Since my last post disappeared from the previous thread I figured it was a good time to start a new one.  Here is the link http://www.care2.com/c2c/groups/disc.html?gpp=47&pst=1711896  Sandi asked what flavor of ice cream I was going to share.  Vanilla.  I like strawberry too Sandi, but I usually buy vanilla because it is so versatile.  I tend to make berry syrups and have things like a peach pie that goes really well with vanilla.  It was close to 40 last night.  It was wonderful for a change from those teens.  I went out this morning and filled feeders up only wearing jeans and a t-shirt.  How about that?  Who would have believed it yesterday.

I need to do a little cleaning up in the basement.  I have some more things that need to be thrown away and the steps always need dusting.

Everyone have a wonderful Monday, the start of another week.  I have 3 days of decent temps ahead according to the weather bureau.  Rain though.  It sprinkled for a while last night and then again before I went out to feed.

Take care,

Sugar

Hi Sugar,

I just found out that karen can't post. Do you know of others having the same problem?

Good morning, all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. I've got an appointment with my pain management doctor tomorrow afternoon ~ I'll get my pain pump refilled and my trigger point injections. It's 11:25 am here and already 73F so looks like we've got another warm, winter day ahead! I may dust for Ray {he ususally does the cleaning} if I get off the computer in time today. Nothing much else going on here, just my usual.

Sugar, great, I'm so glad you'll share your ice cream with the cake! And you're right vanilla is very versatile and it goes with everything. My all time favorite ice cream though is peppermint. It's hard to find except during the holiday season unfortunately.

Thanks for the sympathy/empathy on my first marriage. It was rough on me but I got my 2 kids out of it and I wouldn't trade that for anything. You're so right that bad things happen to good people. We just have to get through it and learn whatever l esson we were meant to learn.

Sorry you got the evil-eye from Little Joe. How cool that he was watching such a beautiful bird. Of course, it's not like he could catch the bird or anything. I'm sur eit was awesome watching that heron fly off.

As for Kenny, yes, I would lcontinue the meds for another day or so. Better to be on the safe side and make sure whatever infection he had is completely gone.

Glad you're getting some decent temps for the next few days. It's great that you were able to go outside in just jeans and a t-shirt.

Thanks so much for starting a new thread.

Sandi, great to see you here.

Donna, oh no, Karen can't post. That's horrible. Hope she gets it resolved soon. Care2 is having some problems. This morning when I tried logging in, it kept telling me that my password was wrong. I went thru that before and it was 3-4 months before I was able to get it fixed. Fortunately, this morning I was able to get a new password and sign in with it with no problem.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Darla,

You might have hit the nail on the head. Part of her problem is that when she goes to post something, the post goes away and that log in thing pops up. Or the post leaves as soon as the log in thing pops up, and then her post is gone. She CAN access the petition site though.

I posted this on the feedback group, but only one person responded so far. I can recall when I went to post here , and there was a pop up that said I must be a member first, and log in. Then another time, care2 had to give all of us new passwords because of some hacker or something like that. I think it all comes from facebook...

Teri, losing weight is scary if you don't have a plastic surgeon that will remove the excess skin. I could stand to take off 50 lbs, but I sure wouldn't want sagging skin, and what about the face???? You can look great in the body, or feel great anyway, but then you look 10 yrs older if no one gives you a face lift..... I recently met someone that said she weighed a lot, and lost a lot. She had a gastric bypass or her stomach stapled, not sure, but she lost 150 lbs. Her doctor gave her a face lift because the fat was covering her eyes. Then he threw in a tummy tuck for free. Now that was nice, but, she got a divorce..... I guess it changed her personality.....

Now, dearest coffee drinkers please speak out. This is a dumb question from a smart blonde.

Now, 50 years later I will finally ask..... When you make coffee, there is light and dark. I usually slide the thing to the dark. I figure it would be stronger coffee  with the same amount of coffee put in. I make 11 cups.

Now, what if I put enough water and coffee in for 11 cups, but put it on light??? Why would someone put it on light? I mean, why not use less coffee and put it on dark? Saving coffee, and making it mild...... Is it the color? or the strength ?  I mean, the reason for using the dark, light lever......

I made a pot of coffee a little while ago, and  put the lever in the middle. I put the coffee up to the 11 cup mark too. It is pretty good, but I am wondering if I had it on darker, would it be bitter????

It takes me many years to be curious sometimes....

good morning all, hope all is well. things going ok here i guess. my car has been broke down for quite some time. hubby finally had some time to work on it. it seems to be the starter. all the kittys are doing well. i made the mistake of buying the cheaper canned cat food for them, its pretty obvious puddy is diabetic controlled pretty well by diet. i gave him the 9lives he became quite lethargic. a lil bit later i gave him the friskies with the meat pieces and he got better. i guess i learned my lesson with the food. he's 14 sometime this yr, hes my old man. salem was having trouble with his breathing yesterday he laid around and slept quite a bit. but all seems better today, full of pee and vinager as my grandmother would say. time to get to work around here so hope everyone has a great day.

Donna, I think if you move the lever to dark it would be stronger and may make the coffee more bitter. My mom likes her coffee strong and she has it set to the darkest setting and it just rots my stomach (and I am a coffee drinker), she has it set too dark, but some people like it like that

My mom recently lost 110 pounds, she does have some sagging skin and her face has a few more wrinkles now but she says she feels so good. She had to lose the weight as she had a knee replacement and she is only 55 and the doctor said they will usually only replace the knee once they said it would last longer if she took the weight off. She also had Fibromyalgia (sp?) and since she lost the weight it has disappeared. I should mention she also goes to the gym and I know that does help a little with the sagging skin too.

Shell, I hope your hubby can fix your car it's terrible when cars break down they are so expensive to fix. I am gald that Puddy and Salem are feeling better now, I guess you will have to keep with the Friskies. My grandmother says full of pee and vinegar too!

Teri, I hope the plastic surgeon can help you feel more comfortable. I am confused if it's January too, it's going to be 12 degrees Celcius today and it is raining but last week it was snowing and it was -26 C. I don't get it .

Sandi, the cat in that "It's Monday" picture is beautiful. Hope you are feeling well.

Darla, did you get Baby Face's habitat cleaned? I just cleaned out my tortoises habitat on the weekend, it is such a big job

Sugar, you really have me craving peach pie now with vanilla ice cream, I might have to go buy some .

Everyone have a fabulous day,

Its 61 out today, crazy weather we have been getting.  I made dessert for all, enjoy.

Michela,

So then, a person might as well put less coffee in the pot, and then put it on dark?  I mean, why put the same amount of coffee in the pot and put it on light ?

I lost 80 lbs years ago. Did it a few times, and I felt great, but I use to get the morror out, and look down on the table, and my face would hang.   I didn't have too much of a problem standing up though. Still, I looked better once I gained a few pounds back.

Donna, I don't think my coffee pot has a dark or light switch. when I was still working the coffe was premeasured and you just put the bag in and hit a switch, it was farmers brothers brand, what kind do you use?

I use whatever I can get.... right now it is folgers. I also have some chock full of nuts coffee... It usually turns out ok. I like to use the flavored creamers in my coffee. International delight French vanilla and hazelnut sugar free.

I do have a lever though, and was wondering if I used less coffee and put it all the way over on dark, would I still have good coffee than if I used the full amount, but put it on light. That one doesn't make much sense to me.

I do HATE weak coffee, but I also don't like bitter coffee that is WAY too strong....

Does anyone here understand or like the new photobucket?  I figured out how to get the link to post something here, but cannot figure out how to go through my albums faster. I get the hour glass , and I wait, and wait and wait.

Good afternoon, all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Not much going on. My daughter called this morning {she lives in Kennewick, Washington} and we talked for about an hour! She's been working at Amazon for the past few months as a temporary employee and she called to tell me they just made her permanent! She's also adopted an outside cat {they've been feeding him for several months} taking him in to be neutered and to get his shots and naming him Whiskers. Her other cat, Princess, wants nothing to do whatsoever with him. Then I had to get ready for my doctor appointment today so I'm just now able to get to the groups. It's 2:20pm as I write this and it's 80F on our porch.

Sandi, love your daily photos; the cat was adorable.

Teri, sorry you got bad news from the plastic surgeon. At least he can do some of it. So you took a long nap in the rain, that just grat. Too bad the side effect is being up and wide awake  when you should be asleep.

Donna, sounds like Karen is really having some problems. Hope Care2 gets it straightened out soon. As far as Facebook and Care2 I don't do anything that connects them in anyway b'cuz it usually means adding something {I forget the words I'm looking for here} to my Facebook account and I won't do that. Besides, I hardly use my Facebook for anything other than to wish people a happy birthday.

I'm a die hard coffee drinker but our coffee pot doesn't have a light/dark switch and Ray typically makes the coffee setting it up the night before and programming our pot to go off the next morning. So, I don't know what to tell you about your situation. Ti my way of thinking though, if you add less coffee and put it on dark then it might make stronger coffee than it normally would.

Shell, sounds like you're going to have to stick with the Friskies. I hope your hubby can get your car fixed.

Michela, I did get BabyFace's habitat cleaned. It's a semi-big job for me but probably not anywhere near as big as yours.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

I guess I can use less coffee if I put it all the way over on dark. I use to have a cat called Whiskers. He was precious. Maybe since your daughter's cat is called Princess, she might have come off her high horse if he was named Kind Whiskers.

Oh crap!!!!!  I just lost my post.  Mea Culpa.  Well really this durn laptop!  Oh, I wish I could buy a real computer.  No way though.  It makes me curse a little as you can tell!  Well let's see.  I think I must have lost a post to care2 yesterday because I would almost swear that I posted yesterday morning.  And Donna, I don't know of any one besides Karen, who you told me about, that couldn't post.  I know I lost one on Mouse's thread just recently.  I am not going to worry about it though.  Stuff happens, right?

Thanks Darla for noticing the new thread and the kind word.  Kenny looks and sounds great.  Next week, weather permitting he will go in for his yearly physical.  I am supposed to go to lunch with a friend if she decides to brave the weather.  We do have tornado watches (I think watches is the right word) for Highland, Brown and Clermont counties.  Also I read we will have gusts up to 50 miles an hour!!!!  Wow!  That's faster than I can drive on most of our roads around here.  Forty to 45 is their normal limits with an occasional 35 thrown in.  I wonder if I would get a ticket if the wind blew me up to 50?  That's a thought.  Darla that is wonderful news for your daughter becoming permanent at Amazon.  I think that would be a great company to work for.  Congratulate her from me, it tells me she has been doing a great job and deserves it.  Also, King Whisker might be a slightly better name for her new furkid.

Donna I don't like coffee.  I do drink it occasionally in the AM, but I drink mostly tea with hot chocolate thrown in when the weather is really cold.  Speaking of cold, at 2 o'clock this morning it was still 66.  It is going down slowly but surely.  Tomorrow will be very cold.

Best wishes Teri on all your medical concerns and your loved ones.

Shell I hope Salem and Puddy are feeling better.  I am afraid to say anything, but so far I have not had a cat with sugar problems.  I am going to knock on wood right now.  Breathing problems I have.  Bless both kitties.

Michela that a wonderful thing that your mom has lost so much weight and her fibromyalgia has gone away.  That must have taken so much will power for her and even her family and friends, but well worth it.  Bless your mom and here's prayer for her future knee replacement.

Sandi, thanks for the dessert.  I am going to eat it this evening.  I am going out for lunch to a Chinese buffet.  A very good one.  I will think of you.

Darla I forgot to mention my creek is a fast moving river today.  Some where upstream it must have  really poured down rain.  It did rain here, but nothing like what the creek is carrying down to the Little Miami River right now.

Rosie and Tom is driving me mad this morning.  Both have been wanting out, I finally let Rosie out a minute ago.  I couldn't stand it any longer.  She can come in to the basement from outside, but she can't come into the house while I am gone.  She does have a selection of small, water-proof houses.  Yesterday she went out and didn't get any meds.  But today she had her entire morning meds.  I went to the Medicine Shoppe and bought small capsule which hold her meds and oh I love them.  Thanks to whomever recommended them.  That capsule went down that little throat as if it knew where it should go and no horrible slobbering like that boar hog I mentioned.  They are a little hard to fill, but as I do more and more it will be easier.  When I go down again I am going to see if there is some kind of little funnel where I can smash her pills and fill the capsules up.  A hundred of the capsules are under $5.  I have a weeks supply already filled.  More to come.

I am going to quit right here before I lose this.  I am also going to copy it, cause I sure don't want to lose it!!!!

Good morning, all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. My appointment went well. Made some medication changes thanks to my insurance company not wanting to cover the amount I was taking. Didn't get to water my plants yesterday so will do that today. It's 11:05 am as I start this post and already 60F. Not much going on, just my usual. Am having computer problems ~ something about a video card I think. Anyway,  we've got a fan blowing in the computer tower and that's allowing it to work though I don't know for how long so I made Cat Lovers my first stop out of the groups I post in regularly.

Donna, the less coffee and putting it all th eway on dark makes sense to me. Oh, I'll have to tell my daughter to start calling her new cat King Whiskers! She says he's adorable but still wary of people though she's working with him.

Teri, sorry your blood work was off. Hope the new medication doses help. Glad you had a good day otherwise.

Sugar, sorry you lost your post; that sure is frustrating when it happens. Sorry too about your laptop, wish you could could get a desktop.

Hope you get to go to lunch with your friend. Wow, you're having tornado watches! Do be careful as 50 mph winds can do some damage. LOL about getting a ticket if the wind blew you up to 50 mph!!!! I can just see you telling a cop that the wind did it!

You're welcome for noticing the new thread.

I'm so glad that Kenny looks and sounds great.

Thanks on my daughter's behalf! I will pass on your congratulations for sure. Amazon is a good company for her and something she can make a career out of.

So, your creek has grown, huh? That's good to know the water is there ~ better to be a little fuller than dried up. Just Mother Nature at work. I'm sure the Great Blue Heron will love it! As will any other predators who catch fish.

Glad you got those capsules and that they're working. I remember them being recommended but not who did the recommending. It's great that Rosie's getting her medicine much easier now.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Sugar, I am so happy for you that the capsules are working so great. They are pretty cheap too so it's well worth it to use them and Rosie must be happier without the drooling. I hope you have a nice lunch with your friend and I will pray that you don't get any tornadoes.

Donna, did you try the coffee thing, let me know if it worked as I am curious about it now?

Darla, it is a big job to clean their enclosure as it is 6 feet long and 3 feet wide, but they are big girls so they need the room, I will have to get a picture of them to show you but I am not good at posting pictures. I still need to post pictures of all my kitties for everyone to see, maybe I will work on that this weekend when my husband can help me.

Everyone have a fabulous day.

good AFTERNOON, HOPE EVERYONE IS OK. SUGAR IM SO GLAD YOU FOUND THOSE CAPSULES I TOLD YOU ABOUT, AND THEY WORK QUITE WELL FOR YOU. ANOTHER NOTE FOR PUDDY THE DIABETIC CAT, HE DOESNT LIKE BEEF FLAVORED FRISKIES, HE TURNED HIS NOSE UP AT IT TODAY. PRINCESS P IS ALL SET UP TO GO BE FIXED TUESDAY OF NXT WK. STILL HAVENT GOTTEN THE CAR FIXED SINCE HUBBY HAS BEEN WORKING LATE, AND GOT INJURED AT WORK YESTERDAY. HE TRIED TO FIX A RUNNING LIGHT ON THE TRAILER OF HIS SEMI. THE PLASTIC BROKE AND FLEW UP AND HIT HIM IN THE EYE. HE'S TALKING ABOUT GOING TO HOSPITAL TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. HOPE ALL HAS A GOOD DAY

A high wind warning is in effect for today it just said, and it is 60 degrees. It is nice out as long as the sun doesn't come out with the 60 degree weather. We are expecting rain tonight.

Sugar, that is a might fine excuse with the wind blowing your car down the road at 50 mph. I think the cop might enjoy that one.  The local highway rt 55 is a 65 mph road, and so they go 70 to 80 all the time. Going 65 it makes you look like you are standing still.

The main road near here is rt 40, and it is suppose to be 50 mph. I pulled out on it and there was some guy that came out of nowhere flying by, that came up behind me as I was trying to pick up speed. We only had a block before we hit the red light. Then he jumped out of his truck and proceeded punching my window and yelling that it is a 55 mph road. I was amazed that he thought that as he was going about 70... It was suppose to be 50.

Oh it is so good that Rosie has had all her meds for one and a half day!  The little capsules do hold all her pills as they are very small.  I was worried about that.  Those little capsules roll down her throat slick as can be.  Any body having problems pilling a cat, they might be your answer.  They are slippier than pills themselves.

Oh Donna, the cold got here.  A strong wind around 20 last night in addition to snow flurries.  I think tonight will be below 5 degrees again with wind and snow flurries so enjoy the couple of warm days, I did.

That's okay Shell, I make mistakes all of the time.  It makes life interesting, right?

Teri I think I will start relaxing as soon as I get off the ole computer.  I have been busy until now.  Enjoy your family, both 2 and 4 legged.

Monday I will call and make an appointment for Kenny.  Weather depending of course.  Tom is still okay.  He still seems a little edgy and wants to be with me.  Lunch was great yesterday.  Connie loved the restaurant.  A very reasonable but wonderful Chinese Buffet.  She says she will take her husband there some time.  She thinks he will love it too.

Well Donna, Darla, Shell, Michela and Teri and everyone else the weekend is looming.  Weather will be kind of bad but after all it is winter.  Have a good Thursday.

Good afternoon, all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. I got my plants watered yesterday and Ray got our computer fixed! So there's not a fan blowing on the computer tower to make the computer limp along! Not much else going on here, just my usual.

Michela, yes, it definitely sounds like you have a big enclosure to clean out. I'd love to see some pictures. BabyFace's habitat is a 40 or 55 gallon {can't remember which}, it's 36 inches long by 17 inches tall by 19 inches wide. I've got a  picture of BabyFace posted in one of the Wildlife threads but I'll post another of him here for you to see. He's big for a dragon {who's not a German Giant} at about 18 inches long from nose to tip of his tail.

Shell, I kinda thought it was you who recommended those capsules to Sugar but couldn't remember for sure so didn't say anything. I'm glad my memory worked on this occasion! So sorry to hear about your husband's accident. I would recommend going to a doctor asap. He can go to a therapeutic optometrist or an ophthalmologist and they can help. If you call an optom, etrist just ask if they deal with eye injuries {quite a few of them do} and it'll probably be cheaper than an ophthalmologist. I used to be an assistant for a therapeutic optometrist back when I worked. That's great that Princess P is going to get spayed. Sorry that pUddy doesn't like beef flavored Friskies ~ it sure is frustrating when they don't like the food you bought. Don't worry about the extra post of a previous one.

Donna, so you're going to have high winds too? You can be like Sugar and have the wind push your car a  bit faster on the road! Wow, what a guy ~ talk about road rage!!!! What did you do. I would've been freaked out to have someone banging on my window yelling at me about speed limits.

Teri, glad y'all had a great day. I think it's great that y'all do art together and write in journals {I'm a big fan of journals}; playing games together is wonderful too. Sorry that Harry's ankle is still bothering him and he has to use a cane. Hope it gets better soon.

Sugar, I'm so thrilled that the capsules are working out so wonderfully for Rosie. It's great that her pills all fit. Glad you had a great lunch with your friend. Glad too that Tom's doing well. Hope Kenny's upcoming appointment goes well.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Hello Everyone
Wow - it has been crazy and I wasn't getting my notifications and when I got one today - obviously I forgot mypassword - but I reset it and I AM BACK

I hope everyone is doing well - still got allmy kitties and lovin' life

Kathy,

How did you reset it? Karen is having trouble now.

I went ahead and had a cup of instant this morning. I usually make a pot when Jimmy is low on his ice coffee.  I only make that when I have light cream in the house.  I was thinking maybe using the normal amount of coffee, and putting it on light would give it a smoothe taste, but I will just have to experiment.

OMG - I can't remember exactly - when I went to this thread from the email that I gt - it said I had to sign in to read it - it gave me the option of signing in with FB so I tried that but then it said it's best to sync them both and took me back to the sign in page - underneath the boxes was a forgot passwors link
Hope this helps

Babyface looks so beautiful!l  Just like my Lizzie.  Post him on the wildlife thread again!  And the squirrel is so cute Sandi.

Listen everyone, I just dropped in this morning to ask for prayers for Rosie.  She had some kind of problem this morning after doing so good these last 2 or 3 weeks.  I don't know if she had a small stroke or heart attack, but I am scared and concerned about the roads if I have to go to the vets.  Right now she is resting and I will be spending the day watching her and giving her a kiss now and then.  I don't want to bother her, so not too many kisses.

Thanks for your help,

Good morning, all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. It's 11:30 am as I start this and it's 67F on our porch. Looks like we're in for another warm day. I got a surprise gift from Ray! He ordered from the Publisher's Clearing House thingy getting himself a food chopper and he got me a set of 4 gemstone earrings! The earrings were black onyx, red jasper {or maybe agate}, rose quartz and a green pair that I wasn't sure about {maybe jade}. Anyway, I gave the green pair to my friend next door b'cuz I don't wear green and she loved them. I've got the others on my earring holder which is really cool. Not much going on here, just my usual.

Donna, thanks for the compliment on BabyFace. I do love him and I'm thrilled when others appreciate him like I do. As for the resetting your password, like Kathy said, there is a thing on the sign-in page to click on for forgetting your password. I just had to do it recently b'cuz it kept telling me my password was wrong when I was entering the correct one so I reset it.

Sandi, absolutely love the picture of the squirrel! You should post that in our wildlife thread. So, Stripes brought you a vole? Was it dead, injured, or just stunned? Just my curiousity peeking thru to ask. Don't you love it when they chatte rat birds and other critters like squirrels? Mine are all inside cats but they'll chatter at the window when they see birds or squirrels.

Michela, thanks so much for calling BabyFace adorable. I certainly think he is but then I am biased! He is full of personality. He doesn't like Ray much for some reason. When he sees Ray holding on to me in front of his habitat, he'll puff up his throat and get all black! And when Ray had to clean out the habitat while my foot was broke BabyFace would try to bite him. He doesn't bite me at all.

Kathy, great to see you here.

Sugar, thanks for saying BabyFace is beautiful. Again, I may be just a tad biased but I think he's a beautiful dragon too. As I'm sure your Lizzy was. I'm so sorry Rosie had a bad episode. Will keep you both in my prayers ~ Rosie for healing and you for protection on the roads if/when you go to the vet as well as for feeling better yourself.

Shell, wow, you have 2 cardinal pairs! Cardinals are my favorite songbird. I think they're such beautiful birds and they sing so prettily.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Forgot to tell y'all that I won a trivia contest our apartment complex did! It was 6 Valentine's Day questions {what was written on the first ever Valentine's card, when was the first Valentine's Day card andn where can it be seen, "sweethearts" heart shaped wafer candies were first  created when, who invented the first Valentine's Day candy box and when, etc}, ht efirst person to coorectly answer the questions won a $25 HEB {a Texas based grocery store} gift card and I did it! I was so excited!

Darla , wow you won thats great. Glad you got earrings from Ray. The vole was dead I think one of the outside cats killed it and stripes found it. We got snow here and its 1 out, cold. Sugar saying prayers for Rosie, keep us informed.

Sugar, I will keep you and Rosie in my prayers, please let us know how she is doing and if you go out to the vet please be careful driving.

Darla, congratulations on winning the trivia contest, I love gift cards because then you can get whatever you like or need. The earrings sound beautiful, it's nice that you gave a pair to your neighbour.

Shell, I hope Puddy is feeling better now.

Praise God, Rosie is with me still.  I was so afraid she was close to dying.  After about 15 or 20 minutes, which seemed a life time, she began resting.  I called Bill who knows Rosie's medical history and he told me her heart most probably got out of rythym which was making her dizzy and nauseous.  And she did vomit toward the end.  Around noon she was ready for her breakfast.  After that she sat on the kitty tree in the sun and watched birds for a while and then she wanted to play.  I chased her and teased her with the fishing pole.  She was a happy camper then.  After that we took a nap.  She layed on my chest and cleaned my nose as usual.  I know she is on borrowed time, but we are going to enjoy all of it that we can.  She is getting her meds easily now, thank goodness.  Hopefully that will keep her going for a while.  She just ate a good dinner.  Thanks to everyone who has been sending good vibes and prayers to Rosie.  I've spend the whole day babying her and she has loved it.

congratulations Darla, I wouldn't have known the answers to that quiz!  Enjoy your prize  And your warm weather.

Guys I have to go, thanks again, Rosie is looking for me to chase her again.

Glad Rosie is feeling better. Stripes has been a holy terror the last few days since its been cold out and I made her stay in. She's  sleeping now so its  quiet here for now. Enjoy every minute with Rosie. Love to that mouse from stripes.

I'm so glad to hear that Rosie is doing good for now.

I have a small turkey in the oven for the cats breakfast. I put it in at 8:30 on 250. I didn't have any foil to cover it. I hope it cooks through as it will be in there until at least 5 am. I get up to go to the bathroom several times a night so I can keep an eye on it . I just don't want it drying out. I usually put foil over it, and put it on 325...

Another thing I have been meaning to mention.  We all talk about those itchy bald spots the cats like to lick the fur off of in the spring and summer. Sometimes the spots are weeping and raw. I use to put corn starch on it to soothe them. HOWEVER, I discovered something great for that. It is bandaid Calamine spray. It only takes one time of spraying the spot, and it dries it out right away, and there is no more itching...... Not sure where I got it, but I am going to find it and buy more.

I have been trying to change the group photo for 3 days now. I keep refreshing the page, and I still see the kitten with the sweater on. This Miss Feb. is a sweet female kitten. If anybody sees a new group photo please let me know.. The new one is where I change  the photo, but it will not move to the group photo home page.

Good afternoon, all! Hoppe this finds y'all doing well aaand with things going great. Things are good here. Not much going on, just my usual. Thanks everyone for the congrats on the trivia contest.

Sandi, yes, the earrings were a real treat and I liked them quite a bit. Wow, it's really cold there. It's 12:30 pm here right now and  is 71F on our porch.

Michela, yes, gift cards are great. Ray got some grocery items items we needed including a bunch of frozen fruit for the  fruit smoothie she makes us in his blender. The earrings were beautiful. I enjoy  giving things to my friends when I can.

Sugar, I'm so very glad that Rosie is with you still. Bill opinion sounds about right. Sounds like you're having some really special one-on-one time with Rosie. That's wonderful that she still does all that playing. As for the trivia questions, I used Bing to look up the answers! I wrote them all down and turned them in to the office not keeping a copy and I don't remember or I'd give everyone the answers.

Sandi, so Stripes is going stir-crazy, huh? Well, maybe it'll warm  up soon and you can let her go out.

Donna, hope your cats enjoy their turkey. Thanks for the information on the itchy, bald spots. It's good to know and I'll keep that it mind.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

I am just going to quickly check the threads out and go keep Rosie company.  At 3:30 this morning she had another episode.  Duration was shorter but she did lose control of her bladder but she didn't vomit this time.  I have spend all day with her, she's eating and again she wanted to play and I have napped with her off and on.  I will try to drop in later.  Keep healing prayers coming to Rosie.

Argghh!  Just lost a post.  It's bedtime here, so I won't try to rewrite it all tonight.  Just want to say that I am sending healing prayers up for Rosie, and thinking of you Sugar.

Isn't that terrible Val losing posts?  Between care2 and my laptop I lose one frequently.

Donna is the new baby for the month a white kitten?  I've seen that and the sweater girl both this morning,

This is another short post.  I am hanging with Rosie.  She didn't have an episode this morning and I pray that she doesn't.  Oh those capsules are wonderful.  If they get in the mouth, unlike a pill, they go down.  If I ever have to just give one little pill to some one, I think I will use capsules!  If she is okay all morning I think I will go to Church.  It depends on Rosie.

For everyone feeling bad and Teri for being worn out from all she did Friday, Bless you and get to feeling better quickly!

Good afternoon, all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Our soon came over yesterday with his new girlfriend and our grandson {he's 2}! He took us out for a late lunch to a great steak house and we had a wonderful meal {I had steak and shrimp}, I even got dessert to bring home! Not much else going on here, just my usual.

Sugar, I'm so sorry that Rosie had another episode. Am keeping her in my prayers. I'm glad you're able to give her her medicine so easily with those capsules. Hope you get to go to church.

Sandi, great to see you here.

Teri, I'm so sorry that you had a bad day and that you overdid it on Friday. You were smart not to drive too much and just have your daughter stay the night. Hope you get to feeling better soon and can get everything done that you need to.

Val, sorry you lost your post. Great to see you here.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Hi there everyone!! I haven't been able to post for so long now; I would try to send a message just to find that I had no Post Reply button.  Last night I wanted to Skype with Bob so I the laptop to use the webcam.  After we spoke, I went on to check some emails and opened up Care2 just for the heck of it.  There, at the bottom of my message box was the post reply button, right where it was supposed to be.  I checked the site on my desktop this morning but still no way to post.  I dunno but here I am on my laptop, trying to post a message.  This is my second try...I've already lost my first post.  I really dont like laptops much...lol.  My fingers just feel uncomfortable on this keyboard.

Sugar~~You and Rosie are in my prayers!!  I am glad you are getting to spend some time with her while she is feeling ok.  Hopefully she  won't have any more episodes.  I was just thinking that she was getting half meds since she went to the vets and  now this week she is getting the full dose because you've got capsules and she is having problems.  Just thinking...something to ask the vet if you think its relevant.  Hang in there my friend!!

Donna~~I am going to have to look for that Bandaid Calamine...it sounds ideal.  I haven't had any problems with my cats but I remember when I had dogs, it was a constant problem.  My daughter just got a puppy and he's got really dry skin...I'd like to  find some of that stuff before he starts chewing holes in himself once the weather warms up and skin problems flare up.

Teri~~I am sorry to hear that you're feeling so stiff and sore.  I think we are all guilty of overdoing it at some time or another.  I hope you can spend your Sunday snuggled up at home with your furbabies, being waited on hand and foot.  You deserve some pampering for all that you do for everyone else!!  Take it easy.

Hello to everyone I have missed....I don't want to tempt fate and lose another post because it's getting too long.  I am going to poke my head in to my other groups and say hi and maybe I'll be back later.  I hope this problem resolves itself soon....I can't imagine doing all my posting from this laptop

Sugar, where did you see this kitten?

I can't get her in for Miss February.

I tried for days..... Asked care2 for help, but got none.

Hi Sugar - How is Rosie doing?  I am still sending healing prayers her way and some for you  too.  So glad that you have those capsules so that she gets her medicine going down nice and easily.  I wonder if I can get them here?  Bumbles is so difficult to pill if he needs it and it really stresses him poor boy.

Darla, I am in love with Babyface!  I really love lizards and that is such a good photo.  How doe you care for bearded dragons?

Teri, I hope you are having a better day today.

We have had a VERY dry January.  We are on water tanks and we ran out of water in our main tank, so we are now on the back up tank.  Fortunately, it has quite a lot of water in it, so we should be OK if we are careful.  Because of the dryness, I have had a lot more birds coming here for water.  I now have four bird baths - and on a hot day, I am filling the most popular one three times a day.  Thankfully, other people around the state are also looking out for the birds and making sure they have water and food.  I was listening to talk back radio the other day and a man rang in to say he had let the birds eat all the pears off his 90 year old pear tree.  God bless him   I love to hear stories like that, which is why I like coming to the cat board - it cheers me up to read about all of you caring for animals.

God bless and have a wonderful day.

Hi Donna, when I go back to topics, she is there.  A cutie if ever I saw one!

I am going to start a new thread as soon as you see this one.  Let me know.

Thanks Val.  I am so relieved, another day and no episode with Rosie.  She is curled up in my bed and I am waiting for her to get up so I can change it.  But she comes first.  Remember if they have the capsules, a size 4 for kitties.  That's the smallest I am aware that is made.  I always put a towel down when I fill them.  If you drop any part of the capsule that towel comes in mighty handy.  I dropped a top on the counter top and it went to the floor before I realized the possibility and it is still missing.  I am sorry about the dry spell you are having.  When I first moved out here to the farm I had a cistern, and I know you know what that is.  During the dry spells we had to buy water to fill it back up.  Now I have 'city' water.  Praying for rain for you and the wildlife including birds!  Also when I moved there, I traded my washer and dryer for two hereford calves.  I named one Mattie short for Laundermat.  The other I just named after a friend, Willie.

Oh yeah Angie, I thought about the medicine or lack of medicines in connection with Rosie.  Like maybe the lack of caused the problem, or if one of the meds caused it.  I will be taking Kenny in for his physical this week and will discuss it with her vet.  Right now she is full of vim and vigor just like Sandi says Stripes is cause she can't go outside in this nasty weather.  Hey I hope your computer problems straighten out.  I have a few of my own, but right now things seem to be working.

Take care every one.  I am going to check on my little girl, Rosie.  If she ever decides to get up, I need to do some work in the bedroom.

Good afternoon, all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. I got my plants watered yesterday and that was about all I did besides reading, computer stuff and watching tv with Ray in the evening of course. Today not much is goin gon either, just my usual. Ray won some money on a football square game so I was able to get some new tennis shoes! I got some off The Animal Rescue Site that were regularly $44.95 on sale for $28!

Angie, so great to see you here! I have missed you. Sorry you haven't been able to post. Sure hope it gets resolved soon. At least you have the laptop even if you don't much like it.

Donna, that's one beautiful kitten! So, she's our Miss February? Hope you get the situation resolved soon and can post her.

Val, thanks for your compliments on BabyFace. He is quite the character and I love him. He always gives Ray a hard time but with me he's very gentle. Caring for them is rather easy really. They have to have a large habitat {I have a 40 or 55 gallon terrarium thing for BAbyFace ~ can't remember whether it's 40 or 55} though you can start out with something smaller when they're babies. Most stores like PetSmart sell a bearded dragon starter kit. Anyway, when they're babies you have to give them lots of protein which I did by giving BabyFace mealworms and you may have to hand feed him those worms {I used a large pair of twweezers to hold the worm and give it to BabyFace}. You do have to handle him alot so he gets used to being held. As they grow, you can add crickets then you add greens. I often spray BabyFace with a waterbottle to give him extra water. Now that BabyFace is a full grown adult, he eats mostly greens with some crickets every once-in-awhile. There are several good books on bearded dragons. Success With a Reptile Pet Bearded Dragon by Tom Mazorlig is one.

Sorry you're having such dry weather. It's great that you keep up with the bird baths when you're rationing water yourself. I like the story about the man letting the birds eat all his pears.

Sugar, glad to hear that Rosie is doing well and hasn't had anymore episodes. It's good that she's full of vim and vigor!

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Sugar, I clicked on back to discussions, and I don't see the kitten. I don't even see a place where a kitten should be.

YEP, you are right Sugar. The kitten is there in the my groups section. I can't get the kitty to show up on our front page though.

When I read your post Sugar, where it shows the kitten, I saw the other one. Then I refreshed my page and she was there. GREAT, but our group photo hasn't changed.
