When I was a kid, during holidays, my dad & uncles would put each other down and talk up their own branch.

My uncle Bill was in the Navy at Guatanimo Bay where the guy in front of him was blown up by a bomb that knocked my uncle down and he developed epilepsy from it.

When I was in Greece, I was engaged.  The guy I was engaged to got drafted into the Navy because he put me into the hospital to save my life when my appendix burst.  He was wounded in the leg.  The wound was serious and caused him pain.  He is dead now.  I do not know how or why.

My maternal grandfather was a translater in the Navy during WWII.

So this thread is to tell stories about the Air Force and put down the other branches if you like...all in fun.

My dad emailed this to me saying "its what the Coast Guard taught the Navy"
