I'd like to hear what foods (dog and cat- wet or dry) people have had success with and what foods people have had problems with. My dogs are currently on Nutro, which is working very well for them, unfortunately I have heard that chemicals from euthanized animals have been found in Nutro foods. As a result I will be switching my dogs to new food shortly. Right now I am considering Innova Evo, Canidae, Nature's Variety and California Natural. Anyone have any preferences or warnings for me?

Yes--one warning, beware the BLACK THUNDA! You see, the BLACK THUNDA has been known to attack Care2 members in the middle of the night and steal their wallets in order to pay their vet bills. Ok, so seriously, Nature's Variety Prairie is working for my dogs (they get fed almost half of what they were getting on Nutro) and I will within the next year be feeding raw exclusively. I just need to get my hands on a high-quality meat grinder first. Raw just has too many benefits to pass up. I am currently researching vitamin and herbal supplements for dogs who are fed a raw diet exclusively.

I've put Mica on Wellness Dry food since she was a puppy. Yeah, I guess I got suckered in at the vet office, but I trust my vet and from the results, I trust the food. Being a husky, coat condition is definatley a concern for the breed and Mica's is nice and shiny! Although she's only a year old, she's in great health and her weight is perfect. She's curently on the fish and sweet potato formula which she prefers hands down from all the other flavors! The ingrediants are fresh and pure, nothing processed or filler. So far, I have no compliants!

I keep reading good stuff about Canidae. There's not a location near me, and I bet it would be expensive to ship.....

I have been using wellness for yrs now.my dogs have done so good on it,even the ones that have passed on,they passed on from old age.I never had any kidney problems,or diebetic problems,none of that. so my newest little dog is on it.I do dog sitting in my home,and the people will bring there own food they give to there dog,and there dogs always eat my wellness food 1st.these dogs are non gulpers,the gulpers don't have access to it because they gulp anything down.so wellness for me,plus the cat one and the treats one.but you know what they say to each his own.when someone brings over kibbles and bits for there dog it goes to the birds and i feed them wellness while they are with me and they love it.i buy the lamb hard and add some soft just for a gravy. your friend brenda p

Our dog is on Healthypet Foods and Products, its Natural and contains NO Wheat or Corn, I'm a Field Rep and our dog has less visits to the Vets and his Coat is Soft and Shinning, he shed but not as much since he is on the Vitiamins and Skin & Coat. Most of the Dog Foods out there contain something that are harmful to our pets. Our Foods gives him what he needs and I have noticed he begs less at the table cause our food satifies him and he is not hungrey all the time.
