Today, October 11 is National Girls Day!
Many years ago I decided to sponsor a child and went with finding a girl as I know how poorly they are treated in many third world countries.
Please add your inspiration here too.
Hello Healthy Cooking people!
I have had a challenging time getting logged into Care2. For some reason it would not recognize me and it was nothing to do with the password.
Good news is that I am here and the posting is finally been seen as you are now reading this. I am saying all of this in hope.
Hi Marie, sounds like you have a good plan for you.
What we all need to remember is that we all have different bodies with unique requirements. So eat and drink what feels good and tastes good.
Wishing you lots of success with your nutrition.
I was talking to a Nathuropath from 4th generation. I know him for many years. I can't visit him, he is too far from me. But we talked halph an hour on the phone.
I noted as a good student at the University the most I can. I am moving the 28th instead of yesterday the 25th. To be HEALTHY, what to eat in 2013 with the contaminated ... I'll do my best to try to remember. No dairy products. No soya. If you want bread, make kindof cake with brown rice flour. No margarine no butter is the best, butter is better than margarine. You can have what you want. He explained me why. Will be too long to write it now. All savage meet lol, I lost my English, the meet you kill in the wood. No fish at all, Lobsters and all these are garbage. Turkey and horse. Chinese groceries sell frozen wings of 'oies'. All wheat not good for health. Only lemons. Brown flour without gluten. Gluten is not good for nobody. All Green organic if not go for non organic. All beans, lentilles, you can make what you want to eat. oops, germination. Water 4 cups, 250 ml 1 litter, but not all water they sell. I have a bottle with a Brita filter, he told me it is fine.
Diana, please help, I am sure you can make it clear.
Thank you very much, my friend.
Sorry about not being here. It was something to do with Care2 settings not letting me post anywhere. Not sure if any of you had the same problem? Happy to be able to now. Hoping I can post this.
I was on a Baltic Cruise for 11 days and here is a sunset across the sea:
I am visiting England, my home for 19 years and so happy to be catching up with old friends. What this means is that it is not always possible for me to get here.
This is me in my favourite town of Totnes, Devon.

This is a very big hero in what happened yesterday and so sad.
This is Victoria. She died a hero yesterday.
She hid her first graders in the cabinets and closets after hearing the gunfire. When the shooter came to her classroom, she told him that her students were in the gym. He then gunned her down and moved on. She saved the lives of all of her students. She deserves to be remembered for her bravery.
I have been very busy teaching a Healthy GF Baking BootCamp this weekend which is why I have not been here so much.
Lest We Forget
At the 11th hour, on the 11th day, of the 11th month... take time to remember.
Just got back from Chip Lake which is a favourite destination of mine. I worked my up coming BootCamp menu and recipes this week. It took me a five days to do but it is looking good. Now to get the shopping list ready.
Some of you may have noticed that it was impossible to post in this group because it was in the old format. I like many things about the old Care2 format which is why I hung on to it.
But the time finally came for me to change over to the new Care2 group format.
How does this work for you?
Hi, Nance !
big pleasure to see, you´ re back again
Nance, it so great to see you back here again. Like having an old friend come back. Hugs to you.
Looks like you are into the swing of things for the weekend~Diana~
Great to see u again!
Hi Judy H., just saw your post today since am relatively new here. But here is a link to a page for NON GMO soy products in case you are still interested. Hope it helps a bit.
Diane, LOVE apricots too. Yummy, wish you could share.
I am back from a holiday in the Mountains and the Okanagan holiday. Brought back a case of apricots which all I can think of doing with right now is to simply eat them as they are so good.
Hello everyone. I've recently decided to eliminate animals from my diet, so I've been looking for substitutions for things I've been used to eating. I've run across cheese substitutes which are made from soy, but that brings up another concern for me. From what I understand, virtually all soy is genetically engineered. Is there a particular brand of cheese substitute that can be trusted? (Same with tempeh products, and other soy-based foods). Thanks so much for any education you can provide.
Hi, I am new to this group. Cooking is relatively new to me and I am learning how to improve my skills in the kitchen. I wrote an article recently on the subject and wanted to share
Eating Pear Hazelnut crumble that I created this afternoon for my evening dinner guest; have to try it out. mmm
As you know spam is big on Care2 and in this group. I delete posts almost every day. I cannot be here 24/7 so sometimes a post stays up a little too long.
What you as a helpful member of this group please:
- Flag it; when enough do this it will automatically be deleted.
- Do not reply ever as that brings it up to the top.
- If you want to be very helpful; reply to 3 other posts so that the spam does not show up on the top. This is what I have done in groups that I am not a host and know the host cannot get there pronto.
Governments around the world are implementing or considering fat taxes.
Denmark and Hungary have already passed legislation to put levies on products considered to be unhealthy (i.e. foods containing high amounts of sugar, salt, and fat). This money is then funneled into health care.
Canada is interested. New York State has tried to tax junk foods particularly soft drinks.
7 Reasons Governments Want Us to Decrease Soft Drink Intake:
Just wanted to alert everyone about Diana's great article in the green living section on Smart Carbs- Dumb Carbs I think I'm pretty smart in this area - if I do say so myself! http://www.care2.com/greenliving/smart-carbs-vs-dumb-carbs.html
Sorry about my absense, my computer needed to go to the computer doctor to have some important upgrades. This is the first day since last Thursday to have a computer to use.
Have to say it was fun not being on the computer for so many days. Anyways I am back and look forward to hearing from more of you.....
Finally I am here again! The storm on Monday evening took the internet away; the guy from Telus arrived last night!
Lightening struck my house! Suddenly there was a Clear sharp sound like glass cracking; louder then anything I have ever heard in my entire life. No space between the lightening and the cracking sound.
Thank you Sarah; I did have a great time and thought of my mom often as I know how much she wanted to go on the trip I just went on.
Ciao Diana - hope Rome goes well ! Not too much pasta !
We will miss you too while you are away, you also have your Moms sweet heart so take care of it and enjoy your cruise....
Dear Diana Im sory about the loss of your mother. I remember her on Sunrider cruse. She was a sweetest, gentle and fun loving person. I know how difficult this must be for you. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
This evening mom passed away peacefully. I feel at peace with her passing & also I feel deeply sad.
I want to update you all as to why I am not here so much.
My mother went into the emergency hospital last week. A few days later we were told that she would be dying soon. It was a shock as we had no idea there was anything wrong.
I am spending my days at the hospital with mom & family. No idea how long it will be so it really is one day at a time.
This morning a friend sent this to me and even tho I have seen it before it took on a whole new meaning as I have these very sweet days with my mom.
Happy New Year!
I would like to thank you ALL for being a part of my life.
A New Year: What will 2010 bring & what would we like it to bring into our lives?
There is a fine line between creating our life & letting the divine orchestrate our life.
Being open & available for life's miracles & surprises while actualizing our dreams is what we need to do.
What are your dreams for 2010? Love to hear them.
Next week I will tell you mine.
May you have a wonderful 2010 in all ways.
With love, Diana
Ok I am out of here; off to the country house for a 2 day writing & nature retreat where there is not internet or TV
Well, dk had a Apple and he is back with Dell...
Reason I will not be here as much for a few days.
My computer has decided to go into total retirement...no longer wishes to be active. I will of course be getting a new tower this coming week. In the meantime it is very time difficult doing much on my computer as I have to work in Safe mode which makes it very slow.
It is my tower...processor that needs replacing...all the rest such as the monitor, keyboard, mouse, printers and scanner are all fine...many of them newish.
Dual Quad with 64 bit is what I am told & the other suggestion is an Apple.....but I am worried that the rest of my bits won't work with an Apple and what about all of my files which are many. So if anyone has any suggestions on a fast efficient computer that will not cost heaps that would be great. I need to get it this week.
