FOUND Injured Great Dane,Bridge City, Texas HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!! Share Yesterday at 12:30pm Hi, I'm not sure if you guys can even help. My name is Rachel Hodgkinson. Last night I returned home after running errands to find an severely Injured Great Dane. He appeared to possibly have been hit by a car. I'm honestly not really sure. I went around the neighborhood looking for his owner with no luck. I proceeded to take him to the vet myself. After he was x-rayed the vet informed me that the connecting rotating cup to the leg and hip had been shattered. She said she wasn't sure but the bill for the surgery would be highly expensive and we should consider putting him to sleep. She also suggested I look into finding a foundation that could possibly help with the surgery. Even though I have only known the dog for a day the thought of putting him to sleep due to an expensive surgery kills me. He is such an amazing dog considering all he has been through. Currently at the moment I do not know the cost of the surgery but will include the animal hospital name an address when he is being treated as well as some pictures of him. I hope and pray you guys can help. I would love to give him another chance at a better life. Thank you so much for your time. -- Sincerely Rachel Hodgkinson Bridge City Animal Hospital 2832 Texas Ave. Bridge City, Texas 77611 (409) 735-9155 My home phone (409)738-2472 My cell phone (409)779-0535
Rachel,
Could you arrange a donation fund so that the vetenarian bill could be paid...First Giving is a donation we use at the group I work with...perhaps the vet will see that miney is coming in to help and will donate his time if the other expenses are covered....Perhaps contact Best Friends and see if they know how to help or any suggestions as how to help..I would love to donate..just think if 100 people donated $10.00....I will keep an eye on the site...I am a new member and do not have friends so I can not email...but I will keep a watchful eye.....Dawn,Don...and Larry and Charlie...
It is disappointing..all I can do is hope that people called to help pay for the vet care...it starts by helping just one animal....but I do not see any other responses to the request...and while money is tight for everyone..I see this group has over 71,000 members...imagine the fund that could be built if everyone donated just $10.00 or even less to help in matters such as these..or help with the dog population in Greece, or help other organizations get started...Did you know that the Susan B. Komen foundation started with a sister on person and has generated over a billion dollars towards breast cancer research.. and now has billion dollar coporation as sponsors....it is amazing what one person can do....imagine what even if just half this group could do of they organized.....
