Well this Tampa Bay HCA group has been going for awhile now and not much progress as far as really getting something going to help the Homeless in the Tampa Bay area.

One of our new members, Karen, asked us on another thread, if we actually were getting together to do something and that was an embarrASSing question to have to answer.

The answer is no but hopefully we'll start getting more active and actually get together to brainstorm and make some positive things happen for the Homeless in Tampa Bay. We have a small group here but its not the numbers but the sincerity of the people involved. I'm confident we'll bring in many more members once people in the community see us in action.

I'm in a Tampa Bay Recycle Club that had 50 members almost overnight just by word of mouth. In fact we had to curtail taking on anymore new members because we don't have a clubhouse to meet at yet. We were even contacted by a St. Pete Times reporter who wanted to do a story on us but had to take a raincheck on that until we have a clubhouse. I'm just saying that this is an example of how groups grow fast if you make yourself known to the public.

So please add your input here on how we can get started. A meetup in a Restaurant? Or does someone know of space in a church or org we could use for our first meeting?

Hi there ~ I live in Tampa, and would love to 'talk' to other people concerned with the homelessness in our area. I have long since wanted to do something...anything to help. I look forward to exchanging ideas.
