remember petunia?? i do have photo....but can't seem to find it at this time, if anyone has a photo of petunia please add on this thread please.
---------------------
I saw pictures of our girl Petunia at her new home on Sunday. She lives on a farm out in Katy with a family that already has a pitbull so they are familiar with, and LOVE, the breed. Their little boy is about 8 years old and when he met Petunia he said 'this is going to be my dog!' How cute!!! Petunia took an instant liking to him and followed him around everywhere. There's a picture, I'll get a copy and forward later, of Petunia and their other dog running in the green green green grass with trees everywhere and cows! She just trots along and says hi to the cows and plays with the other dog and cuddles with the little boy....An absolutely perfect storybook ending for a sweet little princess! But, the little boy changed her name. He couldn't walk around with a dog named after a flower! No way. He's a Boy. He wanted his dog to have cool name! So, he renamed her Gunny after a character in a cartoon he watches. No matter her name, he simply adores her!
These special ladies are the reason for Petunia being so happy, healthy and loving towards everyone:

Since the story of trixie and pprt assisting this little sweetheart to get her surgery done. TRixie has been able to walk normal again, and today july 5th, she was well enough to be spayed, which was funded by life force that helps with some of the costs of spay/neutering needs for pet owners.
trixie will go home tonight to her loving family Mr & Mrs Hill, and we are so honored to have met and been able to help trixie and her family. wishing them all a very long and happy life. smile hugs kindle

total of dogs adopted from silsbee city pound were 7, some went to lexington, other in near by towns near silsbee texas, such as woodville tx. this week there were no euthanized animals at the city of silsbee animal control.
i still can't seem to get the photos to work or post. but for sarge...he has been adopted by a city worker with no dogs and no kids. its a perfect match, and the new owner is aware of the past incident, and is taking responsiblity and care about sarge. with the new environments and the responsible owner, we feel that sarge will be a good pet and pal to his new owner.
we are happy to see sarge find a safe haven, and be ok.
transporting lab pups and small dogs to ADL/san antonio today. ADL has excepted to pull some of the silsbee city pound dogs off the e-listings.
we still have a couple dogs that need to be pulled from the pound. but are very happy to transport and save the ones of this day, and into hope of finding new homes and families.
silsbee texas dog pound is working very hard, and nearly has a 0 euthanize ratings. how many dog pounds can say that!@?

That poor mama looks like those puppies took everything she had to give. I am so glad she will be getting some very needed TLC and groceries. She did a good job though, those are precious babies! Very relieved to see them saved and on to new lives. With so many, I was worried.
An Austin non-profit is working to heal a burn victim. "Honey", a Labrador mix, was found in a trailer park with third-degree burns over 30 percent of her body. "Honey" was also on the city's euthanasia list. Now, Austin Pets Alive! is looking to get Honey's burns healed, while at the same time finding her a home. Honey made one of what will be many trips to the veterinarian on Monday [Jan 5, 2009] when KVUE News visited her. "Her feet are severely burned. You can see the bones in one of her feet. She's missing probably 90 percent of the skin on two of her feet -- it's really bad," said Ellen Jefferson, Austin Pets Alive! veterinarian. Honey was found last week in a Southeast Austin trailer park. Veterinarians believe she was intentionally burned with some type of chemical. "The only thing I could think of that would not be intentional would be if she bumped into a table with a big vat of acid on top of it. But I don't know how many people leave something like that out," said Jefferson. When the city's animal shelter knew it would have to put Honey down, Austin Pets Alive! took her in, started care and found her a foster mom. "I work in the veterinary industry, so I'm kind of used to dealing with medical issue with dogs. Of course this is a little more stomach turning than most, but I wasn't phased by it and I'm happy to help her," said Robyn Roberts, foster mom. Honey is probably the worst case they can take and still turn the dog around. And they are surrounded by inspiration. A small Schnauzer-mix named "Phoenix" was brutally beaten, forced to eat detergent and near death last year. Today, he happily runs around at the vet's office as if nothing happened. "I've been shocked over and over again just how well they cope with things that happen to them," said Jefferson. For at least the next month or two, Roberts will continue to foster Honey. "She's just been a sweet dog. You wouldn't know she had these injuries if you just saw her face," Roberts said. After that, Honey will be ready for a new family -- one that hopefully will give her a long happy life after what has been a rough start. You can follow Honey's progress on Austin Pets Alive! web site. Her foster mom writes a daily blog. There's also a place to donate specifically to Honey's medical bills or put-in your name if you want to adopt her permanently.
Honey, the dog who was shot with a pellet gun and found with severe burns on her body has been adopted by a local family. The one-year-old Labrador mix was found last month wandering in a trailer park with severe burns to 30 percent of her body. Doctors also found a pellet under those wounds. Honey was so badly burned there was concern that she'd need amputations, but thanks to a caring foster family and local rescue group, Austin Pets Alive, she has recovered and has a new home. Source: MyFox Austin - March 1, 2009 Update posted on Mar 2, 2009 - 10:15AM Back to Top A lab mix who suffered severe burns will soon be adopted, an Austin non-profit rescue group announced Wednesday. The one-year-old dog, named "Honey," was taken in by Austin Pets Alive after she was found wandering in a trailer park. The dog had deep burns on her torso and feet and had been hit with a pellet from a pellet gun. The organization has been working with local veterinarians and taking donations in order to help the dog recover. A foster mother has taken Honey to regular vet visits and hydrotherapy sessions. Several families have contacted Austin Pets Alive about adopting Honey, and the dog's foster mother is in the process of selecting the family, the group said. Austin Pets Alive says it saves an average of 140 pets a month from being euthanized. More than 8,000 animals are euthanized in Austin each year. I found Sidney (Cocker Spaniel Mix) December 14, 2008, at Cetar Hill Cematery, in Forestville, MD, while on vacation. She was skin and bones and the weather was freezing. I couldn't just leave her there so I took her in and decided to foster her because all the shelters in that area (that the locals told me about anyway) were kill shelters. I had Abby (my Toy Poodle) with me and they got along great. So when it was time for me to go home I put her in the car and she road the 12 hrs back with us to warm, sunny Florida. Since then I've, of course, fallen in love with her and decided to give her a forever home with me and Abby. She's now up to date on all her shots, spayed, and up to a healthy weight. =) I love happy endings!
