Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Neither Black Beauty nor Tigger was outside this morning. Of course, I was almost 30 minutes late b'cuz I was so into my book. I put food/water out any of course. It was in the upper 40's  this morning when I went outside at just shy of 7:00 and is supposed to get up to 67 today. Not much going on here, just my usual.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shell, that's cool that Ashes is part Scottich Fold. Sounds like y'all have made a lot of progress with her. I'm glad y'all decided to adopt her. So, she's  only your second "foster failure"? That's good. You're doing a lot of good by fostering. Will you foster when you get to your new home?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Gail, have never heard the term moggies. I believe I like it. I have one Russian Blue mix, one Maine Coon mix, and 3 moggies. I love them all unconditionally.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ashley, great to see you here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Elena, love the picture. Love full moons too.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Michela, yes, I'm hoping that my neighbor decides to make Tigger a permanent member of her family. No, she doesn't let her other cats out. She does feed the outside cats with me. I put food out in the early mornings {usually around 6:30} and she does the food in the afternoons. Between the two of us the cats don't go hungry.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Val, wow, a heat wave. Glad y'all are at the end of it. It's great that y'all are taking care of the outside animals like that. Sounds like Maitland is doing well. Love the picture of your garden path.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Laura, glad you got your birthday movie early. Sounds like you really enjoyed it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Wendy, so Mini got away huh? Did you ever get her to the vet or are y'all still working on it? Yes, BabyFace was nice and clean. He messed in his habitat within hours of my cleaning it! I haven't been able to tell for sure but have been calling Tigger a she. Yes, it was strange that she was outside yesterday. Am really hoping that my neighbor decides to keep her. Thanks for the video and the lovely picture.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.
Thank you Wendy, you are so sweet to post this for me.
Morning everyone another chilly day here its 12 out but the wind chill says-4. Stripes is driving me nuts as she tears through the house. Thanks wendy for the video as I went to bed earlier that night.
3 years ago
Getting colder here by the minute Sandi.  It started out around 31 this morning and it is already below 20.  We're snow covered again too!  Keep warm!  Every one but Kenny is driving me nuts, playing and reaching on my leg when I'm not looking with claws out.  They are just playing,
Hi Wendy, Darla, Donna, I can't type for cats!
Hi, Darla. We had a big frost here today and it froze our water pipes, but the water soon came back on. Yes, I have been enjoying it. Another of my favorite parts was when Thorin and the rest of the company are in Rivendell, resting, and they are having dinner after they have gotten settled in and Kili is checking out the elf maids who are serving them dinner and he says "I can't say I fancy Elf maids myself. Too thin. They're all high cheek bones and creamy skin, not enough facial hair for me. Although, that one there is not bad." and he was looking at a male elf when he said it and Dwalin said "that's no elf maid." and they laughed at him and he was a bit sulky at first, but that didn't last long. Italy Girl and her foal are doing well. The foal was eating grass the lazy way today, lying down and eating it. Nothing much else going on today. I am still working on my story. Kili is back on his feet and back up to his full strength and we have just finished attending the wedding of one of the lads who works at the Baojoi M.I.6. field office, and this was our first major social outing since coming out of mourning for Gandalf, and we left the wedding reception early so Kili could go to sleep since he hasn't been back up to his full strength for that long, and we are now in Hong Kong and we will be staying with Wesley and his new wife.
3 years ago
Val your garden path is so beautiful!  Just like a fairy land!  Do you ever take Maitland for a walk?  I used to just walk Honey Bar.  She loved it.  I'm so glad your weather is a little cooler.  Enjoy and give Maitland another scratch behind his ears this time.  Does he like to be combed and brushed?  I used to wipe Honey Bar down with a bucket of water with Absorbene Jr. in it.  It made her smell so good if  you like to smell absorbene Jr and I did.  I think she really enjoyed that too.  This year I plan on taking care of my 3 small flower beds much better.  I have neglected them since Ray was so sick and the last 3 years I just couldn't get it together.  This year, that's my solo resolution.  Take care of yourself so you can take care of everyone else!
Good night everyone, I'm headed to bed.  Everyone is inside and asleep, so now I can relax and watch a little TV in bed.
3 years ago
Darla: yes i will foster again after the move but not right away so my critters have the chance to settle in and feel home. So i thought of maybe volunteer at the shelter instead for awhile. Ive seen calming collars for kittys in pet store. They have lavender and chamomile in them. Going to get them for the high stress cats, but maybe i should get for all. Does any1 know if they work?
3 years ago
Good morning all.  It is cold again.  And snowy.  We are supposed to get another 2 to 3 inches on top of the 3 to 4 we already have.  Oh well, I don't need to go anywhere.
Mouse stayed in on the computer this morning instead of helping me do the feeding.  Little devil.  I had to do it all by myself.
I have to say I think Tiger is a little slow.  He always wants a drink from the faucet like Wosie does except he does it a little differently!  He sticks his head under the faucet and lets the water run down off his head.  I keep trying to show him the right way, but I give up.  Wosie just sits and laughs her head off!
Little Joe is in.  He stayed out a little longer than I thought he would.  He came in with me after I fed everyone outside.  Black and White is still gone, I hope he is okay.
Shell I'm scared to death of collars on cats.  I can't help it.  There are plugins that work just the same as a collar would.  I almost went that route with Mouse and Little Joe.  I know why Little Joe wants to slap Mouse silly, Mouse aggravates him.  I didn't realize this until just lately.  Stripes you have to have a talk with Mouse and set him straight about Little Joe.  Mouse weighs about the same if not a little more, but Little Joe is tougher and more street wise.  Speaking of chamomile I haven't had that tea for a long time and I love it.  Next store trip!
Well time for breakfast for me, I take care of everyone else first.
Oh Chewy is whinning, there is a black lab male and a little poodle who roam the neighborhood a lot and are here right now.  If I didn't have Chewy, I would just plumb adopt the two of them.  Their owner doesn't take care of them other than to feed them.  Recently I left home and there is a hill just up from my driveway and when I reached the top, there were those two dogs.  If I didn't watch for wildlife I might have hurt them which would have hurt me terribly too.
Have a good day everyone!
My twp is having a free rabies clinic this morning, im taking a bunch of the kittys to get their updated ones.  Especially since i read in the paper of where im moving to has been having a problem with rabies. They even had a black beat with rabies about 2 yrs ago, can't imagine how dangerous that was. Its killed a woman so they hunted it, when they found it, it was behaving odd.
Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. It was 40 on my porch at 6:30 this morning with a high expected of 73. Just a typical south, central Texas winter. Had no cats on my porch this morning. Am hurting more than usual this morning. It's got me very uncomfortable and it's difficult to sit still so I'll be quick. Not much going on here, just my usual.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Wendy, thanks again for the video and picture.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Donna, great to see you here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sandi, brrr that's very cold. Do you have snow too? So, the weather has Stripes all frisky does it? Cool weather does that to my cats as well.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sugar, brrr you're very cold too and you have quite a bit of snow. Maybe Tiger likes the water on his head. Like his namesake! Have heard you mention those dogs before. Aren't they the ones who chase your deer? Glad you didn't hurt them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Laura, well, y'all certainly got cold if your pipes froze. Glad your water's back. I'll bet that was cute, the foal lying down and eating grass. Nice story.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shell, yes, it'd be good to let everyone get settled before fostering. Volunteering at the shelter is a good way to get to know the animals first though. You might have more luck with the Feliway diffuser than with the collars. The diffuser works in a whole room and on multiple cats.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

3 years ago

Shell, your second post wasn't here when I began mine. Updated rabies vaccines sound like a must where you're moving too. Besides, if I'm not mistaken you'll have to have them when you cross state lines with your cats. My daughter did when she moved out to the west coast.

3 years ago

Thats what i thought too darla, they had to have them for crossing state lines. i was only going to get the collars for the ride then the diffuser plug in for the home when we got there

Hi there, Ashley

Yes - I've been asked a couple of times to prove I'm not a 'Bot'.  I KNOW I once forgot my password and lost contact with a whole heap of friends when I set myself up again....but surely if i was automatic I wouldn't make mistakes again  And if I AM the female TERMINATOR, that proof would count for nothing,,,,,unless I was a STUPID Terminator..... Oh.  Okay then.

Good Afternoon to everyone in our group, I just received good news, I was going thru the groups and threads to see what was posted since last night since some of my groups and threads that I belong to do not show up in my email in box every day showing all of the postings for each thread made by every contributing member, and I came across a thread called the disappearance of Zen Whispertree, and there I found out even though Zen has been suspended she can still read our postings and send green stars to us, so if you all want to go to the help and suggestion group you might find the thread and you can leave messages there and she can read them and know we are praying for her return. I will be back later to catch up here. Sincerely Kay M.

Hello evryone, glad you liked the NYE vid, pleased too that it was something you had wanted to see too, Sandi, Darla thank you for the secound thanks  he he he,

Don't know if I told you, my son was going to get engaged to be married last weekend, in Prague? well he didn't pop the question, for a number of reasons, so he decided to pop the question last night.

So, I am a little fragile today, we had a lovely evening,(Mick -my husband &me)> with Charlotte's Mom Pearl and (boyfriend)Brian, my other son Jack and his girlfriend- Jenny, and of course Luke and Charlie.All went for a meal , we ordered champagne, and had drinks, ending the evening at my house , I finally got to bed at 5am, so today has been a "write off" The poor cats didn't know what was going on, an invation arghhhh run hide he he, I sorted them with treats in the spare bedroom, they were fine then,  So we will have a wedding in 12 months but the planning can wait a week or two I think.

Well we ordered an Indian take-away, and I have just seen car headlights , so food is here hurrah, will pop in tomos minus fragility, love hugs x wendy k x & Kelly cats xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi, Darla. Yes, it was. He was napping this morning when I saw him. I have worked more on my story today. I went forward to Monday and we have picked up the case again and we were in town all day investigating and saw one of our suspects and chased him and Bofur picked up a sack of fish and threw it at the guy to slow him down and it worked for a few minutes, but the guy got going again and then Bofur did a flying leap to try to tackle him, but miscalculated and upset a table of fish and I helped him up and he had fish entrails dangling off the ends of his beard, and we kept chasing the guy and Kili was in the lead and he is moving well thanks to the exercises I had been doing on his leg while he was recovering from his gunshot wound infection and he had almost caught the guy and did Bofur's flying leap, but landed in the canal and came back up and Thorin told him to get out of the water right away because it wouldn't do any good to catch cold this late in the case and he got out and I had a blanket to put over Kili in my day bag that I carry with me when we work and Thorin took over the chase and chased our suspect to a Buddhist temple and the monks were all freaked out and Thorin told them not to pay any attention to him and go about their business, which they did, and Thorin caught the suspect and we took him back to the F.B.I. field office and it was a bit late in the day to question him, so he was in the local jail for the night and then the next morning, we went back to the field office so Thorin could do the interrogation, and I asked Kili how long it was going to take before the suspect spilled his guts to Thorin and Kili said that it wouldn't take long because Thorin is a total genius when it comes to interrogating stubborn suspects and he goes in and just starts talking and keeps after the suspect and doesn't give the suspect time to talk and then the suspect cracks and tells Thorin what he wants and Kili was about to expound on time where Thorin had stubborn suspects, but Thorin was starting the interrogation and we wanted to watch and tonight's installment is Thorin interrogating our suspect and the suspect cracks and tells Thorin what he wants to hear, then becomes unresponsive and Thorin checks on him and the suspect becomes unruly and chokes Thorin and Fili and Kili and I rush into the interrogation room and whale on the guy to let Thorin go, and he does, but he starts kicking him in the ribs, and we have to whale on him a bit harder until he stops, and then Thorin gets up and Kili is upset and freaking out because the suspect is dead and he didn't do anything to him and Thorin tells Kili not to worry about it and he is sure Internal Affairs will understand, and as soon as he says that, Internal Affairs comes and hauls Kili in for questioning and they try to twist his story into making it look like he cracked under the strain of the case and killed the suspect, which is totally untrue, and James intervenes on Kili's behalf and tells the Internal Affairs goons to stop with the investigation and just drop it and not to bother the team anymore, and they do, and we go back to Wesley's house and Thorin spends most of the afternoon napping since the pain meds make him sleepy, and Kili takes me out to dinner at one of my favorite European restaurants as a way to thank me for helping him get through his gunshot wound infection crisis and we have a great meal together, and then we get back to Wesley's house and Thorin is reading and Fili has his hair unbraided for the evening and is doing his Brazillian Butt Lift exercises so he can get in shape for surfing season and to look good for the female dwarves that might be around at the beach and Thorin is having a cup of tea and tea helps him to relax when he has a lot on his mind and I ask him if he has something on his mind that he wants to tell me and he says that he does not and that he feels very peaceful for the first time since Gandalf died, and I ask him how he doesn't let certain situations, like not making a lot of progress on the case, bother him, and he says that they have a Buddhist monk as a neighbor back home in San Diego and he has been teaching Thorin some of the tenants of Buddhist philosphy and he absorbed it like a sponge, and Fili and Kili also help keep him grounded and instead of dwelling on it when a case goes badly, he talks to them about it and they help him get through it, and I am a very good source of peace for him and we hug Thorin and then we all get settled in for the night and early in the morning, I go check on Kili, and Bilbo, Thorin and Fili are comforting him and I ask what happened and Bilbo tells me that the rich European food we had at dinner brought on the nightmares of Gandalf's death and he woke up crying and I hug Kili and let him cry on my shoulder until he gets settled and I ask him if he wants to talk about that nightmare and he doesn't and just wants me to be with him and I hug him and help him recover from the nightmare and I send Thorin, Fili and Bilbo back to bed and I stay with Kili until he falls asleep again and I go back to my room and go back to bed.

Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. No cats on the porch again this morning. WAs 51 at 6:30 this morning when I went outside and the expected high is 71. I'm still hurting though I did figure out why. I had to stop one of my meds b'cuz the cost of it went up and start a different med. However, I have to build up to the regular dosage on the new med so it'll be about a week before I have the full amount. Not much going on here, just my usual.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shell, collars for the ride then the plug-in diffuser sounds like a plan to me. I may mention that my daughter who is driving from Washington state to North Carolina in March with two cats.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Gail, great to see you here.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sandi, brrr cold and snow. So not for me. I'll stick with my temps here. The German chocolate coffee sounds delicious. We've tried the dark chocolate hot cocoa and cappuccino but that's about it. We get good use out of the little basket for our coffee though. Love the picture.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kay, that's great that Zen can still read posts.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wendy, you're welcome. Congratulations to your son and his fiance. Wow, you were up to 5:00am! You party animal you! Yes, I think the planning can wait a week or two.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Laura, awww, the little baby was asleep. Good story.

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Hey, Darla. Yes, it was cute. He was awake when I first started my walk today, then settled down for a nap again. Nothing much going on. Our local horse show, Horse Shows In The Sun, is in town and people are already competing and our neighbor, Carolina, competed today, but lost because she did the wrong pattern. I have my riding lesson tomorrow and I will do better with Pom Pom. We have a busy week coming up. Two days before Mom's friend Tami arrives, Mom and Dad and I will go to Disney and spend the day there and then Tami comes and one of the days she is here, I will take her out to see The Desolation Of Smaug. Yes, it is good that Zen can still read posts. I am still working on it. I got as far as Oin and Balin not being able to work on the case today because they are down for the count with minor gout attacks, so they are taking it easy today, and will be back working tomorrow.

Darla, since you are a Texan, you must know about this chili cook- off.

Note:  Please take time to read this slowly.  If you pay attention to the
first two judges, the reaction of the third judge is even better. For those
of you who have lived in Texas, you know how true this is. They actually
have a Chili Cook-off about the time Halloween comes around.  It takes up a
major portion of a parking lot at the
San Antonio City Park
.

Judge #3 was an inexperienced Chili taster named Frank, who was visiting
from
Springfield, IL
.

Frank: "Recently, I was honored to be selected as a judge at a chili
cook-off. The original person called in sick at the last moment and I
happened to be standing there at the judge's table, asking for directions
to the Coors Light truck, when the call came in. I was assured by the other
two judges (Native Texans) that the chili wouldn't be all that spicy; and,
besides, they told me I could have free beer during the tasting, so I
accepted and became Judge #3."

Here are the scorecard notes from the event:

CHILI # 1 - MIKE'S MANIAC MONSTER CHILI...
Judge # 1 -- A little too heavy on the tomato. Amusing kick.
Judge # 2 -- Nice, smooth tomato flavor. Very mild.
Judge # 3 (Frank) -- Holy crap, what the **** is this stuff? You could
remove dried paint from your driveway. Took me two beers to put the flames
out. I hope that's the worst one. These Texans are crazy!

CHILI # 2 -
AUSTIN
'S AFTERBURNER CHILI...
Judge # 1 -- Smoky, with a hint of pork. Slight jalapeno tang.
Judge # 2 -- Exciting BBQ flavor, needs more peppers to be taken seriously.
Judge # 3 -- Keep this out of the reach of children. I'm not sure what I'm
supposed to taste besides pain. I had to wave off two people who wanted to
give me the Heimlich maneuver. They had to rush in more beer when they saw
the look on my face.

CHILI # 3 - FRED'S FAMOUS BURN DOWN THE BARN CHILI...
Judge # 1 -- Excellent firehouse chili. Great kick.
Judge # 2 -- A bit salty, good use of peppers.
Judge # 3 -- Call the EPA. I've located a uranium spill. My nose feels like
I have been snorting Drano. Everyone knows the routine by now. Get me more
beer before I ignite. Barmaid pounded me on the back, now my backbone is in
the front part of my chest. I'm getting $&$&-faced from all of the beer.

CHILI # 4 - BUBBA'S BLACK MAGIC...
Judge # 1 -- Black bean chili with almost no spice. Disappointing.
Judge # 2 -- Hint of lime in the black beans. Good side dish for fish or
other mild foods, not much of a chili.
Judge # 3 -- I felt something scraping across my tongue, but was unable to
taste it. Is it possible to burn out taste buds? Sally, the beer maid, was
standing behind me with fresh refills. This 300 lb. woman is starting to
look HOT...just like this nuclear was

Aphrodisiac?

CHILI # 5 LISA'S LEGAL LIP REMOVER...
Judge # 1 -- Meaty, strong chili. Cayenne peppers freshly ground, adding
Considerable kick. Very impressive.
Judge # 2 -- Chili using shredded beef, could use more tomato. Must admit
The cayenne peppers make a strong statement.
Judge # 3 -- My ears are ringing, sweat is pouring off my forehead and can
No longer focus my eyes. I farted, and four people behind me needed
Paramedics. The contestant seemed offended when I told her that her chili
Had given me brain damage. Sally saved my tongue from bleeding by pouring
Beer directly on it from the pitcher. I wonder if I'm burning my lips off.
It really ticks me off that the other judges asked me to stop screaming.
S***w them.

CHILI # 6 - VERA'S VERY VEGETARIAN VARIETY...
Judge # 1 -- Thin yet bold vegetarian variety chili. Good balance of spices
And peppers.
Judge # 2 -- The best yet. Aggressive use of peppers, onions, and garlic.
Superb.
Judge # 3 -- My intestines are now a straight pipe filled with gaseous,
Sulfuric flames. I crapped on myself when I farted, and I'm worried it will
Eat through the chair. No one seems inclined to stand behind me except that
Sally. Can't feel my lips anymore. I need to wipe my *** with a snow cone.

CHILI # 7 - SUSAN'S SCREAMING SENSATION CHILI...
Judge # 1 -- A mediocre chili with too much reliance on canned peppers.
Judge # 2 -- Ho hum, tastes as if the chef literally threw in a can of
Chili peppers at the last moment. **I should take note that I am worried
about Judge # 3. He appears to be a bit of distress as he is cursing
uncontrollably.
Judge # 3 -- You could put a grenade in my mouth, pull the pin, and I
wouldn't feel a thing. I've lost sight in one eye, and the world sounds
like it is made of rushing water. My shirt is covered with chili, which
slid unnoticed out of my mouth. My pants are full of lava to match my
shirt.  At least during the autopsy, they'll know what killed me. I've
decided to stop breathing, it's too painful. S***w it; I'm not getting any
oxygen anyway. If I need air, I'll just suck it in through the 4-inch hole
in my stomach.

CHILI # 8 - BIG TOM'S TOENAIL CURLING CHILI......
Judge # 1 -- The perfect ending, this is a nice blend chili. Not too bold
but spicy enough to declare its existence.
Judge # 2 -- This final entry is a good, balanced chili. Neither mild nor
hot. Sorry to see that most of it was lost when Judge #3 farted, passed
out, fell over and pulled the chili pot down on top of himself. Not sure if
he's going to make it. poor feller, wonder how he'd have reacted to really
hot chili?
Judge # 3 - No Report

Sandi,

Have you tried the cafe vanilla yet? If so, is it made with sugar? My sugar jumped up 100 points after I had a cup, and it said on the cup flavored, so I thought it might have splenda, but I think I thought wrong.

CAT LOVERS CHIT CHAT
3 years ago

Good Afternoon to the Cat Lovers Chit Chat Group; Coco's Nanni here; I did not think I would ever get by today to check in and say HI; I had so much to catch up on in the last 3 days. ( I received over 1300 incoming messages, postings, comments, etc. I have taken care of 890 and I still have about 400 yet to tackle. that can all wait till Monday... Over the last 2 days, I Just dealt with the Threads for JEN P. and Zen W, and all of the grief we received, just because we wanted to help our friends, I am glad it is over and done with and we have been assured that Jen P. from New Mexico is alive , but not feeling well , and Zen W. from South Africa is able to read some postings and send green stars ,so that is encouraging. I just want to say it is so good to be able to concentrate on my friends, our groups and our threads. Dear Donna, Laura, Darla, Wendy, Sandi, Gail, Shell, and Sugar. I loved reading all of the posting here and on the new member thread, the cat in the box, the inspiration thread, the smile of the day, there are so many and each is prettier than the last. I do not want to delete any of them, I want to look at them over and over again. I am so thankful we have the group of members here that are caring, concerned, and good human beings who love animals, and people without judgement. You all takes us as we are and you makes us better, just for knowing you all. Donna, that poor chili judge.....oh his pain....Laura that must be one great movie, how many times have you watched it? Wendy, coco told me of your son's engagement I am so happy for you and your family. also the Jungle book movie, is that the new one that is out now Jungle Book #2, or is it the old one from way back when? Darla ... coco says your back has been hurting, I am sorry to hear that, does the weather play a part in more or less pain? Hope you get to feeling much better real soon. Sally...that Noss has some real pretty colors when she writes in Mouse's Thread. coco loves them. Sandi... How is puppins Mom, Karen doing? coco says she may adopt another rescue puppy, that would be great, she has so much love to give. Coco was so excited, Karen is also my sister's name ( COCO's MOM) so now she feels even closer to PUPPINS, she said " we had the same mom names....that is so great it is like we were sister and brother" I bet Mis Karen would get a kick out of that. Shell ...how soon before you all move do you need to get the shots for the pets? Gail....what is this stuff about being a BOT???? I ent back, to the previous thread, but could not understand what she was asking. Sugar,.... how do survive in all that snow and below zero temps. I think I will be like a bear, pull down the blinds, get under the covers and hibernate till spring.... Do you have to dig out every day. or do you just go out once or twice a month for supplies? I hope I covered everyone. Will try to catch up more on Monday, need to move on to other threads Coco and I need to award green stars all around. Good Night, Sweet Dreams, and to a better tomorrow for all of us. Sincerely Coco's Nanni ( aka Kay M.)

Im glad i got the shots done, when i spoke to my grandmother she said her neighbor had a racoon come in her kitchen window 1 night last yr, and ate a bunch of stuff she had on the counter.

Hi.

Well this heat wave is over – thank goodness!  It is cooler today, but still very muggy   Still, glad not to have temperatures over 100 again!

Thanks for liking my front garden path.

Sugar,

I hope you can get back to your garden beds.  What sort of plants do you like?

Maitland is a little happier in the cooler weather.  He is like me and doesn’t enjoy the heat much.  Yes! He enjoys being groomed   And we go for a walk every day.  Only around our place though.   That’s because of my lymphodema problem.  Our road is very narrow and sometimes has trucks driving too fast up it.  With my lymphodema, I worry that if Matey spooks, I won’t be able to hold him – so for the moment, we stick to where it is safer.  I am doing a lot of exercises to try and get rid of the swelling, but the physiotherapists warn me that it is unlikely to improve more.  Still, I figure that throwing a lot of effort at it won’t hurt!

I am sorry to hear about the two dogs who just roam.  I hate it when people do that.  We have one down the hill from us who likes to chase cars. I am so terrified that he’ll get run over one day.

Wendy,

Congratulations to your son and Charlotte!  Hope you have recovered from the celebrations now.  Will you and Pearl be sharing the wedding planning?  Also been meaning to ask what part of the UK you are from.  I am from Lancashire originally, but have been in Oz most of my life.

Laura,

Love the idea of Thorin having a Buddhist neighbour.  I remember him as being a bit hot headed – so it’s nice to have him more at peace.

Darla,

Hope your pain is easing off a little as you increase the dose of the new med.   Is the new one the same as your old one but a different brand?  Or is it a totally new drug?  Hello to Babyface.  I think he would enjoy the weather we are having much more than I am!!!!

Kay,

I don’t know Zen Whispertree, but I remember seeing a thread somewhere about a missing member, so I will go and have a look.  Hope all is well with you.

Donna,

I am fond of chilli, but I don’t like it sizzling hot.  Have definitely been at the point Judge #3 was at Susan’s Screaming Sensation Chilli, but didn’t need to eat that much chilli to get there and it was not pretty!!

Hi everyone!  I only have a few minutes so just want to drop in for a brief hello.   Not too cold right now, snow due in tonight and tomorrow morning.  Right now it is around 36 with wind and snow covering still.  Slippery snow.  I can vouch for that!

Take care,

Sugar

Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Am running late this morning as I was into my book and read an hour past the time I usually go outside! No cats were out there this morning. I'm still hurting but am starting to get it under control. Not much happening here, just my usual.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Laura, the foal sounds adorable. Sorry your neighbor lost in the horse show. Sounds like a busy week ahead for y'all.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Donna, love the chili cook-off story! Have heard of but never been to the big one here in San Antonio.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Angie, great to see you here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kay, wow, over 1300 incoming messages! My goodness, how do you do it? When it's cold I do hurt more but that's not what is causing the pain right now. I had to switch nerve pain meds and have to build up the new one to the regular dosage.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shell, glad you got everyone caught up on their rabies vaccines.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Val, glad it's cooled off. The new med is a completely different brand than what I was taking. I'm slowly building up to the regular dosage then everything should be fine. Meanwhile, I have another med I can take more of for pain.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sugar, great to see you here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

The stuff I tried was given to me from a Church. The coffee is decaf, but I think the vanilla has caffeine. I tried the tea, and the french  and a few like that. I didn't try the chocolate. I didn't see the box on the vanilla so I don't know if it has sugar in it or not. My sugar went up, but it could have been something else that caused it.

Good afternoon to everyone; Val,Wendy,Sandi, Darla,Sugar, Shell, and Donna; Where to start.....VAL..........I think that all the treads about Jen P. and Zen W. have been closed and deleted. So now we can go back to our own lives, family, friends, and fur buddies. I would like to forget that disagreeable time when we were fussed at for having compassion and wanting to help a friend in need. .......WENDY......... Yes my friend " We did tell them" "We are Woman hear us Roar" We are like that group of elephants. We remember our friends and we take care of our own, I love the penguin video. SANDI........You are making my mouth water with that list of great flavors of coffee, tea, and hot cocoa. UM UM GOOD. DARLA.......The 1300 incoming messages was for 3 days, while all of this upset was going on around JEN P> and ZEN W. I did not work on any thing else besides trying to find and help them. That includes all of my emails from family and friends outside of the Care 2 family. Since I do not text, tweet, or belong to face book, this is their only means to communicate with me, they do not like regular phone, they do not like leaving message on my answering machine. I also receive a lot of request for political donations, Request to sign petitions for political parties and candidates, On a city, state, and federal level. On top of that I get all my Care 2 mail and request thru here also. Petitions, Care 2 News articles, Green Stars, E cards, Copies of all comments made on news articles, postings in all of the groups.,and threads I belong to. Videos, and Pictures, They usually only average 300 to 400 a day. The political ones can reach 40 to 50 a day. My representatives, My senators, etc. I know it sound like a lot. but I usually can handle it if I keep up on it everyday. There is so much that needs to be done in this country to bring us ( THE POOR AND THE MIDDLE CLASS) to where we need to be, and where we deserve to be., Equal and Free...for all.... A hand up not a hand out. No more wars, No leaving kids, families, vets, elderly, students, and the homeless behind. We Take Care of Our Own.. We can go around the world starting wars, feeding everyone else, but a home we cut off food to AMERICANS...that is just not right....PERIOD> ........SUGAR.........Keep Safe and Warm in this terrible winter weather. I do not think I would survive in that cold. .......SHELL........I hope you like Tenn, I have heard it was a lovely place to visit, I do not know anyone who lives there, After you get settled and have a chance to look around you can let us all know how you like it..........DONNA......I can not get that story of the poor Chili Judge out of my head. Are those Cook offs really that bad? Is that stuff really that hot? I can not eat any spicy stuff. I only cook with garlic, when I am cooking , no salt, and no pepper. If I make a gravy I might add fresh Onions and Fresh Celery along with the garlic. That is all. I did not mean for this to be so long., But I had so much to answer for each and everyone one of you all., It is so nice to have normal conversations with friends. I tried to make a paragraph for each person, but I just kept losing my postings so I did it this way by marking each person's name in Big Letters. I hope I do not offend anyone. I am not shouting. I will close for now Sincerely Kay M.

Hey, Val. Yes, he was. I am a bit further along in my story now. We are still in Hong Kong and we saw another of our suspects and chased him to an abandoned house and we split up to look for him and Thorin was in one of the downstairs rooms and he heard a gunshot and he ran up to the room he had heard the shot from and discovered that I had been shot in the right leg and was unconscious and he lost his composure for a moment or two because this is the first time that I have been that badly hurt while I have been working on the case, and he got himself together and asked Oin what had happened and he said that the suspect shot me in the leg and was about to finish the job and Bofur wouldn't stand for it and threw a bag of rice at him to slow him down and that helped a little bit, and then he followed it up with a bag of fermented black bean curd paste and the bag exploded, and slowed the guy down, and Bifur was sitting on the guy and had him in a toe hold and he asked Thorin if I was going to be all right, and Thorin told him that I was going to be fine, and Kili had just been on the phone with the paramedics and they were on their way and Thorin carried me outside while they waited for the paramedics and he was watching the paramedics load me into the ambulance and he was warning them to be careful and the lead paramedic said that they were being careful and we are at the hospital now and I have just gone into surgery and Thorin is reading his daily devotional prayer book, but he's still a little rattled about my shooting and can't focus on it much and a nurse takes pity on him and brings him a cup of tea and the nurse is also a nun and tonight's installment is Thorin explaining about the case and what happened to me and Kili tries to flirt with this nun but Bilbo stops him and has to remind him that she is a novice and cannot be tempted to break her vows, and then I am out of surgery and I have lost a lot of blood, and Kili finds out that he and I share the same blood type, so he gives me a blood transfusion and he feels a bit faint afterwards because he does it before dinner, so Fili gives him some orange juice and a scone that he has in his day bag that he carries with him when we're out working and that makes Kili feel better, and then they go out to dinner since it's going to be a while before I come to, and Bofur is the one sitting by my bedside when I come to.

Forgot to mention how Aaron was doing. He is doing really well. He is still doing physical therapy three days out of the week and that is going well. He thinks he should be finished doing it, but he doesn't remember stuff like he used to. He is starting a new job with his dad tomorrow, something to do with working with steel. I check on his Facebook profile sometimes.

Hi Laura, Shell, Kay, Sandi, Wendy, Donna and Darla and everyone else sleeping in this morning!

Three inches already down and still snowing.  I don't know if I am just hungry or stomach a little icky.  I am going to eat in a few minutes and see.  I had Skyline Chilli last night for dinner.  It was good.  It is supposed to be very, very cold again.  Not quite as bad as the last Artic Blast, but close to.  Everyone is fed, inside and out.  All cats and Chewy are full bellied and sleeping.  I think I may join them.

Take care everyone.  Mouse will drop in for a few minutes.
