i am opening up a new category listing...for animals that are on death row or in short time needs category. where rescuers can post for those fur babies on time related situations. also will be updating and adding to the other categories of euthanized animals and saved/homed/adopted animals that we did help out in some way, through our connections or communications.

i feel such categories are important, as they tell us what successes we have had in our hard work to save animals, but also to mourn our losses of those that didn't get help.

all informations and updates in these categories are welcome and all can post their informations when they know whether there is need, saved, or euthanized animals.

mindy's family came and got her, thats the australian shep mix, the boston terrier has been adopted.

which leaves us odie, is a male approx 7 mos old...which i picked up to prevent euthanization...odie is a puppy, and seems to be a shep/hunting dog mix. with beautiful markings and faded shep markings on a cream colored coat.

this pup will be medium sized, and is so smart...easy training fellow, wants to learn, wants to follow me everywhere.  was scared of the horses the first day and come 2nd day, lays in the stalls with the horses, and at the hooves of horses (my horses are very much use to dogs and puppies, chickens etc at their feet and under them, no worries of injuries).

odie is a submissive and not in the alpha position, which makes for a fantastic people companion pet.

would like to place for adoption and recover 25.00 fee that i paid to save his life, or send to rescue that place him up for a loving permanent home out of thier agency.

Every dog either got adopted or saved from the silsbee city pound in texas. but one..
which blows my mind, as he is the best and most trained of the bunch too. dosen't jump on people, lays at my feet at the computer, dosen't need kenneling, is house broke, quiet, dosen't chew, chase cars or jump the fence.
has gentleman manners and well trained. is use to horses, chickens and other animals, dosen't even chase the CAT!
Rides in car just fine and lays down when moving. just plain ole great pet for anyone of any age, easy going border collie, we named DUNCAN. this dog looks to be full blooded too.
is a young adult male, does need nuetering when adopted or rescued.
2nd to last photo above is duncan, not the best photo, but is the one we have from city pound.

duncan did get adopted at the last minute, so every dog this week at silsbee city pound were rescued/adopted and not euthanized. another week is another story, will post more babies needing help when they come in. hugs kindle

mindy is on borrowed time at the dog pound. there is only one dog posted on the city of silbee website at this time. i am sure someone can help just one dog stay alive til that baby can find a home of love?
she is a cutie, and does not look to be a big dog either.

There are some of the most beautiful dogs listed at this shelter in Athens, Ga. The person that does this site goes to the pound and meets the dog, writes a short bio, and I think, takes the most amazing pictures. She really gets the dogs personality to show. If more of this sort of thing could be done, I think there would be better success in getting dogs adopted out of shelters. As I understand you have to be a rescue in Ga. or live in Georgia. There is an adorable little Chihuahau, urgent case owner surrendered no wait time. Also, a drop dead geogeous husky with ice blue eyes, an apricot poodle that would be beautiful when groomed, a cocker spaniel that is also gorgeous.  There is an adorable shepherd mix, just look at that face!!! Some really nice labrador mixes. I know most of you are probably in Texas but if you have any ideas about any of these dogs or know anyone in Ga.wanting a dog or a rescue contact for the specific breeds, please do look!!! If nothing else please note the Chihuahua, her case is urgent.

There are a few rescues in Athens that will pull for reputable rescues in other parts of the country. Most of these rescues are full and have no room to keep them, transport or boarding would need to be set up immediately. I have seen a lot of posts for these babies on Care2, if you are interested in any of these dogs I would suggest doing a search for rescues in that area and contacting them to see if they can help pull.
