the electrical line. Is there someone you can call to ask them where the line runs? If it was me, I wouldn't cut down any trees until I knew. Oh no, Rosie's not getting all her medicine? I'm so sorry. Well, you can only do what you can do. Our sink leak is still there. Ray will call in about it today and it'll probably take them 3-4 days to get here to fix it. I'd be surprised if they were here before the end of the week. Everything else is good though. Well, except for the fact that my back is hurting. I really hate cold weather. I know we're much warmer than you are but it's cold for us. I seriously don't think I could handle living where you are. I also hope you don't catch a cold or the flu. Did you not get a flu shot? I get one every year.

Shell, glad to hear Baby Boy is doing so well and that he's getting neutered. I guess your son will be taking Baby Boy after he's neutered, is that correct? That's great that you're going to get the stray cat spayed and get her shots. You're so right to not want homeless babies. How irresponsible of your friend's family. I'd be mad too.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

YES DARLA THATS CORRECT MY SON WILL BE TAKING BABY BOY WITH HIM WHEN HE LEAVES.

DONNA I DONT KNOW IF YOUR INTERESTED  BUT THE DE SPCA IS HAVING A BEAT THE HEAT PROGRAM FOR ANY PET FEMALE CAT, CANT BE FERAL. THEY GET FIXED H& RABIES SHOT FOR $20.

Well thanks Michelle. All my females are spayed, but how long is this going to go on? I mean, just in case I run into someone needing help..... Is it just over the bridge?  I use to drive there when I smoked, so it has been over 5 years now. I was always afraid of the bridge...

ITS FOR NXT MONTH, ITS WHERE IM SENDING PRINCESS P, SHE WILL GET HER RABIES SHOT TOO FOR THE $20. THIS DEAL FOR $20 FOR FEMALES IS FOR NEXT MONTH ONLY. ALSO IF YOU STILL HAVE UNFIXED MALES, THERES A LOW COST S/N CLINIC ONCE A MONTH. M OR F IS $50 FOR THE FIX AND DISTEMPER AND RABIES SHOTS INCLUDED. JUST IN CASE MAYBE U COULD USE THAT 1. YOU MEET AT PENNSVILLE ACME AND DROP THEM OFF, PICK THEM UP FOLLOWING DAY.

Thanks for the info on the females. I will pass it on or probably get back to you for more info if someone needs their kitty spayed.

I almost wish Henry would not have been neutered. He is the one that got blocked. OH, and he also sprays even though he was neutered. I guess someone caught him too late.

He seems to be doing good, and, hopefully this Wednesday will be my last trip to the vets.  I still have to change his food, but that has to wait until next month.

Teri, so glad you had a great day.  We all need those now and then!  I hope you have many, many more!

Shell, some people you just can't help.  I am so sorry for the almost blind kitty!  People like that need some kind of punishment but I guess it will be up to God to do that.  I'm glad Baby Boy is on schedule for neutering.  I'm glad Mouse is.  That and shots was the first things on the schedule for him last year.  He is a bit of a problem though.  He will instigate a fight with Little Joe and he is scratching my wood work around doors and the doors themselves!  When summer gets here it will be better hopefully.  Both will spend more time and energy outside.

Darla, I miss those few warms days and so does Tom and Punkin along with Little Joe and Mouse.  They went outside and laid in the sun in a protected area.  And the dog and Kenny spent time in front of the storm door soaking up the rays from inside.  Well Rosie got her pills this morning, but not last night.  One of them makes her foam at the mouth which also makes it more difficult.  By the way, I think I could take your temperatures!  They sound great.  At some time I read that Hawaii has the greatest weather.  I would love to go there some day, but it isn't in the cards.  I always wanted to go to Australia too.  Who knows, maybe in my next life.  And I got my flu shot.  I also get one every year.  I haven't got the flu yet either, knock on wood.  It is all around.

Donna, take care, and God Bless.

IGood afternoon, all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Had a minor catastrophe this morning. I received an e-mail from a lady about one of our MCRA {the Maine Coon rescue group I volunteer with} cats. She was asking if we had a method for introducing one adult to another. I went to reply to her with an attachemnt of the document we send out on how to introduce a cat to a new home {and one on how to introduce dogs and cats since she has 2 dogs} but when I went into my computer for the documents, the whole file was gone! Everything from all my documents to several pictures. Well, Ray came home for lunch from work and he was able to restore the whole file{yay, Ray}! I was so thrilled and relieved!   It's 43 F on my porch right now though our low is supposed to be 29 so my plants are still wrapped/moved. Not much else going on here, just my usual.

Shell, that's great that your son will be taking Baby Boy. It's awesome that you've raised your son to be a cat lover as we need more men who love cats or rather who will admit they love cats. My son is 28 and a cat lover but he doesn't have a cat right now b'cuz he's in the Army and will be leaving for Georgia in March to proabably live the the barracks {or whatever they call single Army housing now}. My daughter gave him a young kitten {about 4 months old} when he was in his early years of marriage {they're now divorced}. The wife agreed to the kitten then the first weekend that my son had 24 hour duty she had her mom come over and they took the kitten out to her mom's house in the country and set her free! We were all outraged to say the least! This was especially true b'cuz my daughter had someone else interested in the cat and if the wife had given the kitten back she would have a loving home rather than being set free to fend for herself! By now, you'll have picked Baby Boy up from the transport, hope he's doing well,

Donna, that's strange that Henry sprays even though he's neutered. I hope this next visit to the vet will be the last one.

Teri, glad you had a great day with your daughter and your grandson, Michael, yesterday. It always makes the day brighter when you're facing it with a great night's rest. Sounds like you have a tight schedule. Hope your appoinments go well.

Sugar, sounds like your animals are looking for the sunshine wherever they may find it! I'm sorry that one of Rosie's pills makes her foam at the mouth. Yes, our weather here in Texas isn't too bad though it does get hot in the summertime. I too have always wanted to go to Hawaii but it's not in the cards for me either. Maybe, as you say, in my next life.

Take care everyone and have a fantastiic day.

Thanks for the infor summeranni.

Terri glad your appointment was awesome.  Sometimes things go good, other times, well.........you know how it is.

Darla I hope your ex-daughter in law has lots of bad luck and has to fend for herself in the cold some day.  I really resent people like her doing things like that to a kitten.  Right now I feel down right vengeful toward her.  I really dislike being like this, but some times I can't help it.  All the bad things in the world seem to come together all at once.  Rosie got her am meds again.  The evening ones are my problem right now.  She doesn't come around me until I am asleep.  She hides out some where and I don't know where.  There are lots of places that a small girl can hide from the garage to the upstairs.

I am thinking about taking a nap with Mouse.  Breakfast first.

Have a good day everyone,

Sugar

Hi Sandi, Mouse is napping, what about Stripes?

Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. They came to fix our leaks yesterday and Kona was laying in the basket that hangs in a macrame plant hanger my mom gave me. I don't have inside plants b'cuz the cats eat them so I put 2 baskets in this hanger instead. The maintenance guy was so tickled he took a picture of Kona! Of course, the maintenace guys are the ones that found Kona when he was a kitten {about 6 weeks old} and they kept him for a day playing with him in their shed before they brough thim to us to see if we could find a home for him. Well, we found a home alright! So whenever, the maintenance guys come to fix something, they interact with Kona most of all.

Summeranni, thanks for the information.

Sandi and Teri, great to see y'all here.

Sugar, you're not alone. I still have vengeful thoughts about my ex-daughter-in-law when it comes to that kitten as do my kids. I truly believe that was the beginning of the end of that marriage. I also try not to have vengeful thoughts but it's really hard at times. Glad Rosie got her morning meds. I'm sorry that the evening meds are a problem. You may have to settle for just giving her the morning meds and see how that goes.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Sugar & Darla, my cousin had 3 cats for years, then met some girl who moved in with him and agreed to the cats, they got married last summer and she told him they had to go, last I talked to him ( he lives in Florida) he still had them, but I don't know if he still does as I'm upset with him if he gets rid of them, they were with him all through living in Neb, Italy & new mexico. He retired from the air force. My cat comes first in my life. Well enough  on that. Stripes is napping on the bird cage. I'm trying to catch up on my e-mails. Later.

Welcome Jynx and Misty!

Shell, I feel so much for that blind kitty and Darla for the kitty your ex daughter in law threw out

Sugar - sorry you are having problems with Rosies pm meds.  And it would be so great if you could get to Australia one day

Well, the oncologists are happy with me. I am still tired from the trip and today's heat - but getting better.  Sugar - Tasmania has started the recovery process - there are still some fires, but not posing a threat at the moment.

Have a great day everyone.

Val, so happy to hear that your oncologist is happy with you and glad that Tasmania is starting it's recovery.

Darla, that's great that you got your leaks fixed. Leaks are never good I am trying to fix the leak in my downstairs shower right now. Your ex daughter in law sounds like a monster who would do that type of thing?

Sandi, I hope your cousin is able to keep his cats, I don't understand why his wife wants him to get rid of the cats. I am very lucky my husband loves cats and dogs but more so cats, his dad was just the same. He even helps me take care of the ferals outside.

Sugar, I'm sorry that you are having problems getting Rosie her meds. My Madaline gets a pill everyother day and in the beginning it was very difficult now it's been so long she doesn't fight with me too much, I hope Rosie stops hiding so she can get her meds.

Teri, it sounds like you had a great lazy day good for you we all need those every once in a while.

Welcome to Mitsy and Jynx.

I have to get back to work. I got here late this morning after arguing with a man in front of my house this morning about some trees they were cutting down in the woods across the street from my house, one has a squirrels nest in it, where will he live now??

Everyone have a great day.

Good morning everyone, especially Mitsy and Jynx.

Wow, Punkin got my thumb this morning.  I was here on the computer when I saw she was going to jump onto the table.  I reached my hand to help her as I saw she wasn't going to make it and she ripped my thumb open with a back claw.  Wow, it hurt.  I cleaned it good and made a couple of butterflys to hold it together and then wrapped it good.  I don't want to bend it, that will tend to break it open again.  Punkin is the kitty who put me in the hospital for a week with a bite when I first got her.  Not her fault, but mine.  So I have this useless index finger on my left hand and a very sore thumb now.  She is such a loving kitty now, but I am beginning to get a little scared around her teeth and claws!!!!

Giving Rosie her pills this morning was terrible.  One of them kind of melted in her mouth before I could get it down after about 3 tries and poor little girl!  Are any of you familar with boar hogs when they are a little excited for one reason or another?  Well I am, and Rosie was acting like one.  She was chomping her mouth and large streams of heavy drool was coming from her mouth.  I kept cleaning it.  I thought it would never stop.  It just goes from   bad to worse.  I am going to stop at the Medicine Shoppe and see if there are any capsules small enough to put her individual pills in so I can give them all at one time and keep any from melting and causing druel problems.  Rosie has never been good taking medicine and now that is all her life is becoming.

Well I have read all the preceeding posts but at this moment I forget what they were all about.  I am going to scroll up before going on.

Well I am sure people who can't make a committment to a cat sure can't keep one to their spouse.  That's my thought on those who give away their pets without a valid reason, like finding a home for one if you know you are dying.  Sandi I hope your cousin stands his ground and doesn't give up his cats.  Of course I would be afraid of what she might do when he is not home.  Like take them for a drive and forget to bring them back.

Hi Teri, glad you had a lazy day and got paper work done.  That's a good thing.  Have a good trip to your pain managment doctor.

Rosie just came out and ate.  I have been checking on her and giving her kisses hoping she will forgive me.  It's hard when she doesn't understand why I am mistreating her.  It is as hard on me emotionally.

Sugar, you have probably already heard of these but have you ever tried pill pockets that they sell at PetSmart? That's terrible about your thumb, I hope it will be ok.

Sugar, pet smart has something they call a pill gun $7.99 makes giving pills easier. My cat hated the pill pockets.

good morning all hope all is well, welcome mitsy and jynx..

Sugar: the pill poppers work wonders, i use 1 all the time since i have to give 1 of mine allergy meds.sometimes 2x a day when pollen is high. It really helps keep the fingers out of harms way and if you have someone that may be able to hold rosie on a table or something & just pop her jaw open and pop that thing into the back of her throat. She will probably restist at first but they get used to it and stop fighting.  If u have no1 to help u, u can sit on your knees on your bed with her between your legs, just pull the head back and pop that popper right into their mouth and done. Ive also used a towel to wrap them in to protect u from the claws some. I wont ever go back to using my hands ever again to give meds, and it stops the wasting of meds too. Anyway hope it helps, my pill popper is made by four paws.

Sandi: ive never used butter to give meds to my cats but i will keep that in mind. I had tried everything under the sun to get my cats to take meds from pill pockets to pill dough, peanut butter, tuna.. just seems like all my critters knew it was there and refused. What lil stinkers...

Hope all is well with everyone, hope u all have a great day.

My cats hate the pill pockets too maybe the pill popper will work better. I have never seen one but it sounds great. I too have tried to hide pills in food but it only worked once in chicken the next night she ate the chicken and spit the pill out next night same thing so I gave up on that.

Shell, what do you give your cat for allergies? One of mine has allergies and she gets allergy injections every two weeks but maybe a pill would work and would probably cost a lot less.

Good morning, all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Just another mild day with our current temp being 55 on our porch and a low of 32 expected. So my plants are still wrapped. I think it''ll be safe to unwrap them tomorrow which will also be watering day.

Sandi,  wow your cousin's wife sounds quite mean. To think she'd tell him NOW that the cats had to go. I hope he stood his ground and kept the cats. As for me, I'd get rid of the person before I got rid of the cats. On another subject, the comment you left for me is blank {someone told me if I switch browsers I might be able to see them; unfortunately, I can't do that on this computer as Ray would have a fit!}; however, I do appreciate the thought.

Teri, glad you had a great lazy day. It's good that Michelle was up all day. Good luck with your pain management doctor. Hope your phone calls to the doctors go well especially the one to your eye doctor as it's not good to have fog over both eyes.

Mitsy, welcome to you and Jynx! I look forward to getting to know you. I've alwasy wanted a ragdoll but my cats are all rescues from the streets. You can see their pictures in the previous Chit Chat thread. Their names are Osiris, Shasta, Cinder, Kona, and Scamp. Osiris is a black DSH, Shasta is a calico DSH, Cinder is a Russian Blue mix, Kona is a tuxedo DSH, and Scamp is a Maine Coon/DMH mix.

Val, so glada that the oncologists are happy with you! That's wonderful news. Also glad to hear that Tasmania has started the recovery process ~ more good news.

Penny, great to see you here.

Michela, thanks, I'm also glad the leaks are fixed. You're so right about leaks. Hope you get yours taken care of. Yes, I can say a few choice words about my ex-daughter-in-law but I try not to as she is the mother of my grandchild. I just hold it all in and wonder when she's going to get hers as I do believe Karma owes her a few things.

Sugar, sorry about your thumb, I know how painful that can be. Kona got me on my chest a  couple weeks ago with his back claws as I tried to pick him up off the computer desk and away from the printer which was going and he wanted to attack the paper coming out. Wow, she got you with a bite, huh? That's terrible. When you went to the hospital with the bite did they do anything to her like keep her in isolation? I'm sorry you're having so much trouble with giving Rosie her meds. Everyone here is talking about pill guns/poppers and I agree they work great {I used to have one but it disappeared in a move}. Here's a link to Amazon with pill gun in the search field ~

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_8/178-9463037-7434634?url=search-alias%3Dpets&field-keywords=pill+gun&sprefix=pill+gun%2Caps%2C240

Just talk to Rosie and explain that you have to give her the medicine and why; also tell her that you love her unconditionally. I truly believe they understand everything we say. I agree with you that people who can't commit to animals can't commit to others.

Shell, great to see you here.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

$7.99 is very expensive for a pill gun. Most vets will give you one with your prescription. If you want to buy one from Petsmart, Amazon or whoever they are about $1.00 to $2.00. Some styles seem to work better for larger pills and some for smaller. I keep at least one of each on hand.

Some of my cats still seem to find swallowing pills difficult. For them I crush the pill. If they will eat it in food that's great but otherwise I dissolve it in a tiny bit of water and draw it up in an oral syringe and squirt it over the back of the tongue.

Absolutely love this one Alice, Thanks.

Karen, I agree that $7.99 is on the high side for a pill gun. The Amazon site had them for a bit over a dollar and up. The one I had came from my vet along with the prescription.

Alice, love the cartoon! Thanks for sharing. Ray is like that. While he hasn't built a cat tower {we really don't have room for one and nowhere for him to build anyway} he has bought a kitty condo unit that builds upon itself. He also cleans the litterbox once a day while I do it the other time and he's as bad as me when it comes to rescuing cats which is why we have 5!

Darla I think free is best!

Alice, can we clone that Cat Lady's Soul Mate? I want one!

Michela: I give 1 of my cats benedryl and the other gets Chlorpheniramine 1/2 pill once or 2x a day depending on how bad the pollen is 12 hrs apart.

I also have 1 of each kind of pill popper, the stick kind for small pills, the white 1 called a pill gun on the link above, and the small green 1 with finger holes which is pretty good for small pills not larger pills, ive done that already it doesnt hold larger pills very well.

Baby boy is doin good, he was zipping all over the house right after getting back from his neuter surgery. Still 2 kittys to go to be fixed, princess p (hubbys lil girl), and tiger the outside female.

Shell, glad to hear that Baby Boy is doing so well. My cats Kona and Scamp both came back after being neutered and acted like nothing happened, they weren't even sleepy from the anasthesia {sp?}!

Summeranni, thanks for the information.

thats exactly how he was, like nothing ever happened. A few of the others were a lil dopey for a day. I guess maybe its the strength and how long and type of anestesia thats used. The outside cat has quite the attitude, i was petting her on the head, she moved and caused my hand to rub her back for a quick moment & she turned around hissed at me and scratched me. I just looked at her like u did it, not me goofy kitty. Oh well, the scratch is already healed. She hangs out on a blanket in the shed i put down for her

The last pill gun I bought was from Omaha vaccine, and it was around a dollar, but since then, I  have seen them at Petsmart for around 5.00, and that was at least 10 years ago when I traveled to another petsmart. I need a pill gun to give pills.

Hi Mitsy,

to our cat lovers group. I am curious now as to how your kitty acquired her name?

Val, I am happy to hear that you are showing signs of improvement..

Oh, I heard all this activity around my blinds this morning around 5 am. I tried to get back to sleep but the noise kept me up so I went to see what was going on. My poor Henry, the largest cat I have, was tangled up in the wires behind my computer, and was hanging by is back legs. I got him out as quickly as I could. He never even whimpered.

Good morning everyone and welcome to Mitsy and Lynx!!  I have 3 cats and 2 of them like licking me.  Not just licking me but bathing me.  I wake up to one or the other licking some part of me.  I used to call my cat Roxy part dog but then I got Bandit and she's exactly the same.  So weird

Oh my gosh it's so cold this morning.  It's -20C or  -4F.   I have to go to the bank this morning ... my car is going to complain big time.  It doesn't like waking up to the cold anymore than I do.  One of my neighbours dropped over last night and when she left, Savanna decided to dash out the door.   It was already dark outside so I had to go hunt down the flashlight and search for her.  I'm always a little leary about walking around the property after dark, especially this year cuz it seems like the residents of the forest are living pretty close to my house.  (Hmmmm...or maybe my house is a little too close to their habitats).  Anyway, she wasn't far...once she saw that the door had closed behind her, she ran over to the shed closest to the house.  She acts like she wants to be outside all the time but once she's out there, all she wants is to be in her cozy home.  I didn't even have to get her....she took one look at me and jumped up to be carried back over the snowy tundra  LOL

Sugar~~I hope your thumb is on the mend.  Those puncture wounds hurt so bad, don't they?  I've had a few doozies from Bandit during our morning romps when she's playing hide and seek under my pillows.  I don't think I've ever had a problem giving an animal meds, though most of my practice was on dogs.   All the deworming meds have gone on their food or the vet administered them and none of my cats has gotten sick as of yet. I imagine it's alot easier holding a dog's mouth open than a cat's....you can see the teeth you're trying to avoid so much better.  I'm going to look for one of those pill popper things if I ever have to medicate the cats.  Somehow I doubt they'd have much of a sense of humour about me shoving things down their throats    I love your method of squishing pills, mixing them with water and squirting them onto the back of their tongues Karen.....that seems like it would work for most cats.

I guess I'll have to come back later and do some back reading.  I better get going on the things that need doing so I can get back home and be warm.  My daughter and her husband are going skiing this weekend and hopefully they will stop by on their way up to Blue Mountain.  I wouldn't mind going up there for the weekend....not for the skiing but for the spas....they have beautiful outdoor hot springs up there so you can soak in the wonderful warmth while surrounded by the outdoor winter beauty of the Blue Mountains.  My bones are longing for that experience  LOL.  Have a great day everyone and STAY WARM!!

Good afternoon, all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. It's 64F {17.8C} on our porch right now ~ the high is supposed to be 66F and the low 42F. My plants are unwrapped and I'll be watering later today. Not much going on here, just my usual.

Karen, didn't see your post yesterday. Yes, free is best though $1 something works too if you have to buy one.

Shell, yes, my other males were drowsy and kind of slow for a day or so. I was expecting that with Kona and Scamp but it just didn't happen. I guess it does depend on the type of anasthesia {?sp} used. It does sound like your outside cat has attitude. Don't you just love it when they cause us to do something then they look at us like it's all our fault?

Donna, wow, good thing you got up! Wonder how he got tangled up in the first place? Well, it's good he let you get him untangled without any problems. Reminds me of a kitten I had several years ago who was playing with the strings of the blinds then she jumped off the window sill and was stuck hanging by her neck. I was so glad I was right there.

Teri, glad you had a great day with no pain. Your cats sound like they're grieving. I wouldn't worry about them at this point.

Angie, I think your cats just really love you. Wow, you are really cold there! I couldn't handle temps like that. Glad you got Savanna back inside. Guess once she got outside in the snow she changed her mind about being outside! Of course cats are good at changing their minds! Check out the link I gave to Sugar for pill guns on Amazon, they start at a little over a dollar. The hot springs sound wonderful. That's an experience I'd love to have as well. Hope you get to see your daughter and son-in-law this weekend.

Take care and have a fantastic day.

Angie, Punkin didn't just puncture my thumb, she ripped it open over an inch long and it is deep.  It wanted to separate and that is why I made the butterflies to hold the edges together.  I have it taped so I can't bend it to help keep it together too.  And Rosie, I have pill pockets and pill poppers and none works.  Her pills are so small the pill popper won't hold her pills and one of them makes her drool for minutes if I don't get it down just perfect and she has a smeller and a taster that finds meds immediately in foods.  I have even had her medication (in the past) made to put on the inside of her ear and she just won't cooperate.  She is only 12 years old.  I don't know how we are going to succeed.  Just keep working on it I guess.  At least she feels good right now.

Alice I loved the cartoons.

It's been a busy day and I still have some things to do, so I better log off.

Thanks Shell, we have a "Medicine Shoppe"  that I am going to on Monday that will have the capsules you are talking about.  Wish me luck.  If they don't have ones small enough I will try your link.  Hey I hope you are getting a good rest and thank you!

Teri I hope  you are enjoying your cake!  I made brownies a couple of day ago.  I sure enjoyed them.  Keeping busy will keep you young, but a week of rest feels soooo good.  I hope you get that week of rest.

Everybody, wishing you all a great weekend.

Good afternoon, all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going going great. Things are good here. We went to lunch with some friends. It was a thank you lunch for all those who helped them move some furniture last weekend. Ray was one of the ones who helped and they said this lunch was done around his schedule b'cuz he helped the most! It's 74F on our porch right now ~ not like winter at all. Not much else going on here, just my usual.

Sugar, so sorry that you're having so many problems giving Rosie her meds. Hope the capsule thing helps. Wow, sounds like you have some damage done to your thumb. I have something similar on th ering finger of my left hand. A cat scratch that opened up my finger except I don't know for sure when it happened b'cuz I didn't feel it {I have some nerve damage to the pinky and ring finger of each hand}. I think it was when Scamp was trying to get greens that I was giving to BabyFace out of my hand. I have a bandaid on it but it sounds like yours is deeper than mine. Glad you enjoyed your brownies and the rest you are getting.

Teri, glad you had a great day. Hope you enjoy the cake that you and Michelle made. Give the cats time and they'll come to terms with their loss just as y'all will. Sounds like y'all have a busy week coming up. Hope all the appointments go well.

Shell, great to see you here.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Oh my gosh Sugar...sounds really painful.  I've done some really dumb things over the years that resulted in deep cuts.  I was sawing something a few years ago and I slipped and almost sawed my thumb off.  I was alone at home and my car was having intermitent starting problems (bad fuel pump) so I was at a loss.  I don't know where I'd heard that you could use super glue but I was willing to give it a try at that point. I got it to stop bleeding and disinfected it; then I glued the edges together with super glue, bandaged it up and finished what I was doing.    Yes, I know, too many years living in the forest you're thinking....lol.  Seriously though, it healed up and I can barely find the scar..it is so faint.  When Bob got home he was going to take me in for stitches but we looked at it and it looked alright, as far as wounds go.

Anyway, I will be back in a bit.  I woke up to a blizzard this morning with strong winds and lots of snow.  I have to go out and shovel the places that need shovelling because we have a cold front coming through later on this afternoon. It got really mild outside by yesterday afternoon so a lot of melting has gone on.   I don't want all the slush under the snow to freeze solid because it just makes it so much harder to walk.  The plow guy just finished my driveway thank goodness though I doubt I want to drive anywhere anyway

Enjoy your Sunday morning everyone!!

Good morning, all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. It's 55F on our porch right now. Looks like another day of warm weather. Ahhhh, Texas winter. Not much going on here, just my usual. Ray did clean the living room thoroughly today ~ dusting, vacuuming, and shampooing the carpets. My foot is aching where I broke it.

Teri, glad you had a great day and that y'all enjoyed the cake. Putting your poems in a journal is a wonderful idea. I have a journal book that has my poems in it. Saving your writings for your writings for your grandchildren is also a great idea.

Angie, oh no, almost sawing your thumb off? That is bad. Glad you thought of Super Glue and that you barely have a scar now. Wow, a blizzard! I just can't imagine all that snow and shoveling. I'll stick with my winter weather.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Hi everyone,

It is 32 and dropping to 20 degrees F. It is also snowing, and I caught a cold today. All I did was go into a store for a half hour, and by the time I hit my road I was sneezing. This is awful.

I just came over here to check the mail.

Good evening, all! Just checking back in.

Michela, wow you are really cold ~ -26C is equal to -14.8F! Donna just forgot the minus. The site I use to convert the temps is: http://www.celsius-fahrenheit.com/

Yes, our temps are pretty good compared to all of y'all who are having true winter weather.

Ray is good about cleaning house since I can't. He even washed the curtains since they probably got wet from the rain.

Thanks for the thoughts on my foot. I guess since I broke it, it will hurt sometimes most especially when it's cold out.

Donna, you are having some cold weather too. I'm sorry you've caught a cold. That's really a bummer the way you caught it.

Sandi, you are also experiencing really cold temps.

Teri, glad you're having a great day. Glad the cats are coming out of their depression and that you're bringing home her ashes.  You're another one with really cold temps.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.
