Food Not Bombs.

I am interested in growing Food Not Bombs for the Salt Lake City, Utah area. Anyone interested? "Food Not Bombs is a loose-knit group of independent collectives, serving free vegan and vegetarian food to others. Food Not Bombs ideology claims that myriad corporate and government priorities are skewed to cause hunger amidst abundance. To demonstrate this (and to reduce costs), a large amount of the food served by the group is surplus food that would otherwise go to waste from grocery stores, bakeries and markets, often obtained through dumpster diving." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_not_bombs
Have you checked with any student groups in your area?

I would think that there would be some college students who have already started a chapter. If not, check with local foodbank volunteers. A lot of times the produce and baked goods do not get used up, because most folks using the foodbank usually want hotdogs, mac'n'cheese, canned goods, etc. If you have a food co-op near you, they may also know, or wish to contribute food they can not sell. Sometimes vendors from farmers markets will also do the same. People who care about healthy, locally grown food also want to help local people in need.
