I just want to say that I am finding myself homeless, and am afraid of what my options will be. I am 53 and I suffer from Bipolar and OCD. I am not a Dual Diagnosis, and have already been told that I do not meet the criteria for shelters or half-way houses because there is no substance abuse. Also, if you try to help yourself by applying for SSDI, you are also not eligible.

What are you supposed to do with no income or healthcare? I could work if I had proper medication and a roof over my head. From what I have seen in other areas, assistance to the Mentally Ill is not really a very big priority in the church. In fact, I couldn't even get my priest to assist me in "counseling". It was very discouraging.
