I'm so glad I found this group. I'm a real family guy nut! I read through some of the threads and it seems like you guys know how to have fun in here. My favourite family guy character is Brian, I love his dry wit, his alcoholism and his liberal leanings...
and I'm pleased to see Christian and Steve here - they're members of the anti-Bush group I co-host. Hi guys!
Favourite season is 3, and my favourite lines are:
Peter: (at plush rehab) Wow, this is where god would come if he had to stop doin' blow!
Stewie: We're playing house. Lois: But that boy is all tied up! Stewie: er, Roman Polanski's house.
and from the movie- Tricia Takanawa: Aaargh! Make love to me Ziggy Stardust! I take you home! I make you fish ball soup! FISH BALL!
and the ipecac scene is maybe the best thing to have been shown on tv in at least a decade, maybe even longer.
Man, you just brought up one of my all-time favourite FG quotes...the one about God if he was doin' blow! Way to make me laugh first thing upon starting my computer up!
And now I've gotta go check out a scene from last night's episode that nearly gave a heart attack from laughing so hard!
Steve, don't believe him December 19, 2005 4:41 PM
I'm not a good girl, lol. Christian knows all about my chequered teenage years... and Christian - what happened to those peaches you promised me? Um, giggedy giggedy.
can't I have a Sam Adams? Sam Adams... ALWAYS a good decision. Christian, forget the peaches. Just agree to play Roman Polanski's house with me sometime.
Very welcome Lisa! How you have a blast here...We all are...well... I can't think of a good word to decribe our craziness... Perhaps we can make one up.
*Hsssss....AHHHHHHhhhh...hssssss.....AHHHHHHHHHHHhhh......hssssssss......AHHHHHHHHHhhh........hssssssss............AAAHHHHHHHHHhhhh....hsssssssss.......AHHHHHHHhhhhhhhh.....hssssssssss....AHHHHHHHhhhhh...*

*wipes brow* Phew!! Am I ever glad I found a group I could share this insanely hilarious television show with!!! I must say, I've seen every episode at least three times and there's no shame in admitting it either
Anywhoo, hope to make nice with the rest of you FG nuts!!
Jas
Lois: Come on Stewie, don't be afraid. It's just water, it's not gonna bite. Stewie: Shut up! I know it's not going to bite, stupid! What a stupid thing to say. You drown in it you moron! It doesn't have to bite you!
Nah, messing with anything Lite Brite, period, is just plain mean! That game was awesome.. in fact, I'll let you in on a dirty little secret - I still have mine *giggle*...but Shhhhh!!!
I used to live in Apponaug, Rhode Island back in the 1960's. Quahog is pronounced 2 ways in Rhode Island. I always knew it as, "Qwaw-hawg", but other people pronounce it, "Koe-hawg". It doesn't really matter either way.
It's actually the name given to very large clams that alot of people know as "Cherrystones", or "Littlenecks". They're indigenous to New England and also really good eating, raw with cocktail sauce and beer!!!
Hence the "Drunken Clam" and the giant clam story where Peter washed ashore as the giant clam, only he lost his clam costume and showed up naked. ...but, I digress.
The big Quahogs are really tough and have to be chopped up to make Clam Chowda'. The only "real" clam chowder is New England (with milk or cream). The other stuff is OK, but most New Englanders won't bother with it much. Probably because it's named for Manhattan, is made with tomatoes & veggies, and Rhode Islanders have penis envy because it's the smallest state! (My feet stuck out into Massachusetts when I was born there!)
You may also have heard of "Wampum" or Indian money. It was made from the big quahogs and the purple parts of the shell were treated as more valuable when made into Indian beads.
Cool, huh?
I'm just a fountain of useless information, aren't I?
You sure are one useless fountain, but hey, things are clearer now
Christian - I hear ya! There are lots of words up here that make no sense at all when you read them as opposed to how you pronounce them But hey, that's us wacky Canadians, EH!! heheh
Cathy!! The way you just did that totally reminded me of a Simpsons episode!! Did anyone ever see that one with the clumsy waiter and the way he pronounced "chowder" and Mayor Quimby's nephew went to court cause everyone thought he beat the waiter up?!??
That's another show I'm horribly addicted to! It's amazing how many lines one can recite from certain tv shows when one watches them furiously I love adult-themed cartoons!!
P.S. I love the Simpsons and Futurama too. My favorite Simpsons quote: "Mrs. Pummelhorse, I'd like to get down now."
I was in a restaurant once when the hostess called someone's name repeatedly when their table was ready and they didn't answer. I said that quote and she just busted out laughing on the microphone because she knew exactly what I was talking about.
You know what? I think you hit the nail right on the head! "Quay" would be pronounced "key" in French! Just like the French name "Guy" is pronounced "Ghee".
Alright then. Now that we have that out of the way, let's all go back to Ko-hog for a St. Paddy's-style Pawtucket Pat!
Leave it to me and my little french quirks, but the word that's pronounced in french that sounds like "Key" in english isn't "Quay"... it's "Qui", meaning "Who".
Wow, now it's time for my useless fountain of knowledge to surface
Anywhoo, Christian! Yes! Let's get back to the partying!!
Oh geez, after months of lurking, I guess I should finally arrive at the party. Here I am! May I join in the festivities?? Pleeeeeease??

You mean "chowda"?
I live in West Greenwich out in da woods. Actually near the Mishnock Barn (pronounced "baan") where they used to have picnics, then was a rock n roll club, now is a country western joint.
Thanks for the welcome...this looks like a fun place to hang...lookin forward to getting to know y'all. Val
You forgot, you also have to add an 'r' at the end of words that end in a vowel too.
When I left Rhode Island in the early 70's, I moved to Boca'r' Raton.
I used to live on Waterman lake in North Scituate near Knight's Apple Farm (it was way out in the boonies...had an RFD number for an address). I hear Knight's is still there. I also lived in Apponaug, Cranston and Barrington for awhile. I miss the snowy winters, but then again, I was a kid and all I had to do was shovel the snow, not drive in it.
NEWS FLASH! - Texas' worst air disaster occurred when a small two-seater Cessna 150, piloted by two Texas A&M students, crashed into a cemetery earlier today in College Station, TX.
Search and Rescue workers have recovered 300 bodies so far and expect the number to climb as digging continues into the evening.
The pilot and copilot survived and are helping in the recovery efforts.
It just hit me that Cathy & I both have avi's picturing us as being quite deep in thought...kinda ironic considering the rarity of actual thoughts that happen between us!
