Please tell us about yourself. Here's me: I help people help themselves. I'm an energy healing arts practitioner & holistic/spiritual life coach. I feel strongly about Gaia, our home planet and how living with her synergistically is crucial to peace, and also that peace is established within each individual, creating a domino effect in the home, neighborhood, town, state, country and then expanding globally. Here's my peace statement:
My heart is peaceful. My mind is peaceful. My home is peaceful. My family is peaceful. My son is peaceful. My relationsip is peaceful. My work is peaceful. My life is peaceful. The world is peaceful.
Becoming an Ambassador for Peace October 03, 2005 10:44 AM
My name is Cynthia and I live in Ft. Lauderdale. I recently had the opportunity to attend the Peace Alliance Conference in Washington DC. Many told stories of how violence has directly impacted their lives and I could not help but feel remorse for those who have been impacted by violence.
As a mother, I am increasingly growing disheartened by the constant stream of violence that has grown pervasive in our society.
How many of us wish for Peace and wonder... "What can I do?"
We all have a choice: to allow ourselves to become victims of the news and become apathetic or... to find ways to join up with others to form a network bound together by the common purpose -- To help create a Culture of Peace.
I realized that my actions alone... no matter how big of heart... were small in the grand scheme of things. But many hands make light work for all. I hope that together we can create an Alliance... and together we can change the world.

There are so many wonderful people that have joined this group.
Some of you are already personal friends.
I want to welcome and encourage you all to Introduce yourselves to the others in the group. Please tell us a little about yourself and your vision for peace!
Looking forward to Meeting everyone on November 6th at the Kickoff gathering!
Hello....I'm glad someone started this group.....Peace is rooted in humanity, brotherhood, and not being afraid to stand for what you believe in....it's a foundation that tears down the walls of violence, violence as entertainment, violence for political gain, violence is violence and misdirected anger is usually the fuel to it's fire.....be active and stand up against the violence and aggression that can poison lives and strangle dreams.....hi everyone.I'm Steve and I live in Miami, I have a voice, I have a heart, and I have a mind, and those are the only weapons I'll ever need.
Cynthia, thank you for this very important club. This is very close to my heart and I want to do all I can to be a part of it. My schedule is always crazy. I go to BCC south pt. time. Where do you meet and when? Please let me know via e-mail at main e-mail as sine you know, Wilma has really closed us and bnoxed us in. Just got power back. If I lose it again, I can hopefully still get to PC when college re-opens I think on this Mon. I'm deleting almost all mail as it's now overwhelming and No can do! In college, I belong to a Christain group to help others, a food bank in a place called Hialeah. I think that you got the eye, I got a tornado. Peace world-wide is a glorious concept. If only all people of all race, colors, code, and creeds would follow the examples of Mother Thereas, Martin LuthlerKing, and so many others. Even Aristotle tried. I hope that many will think with their hearts and open it up to the truth and reality of life.Since the hurricane, my life does have a whole new meaning. Being alive is such a blessing. Maybe many (including myself) needed this RUDE AWAKENING just to see how much life and peace do really mean. The good part of going to college is that all must get along. Generally this does hold. I'm proud that I can hopefully be a part of the good of mankind. If you want to reach me: Jesuvenne@msn.com. No time for much of anything else for awhile. We CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!! Italia ****

Cynthia, thank you for the invite. I have been a peace activist since the days of the Viet Nam war, and actually before that if I consider my reactions as I watched the actions of officials during the Civil Rights movement as a child. I'm basically an old hippie, and very proud to be one. My vision for peace is just to have all people live with respect, love, and attempt to understand others...for all other people. I view violence as stemming from fear, and most people seem to fear the unknown. We are all in this together and must find a way to get along or everything will be destroyed. PEACE!~pass it on~

Welcome to all the new members!
We have an opportunity to stay connected through the Florida Peace Alliance Group site. The key is to connect in as often as you can and to add to the discussions.
Tips: 1) Staying Connected - Right click on this group page and save a Shortcut to your desk top. Then when you want to participate, you can bypass the login and go instantly to the site.
2) Participation - This group site is only as good as the folks who participate. It's so easy to post -- ideas, thoughts, articles. Just cut and paste them right into the appropriate discussion folders.
3) Email Tracking -- You can automatically receive updates and changes if you click on Track all Topics. This will send any updates directly to your email and then the emails can link you back into the group page.
4) Most of all -- This is your site too. Please feel free to respond to others and add things that inspire you to this group site. This is a great way for us to stay connected and aware. This can be a fun way of sharing. Enjoy!
Yes, I agree and support what Cynthia said. Let's make this group effective! I see that members have increased recently, so please add your energy to the forum here. And many of us are local, so we can ground our group by meeting up too.

Hi Folks - just checking in to introduce myself - Dan Kahn, resident of Gainesville - glad to share cyberspace with y'all. Looking forward to the future, looking backward at the past - it's a linear thing. But seriously - the Department of Peace just makes a heck of a lot of sense - let's sort out how to get along better and share this sweet neat experience of living. Peace and The Force Be Strong With You All.
