Hello Caroline,

I'm new to this group as well, but NOT new to the world of being a feline's friend.  At the moment only got one (ex-stray), but as she's about 14yo now (arrived at less than a year) I don't see her being inclined to let another moggy into HER roost.  ;-D

I'm sure you'll get, and give something everyone should hope for.

Hi Gail,

to our cat lovers group. Most cats are NOT inclined at first, but then in a short period of time they sometimes appreciate the company. Especially if it is a young playful kitten.... Once the kitten knows who the boss is, they are all happy.

I never went out to a shelter to get another cat as since I had food out for some critter, it tended to draw homeless kitties, and if the poor thing needed a home, my house cats had to work it out somehow.... Sometimes it was easy, and other times if the stray hissed and hid and ran, it was hard.

Nice to know you have a ex stray like me. I must say love my cat to bits. He is so soppy. Hes busy sleeping on the bed already. Think hes tired after all his food and cat treats. Which he likes every night. Not the first cat i have had. But the first my children have had. Hes loves playing with them. Hes about 7 months old now he came to us in September. Like you don't think he would like another cat around.he likes to rule the roost.lol. Thanks for your lovely message.

Meant to say end up with a few stray cats in the garden as i put food out for the animals. That's how i met Tiny our cat. As he came often to feed with his Mum and her other kittens. I had forgot to put food out. So went out to get the bowls. Left the door open as i was going back out once i had sorted the food. The next thing he was in my kitchen and the rest they say is history. Lol. Not seen his mum and the other kittens for a while. So hoping they have all found homes to. As i know my children would have loved all of them. Me i am happy with one cat at the moment.

Hello Carolyn and Gail.  Welcome and please enjoy our group as much as I do.  I have 6 strays I've adopted, from relatively young to Kenny who is at least 17.  I've adopted all but one from my yard.  They just show up out of nowhere.  Wosie came as a stray from my vet's office.  I also have a stray tom, Black and White who had to have been feral, real feral! that I provide with food and shelter.  He has started his fifth year of making this his home base.  He is a little dangerous and I am very careful around him.  I've tried to trap him to get him neutered, but gave up and told him he can live his life as he wants.  I can touch his head now and a couple of time I have run hand down his back and up his tail, but I have to be ready to move quickly!  If I ever can manage it, he will be neutered.

Welcome!

Well my family has four cats total.

My cat is Ariel. We got her in 1996. We were trick or treating. She is the Queen. The vet calls her the Arnold Scquanter (Terminator guy, I probably butchered that) kitty. He says she has the body of an eight year old cat. She's a fluffy calico.

Cuddles is everyone's cat.  He's very shy. He's a black tiger striped cat with beautiful green eyes. He likes to lick glasses for some reason. He purrs really loudly and he's a big scaredy cat. He gets bullied by Ariel. He's a little piggy.

Buddy is my dad's cat. I don't know what he thinks he is, but it isn't a cat. Buddy will kill anything. He'll go after birds, mice, voles, chipmunks, bunnies, and even got a snake once. I didn't realize how many small mammals we had in our neighborhood till we got him. He has seven toes on both front paws. My dad calls him Budzilla.

That's great to hear about all your kitties Ashley. They all sound great. That's great that Ariel is doing so well for her age.

I have 4 furkids myself Teddy who is 18, Maggie who is 13, Roxy is 3 and Alan is 2. Alan is also a big wuss and is scared of almost everything but is a very sweet kitty with tons of personality literally because he weighs 25 pounds. If you have pictures of yours we would love to see them.

Sorry, I don't have pictures on the comp. 25 pounds is one big house cat. That's like Maine Coon size. Feel free to check out my profile. I just started a couple petitions and I"ll send you a friend request now.

CAT LOVERS NEW MEMBER THREAD

Good Evening Everyone; Donna, Michela, Wendy, Sally, Betty, Darla, Kriti O, Sugar, Penny, Elena, and WELCOME TO THE THREE NEW MEMBERS Gail C, Ashley, and Carolijne. As an introduction to the new members, my name is Kay M. I go by different names on the different threads in The Cat Lovers Group. I go by either Kay M. or COCO's Nanni, I do not own a cat, but I do love them and I use a Christmas kitten as my avatar. I am the proud God Mother to a precious female mini Dachshund puppy, named COCO CHANEL about 2 or 3 years old. My sister and I adopted her on February 13th, 2012. We think she was about 6 to 9 months old when she was rescued from a puppy mill in Tylertown Mississippi. She spends her days with me while My sister and her husband are at work,. She comes over at 6 AM and stays till 10PM at night. She sleeps at my sister's house at night. I will close for now, because Coco is getting ready to go on her Birthday Trip to Kona's Party, Sincerely Kay M. ( COCO's NANNI )

Hi Ashley,

to our cat lovers group.  I am the Missing in action Host with a host of computer problems. I am finally able to do something, but I am missing a lot of stuff at the moment, such as SOUND, My keyboard quit working too, and I have an inferior one now, that I HAD TO PEN IN THE NUMBERS.

Your kitty that does not know quite what he is acting like is very simply answered. He is acting like a cat.... Cats are carnivores and very efficient hunters. Just tonight, mine captured some lasagna... hehehe  Must be nice getting waited on. I do have many of them that like perdue chicken drumsticks RAW...... When they get close to chewing the bones I try to catch them in time and throw the bones to the vultures. They get along with the cats out back and the one rooster. The rooster likes my cat Geezer. They are friends.

Time for me to eat something.
