I`ve been putting off starting this Homeless Project on Care2 for too long now

This group is for giving a kickstart to those on Care2 who have been wanting to help the Homeless in their Communities in some possible way, shape or form.

When looking at Care2 members profiles, I see so many that are concerned with the Homeless Issue. All over the world.

Many of us are naturally overwhelmed when we are confronted with the overall picture. Rather than let that deter us from even attempting to help, let us concentrate our efforts to see what we can do for our part in our own Communities.

Start a Care2 Group just for your Community. It can be a Neighborhood, a Town, a County, a City. Just do it!

Hi Everyone, I've been away from C2 for a long while due to personal reasons which have been resolved recently.

I was in New Orleans during Katrina..it just worked out that way..ande it was ..well worse than the news could ever show..

I am currently in New York City, still attending Uni here, and, since the re-election of the Mayor and his non-action, cold lack of awareness of people in need *be they homeless families or just in need of FOOD!*..i want to find a way to help.  Most of the local agencies are struggling to keep up with the demand for food, housing itself is but a dream...

I am disgusted and depressed and will not tolerate Donald Trump's best bud, the Mayor of New York reliance upon people, those who TRY to help and the homeless themselves, to just move away/go away, leave NYC.

At present, this Mayor is more concerned with NYC being approved for the Damn Olympics..which this City needs like a hole in its head, since it's still on ORANGE alert (same as D.C.) since 9.11 and remains a primary target for terrorism.

Let me know what i can do to help!

Thank you for the invite Donna. Where do I start? I live in a suburban area that does not have a huge homeless population but am near enough to a large metro area that does. There are shelters and soup kitchens and other venues but I would like to help. I will contact the metro group and jump in!!! Blessings to you!

You can also set up an affiliate HCA group here on Care2 to find members in your area who will want to join you in coming to the aid of Homeless in your area.

When you get the group up put it on our thread here on this Home HCA group so people can find you from here.

Can you link to us if your group is not specifically for the Homeless? Absolutely. Why don`t you start a thread on your group that addresses the Homeless in your area and then it certainly can be an affiliate here.

We have a thread to put your link on so Care2 members in your area who want to aid the Homeless can find you. Also, please put a link back to our Home group showing you are an affiliate of HCA ?

There seems to be a lot of homeless gonna happen soon because the FEMA money runs out this month and also some leases on apartments over in Houston are not going to be covered.

I am new to this group...Gonna get starting on working on my HCA page shortly...I will be doing Baltimore and surrounding areas of Maryland...we have lots of people homeless in Baltimore...I udes to be homeless and know what its like to be homeless.
