Yesterday I got an email here on care2 from Panda about a black, older, female dog needing to be rescued in Ohio. Her time was up, and she was in the Portage Shelter facing being put to sleep within days. I sent out emails to all my relatives who are known to be pet lovers, in hopes that one of them might be able to pick up, and transport this gal to a care2 member, who had said she'd give her a loving home, but was without transportation, and lives in Maryland. Then I sent a note to the Portage shelter telling them what I'd sent out, and that I'd be praying someone up there could see to getting her to our member. Today I got a note from Sarah at Portage Shelter, informing me that she had found a loving home in Wisconsin!! It makes me so happy for her. My husband and I are in the position of moving to Hawaii within weeks, and have our rescue Aussie ready to be brought into Hawaii without the 4 month quarantine. She will fly there with us. I told the Shelter that I really didn't think an older dog would live through a 4 month quarantine. So, peppilapew@care2.com if you read this, thank you for your offer to take her, and know she now does have a loving home.
