CARE2 HCA Links ONLY!!!! November 19, 2005 6:06 AM
This thread is for your areas Care2 HOMELESS COMMUNITY AID (HCA) Group link.
If you don`t have a Care2 group dedicated to your community, we strongly urge you to start one. Then come back here to put it on this list for Care2 members in your vacinity who are interested in joining you in helping the Homeless in your area.
Your group can use HCA in its title if you wish, eg: Springfield, IL HCA or it can have another title and just be a member of this main group. However you wish to do it. But do it! Just get a group started, post its link here, for easy access for Care2 members in your area to find your group.
Please post an announcement that your group is a member/affiliate of HCA and link back to this main group.
I just created this group
I was homeless in Santa Cruz County, so I have some direct, hands-on experience of what it's like (even though I currently reside in Norway)- Additionally, I'm in touch with local homeless activist groups in this area.
Thank you, Donna and Becca, for the vision of local community action underlying all these HCA groups. As I've said before, it's clear and it's inspiring!!

I saw some members logged in but there is no pics of who was there while I was working on the page...I had a hard time deciding on background for the homepage...so I used yflower to represent the Maryland flower.
Now I am working on Topics...it is slowing getting there.
Whatever Happened to that Pahrump Group November 27, 2006 1:35 PM
Was that Pahrump HCA deleted? I was trying to find it since I found a good article to copy & paste. I clicked on the link in this thread but it just took me to the page with the other Care2 groups.

It's new, so theres not much there. Also, I will be incarcerated soon, so if someone would like to volunteer (hopefully from Boise) to co-host the page while I am gone I'd appreciate it. I am technically homeless right now myself, but once I am out I plan on volunteering at the local rescue mission to help other young people help themselves when they are in a similar situation. Thanks!
2 HCA groups reactivating- need support October 25, 2007 11:01 PM
Richard and I are re-activating the Baltimore Homeless HCA group and we could use some support. I'd like to get in touch with the group owner and see if he or she wants to either nominate co-hosts or pass along the ownership of the group.
Also, I am making a commitment, once again, to make the Santa Cruz HCA group active. I could use some support there. Any ideas and suggestions are completely welcome!
