Tips for Groups Linked Here November 26, 2005 7:50 PM

To find Care2 Members in your area easily....every group you visit whether you are a member or not, has Care2 members in your vacinity in the lower right hand corner of its home page. They will only appear for you there when you visit.

I`ve tried the Care2 people page for searching and little luck so the group homepages are better.

Go ahead and individually invite them to your Homeless group and let them decide if they want to be a member. You may find they are delighted you invited them!

copypaste of a useful tip from Deb H January 02, 2006 5:52 PM

Zip Code Search Sunday, 8:26 AM Harmony- Try a zipocde search under the people tab. USPS has zip code 95482 listed for Main Strret, Ukiah, CA. Go to the Care2 Connect people tab. Click the Advanced link in the search box. Type the 95482 into the zip code field. Make sure the search is set to "everyone". Click "Search". This will bring up all profiles in the surrounding area. Profiles with avatars, recent activity and new member profiles will be listed alphabetically first. Blue profiles without recent activity follow, starting over at "a". There does not appear to be a limit on the number of invitations you can send daily for an existing group. "Introductions", however, are limited to 25 per day.  [ send green star]

I tried the zipcode search recently and it went to a blank page.  [ send green star]

Donna, your tip makes sense. The care2 search I mentioned just seems to come up with page after page of members who may be inactive, or duplicate, or dropped out.  [ send green star]

OK, I tried it again last night and it brought up about 5 possibly real profiles and a bunch of frogs, depending on the zipcode, some more profiles, some less.

Well at least it didn't come up a blank page.
