Once again it's time to start a new thread. Here's the link to the previous one ~
Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Tigger was back this morning! She was super frisky on the porch then she came up to me without being near the food and sniffed my hand after which she allowed me to give her a good petting! It was 34F on our porch this morning at 5:00. Yes, I checked when I woke up b'cuz I wanted to see if it got to freezing overnight and I'm sure it did. My plants were all wrapped up. Not much going on here, just my usual.
Donna, sorry the stove is cool. That's cool that the cats are sleeping on the heating pad. I remember mine did that back when I had a heating pad. It melted on itself so we threw it away and haven't replaced it since. Sorry you're having trouble sending stars. Hope it clears up soon.
Sandrea, love the picture of the ice skates and kitties!
Sandi, sorry you're also having trouble sending stars. Hope it clears up soon. Will have to look on Amazon for light bulbs if HEB doesn't have any.
Laura, midway on Aaron's chest huh? Yes, I know Great Danes are big dogs. How tall is Aaron, do you know? Glad the rain will be clearing up. Y'all have a good lunch with your dad's former patients. Hope they enjoy their cruise. No, I haven't seen the video. I don't really watch You Tube videos unless someone sends me a link to one. Glad you're enjoying your Christmas movies.
Kay, sorry you're having so much trouble with Care2. Hope it clears up soon. Will see if Ray can go to our nearby Lowe's to look for light bulbs. If we find any we'll have to stock up for BabyFace. We do have the flourescent bulbs in most of our lamps. However, BabyFace needs the heat the regular lightbulbs put out.
Sugar, so you've hoarded light bulbs? I should've had Ray do the same for BabyFace. I just didn't think about it.
Angie, like I told Kay, we have flourescent bulbs in the majority of our lamps and they have been there for awhile. I can't remember exactly how long but it's been a long time ~ at least a year or two if not more. Brrrr, it's so very cold there. How much snow do you have? Sorry to hear about your neighbor getting frostbite in her toes.
Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.
The stove was warm all night as I had 3 small turkeys baking. They were so small that I had to also open a few cans of food. Have you ever seen an 8 lb turkey? They were so skinny. I got some good broth for soup though....
We are waiting for an oil truck to come, but they have to call first for directions. The thing is that the phone quit ringing, so they phone company said the ringing station must be shut down, and they will think about it.
Jimmy gave them his cell phone number, but he has to get out to buy a phone card. He forgot my number. We will see if someone is calling the house if we wait in front of the phone since it does light up.
I like the old bulbs at my desk so that the cats can enjoy laying under it for heat.
evening every1, how are u all doing? well ive been in quite a rangle here lately. Had to have oil delivered, tigris, footless, and kiki all had to have antibiotics for URI. kiki was the worst, he was wheezing and not eating much, and fought giving him meds like a wild tiger. He got more all ove rthe dining room than in him. So took him to the vet tues afternoon & got him the antibiotic shot so he wasnt stressing so bad. plus been giving him lysine to help his immune system.
I have had baby boy on eye drops for pus in his eyes, mainly just 1. the other eye under the eye lid has something i've never seen before. Looks like 3 large grains of sand or something.
Today is so bitter cold, its been highest of 17 today and wind chill of 4. Its supposed to be 0 tonight. My doggys only went out in their pen for about 15 minutes to do thier business and started barking to come back in.
lil pid and trixie have to go for thier 2nd distemper shot so they can come upstairs and get acclimated to the rest of the clan.
hope u all had a great holiday...peace and love to all of u
Darla, I have been worrying about the future of animals who are kept outside with a incandesent (sp?) bulb for heat ever since I knew the future of the good old bulbs. I'm sorry I didn't think about the indoor animals. Go to a Lowe's or some place that might have a inventory of them still. It's okay to sale, just don't order more, when the current inventory is gone, that's it. If worse comes to worse I might be able to send you a few. Let me know. I sure wouldn't want BabyFace to get cold. I don't know if they will make heat bulbs or not in this new tech bulb. I hope the EPA or whoever is responsible for this decision suffers more than any one else!!!!!
Shell, I'm so sorry to hear of your furkids medical problems. When I had Shingles I had little bumps around my eyelids and boy did that hurt. I know he doesn't have shingles, just can sympathize with him. Wishing you and the furkids the best and quick improvement.
Donna I am hoping and praying for this to be a better year for you. I hope nothing else breaks and everyone stays healthy, including you and Jimmy.
I am very aggravated this morning. I hate computers. I spent all of Mouse's time and too much of my own time trying to get an address change to my county seat for my tax bill. My end of the driveway mailbox is gone. They only mail I get there is ads and etc. plus my real estate bill and it will be mailed from their office on the 10th of this month. Oh well, I will just have the post office to hold it for me.
It's 9:30 and I have been working on that durn computer site for over an hour.
Take care, I'm ready to fix breakfast!!!!
Cold, cold, cold is the forecast. Monday it won't get above -0- and another few inches of snow tomorrow on top of the 7 I already have. Little Joe is staying in but that little Tiger is still trying to get out. I wish he would stop.
Darla it looks like Tigger is coming right along. How old do you think she is? Give her lots of loving. And food! And fresh water! What else is there?
Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Tigger was playing on the porch again this morning and she followed me around some while I was giving her food and water and watering my roses. No petting was allowed this morning though. That's okay, I realize that it's a day by day process to get her to trust me. It was 40F on my porch this morning at 6:15 when I went outside. Not much else going on here, just my usual.
Donna, glad the stove was warm. Nope, have never seen an 8 lb turkey! Boy, is that small! Sorry y'all are having problems with your phone. Hope something works out so y'all can get your oil. We have one old bulb in the computer desk lamp b'cuz the fluorescent bulb burned out. Shasta likes laying underneath it.
Shell, so sorry to hear about your kitties' health problems. Hope they all get better soon. Brrrr, it's really cold there. I don't blame your dogs for only staying out 15 minutes. I wouldn't make it that long!
Sugar, I'm having Ray check HEB when he goes today. We've got a nearby Lowes to check if HEB doesn't have them. That's so sweet you offering to send me a few. I'll definitely let you know. I don't want BabyFace to get cold either. Yes, it'd be nice if the people responsible for this decision suffered more than the ones affected by the decision. Sorry you were having trouble with that website. Brrrr is it cold there! You've already got 7 inches of snow and are expecting more? So Little Joe's staying in huh? That's good. Sorry Tiger's still trying to get out. I believe Tigger's between 6 and 8 months old. She's just a little thing. Shee has the potential of being a real sweetheart.
Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.
Yesterday, on January 3, my British shorthair cat Lazy Panther Nostalgy Bubastis (Lila) turned 15 years. She got extra helping of her favourite wet food Sheba.
I had a glass of home-made vine that I got during my May trip to the Daffodills Valley(Transcarpathian area).
Lila is in a very good shape for her age. I got her as a retired purebred 10 years ago. Her offsprings are living all over Europe. Lila travelled with me to USA in 2005 and returned back to Kiev with me in 2009. Now she is sharing with me my apartment and once in a while she is busy with teaching cats that are staying with me during their post-surgery recovery.
My Friend's dog Puppins who you have met at the parties is dying he is 15 years old, has not ate in 3 days and peeing blood, prayers are needed. Thank you.
Hello all , Darla & sugar, ordinary lightbulbs were stopped here a couple of years ago, know what> we can still get them, I will search the info and let you know , where you can get them,.
Donna 8lb Turkey, is just a big chicken!!! he he , wonder the cats are not eyeing your vultures, ?! only kidding honest !!!
Hello Elena, glad you had a lovely day with, Lila, and that she is helping other cats wonderful,
Sandi what sad news, poor Puppins, did they try Donna's suggestion for this to help him >>>># 11 Nat Sulph 6X 500 Tab - Victoria's Health
Good afternoon everyone here at Chit Chat, just got finish typing a long message, I hit send and got a message I am not connected to the internet, what else can go wrong. I had to call my sister over, because I run off her ...she is the administrator of the connection She got me re connected so I am going to make this one short. still having problems with getting email for each posting on each group I belong to. so It takes hours longer to search what has been posted daily here. And oh Sandy I am so sorry to hear about Puppins, Coco is going to be crushed she likes that puppy. He dresses up in costumes like her, and they get to talk when he comes to the parties. I do not know if I should tell her how sick he is, but she will be at the B/D party on the 10th and all of the fur buddies are going to know about it. I think I will wait a few days to see if he improves. I definitely will put him on the top of my prayer list, and his Mommy also. after 15 years that is going to be a terrible loss. Please tell his Mommy that COCO and NANNI send our love, prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery. I do believe in Miracles even at 15 years old. Sincerely Kay M.
Poor Puppins! Might be kindney or/and bladder troubles. Still there is a hope for getting better. Christmas (our, Orthodox will be on January 7th) and a New Year is a time for miracles, let's hope for one!

Yes, Darla. I'm not sure. He is sitting down in most of the pictures, so it's hard to tell. We had a great day today. Mom and Dad had a great tennis lesson. I sat in the pro shop since it was still chilly and talked to Becca, the young lady that works there, until she left to go to one of her classes at CF. The Ridelhoover's didn't arrive in time for lunch, so we didn't get to see them, which was a little disappointing, but we still had fun. We went out to Mimi's Cafe and I had one of their new burgers, and then we went over to Barnes and Noble and got a few things.
Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Tigger was not here this morning. Hopefully she'll show up later today and tomorrow morning. Ray finally said I could spend some money on him so I got him an additional belated Christmas present. I already got him a pot holder set that is black with paw prints all over it. Now I've ordered a t-shirt with an image of a tuxedo cat cat on it. It reads "Real Mean Love Cats!"! It's perfect for him! I woke up a couple times in the night in pain. Had to get up and move at about 2:30am. Not much going on here, just my usual.
Elena, a belated Happy Birthday to Lila. Sounds like y'all had a great day. Glad to hear she's in such good shape for her age.
Sandi, sorry to hear about Puppins. He's in my thoughts and prayers.
Wendy, glad y'all can still get those bulbs. HEB only had 40 watt bulbs so Ray didn't get any. We need at least 75 watt and 100 watt would be even better. Love the "procatstination" picture. Sorrry the Kelly cats were being nuisances.
Kay, sorry you lost a message due to not being connected. Glad you got it figured out. Sorry, too, that you're not getting your digests. I always ignore my digests and just come to group to read new messages.
Laura, okay. I was just curious. Sorry the Ridelhoover's didn't make it but glad y'all still had fun. I know you enjoy going to Barnes and Noble. Hope your burger was delicious.
Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.
I sure did, Darla. It sure was. I had a surprise waiting for me this morning. Italy Girl foaled three days ago. She wasn't due to have the foal until the 15th, but I don't think it wanted to wait that long. Because of all the rain we've been having, the foal hasn't been out yet, but he finally got to go out after the rain stopped. He looks great. He is black with a big white blaze on his forehead and one little white sock. He is getting around well and nursing great and is a bit steadier on his legs now. I got some great pictures of him this morning and this afternoon as well. I can't pet him yet because he's still so small, but he'll get into his growth soon enough. I gave Italy Girl a kiss on the nose for a job well done.
o'boy is cold outside this morning here in wisconsin. So Harry,Michelle amd I decdie to not go this afternoon with the weather this cold ,with our health as bad as it is at this time.So we will make I new appointment when she call's us back.Michlle needs to go start the van and heatit up good.it turn over last night for her.now if we can find my keys we be ok.I think I will go back to bed for same time since i been up since 4am.paying on the last of the bill's for this month.I hope that your weather is alot warmer than my is.God bless
Please, someone, send some of your extra snow to Kiev! It's Christmas Eve here (Russian Orthodox) and all we have right now- high humidity, fogs, small rain and +5C! It's typical weather conditions for November, but miserable for New Year and Christmas. At my childhood times we would go outside on the New Year night to play snowballs and have other fun in snow. I want to have snow in winter, not at the end of March! It should be gone by then...
Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. It was 32 on our porch at 6:00 this morning. I wasn't expecting a freeze so my plants weren't wrapped. I hope they'll be okay. Tomorrow's supposed to worse than today so I went ahead and watered and wrapped my plants this morning. Black Beauty and Tigger were both here this morning! Tigger played on the porch and followed me around but wouldn't allow any petting to be done. I think I'm getting sick. I've got a tickle in my throat and my chest and I'm coughing. Took some of Ray's Mucinex DM for the cough. Not much going on here, just my usual.
Laura, what a fabulous surprise! No, I guess the foal didn't want to wait. Glad he's doing well. He sounds beautiful. Can you post pictures? If so, post one or two of him so we can see. What are they going to name him?
Teri, sorry it's so cold. I'm sorry but where were you supposed to go? Did you reschedule? Yes, with bad health it's probably best if you don't go out in the cold. Did you get moved into your new home yet?
Take care and have a fantastic day.
Hello everybody, I am starting to think that holidays are not really holidays as I have been so busy. I hope everyone is having a good start to the New year. I am trying to catch up reading all the posts and there sure is a lot going on. We are so terribly cold here tomorrow it is supposed to feel like -40 C with the wind chill and then yesterday and today we got another foot of snow. Geesh, you get it all cleaned up and then it starts again. I feel so sorry for animals that are outside.
Donna, am I hearing right that you have no heat in your house?? That is terrible, has the oil truck come yet?
Sugar, you are having lots of snow and cold too. I hope that it stops soon for you too. I don't blame Little Joe for staying inside, is Black and White still coming around? Sorry that Tiger is still trying to get out, is he pawing at the door?
Darla, I hope that you feel better soon, it seems like everybody is getting sick. I hope your pain appointment goes well. I hope you can findthe bulbs you need for BabyFace, I buy my heat lamps for the tortoises and the frog at the pet store. All the ones in my house in the light fixtures are the new flourescent ones. I don't think they can stop selling the incandescent ones in the pet store as everybody's reptiles would get cold. I could always send you some if you can't find them.
Sandi, sorry to hear about Puppins being sick, do they know what is wrong? I will keep him in my prayers that he gets well.
Elena, I am sure some of us would love to send some snow to you, I have enough here. Happy Christmas Eve to you and hopefully you will get some snow to celebrate it. Happy belated birthday to Lila, glad she is doing so well at her age.
Teri, sorry it's so cold for you too. Any news yet about when you will be moving into the new house??
Laura, the foal sounds so sweet. We would love to see the pictures, hopefully he keeps getting stronger everyday.
Wendy, I love the "procatstination" picture, it is so true. Teddy loves to lay on the keyboard when I am typing.
Shell, sorry to hear that many of your cats are sick, I hope they all make a speedy recovery. How is the packing going? Is Pooka all healed now?
Hello Kay, I hope you are doing well and give Coco a hug for me.
Hi Angela, Hope you are doing well too. I hope you are doing ok with the snow, I know you must have a lot there too.
Hello to Penny and Betty.
Well, I must go now back to work. I hope I didn't forget anyone but if I did hello to you too. Hope to chat again later.
Morning everyone hope everyone is safe and warm, its-14 here, lot of snow drifts due to high winds. Puppins is slowing getting worse. keep prayers coming. he is 15.
The oil truck got here Saturday. We got 80 gallons of oil. The heating ducts here are no good now, thanks to the duct wrecking crew under the house ! So, He took the front off the heater, and it heats the utility room and kitchen pretty good, but not the rest of the house.
I am comfortable with 60 in here. It is 40 outside right now, but my blood must be thickened for the winter, so that is warm for me. I had to take my coat off yesterday when we went to the store. It is a long brown wooly coat with a hood. Too warm in a store, and it was too warm outside too.
There are always cats under my drop light here at the desk, and 3 cats on one little heating pad on the side of my desk that pulls out.
Went cat food shopping yesterday, and the day before. We have to do it in 2 days now since the shocks on the car are no good. We had a bad time last month driving home. The back was hitting the ground with the trailer hitch that is welded on to it.
Bubba stole my bed.. Actually, he does like to sleep on the couch sometimes. He is a wonderful house cat. I wish we would have known this a couple of years ago.... He hissed at me so much while I was feeding him outside I thought he would choke to death... I was sure he hated me, OR hated my looks. He never hissed at Jimmy.... Maybe it is as that song goes, you only hiss at the one you love, the one you shouldn't hiss at at all. Hmmm
Or as the song goes, Give me a little hiss, will you hon, it's been a long long time..... hehe
I think I mentioned that PAAD covers 36.00 out of the insurance premium. Wrongamoondo.... That is what it covers to help with the meds per month. There is NO help for the insurance premium.... I have to get over the shock and accept it.
I forgot to mention something very interesting about onions.
In 1919 when the flu killed 40 million people there was this Doctor that visited the many farmers to see if he could help them combat the flu...
Many of the farmers and their families had contracted it and many died.
The doctor came upon one farm and to his surprise, everyone was very healthy. When the doctor asked what the farmer was doing that was different the wife replied that she had placed an unpeeled onion in a dish in the rooms of the home, (probably only two rooms back then). The doctor couldn't believe it and asked if he could have one of the onions and place it under the microscope. She gave him one and when he did this, he did find the flu virus in the onion. It seemingly absorbed the bacteria, therefore, keeping the family healthy.
Now, I heard this story from my hairdresser. She said that several years ago, many of her employees were coming down with the flu, and so were many of her customers. The next year she placed several bowls with onions around in her shop. To her surprise, none of her staff got sick. It must work. Try it and see what happens. We did it last year and we never got the flu.
Now there is a PS to this. I sent it to a friend in Oregon who regularly contributes material to me on health issues. She replied with this most interesting experience about onions:
Thanks for the reminder. I don't know about the farmer's story...but, I do know that I contacted pneumonia, and, needless to say, I was very ill... I came across an article that said to cut both ends off an onion put it into an empty jar, and place the jar next to the sick patient at night. It said the onion would be black in the morning from the germs...sure enough it happened just like that...the onion was a mess and I began to feel better.
Another thing I read in the article was that onions and garlic placed around the room saved many from the black plague years ago. They have powerful antibacterial, antiseptic properties.
This is the other note. Lots of times when we have stomach problems we don't know what to blame. Maybe it's the onions that are to blame. Onions absorb bacteria is the reason they are so good at preventing us from getting colds and flu and is the very reason we shouldn't eat an onion that has been sitting for a time after it has been cut open.
LEFT OVER ONIONS ARE POISONOUS
I had the wonderful privilege of touring Mullins Food Products, Makers of mayonnaise. Questions about food poisoning came up, and I wanted to share what I learned from a chemist.
Ed, who was our tour guide, is a food chemistry whiz. During the tour, someone asked if we really needed to worry about mayonnaise. People are always worried that mayonnaise will spoil. Ed's answer will surprise you. Ed said that all commercially-made Mayo is completely safe.
"It doesn't even have to be refrigerated. No harm in refrigerating it, but it's not really necessary." He explained that the pH in mayonnaise is set at a point that bacteria could not survive in that environment. He then talked about the summer picnic, with the bowl of potato salad sitting on the table, and how everyone blames the mayonnaise when someone gets sick.
Ed says that, when food poisoning is reported, the first thing the officials look for is when the 'victim' last ate ONIONS and where those onions came from (in the potato salad?). Ed says it's not the mayonnaise (as long as it's not homemade Mayo) that spoils in the outdoors. It's probably the ONIONS, and if not the onions, it's the POTATOES.
He explained onions are a huge magnet for bacteria, especially uncooked onions. You should never plan to keep a portion of a sliced onion.. He says it's not even safe if you put it in a zip-lock bag and put it in your refrigerator.
It's already contaminated enough just by being cut open and out for a bit, that it can be a danger to you (and doubly watch out for those onions you put in your hotdogs at the baseball park!). Ed says if you take the leftover onion and cook it like crazy you'll probably be okay, but if you slice that leftover onion and put on your sandwich, you're asking for trouble. Both the onions and the moist potato in a potato salad, will attract and grow bacteria faster than any commercial mayonnaise will even begin to break down.
Also, dogs should never eat onions. Their stomachs cannot metabolize onions.
Please remember it is dangerous to cut an onion and try to use it to cook the next day, it becomes highly poisonous for even a single night and creates toxic bacteria which may cause adverse stomach infections because of excess bile secretions and even food poisoning.
thank you for your story on the onion it will help me a lot.
Puppins has gone to the rainbow bridge. RIp Puppins 1/06/2014
So sorry to hear about Puppins. Another precious furbaby now at the Rainbow Bridge.
RIP Puppins. So sorry to hear this Sandi,he lived a long happy life for a puppy, and thankfully your friend has many happy memories of him to remember.

Night all, thinking of Puppins, Teri and Penny, great news, about your cancer, the power of prayer and positivity amazing xxxxx wendy k x kelly cats xxxxxxxxx
Penny, your daughters new kitty is beautiful! I have a new pic of Tiger, the latest kitty I've adopted. He has settled in right well. He and Little Joe are sleeping the cold away in the basement right now. I just got Tiger in before the really cold and snow arrived. He has made himself right at home. That dumb Black and White left during the night during his horrible cold. I'm just hoping he doesn't come back with frost bit ears or toes!
He's quite the chow hound too! He knows the sound of a can being opened and the refrigerator being opened too! If he sees me walking with a plate he thinks tht is food for him too. My kitty dishes are mostly dishes I pick up at Goodwill for them. He can't tell the difference from mine.
Hi Michela, Betty and Wendy. Just curious, was care2 down yesterday morning? I couldn't get to any page but the first. And that reminds me, does any one know how to delete a photo out of photo bucket? I have looked and looked and can't seem to find a delete for a picture. I'll keep looking.
Darla I was serious about the light bulbs. Just let me know. If you need to phone, check with Donna. She has my number. That Tiger comes into the bedroom every night for just a few minutes. I am beginning to think he just wants me to get up and feed him something special! He is a chow hound just like Chewy. Just what makes a cat so special? And dogs! I can't wait until you can pick little Tigger up. OOps, I just about knocked mom's coffee over!
Donna, wow, that is some news about onions! I know dogs can't tolerate onions but I sure didn't know the rest of that news. I have an onion right now in a baggie in the frige that I have cut open! I must have a cast iron stomach cause I haven't noticed any upset stomach yet, but I will definitely buy smaller onions now and throw away any left over ones.
Sandi I am so sorry to hear about Puppins. Hugs and sympathy to Karen. He is the first of our group to go over the Rainbow Bridge and I hope no one else goes for a loooong time. Kenny is doing pretty good all things considered. I've seen him go to dry food a couple of times now and eat a bite or two. I am still taking food to him 6 or 7 times to make sure he gets enough.
Everyone, I know I haven't personally said hello to all, but hello to everyone! I have to make some pancakes for me and the birds. I always share with them. I put the cardinals some peanut butter on their feeder this morning. I hope the black birds let them have some.
Keep warm everyone, we have about 24 hours more of this bitter cold. Then temps will return to normal for this time of the year. Sally do you want to trade houses for the winter? Or Darla? Or Kay? It might be chilly there, but not bone crushing cold like here. Donna I hope this doesn't come your way.
LOVE the new picture of Tiger! He looks sooo much like my Ginger!
love the picture of tiger he's a beauty. will tell Karen everyone is thinking about her.
In loving memory. 1/06/2014
Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. I have a doctor's appointment with Dr Bacon, my pain management doctor this afternoon. The cab will be here at noon. There were no cats here this morning. It was only 28F on our porch when I went out at 6:00 this morning! That's not as cold as some of y'all are getting but it's darn cold for us. We're just not used to it. Not much else going on here, just my usual.
Won't be able to respond to everyone today. Do want to say that I'm sorry to hear Puppins went over the Rainbow Bridge. Sandi, please tell Karen she has my condolences. I'm sure she has many happy memories of Puppins to get her thru this sad time. Michela, thank so much for the offer of light bulbs for BabyFace. That is truly appreciated and means a lot to me. I'll let you know if I need one. Sugar, your offer of light bulbs too is greatly appreciated and means a lot to me. I'll let you know if I need bulbs. Love the picture of Tiger. Of course, he wants to get up and feed him! Isn't that what we're here for? Donna, glad the oil truck got there. Thanks for all the info on the onion. Penny, thanks for the well wishes. I get trigger points today so that should take care of any pain. Your daughter's new kitty is beautiful. Yes, I also think th et-shirt is awesome. I hope Ray likes it as much as I do. Teri, Betty, and Wendy, great to see y'all here.
Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.
Good afternoon To all the fur buddies, friends, Mommies, and Aunts, (COCO;S NANNI ) here, I am sorry we could not get by yesterday, besides computer not working all the time. My sister and I were busy getting the house and the pipes ready for the hard freeze last night, So I did not see the posting about PUPPINS passing away till this morning. I do not know why, but it really hit me hard, the fact that MISS KAREN, lost her precious puppy that she had for so long....my goodness 15 years, that is equal to 105 in human years. She must be distraught ...Please tell her how sorry COCO and I are at her loss, I had to tell Coco this morning, she woke up and I was crying when I read it on the Mouse Thread, So I picked her up and showed her his picture and explained that he was very ill and that the white coats could not help him to get better anymore, So he went to the Rainbow Bridge and crossed over to wait for all of his friends to join him again, ( I also told her it would be a long time before she saw him again,) Because I wanted her to stick around here with me for a long time, I would ask all the mommies and aunts to give each and every fur buddy and friend an extra head rub or chin scratch from Coco and Nanni just for good measure tonight, I will keep Karen in my prayers during this extremely sad time for her, and her family. I do not know with all this bad weather ( are you all still having the Birthday Party on Friday)? If not I know Coco will understand. I need to close for now, will visit other threads and see what is going on, and I will give out more green stars, Sincerely COCO'S Nanni ( aka Kay M.)
Hi, all. We had our frost last night and lost a lot of our turnip and mustard greens. It was 20 something degrees when I woke up and was up in the 30's after my nap. It was way too cold for me to walk today, so I didn't get to see my little buddy today, but I'll see him once it warms up. I talked to Grandma Saxon on the phone this morning and she is doing great. Her hematoma is just about healed. I had a nap after lunch today. I added three more parts to my story. The first part was me asking Legolas where is girlfriend, Crysanthemum, was and he told me that they had broken up a few days before he and Tauriel came to China because Crysanthemum was interested in another elf who had just joined the Princeton C.S.I. team and Legolas was a mess for a few days afterwards, but pulled himself together and I was sorry about his break up with Crysanthemum because I really liked her. The second part was me getting ready to lance Kili's leg and I was all set to do it and had the knife in my hand and I just couldn't bring myself to do it and put the knife down on the table and retreated to the other side of the kitchen and Kili was getting impatient and wanted to have it finished and Oin told him that I needed a moment and he asked me if he needed to do it and I told him that I could do it and I had Bofur, Oin, Dawson, Fili and Thorin hold Kili still so he wouldn't thrash around and give me a hard time while I worked and I cut into his leg and he started screaming and that almost broke my heart and I almost stopped then and there, but I kept going and got all the nasty infection stuff out of his leg and stitched it up and put some bandages on his leg and put the kingsfoil in the bandages to help speed up the draining and Kili was put to bed and then Fili came into the living room and Oin and Bofur were sitting with me and comforting me because I had been feeling bad about what I had just had to do to Kili and Fili said that what I had done was for a good cause and that he trusted me to do what was best for Kili and the rest of the team and that affirmation of his trust in me made me feel really good and we hugged and Thorin came in and said that Kili had come to for a few minutes and he had drunk some water and his fever had broken and he had been sponged off and he was asleep again. The last part I did was when Kili had one of his awake moments and I asked him how he was feeling and he said that he was still feeling a little weak, but was on the road to recovery, and asked me how I was doing because Oin had told him that I had gotten a little upset about what I had done to him earlier and I told him that I was back to normal now and his screaming had just about unhinged me and Kili told me not to fret myself over it and it had been a good thing that I had lanced his leg and that he felt much better and I was still feeling a little upset and started crying, which was unusual for me because I don't cry, and Kili hugged me and let me get it out of my system.
good night everyonre.haveing a greatday.God bless.
Hi Teri, so glad you are having a great day. God Bless and keep you.
Laura, have a good day and hope it warms up a little for you! Sorry about the greens.
Hi Kay. It is a very sad thing to lose one of our friends. I feel like I knew him and will miss seeing him and hearing about him. I know Coco does too.
Darla, that Tiger is a character! Chewy taught him to be a chow hound and Wosie has taught him to drink from the water faucets and Punkin has taught him to come in the bedroom around 4:00 to get me up to give him canned food! There is dry food out 24 seven but he wants his canned food!
Poor little Chewy just came in and even though we are in the double digits for the first time in 2 or maybe even 3 days, he was lifting up one foot and then the other because it is so cold at the door while waiting to get my attention to open it! He knocks on the door. He taught Mouse to do that too! I guess Tiger will do it soon. He always wants out, but I won't let him until at least mid-March. Depending on the weather.
Hi Betty. Ginger is a gorgeous kitty. And Tiger is also. Tiger does seem to have extra large eyes still, like a kitten. Does Ginger?
Hi Sandi, how are the water pipes. I guess still frozen. It is only to reach mid-twenties today but the next few days should thaw things out. I guess you can get out by now in case you need more bottled water. So far I don't think I have a water line problem but with a few more of those horrible temps, any thing would be possible.
Take care everyone.
