Ashley M.	Introductions! August 19, 2005 6:51 PM Hello everyone, Just a BIG welcome to all of the Hockey Lovers who have joined recently. Sorry, I haven't been able to access a computer for the last month, I went on a couple camping trips, I left on the 19th of last month, and I just got back today, the 19th of August. No emoticans either? Anyway My name Is Kerri & I'm 30 yrs old and a wife and mom of 2 children Joshua & Kara. I live in Vancouver BC Canada, And our home teams are The Vancouver Canucks(NHL) and in WHL the Giants. My son plays ice hockey full time(winter/spring/summer) I Love the game! I'm a 100% hockey mom watch and play daily. I enjoy playing street hockey/getting started again on roller hockey and ice hockey. My son lives/sleeps hockey and if there was a cereal he would be eating hockey LOL. We missed the NHL for the last season, but I tell you we were soo busy with my son's team. We had a very overzealous manager which was good, but man what a long year. I'm happy to say my son after his first year of playing was nominated the " Captain of his team. We were shocked! we knew he did well in all the positions played, but we thought he would get the most improved player or the best all round player. Anyway we are happy and proud for him! I don't know about the font and emoticon thing, I think it might be the size of the group! Your son sounds like a great hockey player! I know what you mean about wanting to see a game, I have gotten so desperate that I continously watch my dvd of the 2002-2003 Stanley cup game! I am so very excited that hockey is back also!!! In Illinois, there is a non NHL hockey team, called the Schaumburg Wolves, and they have nothing to do with the NHL, so I went to see their games a couple of times, it kept me happy!!! anonymous	August 20, 2005 10:18 PM My wife and I live in the Charlotte, NC area and have a local ECHL team, the Charlotte Checkers... but it's a hard time getting a fix from that b/c I literally know players better than they are! haha Other than the odd pickup game here and there, I've got my fix from watching ESPN Classics from the 1994 Rangers run or the few NCAA hockey tourney games that were on cable... just not the same, though. I'm looking forward to opening night. I'm liking some of these rule changes. Not so sure about the new TV deal, but we will see. Thanks again for the welcome! We have a local baseball team in Illinois, they are called the Schaumburg Flyers, we also have our local hockey team, the Schaumburg Wolves. January 22, 2006 3:27 PM Hi, Welcome to Hockey lovers!!I originally lived in Illinois for 15 of 16 years of my life, so I am the hugest Blackhawks fan, I also like their local teams, especially the Schaumburg Wolves! There aren't many hockey times here in Washington, so I basically feed off of the cable games, and reruns are the best!! I hate the Bruins, mostly because their management is a joke, and they do not care about their fans. I would say that Washington is my favorite team, because I love watching young teams grow together and eventually become contenders. I change my favorite team every few years or so.
