Good afternoon all! Hope this finds yall doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Have been busy with MCRA again today. Not too much else going on here, just my usual.

Sugar, thanks for starting us off with a new thread.

Teri, glad your daughter is happy in Florida. Must be hard with her so far away. My daughter is in Washington {state} and my son is in Georgia and I miss them something fierce. That's good that Michelle rearranged her room. That's nice of her to give up a blanket so the newborns will have a comfy nest. Glad you got the right stuff for your computer now and that Harry got his state tax refund check.  Texas doesn't do state taxes. Hope y'all get Michelle's new laptop and bike as well as Harry's new TV.

Sandi, love your good morning picture. More rain huh? Sounds like  it's doing some good. A whole yard of flowers would be nice! Sorry you had computer trouble yesterday. Glad it's better now.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Grandma and I had dinner at Ruby Tuesday's and it was good.

Terri, I just read Chaileray is missing.  I will be waiting for  you to tell me that the tuna brought him home!  I worry about my new kitty Wosie.  I am trying to keep her in the house full time, but she wants out so bad I just know she will do it sooner or later.  I dreamed she ran outside last night and wouldn't come in.  I know how you must be worrying.  Prayers are coming his way to keep him safely back home.  The kittens are so cute.  I know everyone is looking forward to seeing more as they grow.

Hello everyone, I'm finishing the laundry, and will be leaving for the store, these furkids insist I bring them something good.

Good afternoon all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Have been busy with MCRA again today doing e-mails and processing an adoption application. Am busy trying to bring back my mexican heather, it started drying out on me for some reason. Didn't think it was that hot yet. So, I've watered it daily along with my mini roses for the past few days. Have an appointment with my PCP tomorrow to check my potassium level again. Not much else going on here, just my usual.

Wendy, wish Buni a Happy First Birthday! My youngest, Scamp, will be 2 tomorrow.

Sandi, great to see you here.

Laura, sounds like you had a good day. Glad you enjoyed your time with Madeln and Grandma.

Teri, awwww, the babies are adorable!!!! Thanks for sharing. So, did you ever figure out what you have as far as boys and girls? Sorry that Chaileray scared you but glad he made it home. Hope all your appointments go well.

Nenon, great to see you here.

Frances, great to see you here.

Sugar, sorry you're so worried about Wosie. are you trying to keep her in for good or just 'til she gets more used to your place. I will say that eventually they get to where they'll stay in. We rescued Shasta off the street when she was about 3 months old and she became an indoor only kitty.

Michela, great to see you here.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Hello everyone, Sandi I sent you a green star for the lovely card for Buni, well as Sandi knows (I sent her a mesage) Teri and I had the same problem,

mine was the day before yesterday, I noticed it was 5pm and I hadn't seen Buni, Buni always checks in  , always meow's an entrance, well for the rest of the night I was in and out calling him, I saw loads of cats, but no Buni, I was so upset, but had to get some sleep at 3am, not before I had been wet through a couple of times, it was that light fine rain that soaks you, I went to bed, trying to sleep, and must have drifted off, because at 7am my husband got up, and who was squeaking at the back door = Buni, I heard my husband  shout, he's here !!! , Buni raced up the stairs jumped on the bed, walked on the duvet , and me, meowing loudly, telling me off. Then he heard the cat food being dished off and was gone woooooosh.

Buni has stayed close to the house since, he slept on my bed all night last night, I was in bed early, with a cold, !!!have been sneezing all day. Buni though did enjoy his b'day tea .

Lovely pics of the new babies Teri, and so pleased Chaileray came back  safe and sound,

Sugar it is a worry when the cats go out, I try to get all mine in before it gets dark , 9 times out of ten I succeed.

Darla thanks Buni was spoiled, which he enjoyed, hope Scamp has a good day, say happy birthday from Buni and myself, Jimi Eric and Mini.

Nenon I will have a look at your thread, I too put a thread up, but kept to information, about cats, and the odd queston, from us owners, I learned alot gathering info about cat's their health and  diet/behaviour. .

Laura what was your Rossetta Stone session ? glad you had a nice meal in "Ruby Tuesday's", A great rolling stones track./

Michela hi hope you are well, and Hello Frances, hope you are ok.

Forgot good luck tomorrow Darla, have you tried any of those recipe's rich in potassium?

It was ST Georges day yesterday here,

He is the Patron Saint of England, known to have slain a fire breathing dragon, who was going around bar-b -queing "English folk",              well ST George saved us all, so to mark his day, we wave the English flag, -not the "Jack" and wear a red rose, I was going to post a rose to you yesterday, but I really did feel poorly, so had a hot toddy , dosed myself with Ibruprofun and paracetamol, then went to bed, I didnt get up till midday today, and am feeling loads better , so here is a red rose , and may ST George fight all your battles for you and keep you , your families and pets , kitties all safe , love and hug x wendy k x, Jimi, Eric, Mini and the "usual suspect" my Buni

FOR ST GEORGE, AND ENGLAND,WITH GODS HELP MAY HE KEEP ALL HERE SAFE, (NOT FORGETTING KITTIES AND ALL OTHER ANIMALS )

HI, Teresa. I'm so glad your cat is back home. I had a cat that escaped a lot, when we lived in a house. I began to shake the dry cat food bag, calling her, around the house. Thank God, always found here. When it was time to eat -- I had 9 -- I used to shake the bag, and they all came. That's why  that cat appeared when she heard the bag shaking, I guess.

Hi Darla and Group. Care2 is slow as yesterday. I can't play!...        Hugs. Nenon.

Madeln is great. Ruby Tuesday's was yummy. I had a Southwestern Chicken burger as the main meal and a peanut butter pie for dessert and it was great. Mom is coming to pick me up to go back to Ocala tomorrow. The pollen is really out today and Grandma and I have been sneezing and my eyes have been watering like crazy. The pictures of the kittens were great.

Teresa, God is in charge for sure/  Many years ago I tried to get a kitten that was very  feral, and running through the woods. She was about 3 months old, and all black. I had no trap when I drove back down the street to get her. All I had was a carrier and a can of food.

I went there for 3 days praying, and on the third day I told the Lord that he must not want me to have the kitten, even though it was getting cold and winter was just about here. That night, the kitten was here on my porch. God knew that I was not going to get that kitten with no trap, and he brought her here from quite a distance.

We went out that night and bought a have a heart trap, and we got her right away. Thank you Jesus!!!!

Good morning all, I am going to be working in the basement today.  It is too wet outside after the rain yesterday.

I can't make up my mind about making Wosie an indoor cat only.  For some reason I worry that she will stray.  Usually cats stray to here, but what if she starts off here and strays some where else?  She was found as a stray.  It is very safe here for cats but I have this fear that I would lose her.  Please tell me that is unreasonable and after a little more time, I should allow her to find the pet door in the garage and venture outside.  If she finds the door itself, I know she is smart enough to find it to come back in.  What do you think?

Teri, the Lord has blessed you by bringing Chaileray and Tygersue back home.  Hey enjoy the kittens.  That's a blessing too!

Everyone take care,  I'm ready to start cleaning the basement.

Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Today is Scamp's second birthday! He's our youngest. I think I'll treat the cats with salmon today in honor of Scamp's birthday giving Scamp the biggest portion of course! Today is a busy one for me ~ am still doing MCRA stuff, have got to water my plants, and have a doctor's appointment this afternoon. Other than that, just my usual going on.

Wendy, so sorry to hear that Buni disappeared for awhile and glad to know he's home safe again. Also glad that he had a good birthday. It's fun to spoil our babies. I forgot to try the recipes {need to remember as I've got a feeling it'll be a continuing thing} but I've been eating lots of potatoes {Ray even made me some potato soup}, cantaloupe, kiwi, and bananas all of which are high in potassium. I truly appreciate you gathering the recipes for me.

Nenon, great to see you here.

Laura, sorry your allergies are bugging you. Hope you get them under control. I found out a few years ago that I was allergic to cats! Now, I've been around cats the majority of my life and had 4 at the time so simply asked what I had to take. I take 2 meds {one OTC and one prescription} as well as use allergy eye drops {when my eyes get bad} to keep the allergies under control but it's worth it. I'd always thought I had year-round environmental allergies before I was told the only thing I was allergic to was cats. Glad you had a great meal.

Donna, so glad you got that kitten.

Teri, 2 girls and a boy huh? That's great! I like the names you've come up with and if I may weigh in on the second girl's name I really like Magena.

Sugar, I'm a fan of inside only cats but you probably won't be able to keep Wosie from finding the pet door. However, I think you should try to keep her inside only for awhile before allowing her to go outside. She needs to get used to your home as being her home and that could take at least a month or two. Once she does find the pet door try to go outside with her and allow her time outdoors to be under supervision. Don't work too hard cleaning the basement.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Hmmmmm.....how did you find Mouse Sugar??  I know how hard it is to let our furkids (or human kids) out of the house on their own. So many dangers lurking everywhere and what if they get lost and confused and scared?  I understand but since your other cats go outside, sooner or later Wosie is going to get outside.  Is she spayed?  I think cats are usually pretty smart and if they have a great  home with lots of love, they have no reason to stray far.  All my cats are indoor cats but there are alot of dangers around here for them and I prefer them where they are safe.  I have had outside cats and almost every one met an untimely end on the highway.  It's just too sad    I'm sure you'll do what you think is best Sugar, you're a great furmama!!

Teri~~such cute kittens!!  I love kittens....it must be wonderful to watch them grow!  We haven't had any here in so long and I miss them.  We raised german sheppards for many years and had so many cute puppies.  I think I cried after every one we sold.  I'm so happy that Chaileray came back ok and peace reigns over your valley again!!

Nenon~~9 cats....wow!!  It sounds like my childhood...we had 14 adult cats and nobody really knew how many kittens lived in the barn.  When it rained, they kicked the dogs out of their doghouses and crowded inside, leaving the dogs out in the rain.  I am trying hard to find a picture 'cuz this was one of my earliest memories.  These dogs were guard dogs who were chained up away from people during the day for safety reasons so to have the cats boss them around was pretty funny

Darla~~good luck with your mexican heather.  Whenever my plants look poorly, I take a few cuttings and then I transplant the plant into a new pot with some fresh soil.  Most of the time they start doing alot better after the initial shock wears off and if they don't, I have cuttings sprouting and ready to pot.  I am probably going to get some mini roses for Mother's Day so I will again try to keep these things alive    I have never had good luck with them although they are the only thing that doesn't seem to thrive around here.  Happy birthday to Scamp....I'm sure everyone will enjoy the party treats!!!

I can't sit in front of this computer a moment longer; I have to go outside and soak up some sunshine!!  I was snowing last night around dinnertime....grrrrr.  I got my septic tank pumped yesterday and the poor guy was standing in a mini blizzard of wet snow while he was working.  I hope everyone has a wonderful day.....I will try to be back later

Teri glad all ok with Babie, all the waiting over, and you have 2 girls and a boy kitten. pleased all ok . welcome kittens

Darla no prob re- recipes, just glad you are ok, yes I was so grateful my little Buni returned safely, He did scare himself, and stays close now, nips in all the time meowing his baby meow, he is much more cuddly, so I wonder did he get locked in somewhere?. Oh well I will just be grateful he returned unhurt. Hope you got on ok today?

Donna what a great ending for the kitten, to land up on your porch, definitely God's guiding hand, I really enjoyed reading about that.

Nenon, my reception has been going slow as well, hope you can play the games today, 9 cats wow,  4 are enough for me, like your thread .

Laura, try eating honey, it is a natural remedy for hayfever, it has to build up in your system though, my son gets hayfever, every year I tell him a couple of spoonfulls of honey, - kids do they listen.

Sugar I am with Darla re- Wosie staying in for as long as possible, you will feel happier as well, what about on of those cat harnesses, you could walk Wosie around , if wosie became desperate to go out (replace the dog, with the cat lol)

Well tea time for the cats, then a treat for me, a chinese take-away for my cold you understand pop in tomorrow love to all and kitties, x wendy k x and kitties

Good afternoon all! Hoppe this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Got my plants watered. Need to make some ore phone calls on th eadoption application I'm processing for MCRA. My appointment went well. Got an antibiotic called in for a bladder infection/UTI {the doctor didn't say which one it was} and had my blood drawn to check my potassium level. Other than that not much going on here, just my usual.

Sandi, Scamp thanks you for the birthday wishes. The Tigger picture is a cute one. Scamps sends headbutts and purrs.

Angie, thanks for th egood luck wishes on my mexican heather. I'm really worried about it. I think I'll try some MiracleGro next time I water. That is if I remember to mix it up. I don't have another pot big enough to transplant the mexican heather but I'll keep your advice in mind if I'm able to get one. I hope you do well with the mini roses you'll be getting. I want my kids to send me giftcards so I can go get some fowers for Mother's Day. I want a white mini rose, some impatiens, and something else colorful that I can put in my partly sunny spot. So you used to raise German Shepherds? That's so cool as they're such great dogs. We had one when I was in middle school. We lived on a "farm" and Storm was a trained watch dog {trained by a guy who trained police dogs}. He was awesome with us but a stranger couldn't come on our land. Enjoy your outdoor time! Scamp thanks yu for th ebirthday wishes. Everyone had salmon though Scamp got the largest portion. Ray also broke out the catnip and the other cats all had a blast with it. Scamp, however, is one of those cats that it doesn't affect so he just watched the other cats being silly!

Wendy, I'll print out those recipes to have for future use. Thanks for understanding ~ my brain is not what it used to be and I have memory problems along with abnormal brain function due too a closed head injury from a car accident in which I also broke my back. If I don't write things down, I forget them. I even write down on a calendar when I water my plants so I can keep up with my schedule. So glad Buni returned safely though I'm sorry he was scared. Okay, what exactly is tea time for the cats? You have me curious.

Laura, great to see you here.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Hello everyone, just a quick pop in, Hi Darla, please dont worry about the recipe's as long as you are doing ok is really the most important thing to me, but if you do find them useful great , let me know, now tea time for cats, is their food time, if I time it right we all eat at the same time, I have got a strict routine now, it ensures the cats eat all their grub, not the two interlopers, I found the other day munching my cats whiska's !!!!!!!  after tea they have their last stroll outside, I get them in for supper at 9pm, this is when the local wild birds are about to have their supper, with my cats all in, the birds and all the little night creatures are safer too, My cats then go out after 8am , when the early birds have had breakfast. So I really do try to keep everyone happy, (of course there is always the odd present), but then they are cats?? got to get to bed, my eye's are very tired, cats all spark out, Buni on my bed waiting for me, he is being very good , grateful to be safe and with "mom" at night lol night all Darla nice to have explained , see you all soon love hugs x wendy k x

Good evening everyone, hope all is going well Happy that the weekend is here. Spring is slowly coming, a beautiful weekend is on its way. I can ony imagine how many times our kitties are going to try to escape the house, lol. We only take them outside under supervised conditions so I'll make time to do that

Darla, thank you (from the last chit chat post) and hope your potassium level is ok. Is your dr worried it is too low or too high? I am very sorry to hear about your accident.

Wendy, very happy that Buni returned safe and sound. The other day I got a phone call from a neighbor who lost her cat. She had declawed him (one reason not to declaw cats) and was very worried. I called her and let her k now I would look for him,I hope he is okay and she found him

Laura, I like Ruby Tuesday's too. They have a great salad bar

Take care everyone and enjoy the weekend.

Hugs and purrs,

Angela, I have lived here for 35 years and my kitties have always went in and out and I have never lost a one because of where I live.  It is very secluded and far off the road.  Darla I know it is inevitable that Wosie will find her way out, but I want to keep her in as long as possible.  I have made it for almost a month.  I keep the door to the basement closed so she won't find the pet door.  It comes in from my garage to the basement and then up the steps to the house itself.  She is spayed of course and a tough little kitty.  When and if she goes outside I want to be in control.  I will let her find the door out by herself.  I kept Punkin in for two months in my sewing room  and then let her find her way in and out, but she was very wild.  Pudge was very wild too.  I kept her in the spare bedroom from Christmas to April.  Then let her find her way about too.  She said she was retired though, and was going to spend her days in the house except for brief deck time.  I miss her, I just lost her a couple of months ago.  She was going on 22.  Both Pudge and Punkin were trapped and taken straight to the vets.  Enough of this, I am getting sad having just lost 4 very senior pets and one 12 year old, Rosie, to heart disease.  Mouse just showed  up here one day and I fed him.  He has been socialized with people.  He was a young tom and I worried about him so I took him to the vet and had him checked out and neutered and vacinated.  And named him Mouse.  He was not house trained and we had us some rough times for a while and I remember the first time he used his litter box.  It was wonderful.  He never made another mess.  He goes in and out and is perfectly content and happy with his home and doesn't have a reason to roam any more.  He has bird and squirrel feeders to entertain him and all the food he can eat and trees to climb and space to run.  He likes to run. He also has his own Boston Rocker which he loves.  It used to be my reading place in front of a window, but now it is his beloved bed.   He is loving now, but was a little rough in the beginning, attacking my leg (playfully) but rough.  And he was rough with the other cats.  He has settled down now and I couldn't want a better behaved kitty.

Everybody, I think it is time for house work.  I've done yard work, basement cleanup this week and now it's time for that dreaded thing, HOUSE WORK.  I don't mind working hard outside but I hate housework.  Thanks for all the neat posts and sharing,

Sugar

Just popping in for a quick hello.  It is raining outside again and I imagine the flooding in my area continues.  Supposedly the river is supposed to crest over the weekend so the flood waters can start to recede.  My property looks alright except for some really deep puddles on my dirt road....parts of the town that have waterfront property, either on the lakes or the rivers have big problems.  Their houses are sandbagged and sitting submerged in water.  So sad....the cleanup is going to be long and arduous.  So many people in the area are seniors so the mayor is calling for volunteers to help out in the worst places.

Here is a picture of my friend's road in a town just north of me.  This town sits in a valley so they are really having problems.

Flood in Minden spring 2013

Anyway, I'm giong to go make some coffee and see what's going on.  I will try to be back later to read some posts.  Have a great Saturday everyone!!

Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. It's the weekend so no MCRA business unless the applicant who application I've been processing chooses to call me back. Not much else going on here, just my usual.

Laura, great to see you here.

Wendy, okay I won't worry about the recipes. I feel fine, no side effects showing up that I can tell. Thanks for explaining tea time for the cats. Sounds like you have a great schedule and that you're doing your best regarding the wildlife.  I free feed my cats and they're all inside only kitties.

Kristi, my potassium level is too low by just a little bit. However, I take a potassium supplement twice a day so it shouldn't be too low at all. I'm eating foods high in potassium as well as taking the supplement. Oh no, a declawed cat out on his own. That's terrible. I hope your neighbor finds him. Enjoy your lovely spring weekend.

Sugar, I think you're doing great with Wosie. Keeping her in as long as possible works out great. It obviously worked for Pudge and Punkin. I think it's cool that Pudge told you she was retired. I'm sorry for your loss, I know it's still hard on you. How sweet of you to give up your reading spot to Mouse! Oh, the things we do for our kitties.

Angie, sorry to hear about the continued flooding in your area though I'm glad to hear that your place is safe. It's great thatt he mayor is calling for volunteers to help as the seniors especially need it. What a picture that is of your friend's street!

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Hi Darla, Kenny found me many years ago.  He was a declawed kitty and very thin and hungry when he found me.  He ended up weighing 23 pounds, but now he is down to a trim 16.

Angela, that's a lot of rain water.  The driver isn't trying to drive through that water is he?  Or is he the one in the back of the truck?  That's scary.  I hope it stops soon and no more flooding.  We are due for rain again today, maybe some storms with it.  I'm glad you are in a safe place.

Darla I think you should take a picture of your Mexican Heather.  I've never seen any.

Here is a picture of one of Chewy's and my creek crossing this morning.

Stone steps across the creek

And here is a couple of pictures of what the land is like behind my home.  I live in a very safe area, you can only get to my house down the driveway or walk in at your own peril.  By that I mean slipping and sliding down the hill sides.  I do have an alarm for my driveway.  The deer set it off a lot.

Creek Scene 4.JPG

Creek Scene 3.JPG

These two pictures are taken down stream from me at the Nature Center.  I can't get to a place to take a picture until I get here.  Chewy and I walk there very often.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Fabulous place to live Sugar, dog and cat heaven , Wosie must be content to stay in with you, or she would sure let you know otherwise, when Buni went missing for all those hours , I knew something was wrong , Buni always checks in, he pops in every couple of hours meowing, hello , pops his head round the door meows , then goes out. so when I hadn't seen him for five hours, mmmmmm . Any way he returned, bet you think same as me that -sorry but I think de-clawring is so wrong, I know cats can do damage to furniture, you should see my leather settee and chairs!!!, and can claw your leg, I have scars , but they need their claws for protection, and to climb with.

Kristi has your friend found her cat?, and thanks for the Buni well wishes

Angela how is it by you? any flooding? I am thinking about you, flooding takes so long to clear up after hate it.

Darla glad your feeling ok at the moment, I think if people tried just a little bit harder they could get their cats in before dark, not only does it help all the night creatures, it keeps our kitties safe, because they are vunerable at night re- traffic, and predators, they soon settle if they have a place of their own to flop , all mine are nuetered and micro chipped. Bunni is the worst I am afraid, he even caught a frog, we rescued it and took it to the moat , which is where it came from, I think, we have had a few frog visits, my husband er --frog marches them back to the moat he he.

Sandi love the cards, frog day tomorrow, wonder does stripes know? he could spread the word if he knew wink wink

hope I havent missed anyone, hello to all here, hope everyone is having a good w'kend, chat soon, Teri hello hope all ok with new kittens ,

oh I have my son's here tomos, they are coming for sunday lunch, and to do the garden for me, good boys that they are, the cats will be so pleased to see them.

Well time for me to settle down and watch a film, I have a little treat for the cats to eat, hopefully we can all watch the film, I have the new comedy, about a son who takes his mom on holiday, so love to you all and all kitties and pets, xwendy k x, Jimi, Eric, Mini and the usual suspect Buni xxxx

Teri glad to see you here. I couldn't sleep so thought I'd check the emails since I'll be gone Sunday. Glad you found a vet you like thats so important. So thelittle cuties are walking around, give the  a kiss from stripes and me. I love baby kitties, wish they could stay little longer as they grow up so fast. sorry to hear about Mack, saying prayers for him. Hello and goodnight to everyone ..

Teri, I sympathize with you and your Big Mack!  Over the years I have had so many pets with cancer.  My Pudge was the last.  She was almost 22 and developed cancer on the jaw bone.  I had to put her down when it began preventing her from eating.  God bless little Big Mack and you too.  I'm glad you like your vet.  I like mine too.

Wendy I even hate to say the word, declaw.  Nothing I own is worth that mutilation.  The last thing I do before going to bed is check on the cats.  Little Joe is the only one allowed out at night and that is because he insists, but he always ends up in the basement through the pet door.  And sometimes he opens the basement door and comes in the house.  It's his call.  I make sure the door is loosely closed so he can open it.   I am not worried about cars, just raccoons and oppossums looking for a meal.  They carry parasites and disease and can attack a cat.  I know they don't often do so, but with my luck one would some day.

My Bo, a Weimer lab cross loved catching frogs.  We called him the 'frog dog'.  He had a very soft mouth and very seldom injured or killed one.  He would bring them to us with legs dangling  outside his mouth.  He was another of those wonderful dogs.  Quite frankly, I think all dogs and cats would make wonderful, intelligent pets and my heart bleeds for all those who are abandoned and or abused, never knowing love from us.  Thank all of you animal rescue friends here on the Cat Lover's Board.  I only rescue those who come into my life on their own.  That's how I got Mouse.  That's also how I had 13 cats a few times and most of them lived a long, happy life.  Bobby was one of those who only lived with us, much loved, about 5 years.  He had a fast growing cancer in his chest cavity.  Another case of cancer.

I am familar with flooding.  Not on a large scale, but as a child our house was flooded by the Little Miami and we were not close to the river bank.  That was the biggest flood I experienced.  There were many times when roads were closed due to high water.  Then one year my creek seriously overflowed and ended up in my basement and garage.  My poor little Rhubarb went down to use the litter box and it was floating!  He woke me up meowing.  The basement has never smelled as good as it did before.  It smells a little musty almost every time it rains.  We didn't get the rain we were promised yesterday.  It looked like it would most of the day.  It drizzled a little over night and is supposed to storm and rain again today.  We'll see.  Angela keep dry and safe.

Hi Sandi.  Tell Stripes hello from Mouse.  He is taking a nap earlier than normal.  And he spent the entire night sleeping like a log on my recliner instead of his rocker.  Sometimes now he takes a nap on the sofa with me while I am watching TV.  Do you remember the problems and worry I had about him when I first adopted him?  He has adjusted to our household and the entire family from Chewy on.  And so has Wosie.

Have a good Sunday everyone.

Good morning everyone!!  Great pictures Sugar...it reminds me alot of my house.  The sun is shining and the temperature is closing in on 60.  The cats had breakfast and are now camped out in front of their various windows, wishing they could go outside I'm sure.  Nope, I'm wrong...they're all snoring away  LOL.  I am going outside to clean out the firepit and rake up a bit....I'm not looking forward to it because I pulled something in my back already this week and have been sitting around with my hot water bottle.  Unfortunately, nobody else is going to do anything out there if I don't so enough whining...I'm off to work outdoors.  Have a wonderful Sunday everyone

Sugar, here is my mexican heather. It sits in between a viola {the  white flowers} and a mini rose {the red flower}. However, it doesn't look this good right now as it got dried out somehow.

Good afternoon all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. I'm very ticked off at one of my Adoption Counselors {ACs} with MCRA. I assigned him an application {app} last Monday and he said he'd contact her on Tuesday. Well, I never got the cc of the introduction letter the ACs send out so beginning on Wednesday and continuing thru Saturday morning I sent 2 e-mails and left a voice mail to which he only responded to the e-mail sent Saturday morning. He then finally told me that he couldn't work the  app nor could he work any in the near future. I started working the app as soon as I got his e-mail even though I'm supposed to take weekends off. However, the applicant sent me an e-mail stating that since she never heard from anyone, she went to a shelter and adopted. We got some rain last night. Not sure how long it rained as it started when I was going to bed but it was coming down pretty hard. Not much else going on here, just my usual.

Sugar, so glad Kenny found you. Poor baby being declawed and left outside to fend for himself. I don't understand people who "throw out" kitties to begin with but to do so with a declawed kitty who is pretty much defenseless is beyond cruel. Kenny sounds like he's a big, happy, and healthy boy now. Love your pictures, your place is beautiful and the creek crossing in great. Sorry about the flooding in your basement. I'll bet that poor Rhubard was totally freaked by a floating litterbox and all that water! Hope Little Joe is never attacked by a raccoon or a possum.  Your Bo sounds like a great dog to have caught frogs without harming them.

Sandi, great to see you here. Thanks for the Frog Day tag.

Wendy,  I think it's great that you get your gets in before dark. Mine are all inside only cats so I don't have to worry about that. I agree that declawing is cruel and shouldn't be done. Cats need their claws for many things.  Glad your sons are coming to visit and are going to help you in your garden. Hope your cats enjoyed their treat.

Teri, it's great that the kittens eyes are open and that they're walking around. Sorry to hear about Mack. Glad you found a vet you liked and that he's calling your previous vet to offer him a position. It'd be great for you to have both vets in the same plac.

Angie, it's great that you're having a sunshiny day. It's 79 here right now {1:15pm}. Sorry you pulled something in your back and are in pain. Be careful doing the firepit and raking.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

But I can do that, from now on. pics and short stories that are interesting. So tomorrow on I'll post here, OK?.  Furry hugs to all the cat lovers.   Big hugs, Nenon.

Hello everyone, a very quick pop in , hope you are all well? , I read this story and just had to share it, the thought of the two puppies sitting waiting patiently for help, made me smile and say ahhh , so I know we are all cat mad, I also know many of us have had a dog, or have dogs and kitties, this was such a good news story, I just had to let you know.

I will pop in later and say a proper hello , have a read and let me know what you think, love to all Xwendy k x>>>>>

I just have a few minutes so I will be brief.  Nenon, you can start a thread when ever you feel like it.  I have more stories, but am short on time right now.  I will be back I promise.  I think it is a good thread.

I'm coming back Wendy to visit the puppies seeking help.  I may have seen it another time.  I loved it.

Thanks Darla for the Mexican Heather pic.  Is it hardy?  I have a spot I could put it if it is.  A friend of Ray's died many years ago and he had cats.  We think just maybe Kenny had belonged to him because he preferred Ray to me. He was a man's cat.  We also thought that whoever had care, family or otherwise, of his home might have just thrown Kenny out.  That is one of the things I worry about for my babies.  I have done all I can do right now for their future without me, but I hope I know when I don't have much time so I can make sure everything works for them.

Teri I bet you have lots of fun playing with the kittens and watching them get stronger and more nosy all the time.  I'm glad your boy Mack is eating and drinking like he should.

Angela Those pics are down the creek from my house.  I can't get to a place to take pics of my immediate location.  I am in a little creek bottom and the sides aren't near as rough as just down the creek where I stop mowing.  It's wilderness for a long ways.  I love it here.

Wow, ticks are out and about!  I have found 5 trying to make a meal on Chewy and 2 on me.  I am getting antsy and keep checking every little suspicious tickle.  So far only the two.

Laura, you're right, beautiful flowers!

Have a good Monday,

Good afternoon all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. I've been busy with MCRA stuff {e-mails and processing another application} all day. So that's why I'm so late getting here. Need to clean our bathroom but it's already 4:30 so will probably do that tomorrow. Did get my plants watered today. It's 86F here today. Not much else going on, just my usual.

Laura, thank you for the compliment on my flowers. I really enjoy having them. I've got about 15 or so plants that comprise my "garden" which is all in pots.

Teri, good to hear that Mack is eating and drinking well. It's also good that Harry can give him the IV. I love hearing about the baby kittens. They're always so cute as they grow. I will add that kittens need to eat food specified for kittens like Kitten Chow when they begin eating. Glad you talked with your daughter and I hope she gets that job.

Nenon, it's okay that you started that other thread. I haven't gotten there yet but I will. You can start a thread anytime.

Wendy, love the story about the  2 dogs going to a hospital for help. It's great that the people there helped the dogs. That''s th ekind of news I like to read about or see.

Sugar, you're welcome for the mexican heather picture. Yes, I'd say it's hardy. It's made it thru at least 1 or 2 winters {I can't remember exactly when I got it} here though I do wrap it in a sheet when it gets to freezing or below. I water it twice a week and three times a week in the summer when our temps are over 100F. Poor Kenny. Well somebody, somewhere just up and threw him out of his home. Wouldn't be surprised if it was Ray's friend's cat. I'm sure you'll do your best when it comes to your cats and they'll be well taken care of. You're very blessed to live where there is wilderness. Sorry to hear ticks are out. Do you have a flea and tick medicine for Chewy? Did any of the cats get ticks? Ticks on you? I'd be antsy too.

Sandi, loved the good morning flowers!

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day. Have a wonderful week.

Good night all !  I was here for quite a while reading the posts. I had over 100 at my mail box. I am soooo tired and mixed up. I have been filling out all kinds of paper work, and there has not been many days when I have not been bombarded with medicare stuff. They are all sending me stuff to let me know that I am turning 65 soon, and will be on medicare. I had no idea how many programs are involved.

I am meeting someone at a local restaurant to go over the Cigna SP? plan. He is coming from Delaware. He has a house there and also in Ocean county.  Then there is also Bravo. I have no one that seems to understand anything. I already lost the tiny cared that was sent. It is suppose to start on Aug 1st but I will not be 65 until the 11th. My head is spinning.

Donna I know what you mean I'm getting mail, phone cards you name it. I won't be 65 until 12/28 so let me know what you decide as I'll need help then. Good luck!

Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Finished my write-up for my application at MCRA at 10 last night! Didn't get my bathroom cleaned yesterday but I'm not fretting about it. I did get my plants watered then we had a thunderstorm with lots of rain come thru last night. I had to pour excess water off one of my plants this morning. It's 11:40am and already 75F here. Not much going on, just my usual.

Laura, I live in San Antonio, Texas. I have several plants in my "garden" which consists of all potted plants since I can't plant in the ground here. There are some flowers growing in the ground that must've come from seeds from some of mine b'cuz they're the same flowers but I didn't plant them in the ground. Management hasn't said anything about them. I'd love to see a fox squirrel. I'll bet they're adorable.

Teri, congratulations to your daughter! That's great that the older cats are coming out to eat in the main house. Sorry you're so tired. Glad Michelle is enjoying her new laptop.

Donna, sorry you're having problems. Hope you get it figured out.

Sandi, great to see you here.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Darla I like stories such as the one I posted earlier too, the thought of the puppies waiting patiently to be seen ahh, hope you are ok.

Teri glad things are getting a bit easier for you, thinking of you and all the kittens and cats.

Sandi hope you are ok, apart from getting mailshots that is,

Hi Laura your garden sounds lovely, we are working on a wooden gazebo, it is taking ages due to the weather, we have a two seater swing with covers, my youngest cat Buni adores it, he swings himself, none of the others trust it because it moves, but Buni, sits rocking looking down the garden, or lies full length on the cushions snoring , I am going to try to put a photo of him on it on here soon.

Sugar hello hope you are ok ? and all the cats are fine too.

Hello again Danilo, hope you have had time to have a good look around? hope Daisy is ok ?

Angela hope your ok and havent had any flooding, how is your back?

What a day.  It started out okay, a nice walk with Chewy then I had to come home, have lunch and then start mowing.  It was so wet they part I mowed looks terrible.  Clumps of grass.  I only did the easy half.  Tomorrow night I hope to finish.  Then I went to get some sausage out of the freezer in the basement and it was thawed!  Oh my goodness, do I have a mess in there.  It was half full and all is ruined.  I have taken two bags to the dumpster already and bagged the other for drop off on the way to the doctors tomorrow for a blood test for my exam next Monday I hope to make it through the traffic and get there on time.  I hate traffic and every time they build another subdivision around here it gets worse!  Where do they all come from and what happens to the homes they left?  The subdivisions all have cute little names and when you meet some one from there, they say I live at 'cute little name' place and I don't know where it is.  I never heard of it.

Gripe, gripe, gripe.  Thats all I seem able to do.  I did just hear a Bob White!  First one I have heard forever.  And guess what I also did?  I am conditioned to let anyone out that goes to the door and I let Wosie out!  Thank goodness it didn't take me too long to catch her.  She smelled something good in the yard and I nabbed her.

Have a good week, I will try to drop in tomorrow.  I have one thing after another scheduled and mowing.

Good afternoon all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Had another app this morning for MCRA but had to deny her as her apartment complex only allows 2 pets and she already has 2 cats. Shame, her app looked good too. Not much going on here, just my usual.

Danilo, welcome to the group. Great to see you here.

Laura, I read a lot, do stuff on the computer {e-mails, Care2, and jigsaw puzzles mostly}, volunteer for MCRA, and do some crafts. Poor fox squirrels getting chased by birds! YOu'll have to see if you can get a picture of a fox squirrel and post it in our wildlife thread. I'd love to see one.

Wendy, yes, those kinds of stories are the best types of news stories as far as I'm concerned. I saw a story about a dog who was mourning the loss of his friend the beaver that was quite touching. It's a video showing the dog mourning his friend. It happened last year but evidently the story has had a resurgence. Building a wooden gazebo? That sounds very nice. Hope the weather cooperates with you. The two seater swing sounds great and I can just picture Buni swinging in it! Here's the link for the story/video about the dog mourning the beaver if you're {or anyone else} interested.

Sugar, so sorry about your freezer. Do you know what happened to it? That really sucks that all your food was ruined. Oh, you heard a bob white? How cool! Glad you caught Wosie before she got too far. Hope all goes well at the doctor's office.

Penny, great to see you!

Teri, its good to hear that Mack is going strong. Glad things are going great for you and that you had another pain free day. Sounds like the cats are all doing well.

Sandi, great to see you here. Love the picture you posted.

Angie, glad you're having such a great day. Oh, how cute, a little chipmunk! They look like they're adorable little creatures. We don't have them here.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Darla that was lovely and sad about the dog and the beaver, yes the wooden gazebo should be nice eventually, Buni just loves the swing, it was quite a nice day today, all the cats made the most of the weather, it has been really hard to get  them in just now, Mini though is fast asleep , the warm  weather gets to her because she is long haired, but she is such a scratchy cat, she wont let me help her out, by brushing her, so I am taking her to the vet, he will tranquilise her, then cut her hair short, (ish) Mini will be bathed and her skin checked, then finally will be treated for fleas and ticks, de-wormed and have her cat flu jab, that will be Mini sorted for a year. I can managed the others, thank goodness.

Sugar so sorry about your bad luck with the freezer, the mess and the cost is something you could have done without, glad you caught Wosie, you will have your hands full now she has had a taste of outside, I just put a new net curtain in my front window, all the cats have got the "huff" not pleased they cant sit and look out, Buni figured it out, he put his head under the curtain, then sits with it over his back, the others will catch on soon enough. hope you got on ok today ?

Sandi love the card , hope you are ok?

Penny glad to see you back if only briefly, hope your enjoying your stay with your grandchildren , is it June that you are back ?

Teri glad all ok for now, and Mack is getting on ok , so stoical cats are,. hope all the kittens are all ok?

Angela your always busy hope you are looking after your back ?

Hello Danilo , how are you, dont forget to let me know where you are in the UK , hope Daisy isn't too mischievious, Buni is at times very naughty, he tried to climb on my new tv, it is flat screen thin type, the telly rocked, my heart was in my mouth, thank goodness it didn't fall, I am going to ask my husband to get it fixed to the wall a.s.a.p.

well late supper for the cats time, will pop in tomorrow to read all your news , love and hugs x wendy k x, Jimi, Eric, Buni and Mini xx

Sandi,

I talked to the insurance broker/ That is what she said she was. I still have the appointment for Friday morning with Cigna SP? It seems to be narrowed down to Horizon medicare or Cigna Medicare, and I don't know if it is some kind of a hint, but one of the cats knocked my Horizon book off my desk, and the other one pooped on it.

I have never heard so much info that I think I forgot it all. Oh yeah, I am getting stuff left and right. EVEN life insurance ads now. CREEPY STUFF you know!

Not sure how much help I can give you if I learn a lot, as not all insurances are for all the states. I have the choice between 2. I don't even look forward to any trips to the doctors. I will only go to get my prescriptions.  I am going to tell the doctor twice a year is enough, and, I do not need to take my blouse off to have my heart checked, and that is that.

Wendy, You are funny... I don't feel much like popping me clogs yet either .....

Medicare is an old age or disability plan  for health care, and it is too confusing now as other insurances are getting involved, and there is a mix and match, and some cost more than others. Medicare will automaticall take out 104.00 a month for insurance, and it covers 80% of the bill. That is all I know so far.

Sugar,

You had a nice meal there for the vultures. You could have driven away from your house and placed the defosted meat there for them to get to. I always tell people to call me if their freezer breaks down. One person did so far. She brought a trash bag full of food for them, and they had a big party.

I no longer have a freezer. All three of mine went on me. One was a 500 lb chest freezer, and one was a small chest freezer, and the other was a large upright. I woke up to a huge mess at 3 am one time. I didn't have any meat in the big chest freezer, but all that flour and pasta sure did stink.
